POLICE REPORT: At approximately 2 am this morning a bomb was detinated outside the Euroslavian supreme court during the trial of two suspected terrorists. The bomb caused only 1 death and 2 injuries, and was most likely a distraction. 7 masked men entered the court and grabbed the two men on trial, leaving in a hurry. The attackers escaped with three casualties and one of the men on trial has dissapeared. Two court guards were shot dead along with the prosecution attorney and 3 members of the jury.
Action will be taken against these terrorists to find them and stop any future attacks and bring them into custody. A perimeter has been set up around Euroslavia, checking for suspicious vehicles. The terrorists have been traced to al halabiz, the same group that the two men on trial had escorted after an attack earlier this year.

Haraz turned off his TV and turned to Karal.

Haraz- "DAMMIT! I think it failed overall, we got you out of there but they shot Jerad dead. The rest of the plan must fall into place sucessfully, the Euroslavians have had only a taste of what is to come next!"

Karal- "Should I prepare the van?"

Haraz- "Not yet, let them calm down first, then we make the next move!"

OOC: Lol. Yep. At least when Muru suprise attacked me and apparently took control of my citizens, he did it in a much better fashion and longer, more explained post.

OOC: While I can feel your urge to RP, keep in minds that it still isn't really how people RP terrorist attacks here, as such attacks without previous consultation with the defender OOCly will most likely generate frustration and irritation, and will also likely to generate an ignore. Since it seems that you already have seen Euroslavia's name in stickies, perhaps it's best to go through these stickies by Euroslavia and others, including Guide to Roleplaying Errorism (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=366018&page=1).

As well, as a new player entering the RP world in NationStates, it's his/her responsibility to learn and try to grasp the ways of NS, and appreciate the offers of help presented by other nations. Outright rejecting such offer and refusing the prospect of learning will be counter-productive for your future in NS. Your choice, really, so good luck.

OOC: Easy there. No need to give me the finger. Just saying, check out Terrorism Roleplaying Guide first. You have to talk with people before you do this sort of thing. I should know, I play as the Real Anime Liberation Movement, a band of terrorists, besides this nation.

hey, you're new... you made a mistake... it's no big deal...

just some pointers... if you're going to do a terrorist attack on another country, or do something to its citizens... in fact it doesn't have to be terrorism specifically, but anything that basically would cause an effect on someone else, it's best to get in touch with them via a telegram or instant message or e-mail and work out what exactly you're going to be doing, and most importantly get their permission.

the countries and the citizens are the "property" of their creator, and none of us can go around doing whatever we want to the creations without the creator's consent.

the same goes with saying euroslavia did such and such, that's his call, and even if it's something as predictable as securing his perimeters and such... it's his move to make. similarly, people should respect your creations and such, and they can't go around saying that they snuck into your nation and blew stuff up.

so yeah, welcome to the show... sorry that some of us are more rude and such... we were all new at one point, and it's best that all of us remember that... but if you have any other questions, i seriously would recommend reading all the stickies up top, and just observing how others do... it helps a lot, it's what i did all those years ago...

OOC: Ditto to what UX and... One should not generally make their first RP be about bombing a comparative superpower. One should usually start out with some internal Role-Play, such as explaining how a current leader came into power or how the nation is entering the international stage.

I was new and trying something that looked fun and is now annoying the crap out of me. I'm sorry, this crap isn't for me, that was my first and last terrorist attack.

I'd be willing to work out an RP with you if you'd like. I can teach you the ropes to roleplaying terrorism. Just let me know if you're interested.

There are a lot of generally-agreed-upon conventions involved in roleplaying here, and it will probably take you some time to learn them. This thread will help:

http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=380354

In the meantime, here are some basic pointers:

It is a very good idea to contact your potential enemy before you get started. For one thing, his country might be very difficult to enter (which would require a great deal of roleplaying just to get your terrorists into the target country). Your chosen target might be located on a distant planet, or in the distant past- which would make getting your terrorists into the country somewhat more difficult. It is also basic roleplaying ettiquette. If you don't notify the target before you strike, he would be perfectly within his rights to simply IGNORE the entire RP.

This bit is very important: YOU CANNOT ASSIGN CASUALTIES TO ANOTHER NATION FROM YOUR ATTACK. If Euroslavia is willing to RP this with you, you have to write up the attack and let him write up how much damage it caused. This is another reason to contact the target before starting- the two of you get to work out various potential problems before the start of the RP.

While you're reading the various helpful threads in the link I gave you, make a note of the threads which are most helpful to you, and who wrote those threads. Most of those players have been around for a long time, and most of them will be willing to answer questions for newcomers.

Don't get pissed off and quit because you made a mistake. Learn from it and move on. Ask questions when you don't know or don't understand something. If you don't want to ask in the forums, use the Telegram feature and ask one nation in particular.

One last bit of advice: Euroslavia is one of my allies. Annoying him can be extremely hazardous to your country's health. Actually attacking him is therefore contraindicated.
