Blood Moon Goblins Open to Embassies (modern?)

Blood Moon Goblins
24-04-2005, 02:44
The Kingdom of Blood Moon is happy to announce that after a period of inter-royal squabbles we have opened our nation to the world, namely for diplomatic missions because we are aware that large tracts of swamp surrounded by mountains usualy arent tourist areas.
We suggest that anybody sent be short and not subject to claustraphobia. The average Goblin is three feet tall, so most of the tunnels in the main fortress/city are a comfortable five feet tall.

The Alidorn government is considering the option of an embassy in your nation.
If you would like to take a look at our embassy contract and let us know if you find it acceptable.

John Watson
Minister of Foreign Policy,
Bureau of Foreign Affairs.

(OOC; you can find the embassy contract by following the diplomacy with Alidor link in my sig.)

We would gladly accept your embassy, but as you may notice you would need to construct it inside the mountain, so armoured cars would not work well.
You can operate your helicopters out of our airport for a small maintenance fee though.
Keep in mind that we have just established contact with the outside world, we have little in the way of technology. For example, internet has just reached us and is currently unavalible to most. In fact, if the average Goblin say a mouse, he would most likely try to eat it.

24-04-2005, 04:14
Wonderful we shall updated our list of embassies to include your nations embassy, if you could let us know who your ambassador will be so we can complete the diplomatic persons forms for his/her diplomatic immunity.

John Watson
Minister of Foreign Policy,
Bureau of Foreign Affairs.

Our ambassadors have yet to be appointed, however we could establish a small consulate in your nation which would be manned (Goblinned?) by a member of the royal family.
Alidor
24-04-2005, 04:22
Let me know when you have chosen your diplomat as he/she will not be immune to Alidorn laws until the Diplomatic persons forms have been completed and cleared by our government.

John Watson
Minister of Foreign Policy,
Bureau of Foreign Affairs.

The Rogue Nation of TimeGods would like to request that you consider establishing mutual embassy's. As we our relatively low-tech as well, in fact, we are far lower then your nation, you would have to either accept our Mind over Matter transportation, or construct your own airport for this purpose.

OOC: Dude, patience. Some of us are on the other side of the ocean and aren't up when you are up.

IC:

Ab-shalom and greetings,

It is the desire of the Sultanate of Vastiva to open and maintain strong diplomatic and economic relations with all nations desirous of such. We therefore offer an exchange of embassies and ambassadors, and a beginning of free trade between our nations.

If this meets with your approval, please communicate by any means.

Go in Peace,

Namaste,
Raahmid Javani
Grand Vizier,
Humble Servant of His Magnificence, the Sultan of Vastiva
Phaestos

Our glorious representative, King Rhadymanthus of Phaestos, has noted your missive with interest, and the council of the Phaestoi Confederacy has agreed on a proposal which they wish to present to Blood Moon.

Initial reconaissance scans suggest large deposits of iron and copper in the mountains of the Blood Moon territories. Desirous of our mutual benefit, the Council proposes that our state-sponsored automobile manufacturing company, Atomo Amota (lit: "Wheels of the People") might raise a number of vehicle foundries in these mountainous areas. We propose that local Goblin tribesmen would comprise the majority of our workforces, watched over by Phaestoi overseers, thus providing us with vehicles and you with a valuable boost to employment.

King Rhadymanthus and the Council of the Confederacy await your response, in humble anticipation of many mutual profits.

Telesta Demosthenes.

The people of Poultra are about 1 foot tall because they are, in fact, chickens.
We like that stuff about cutting off feet. We will pledge alliegence to you for ever and ever if, every year, you give our embassy the gift of a hundred human feet.

DEATH TO HUMANS!!! THEY ARE THE SCUM OF THE UNIVERSE AND MUST BE ERADICATED VERY, VERY PAINFULLY!!!!!!!!

Im aware of this, I was just not happy that I had to bump my topic three times and nobody else apparently has to bump theirs at all.

IC:
The Blood Moon tribe happily accepts all the applicants, if you would give us the dimensions of your embassy, we can begin hollowing out areas for them, free of charge.

Phaestros, this is perfectly acceptable as long as a govornment official may monitor your factories at any time to make sure that the workers are not being unduley exploited in any way or treated unfairly.

OOC: Here's a hint - don't bump but once a day. At most. Otherwise it's "read through 96 bumps" which makes the thread cranky.

Ab-shalom and humble greetings,

His Magnificence, The Sultan of Vastiva, has directed that one acre of land be put aside in Sisu Vaari, our capital city, for your usage in building an embassy.

We would forewarn you that our land is known for its bitterly cold winters. If our local experts can be of assistance in design or building, they will be made available to you with haste.

Our Sultan has also directed the emplacement of a Weyker Dome over your land grant. This regional technology has the advantage of allowing the manipulation of the climate within the domes strictures, from tropical to temperate. We make no promises for the climate outside the dome.

We also note you are a tunneling race – as such, we may have many contracts for you here, as we are a mountainous region with some difficulties in reaching some of our resources due to, well, mountains. And deep snows and ice. So perhaps contracts could be arranged for some of your workers over time?

It is our sincere desire that this be the beginning of a long and mutually advantageous relationship between our nations.

Go in Peace,

Namaste,

Vastiva:
Goblins are very hardy critters, temperature changes hardly affect them unless they dont have anything to do, in which case they will complain loudly and extensivly about the conditions, whatever those conditions may be.
However, we will send an ambassador from the Frozen Claw area, they tend to like colder areas.
The same for your contracts, the Frozen Claw are excellent at working in snow/ice.

Camel Eaters:
Perfect, although we would advise against attempting to work with the alchemists...as we have noted elswhere they are almost as unstable as the stuff they work with.

Roach-Busters:
Accepted, space is being made ready for your embassy.

Perhaps Xeraph would like to participate in the debate over the Kobold issue?

Perhaps. I am unfamiliar with Kobold.

Kobolds arent a place, they are a sub-species of Goblins. Generaly they are regarded as inferior and most of them are used as slaves at the present.
The debate is what to do with them, some people want to give them their own state, others want to make them citizens, and some want them to stay as slaves.
Forign advice on this issue would be most welcome.

Are they intrinsically inferior, i.e. physically, mentally, spiritually inferior, or is the inferiority a perceived thing? If it's a case of them being socially unacceptable for superfluous reasons, then I'd say free them. If they're incapable of governing themselves, then they need to be supervised. If they're ghoulish brutes, exterminate them.

They are usualy thought to be somewhat below the level of the average Goblin in most respects, although most of them are as strong, or stronger, than the average Goblin on the street.

See the Kobold Kontroversy thread I just bumped.
