World War, invading Iran and United Arabic States (EARTH II)

---Voronej 14:00 hours, Monday.---

"Alexey was sitting behind a table in a room full of his advisors. In his arms he was twitching a pen, near him lay a piece of paper with a tittle in big red letters

CPC's ORDER TO LIBERATE IRANIAN AND UNITED ARABNIAN STATES TERRITORIES FROM THE FASCIST RULE OF INDUSTRIAL EXPERIMENTS

Finally Alexey signed it and looked at his advisors."

Alexey: It is in your hands now, i want this to be done as fast as possible.

"One of his advisors picked up the paper and the rest of them all fled the room . Alexey was left alone, he rested his forhead on his fists and took a deep breath. Ahead of him was a statement to international community and war."

----TWO DAYS LATER----

"Official Statement of URC's gov't regarding the recent mobilization of 31st, 47th, 12th, 34th and 49th armies as well URC's whole African Fleet and their movement towards borders of Iran and United Arabian States territories of Industrial Experiments."

Alexey: It is time for change. A corrupt gov't of Industrial Experiments has tortured its people long enough, in light of that fact Union of Communist Republics will launch an attack on that gov't and will let that nation's people to reforge their country to their own accord. We consider this mission holy and will simply ignore any critisism that others who think otherwise may have.

---ONE DAY EARLIER--

Pushkan invading forces were rapidly put under command of General Rasputin and soldiers started leaving their barracks and loading on to transport airplanes.

I was hoping for the UAE, maybe we could strike some sort of deal?

Also, you are invited to join the MESC (Middle East Stability Coalition)

OOC: Well my nation is based in Syberia, world's second largest oil reserve, but yes that too, but the primary reason is because i want more land. Also does anybody know what kind of military does Industrial Expiriments have? Soviet based, US based? I need to have a rough idea of what i will be facing. Oh also Elephantum, war is over, we might work out a deal.

I will border you on the Munsandam peninsula, which Cotland will cede after the Omani invasion, and hopefully along the Saudi Arabian border. As for the IE military, he only had two RP's, the claiming one, and converting the people to some weird cult, i dont know if he even mentioned his military. Duke B is RPing the Omani resistance, he's using Soviet, i think.

Twenty one airborne batalions were dropped 50 kilometers from Tehran, to supress the anti-aircraft fire. The rest of the invading force has landed 200 kilometers north-east, grouping and preparing for the big push. Iran was to be the first target, United Arab Emirates were considered a low prioirty because of the small amount of land and enemy accumulation in the area, which could be seen on satelite pictures. Iran was there the main fight was gonna be, URC's soldiers were prepared for the worst, each one had an annoying tickle in the back of his mind "What if i get killed?", however it was easily supressed.

General Rasputin was sitting behind an aluminum desk in a newly set up tent HQs. He was looking over the map of Iran.

http://www.iran-now.de/bilder/map/iran.gif

His second in command, polkovnik (kurnal) Nikitov was seeping his coffee on the opposite end of the table."

Rasputin: We will move 1200 tanks to Sari, but first i want the 204 mm artillery batteries to pound the city for about a day. Also get few hundred "Chikas" to bomb the place, who is the commander of the squadron? Ruslanov? Yeah, its him, give him that task. As for the artillery, whats the name of that crazy Yankee? Peterson? Oh yeah, let him do all the ordering on the artillery batalions coordination. He prooven himself good in that kind of stuff then we were putting down rebels in California. The tanks will be supported by 39th army 2nd and 3rd division's infantry batalions, also we will throw in some air-support squadrons. Popov's "eagles" should do for the air support. After we get Sari, the road is open to take Tehran and that will win us the war, the airborne forces should soften up the anti-aircraft defenses in the area, we should be able to get massive amounts of air support through, all we need to do is to take out Sari and not run a risk of leaving a large enemy garnisson behind our backs as we aproach the capitlol.Any suggestions Gosha? (Nikitov, Gosha is short for Georgie)

Gosha: No comrade General, i will go tell the men their orders.

Rasputin: You go do that.

"Nikitov left the tent."

"Major Kabanov was the field commander of the airborne troops that were dropped near Tehran. His men were already packed in their BMDs, and VBLs ready for battle. Only about a hundred 2S9 artillery pieces were dropped in, it was planned to go light. All that the airborne divisions had to do was to destroy as many anti-aircraft positions as possible, and that is what they were ready to do.

Kabanov held in his hands a print out of satelite pictures of his first target. He raised his hand, giving his second in command an order to attack.

All 100 2S9s, 4 full strength batteries started sinchronically pounding the enemy positions 35 kilometers south. Sounds made by hundreds of BMDs were overpowered by the roar of the cannons. A total of 20000 men were going into attack, two full strength airborne divisions. A traditional "URA!" broke out of hundreds of lungs. The men moved. Enemy responded with nothing more then 12 artillery guns pounding the ground near Pushkan positions in disorder. According to rules of Pushkan war, enemy satelites were already either shot down or jammed with special devices.

Twenty minutes later they were within their enemie's grasp. Machine gun nests were poping out right out of the sand, bullets started clapping on the armor of Pushkan vehicles.

Pushkan soldiers responded. BMDs had AT-8 Scallion systems installed on their top, they started firing those at the MG nests.

The enemy held exactly 5 minutes, they blew up 12 BMDs and VBLs with RPGs but then they came within Pushkan machine gun range and the slaughter began. Iranian rebels tried to escape, but in most cases ended up cut in half by supressing machine gun fire from BMDs.

Once all of enemy fighters were either dead or wounded Pushkan men got out of their armored vehicles. According to surveilance enemy had much more forces concentrated further, there were a lot of RPGs expected making any armored vehicle lesser then a tank just an explosion waiting to happen.

Once the first wave of armored vehicles took out the first layer of resistance the rest of the forces were brought in by the trucks. Artillery batteries were moved 7 kilometers closer and started pounding further, beyond the established perimeter.

At this point enemy was expected to start an air attack, men took anti-aircraft fighting positions and dug in. However nothing happened for 40 minutes, then an hour and then two.

Kabanov decided to keep pounding enemy positions with artillery until the night fall and then make the move. Most enemy forces in the area were already moved to Sari to try to repel the Pushkan main push, forces stationed far off, in most cases didn't even know that where was a war, URC's 7th counterintelligence division was working day and night to disrupt communications. The playing ground was set, the game was to begin in a few hours."

I will border you on the Munsandam peninsula, which Cotland will cede after the Omani invasion, and hopefully along the Saudi Arabian border. As for the IE military, he only had two RP's, the claiming one, and converting the people to some weird cult, i dont know if he even mentioned his military. Duke B is RPing the Omani resistance, he's using Soviet, i think.
yea basicaly. think of afghanistan.

OOCish: Pushka, since your at war with Teh Ninjas and since he controls MAdagascar which I dearly want, do you think some kind of alliance/agreement/coalition against Teh Ninjas? Please tg me or respond in the thread. For support with the planned invasion of Teh Ninjas I would be able to supply you with troops, money, supplies, etc to help fund your wars of conquest in the Middle East.

The Cottish recon satellites over the middle east detected the exchange of fire in Iran, and immediately zoomed in on the action. It appeared to be Pushkan soldiers taking fire from local batteries. This information was classified 3-A, meaning that the Emperor had to have it in his hands within the end of the day.

Six hours later...

The message of the Pushkan invasion of Iran came to the Emperor just as he was to end the working day. Looking over it quickly, he had a secretary draft an appropriate response.

I personally thank you for your offer but it does not seem that we require any assistance at this point. Situation is in no way critical, at this time we are at full capability to handle it on our own.

"Polkovnik Peterson was sitting in his personnal, comuflaged command post, tent, leaning other a small and shiny aluminum table with a set of loose front legs. His secretary Leutenant Kozov yelled purhapse at every clerk in the armie's non-military equipment beuraue, so far with no result. Peterson mean while put a wooden chip between the loose screw and the buttom of the table to stop the leg from jiggling, after that incident Leutenant Kozov called himself a fool and started yelling at the army storage room clercs even louder to show how much he cares. As a serious officer Peterson was annoyed by this and most of the time sent his secretary on some distant assignments, like delivering various messages to the main HQs on foot instead of using a radio or even a vehicle transport. Peterson's reasoning was that radio can be hijacked and so can vehicles, but a single person can not. Kozov inturn forced himself not to realize the fact that these ridiculus decisions are made by his superior officer because he is unhappy with his subordinate, Leuntenant just decided to be happy to be needed.

On the desk was Peterson's notebook, it contained maps of the area, positions of the artillery batalions and so on. He was ordered to organize the artillery assault on Sari and that was what he was doing. He moved in over a thousand artillery pieces of different calibers. His infantry support batalions set up their perimeter 2 kilometers ahead of his batteries and he didn't feel threatened by the enemy, not one bit. This was his big break, if all went right he would get a medal of honor and a well paid, safe position of Polkovnik-Major. But he felt no extra pressure, he knew what he was doing, he viewed this chanllenge as a minor compared to what he had to go through in California as a newly enlisted Vzvodni, commander of a single artillery battery consisting of 25 guns of various calibers. Back then he didn't have an annoying secretary, he had a hill on which he was ordered to place his guns and he had an enemy which completely surrounded his position, he also had a Republican army from which he was cut off by the enemy. For three days he held that hill and his guns took out key enemy positions, after that was over he was an officer, and had 2 small, red cubes sewed on to his uniform.

He was cooperating with air attack coordinator Major Ruslanov, they have separated sections of the city for them to take out. Peterson had seven.

By the end of the day he turned off his notebook and went to give the orders himself. Seventh and eleventh long range batteries were to move 12 kilometers closer to the city in order to get one of the heavily defended anti-aircraft positions, and get Ruslanov some breathing air above the city.

--7 hour later----

"Sergei Ruslanov was considered somewhat of a marvel of Union's airforce. At age of 23 he was already an experienced tactician, and was praised for that. He was sitting in his own tent and was calmly awaiting a phone call from the counter-intelligence, conferming that Peterson has taken out enemy air-craft position, in two hours, main ground assault would begin. It would take 40 minutes to do a bombing raid yet the issue of time still remained. If Peterson's batteries wouldn't complete their job in time the whole invasion would be postponed, giving problems to airborne divisions deep inside enemy territory, increasing a chance of Ruslanov's 19 year old brother Oleg who was a private in the 14th airborne division, of dying. Yet Ruslanov was calm he trusted that Peterson would do well.

Finally a phone rang, left most light on the dial shining green indicated that the call was made from Peterson's command post. Ruslanov's secretary picked it up."

Secretary: Air force command post, Leutenant Abralov speaking.

Peterson: Tell Sergei that i am done, he can go in.

"Secretary expected to hear his fellow secretarie's voice on the other end, he was puzzled for a second after hearing Polkovnik's deep roar."

Secretary: Yes comrade Polkovnik! It will be done comrade Polkovnik!

Peterson: Stop yelling, give the message now!

"Secretary turned towards Ruslanov"

Secretary: Comrade Polkovnik wishes to notify you that he has succeded in his mission and that you are free to initiate the air raid.

"The secretary hang up. Ruslanov got up and walked towards the phone, pushing the secretary aside"

Ruslanov: Go and start typing the report on the situation, i will edit it later.

Secretary: Yes comrade Major.

"Secretary made a sharp 180 degree turn and exited the tent. Ruslanov started called Major Petrosyank, his head pilot and second in command, on the phone"

Ruslanov: Its began, you know what to do, give the others my orders.

OOC: Since nobody is joining i might as well end this

IC:
"Pushkan forces were closing in on the city, 30 minutes have gone by since the bombardment ended. Most of the city was already in ruins, bodies were piling up everythere. Thats then the ground forces attacked. It took exactly 47 minutes for Pushkan troops to basically walk across the city calming down those few chambers of resistance that still remained. Finally the city was taken, the prisoners were rounded up and transported into a newly set up POW camp, 3 kilometers outside of the city."

-----ONE DAY LATER------

"An order was given to move out of Sari and aproach Tehran. The word came from the airborne troops that the anti-aircraft defenses were taken out with minimal looses. The bomber squadrons immediately flew ahead of the main force to start the bombardment of the capitol"

------17 HOURS LATER-------

"Main ground force linked up with the airborne troops. Hahds were shaken, trophees were exchanged. Meanwhile the bomber squadrons started rocking the hell out of Tehran."

-------8 HOURS LATER----------

"Main ground force along with the paratroopers have entered Tehran. Only to get the news that the rebels have surrendered. Endless columns of Iranian POW started moving towards the freshly made prison camps.

-------2 DAYS LATER-------

"With Iran situation already stabilized, the only thing remained to do was to take care of the United Arabic Emirates and their almost non-existant military. A single 2 division of the 34th army was transported to take care of that problem. Twelve cruise missiles later the enemy surrendered. Diplomats flew in to help set up the gov't in two new Republics of the Union. The invading forces were left as a protective force for the new republics. "
