'No problem. Now, a while back, Reichstopian Seperatists launched several terrorist attacks against Crossman. What is the current situation regarding this issue?"

'No problem. Now, a while back, Reichstopian Seperatists launched several terrorist attacks against Crossman. What is the current situation regarding this issue?"

"Overall the crisis has died down. The Crosstapo and Imperial Armed Forces have been working hard throughout the Imperium to hunt down these terrorists and bring them to justice. We had been working with the Fedral Union who they had also targeted for being an ally of the Imperium. We have yet to find the groups current leader. The founder of the group was brought to justice many years ago after the group overthrew the planetary government of Reichstopia and executed the governor. That was the groups high time, and it has overwhelmingly lost support due to its resorting to terror. The time is near that we will be rid of them."

"So your saying they are still out there?"

"So your saying they are still out there?"

"Unfourtunately yes. But there numbers have decresed greatly as everyday we Crossmanian intelligence services and military forces find more and more of them everyday. Reichstopia has been on a serious security lockdown. And we believe we are getting much closer to finding their headquarters."

Azrael took a sip from his water glass on the table.

"This is not a quick process. Hunting down a group that has been doing everything it can to stay in hiding is not the galaxy's easiest task. But we are handling it superbly in my opinion. In the past two years we have arrested nearly twenty thousand members of this terrorist organization. We estimate there to be at least another five to ten thousand remaining members. It was never a large group. The citizens of Reichstopia as a whole have been strongly against the actions of the RPLA."

"Sounds kind of like the IRA situation in Northern Ireland. An ongoing problem that will never be completly pacified. Won't there always be at least a small amount of resistance Mr. Dracwald?"
Crossman
22-04-2005, 21:16
Azrael nodded. "In some manner of speaking you could say that. But in our case, Reichstopia was never conquered, such as Ireland was. Nearly three hundred years ago the Imperium was formed by several member worlds peacefully joining together. Also, all the origional member worlds of the Imperium had a common history. We were all founded by the same people. The creation of the Imperium was simply the reunification of us all as a people. You could compare this to the creation of Germany in the 1870s. Multiple nations all of the same origin coming together to unite themselves as a whole.

"Because of this, there has never been this sort of resistance before. This is a new concept for the Imperium. It started out of not a true wish by the people to be seperate but that of a small few who wish independence. Also, there is no religious side to this, such as with the IRA."

"How do you know there arn't other resistance groups on other worlds. How United is the Imperium, really?"
Crossman
22-04-2005, 21:35
Azrael laughed.

"The Imperium takes good measures the ensure that groups of this sort don't get anywhere as far as the RPLA did. They managed to grow as much as they did during a period of lax internal awareness on Reichstopia. However we rarely have any resistance organizations come to our attention. The unity of the Imperium is as strong as ever, with the exception of the RPLA. As I said, the concept of resistance groups is new to us. There were a few in the early days of the Imperium, but they weren't so much seperatists as they were competing to get their way in the newly formed Imperial government."

"Ok, next topic. The Imperium is part of ESUS and the UFP. If these two went to war, who would you side with"
Crossman
22-04-2005, 21:51
"Actually, the Imperium is not currently a member of the United Federation of Planets. We had been but after the UFP dissolved and reformed the Imperium did not rejoin. We do however maintain relations with members of the UFP, we are not a member of the alliance."

O'Reilly slightly raised his voice,
"Then if the Fedral Union and ESUS went to war, who would you support?"

O'Reilly slightly raised his voice,
"Then if the Fedral Union and ESUS went to war, who would you support?"

"The Crossmanian stance on such situations is dependent upon the circumstances of such a scenario. It really all depends on the cause of the war. However, in our current situation we would be more likely to stand by our alliance. Relations between TFU and ESUS have been strained lately and we have tried to maintain some level of neutrality. But we like to honor our alliances."
Cherry Ridge
22-04-2005, 21:57
"Even after they also were attacked by the Reichstopian Seperatists, and took blows for your government?"
Crossman
22-04-2005, 22:00
"Well that was when our governments were on better terms. Due to tensions with ESUS, our relations with TFU were strained as well."
Cherry Ridge
22-04-2005, 22:02
"So after they took hits for you, you would still support the ones who didn't?"He said. He then raised hius voice, "C'mon, thats ridiculous!"
Crossman
22-04-2005, 22:10
Azrael sat, still calm. Unaffected by O'Reilly's gradual loss of temper.

"The Imperial government has no control over the choice of it's rebel's targets. The RPLA choosing TFU as a target was of the RPLA's choosing. It was not that TFU 'took hits for us'. We were attacked as well. What is ridiculous is that you believe we should go against our ally's simply because someone was attacked due to their relationship with us. If our governments are not allied or are on stressed relations, we have no obligation to defend them against our allies."
Cherry Ridge
22-04-2005, 22:16
O'Reilly yelled,
"Listen, I'm not telling you what to do, but it is riduculous. They were so closely allied to you, the RPLA attacked them, not any ESUS nation, Mr. Dracwald!"
Crossman
22-04-2005, 22:23
Azrael rolled his eyes at O'Reilly's famous yelling fit.

"As you said yourself, they were closely allied with us. They are no longer closely allied with us. Therefore it would be ridiculous to turn on our close allies to defend someone who is no longer a close ally. Would you fight your best friend if he was fighting some one who is no longer good friends with you?"
Cherry Ridge
22-04-2005, 22:28
O'Reilly waved his hands in the air,
"Thats besides the point. The bottom line is Crossman turned their back on their close ally, and thats the bottom line." He calmed down, and pointed his pen at Lord Azrael,
"We will do a followup on this later on. Maybe we can get a TFU representative and another ESUS member in here, so we get all sides of the issue. We are fair and balanced." He then continued,
"Crossman has been silent recently. Are you slowly slipping into an isolationist state?"
