Over the past year, Lindim has been operating, in conjunction with the Tenb University's Astronomy, Biology, Astrophysical, and Space Tech Departments, and also the aWen Corporation, a farm of satellite dishes spreading of several square kilometers in the Northern Jearian Plains.
There has been speculation within and without Lindim as to the nature of this “dish farm.” We can assure everyone that it is not part of a wide-area receiving system, used for the collection of satellite communication signals in the field of intelligence gathering. It has always been Lindimese national policy never to violate the right to privacy without just cause.
These satellites dishes are part of one of the largest extra-terrestrial detection systems every built. In addition to the Kulowui Large-field Telescope, which searches for Earths similar to our own, this “dish farm” scans a wide range of frequencies from all over the night sky, and parses them with a distributed supercomputing environment originally designed by Schultaria Prime.
This DETS, or Discovery of Extra-Terrestrial Signals Project, is, once again, a completely benign operation. If any scientific institution would like access to the raw data collected by the dishes, they are available through the TAPRES-loan program at Tenb University.
