President Williamson Speaks on the new Amendment:

My fellow Tekanians, and citizens of this universe...

The marks the first time the Republic has sought actual legal definition upon the institution of marriage... As such, in the common law, we have before left this issue to the hands of our people on an individual basis.

The dangers of the theonomists to turn governments into religous authorities have placed us all in danger. Seeking to undo the religious tollerence that we have worked hard to build, in this Republic, as well as in many other states.

It is with this work, that we for-ever place this issue at the hands of the people, to decide the course of their own lives, and tie the hands of theonomists in this Republic, to turn the government of this great nation against her own people.

I encourage national leaders everywhere to seek the same recourse. To ensure the domestic peace and tranquilty of their peoples....

We applaud and support this definition of marriage by the government of Tekania. We would like to consult with you regarding your government's handling of the thorny issues surrounding religious acceptance of this amendment to your constitution.

Please notify us when a good opportunity for us to have a dialogue regarding this matter would be.

The Republic believes in Religious Liberty as a tantamount part of a free and libertine society.

As such, there was much contention with those of theonomical viewpoints at the deliberation in proposition of this Amendment to our Great Foundational Document. But since passage was closely connected with those rights layed out in our foundation... Including that of religious liberty... The resolution pulls all power from government to legislate upon this issue... Preventing the future possibility of "marriage laws" being enacted in this Republic or her constituent Dominions. Leaving the right and act of marriage at the personal level of her citizenry only.

Legislating upon the issue at the expense of those institutions which exists morally opposed to certain forms of marriage out-of-line with their personal views would also be illegal and unconstitutional by this Republic's great foundation. And thus, this Amendment ensures that people will have the soul determintive power over their own marriage, whether by Institutionalized Contract in the sight of own religious convictions, or by Common-Law Contractural Union through the normative civil contract-law process.

Thus none are disparaged of their rights in accordance with their own personal convictions of this issue... And all remain free to the determination of their lives, liberties and happiness in this Republic.
