Flaming Souls is out to improve the quality of RPs, but I'm out to improve the originality of RPs. I'd like for people to work together to stop these fads taht erupt in what seems like every week. Here's what we'll do:
If one member starts an RP and then another copies it, we'll try to organize it so that both nations can work together, or competitively, on the same subject. Also, if people continue to make the threads, we'll convince the starters to have their threads locked and just RP in the original. Thios will greatly shorten the number of topics we've got and teh quality of RPs will surely increase.

Oh, you know, factbooks, "what do you think of my RPing" and the diplomatic scale topics. I suggested a separate forum on NS for all the latter two topics to be put in. ;)

Right now, the next under 100 mil nation to start building nukes. If this Shooban shit start piling up we'll dogpile them. We'll smolder them until they start coming up with new ideas.

Now, if someone does something and then another nation does the same a week or two later, that's not starting one, so we won't dogpile them.

Since the whole thing would be a coalition and not one after another, it's not.

Think of it this way: This is to scare people into thinking,

"Hey, if I do the same thing that this guy is doing, I'm going to get my ass kicked. I better come up with a new idea."

If I get one complaint post in one of my threads from any of you would-be forum crusaders, I'll report the lot of you for spam. How's that for scaring people into thinking?

Yeah well how exactly will you be scaring people into submission? By going to war under OOC reasons? Sory but that sounds a little N00bish. If I see any of you guys in my threads spamming under this banner then I wont hesitate to call in the mods.

Here's another idea: If you like another person's idea so much that you want to do something similar, ask the original starter to start a new thread and lock the old one that allows for more nations to get in on the fun. This prevents the forum from clogging up with these stupid threads.

There's been several edits to make this a lot less hostile. But we'll still tell them that they shouldn't have made the thread in the first place.

You know, after reading the idea, after the revisions and everything...I still have to agree with those who are against it. There are much more constructive (and original) ways to solve this problem. I myself have begun an endeavor with the same intent, as well as increasing the quality of RP's in general. Check the RP critics link in my sig. This however, is the age old tale of "sinking to their level" I would have nothing to do with this except to speak against it. It is not our place to tell people what to do on the forums only suggest that which would make them be more respected and not piss the rest of all of us off. Also, if you are seeking to completely eradicate copycat threads and the like, have fun. They will always be there. It is a way for a new nation to think that they are doing good. They see someone with a lot larger population who is well known do something, so they do it themselves. Oh well, enough of my rant. Basically, if this were a UN resolution and my nation was in the UN, I would vote no and quickly draft a counter resolution that solves the same problem in a much less violent way.

Dogpiling's only a last resort. I'm in full support of your idea, but yours is to keep the quality of RPs good. I'm trying to stop these repetitive threads. Maybe you're right, though. I'm not snooping down to their level, however. I'm trying to pull them up. Anyway, I'm going to have this locked.

On second thought, I came up with a much better solution.

So... basically, you want free-form RP to be regulated by a group of people deciding how everyone else should have fun? Interesting...
