"Goodevening everyone. Incola Baricela, a tropical forest-covered island located thirty-three miles off of Risban's southeastern coast, has long thought to be uninhabited. It is part of a small string of islands in the southeast. Today, all thoughts of the island were proven wrong.
An oil company from the Scorpius Corporation and a gold prospecting team from the Zorag Company began to look at Incola Baricela for possible oil wells and gold mines three weeks ago. They set up a camp on the beach, finding a very small oil well that pointed to more on the island. A ZG team went to explore deeper into the island for gold two days ago. Contact with them was lost soon after.
The ScorpCorp team and ZG people on the beach had minimal security; mostly just hired mercenary guards. This small security force was unprepared for the attack launched on the camp.
Several hours ago, a primitive tribe launched an attack on the camp, armed mostly with spears, swords, and bows and arrows. They managed to get hold of a gun and seemed to figure out how to use it. We gather that they learned how to use the gun when they ambushed the missing Zorag Company Team.
The Risbani teams were forced to retreat form the island, sailing immediately back to Copmol Bay Port. These primitives were of darker, tanned skin compared to most native Risbanians, as seen in the pictures taken by the ScorpCorp team. One member of the ScorpCorp team was a member of the Imperial Archaeological Society, Dr. Jason Pedgril, stated that the primivites spoke in a now-dead Risban dialect.
The Office of the Emperor and the Imperial Archaeological Society are working together to attempt to figure out the primitives. A team is being prepared to travel to the island with a full military escort to meet with one of the primitives and/or attempt to figure out their numbers. Should they be forced to retreat, their main goal will be to capture one of the primitives and bring them back to the mainland to study them.
This is a great find for the Grand Imperium, and will be leading the government and the Imperial Archaeological Society to further study all of the formerly unexplored islands in Risban territorial waters.
We'll keep you updated."
