Official Declaration - 50% of Warmachine mobilizes for upcoming conflict

"Today I, the Chancellor of the Allied States of Guffingford, has ordered the mobilization of no less than fifty percent of the Guffingfordii naval, aerial and land capabilities. This is done to counter an eventual attack from the nations of Dracun Imperium, Stevid or Ankhmet who oppose the freedom of choice in national armament. Our naval assets have been put on the highest alert, and every non-allied vessel will be sunk without warning. Guffingford does not tolerate any nation trying to force their will unto others, especially on delicate matters such as nuclear armament. This is a short, yet clear public announcement brought forth by the Guffingfordii State Department.

We congratulate Guffingford on his mobilization! I'm sorry that we can't take part in this because of our current naval fleet off in another war but if you request we can bomb the fleet and conduct air superiority tasks. We give you the best of hopes.

Stevid as of yet has not mobilised in retaliation. Though the MoD is shocked and greatly worried and concern that Stevid has been listed as a target nation.

[Hogenbosch, Guffingford
Generalleutnant Karl Feinz stuck the thick, black Cuban cigar into his mouth and took another drag. His eyes were covered by ebony frames, shaped after the all to infamous aviator glasses worn during 'Nam. His black officer's uniform was unbottoned at the top, revealing a little bit of his chest, but his black overcoat was still around his shoulders. The day's heat didn't seem to bother him however, as he looked on at the building crew Emperor Jonach had ordered to Guffingford. It would be the second time the Empire sent aircraft to their neighbor, but this time it would be a bit more than reconaissance aircraft. This time they would prepare for war.

Although Hogenbosch had its own military airfield, and it had once hosted a squadron of Macabee reconaissance aircraft, this time the Empire was ready to transport more, and in order to do that they had to build a larger field. Furthermore, should Guffingford be attacked they knew it wouldn't be a field day, and therefore, they would construct Guffingford's first subterranean airbase.

It was already half done by the time the General had been sent to check up on the situation, but it had taken almost half a month, and Jonach needed faster results. Therefore Feinz, and another fifty civilian workers, were sent to get the building on the roll. The general smiled, taking out his Cuban cigar from his mouth, and looked over to a group of eleven workers sitting around, taking a brief rest. He walked over to their location gracefully and crouched next to them whispering,"Ladies, this ain't no picnic. Now get off yer asses and git to work."

With that he made an abrubt about face after getting back up and walked back to where he was standing before. The roar of aircraft sped overhead, causing small particles of dirt to fall from the still drying concrete reinforcements overhead, forging the ceiling of the subterranean runway. Large Var-34 transport aircraft were landing supplies for the continuation of the project, and their numbers were increasing after every day as the Emperor ordered the construction to speed up. The general didn't mind, but the men were getting their nerves plucked after every shriek of the turbojets. That's why Feinz was there, to make sure they didn't go crazy, and make sure they were on task.

What had been done to date was actually more than the bereaucrats back at Fedala thought had been done. The runways were complete, and so were the quick titanium slide doors installed at the end of the incline which made up the runways. The slope wasn't large at all, and was gradual, having a length of over a thousand meters. Not only would this not tax the fuel tanks on the fighters, but the longitivity of the runways would allow even bombers to use the airfield, and so Hogenbosch would remain one of the principle hearts of the Macabee aerial task forces in Guffingford. The ceilings were mostly dried, some parts still leaking dirt, but steel reinforcements had put an end to that in most areas, and the subterranean complex became one of the safest places on Earth. The hangars, with double the reinforcement in the walls, were larger, and were destined to hold some twenty fighter squadrons, ten strike squadrons, three bomber squadrons, and four reconaissance squadrons. These aircraft were scheduled to arrive between the present day and the week after, and once they came they were going to stay for a mighty long time.

Regardless of the process underground, there was still much to be done above ground. The Var-34 transport aircraft were also dropping off the parts to the massive fixed Praetorian batteries which would protect the airfield from raids. Moreover, four gargantuan MRT-2 RADAR complexes were going to be built above ground, although the computers would be situated in the subterranean level. A single MST-3 SODAR array was also to be built on the surface, along with three MLT-2 LIDAR arrays, each with their six Gaussian LIDAR transmitters. All in all, it was going to be a massive project, and it would cost the Empire over twelve billion Reichmarks to complete it.

The Generalleutnant took another drag while his second in command, Generalmajor Wilhelm von Dreich walked over. The younger general spoke softly,"Sir, this isn't our war. I don't understand why we're doing this."

The Generalleutnant turned and kept quiet. Then he said,"Our war or not, we're here to stay."
