Referendum in Cobdenia

Cobdenia
25-04-2005, 12:09
A referendum has been called in the Dominion of Cobdenia to determine our constitution. Currently, we are an "Independent Governorate"; formerly a British Colony, we had independence forced upon us against in the 1970's. However, we retained the former Governor-General, who became a hereditary head of state, in much the same way as a constutional monarch, and the colonial flag; and the House of Advisors became the main law making body The question is, should we continue in this rather anarchronistic and bizarre way of ruling our country? (More info on the current constitution on my NS wiki, see link in sig)
We have either to:
Keep it the same.
Abolish the hereditary position, replace it with an elected figurehead Head of State who will be known by the title of Governor-General
Abolish the figurehead, and let the elected Prime Minister hold the title of Governor-General
Throw away the shackles of our colonial past! Have an elected President, not a Governor-General. Change the system
Democracy? Sod that for a lark
