Kiruna, Sweden

Begin Feed.

Joseph Grubel: "Hello this your reporter in the field Joseph Grubel and I am in Kiruna Sweden today to interview Lt. Colonel John Sweeney. Lt. Col. Sweeney's Air Wing form the Forward AirBase at Kiruna participated in the Swedish Wargames event held last week and has an exciting description of the events he would like to share with our home audience."

Lt. Col. Sweeney: "Thank you Mr. Grubel. I would like to start by saying I am proud of the 357th Air Wing. Units from our Squadron had 10 confirmed kills during the event last week. Two of our pilots shared a kill when they both hit an enemy position at the same time."

A loud noise could be heard in the background. Jet wash began to roll down the valley towards Kiruna.

Joseph Grubel: "Wow, this is a treat. Lt. Col. Sweeney has a flyover scheduled for the interview, how exciting! Which pilots are doing this manuever Lt. Col."

Lt. Col. Sweeney: "We don't have any flights scheduled for today. Those planes are coming from the Norway border. They look like Kriegorgrad jets. They are way out of there airspace. What the hell?"

The two jets bearing Kriegorgrad markings streaked over the town and made a bee-line towards the AirBase on the outskirts of town. As the Lt. Col. and the Reporter moved to a vantage point where they could see the jets, the most dreadful thing happened. What appeared to be cluster bombs were released onto the AirBase. In a path filled with destruction, most of the fighter wing parked on the tarmac was destroyed. Only two planes in a small repair hangar were undamaged. As the jets made a return pass, a second set of bombs fell on the HQ Office at the Base.

Lt. Col. Sweeney: "This interview is OVER. I have to get to the base ASAP!"

Joseph Grubel: "Let us come with you. We have to see the damage."

Lt. Col. Sweeney: "Come on your own accord, but you aren't riding with me."

The Lt. Col. sped off to the Base. When he arrived devistation prevailed. The enemy fighters had struck with precision. Most of his Fighter Squadron was destroyed on the ground. The Aviation Fuel Bunker had been ruptured, destroying three Barracks. The HQ was a smoldering pile of rubble and he had at least 75 Casualties. As the Doctor in charge of the Triage came running by the Lt. Col. grabbed him.

Lt. Col. Sweeney: "Doc, how bad is it?"

Doctor: "Pretty bad, they knew right where to hit us."

Lt. Col. Sweeney retreated to the Communications bunker under the Aircraft Control Tower to send a flash message to command.

As the live feed continued with HN News Joseph Grubel was reporting via a satellite phone as he rolled up to the AirBase. The carnage was awful. Men were laying in all states of injury in a make-shift triage outside the Base Hospital.

Joseph Grubel: "I have never seen anything like this. How could a peaceful place like this be attacked so viciously without provication? Wait just a minute we have word from a Free-lance reporter in the field something is happening on the Border. We take you live via satellite phone to Armen Kilty close to the Border with Kriegorgrad."

Armen Kilty: "Thank you Joseph. I am standing on a plateau overlooking the smoldering remains of a Hawdawg border checkpoint. Less than an hour ago Kreigorgrad Tanks and IFV's attacked this checkpoint, took the border guards prisoner and blew the building up. We were in the area photographing wildflowers, heard the explosions and when we looked down the pass what we saw was shocking. It appears a large force estimated at 200 tanks is moving towards your location in Kiruna. We were only able to take still photograph's of the vehicles but we have sent them via a secure link to the Broadcast center, they should have them shortly. Oh no, a Kriegorgrad soldier has found us. No don't, we are unarmed. (muffled noises). Silence."

Joseph Grubel: "We have lost communication with Armen. Lets hope everything is alright. I am told the studio has those pictures know."

As the Broadcast Studio posted the pictures on the Kreigorgrad Tanks and IFV's on National Television, the Prime Minister Josey Wales interrupted the broadcast for an urgent Message:
________________________________________________________________

Josey Wales: "To the Government of Kriegorgrad. Less than an hour ago a forward AirBase in Kiruna was destroyed by Kriegorgrad Fighters. We have a tape of the transmissions between the pilots and there homebase. We will air these tapes shortly. We also have tapes of our Border Checkpoint ZULU Officer calling for help because 200 tanks are moving towards his position. These tapes combined with the still photographs and video seen earlier on this station are insermountable proof your country wishes for hostilities with the peaceful nation of Hawdawg. We thought we could be neighbor's apparently we misjudged you. We did not start this action but we will finish it. Today I call on our Allies to assist us in repelling the foreign troops from our country. May god have mercy on your soul."

_________________________________________________________________

As the Prime Minister finished, the tapes of the Pilots were played along with the frantic calls for aid from the Border Checkpoint. This combined with the video footage and still photographs was shocking. The hand had been dealt now the chips would fall were they may............

The Empire of Cotland hereby officially comdemn the Kriegos attacks on Hawdawgian Sweden. This is but the last in a long series of incidents and border violations preformed by Kriegorgrad. The Empire further demands that Kriegorgrad offer an official appology and demilitarize Norway. If this does not occur, military action will take place. The High Command are ordering the forces already in position in Sweden to go to the highest alert and be ready to strike back should the appology and demilitarization messages not be recieved. Ye be warned.

Imperial Government of Cotland

All units currently stationed in Norway will be put on active alert. The Fallschirmjäger and Panzer Divisions already there are prepared to defend their ally, Hawdawg, in this time of need.

Back in Kriegorgrad, entombed within the Ministry of Defence, the Oligarchs were enraged. Sat around the long table, the group conversed in angry tones that echoed through the dark meeting room.

"Lies! All lies!" cried Mustapha Krin, his pale skin pulled taut over his fragile bone structure, black, greasy hair slicked back, forming a stark contrast to the man on the other side of the temple, his main source of opposition: Henry Reen. The thick set man had a protruding jaw, lending him an undeserving air of ignorance.

"Well then Mustapha, I think we've gathered that the tripe proffered up by the hounds at Hawdawg is little more than a mess of lies, however, what are we to do about it!?"

"Well Henry, we are a council, it is our job as a group to decide what to do" snapped Mustapha, his pale lips curling back in distaste to reveal a dark, incarnadine maw in which resided small, almost feline teeth.

"And I was just about to get to that!"

The bickering went on for hours.

*****

It is apparent that this "evidence" proffered by Hawdawg is little more than a badly told lie, concocted by the overactive children ruling the crude nation of Hawdawg. Why would Kriegorgrad not unleash a full assault? Kriegos Military Doctrine dictates that if an invasion is necessary, it must be done very quickly and brutally. We don't scrape around the edges, we charge in spear first.

We suggest that North Germania and Cotland both reconsider their actions, seeing as there is absolutely no need for either of them to support a nation led by a lying scoundrel.

The Oligarch of Kriegorgrad, Comrade Leader Nikolai Fedorenkov

Norway was ablaze with military activity, warehouses that had long since gathered dust were cracked open, the shipping lanes between the UK and Norway were in full swing and the roads were bustling with military traffic, trucks; canvases on and off, filled with merry faced soldiers off to prepare for Nikolai's holy war, each and every one of them equipped with propaganda addled mind, an aging weapon and a tattily made uniform; a small red star stapled onto the collar of their fatigues, reminiscent of the old Maoist soldiers.

The crescendo of the Kriegos army's mobilisation was mirrored by the increase of propaganda posters all over Norway, the endless tide threatened to trick one into believing that the posters were the wall.

Secret IC

The last satellite pass was sixteen hours ago. The results showed normal operations being conducted in Northern Ireland, Britain, and Norway. This new pass would come well after the public statement by the Kriegorgrad government addressing the "attack" against Hawdawg. The Empire of Layarteb had no official stance on the matter. They were just monitoring.

"Alright sir, we have a pass. We'll have the images downloaded in another sixteen second." One of the controllers said as he watched the path of the satellite go to the east. "Downloading has begun." The satellite would be transmitting its data at a speed of some 24 terabytes per second. The information it had just gathered would amass a total of 384 terabytes. There would be a total of 484 images, all of which were from resolutions of a square meter to a thousand square kilometers.

The data was immediately sent to the main workstation a computer capable of storing some 100 exabytes of memory, which was over a million times more than a single terabyte. There, four high resolution monitors, each 36" in size, would display the images or they could send them to a single display on the wall some twenty feet high by thirty feet across with crystal clear resolution.

"Sir, it's just what we expected, increased military activity. Serious increases in Norway. Quite a lot of traffic on the roads, lots of trucks, military by nature. Shipping lanes look like they're getting active as well between Britain and Norway. This is definitely serious." One of the commanders said.

"Alright, keep an eye on it. I'll brief the Emperor. See what the possibility of a U-2 or SR-71 flight is." The Minister of Intelligence said as he left.

OOC: Krieg. What kind of air defenses do you have? Also in the defense sheet RomeW has he has everyone putting in their military forces. You ought to do that to avoid confusion.

(OOC: I assume that the plans here stays confidential, save for NG and Hawdawg)

IC: The reply from Kriegorgrad came with the threaths of destruction, death and eternal torment. The usual stuff you could expect from Kriegorgrad. This didn't persuade the Emperor that the invasion was the proper thing to do though. Instead he issued orders to the naval squadrons in Franz Josef and the White Sea to start raids against Kriegos shipping.

Four hours after the orders were issued, the first battleships, cruisers, destroyers, frigates and subs started to depart the base, heading for blocking positions near Norway and Britain. They were followed two hours later by supply vessels with heavy escorts. Subs would be an important part of the plan, being able to sneak in and fire deadly torpedoes and cruise missiles towards the Kriegos shipping. Surface combatants would attract the attention of the escort vessels while the subs moved in and sunk shipping and soldiers. Some battleships would even fire cruise missiles into Scotland, to attempt to attract the attention of the Kriegos away from Norway. All in all, the attack included much of the active northern fleet.

In Sweden, the Cottish divisions took up positions ready to invade Norway. Tanks, IFVs and artillery were all aimed at the Kriegos. "Operation Norwegian Liberation", the codename for the Cottish actions in the war, had begun.

Message to Kriegorgrad

The Empire of Cotland have reviewed the evidence provided by Hawdawg, and come to the conclusion that the evidences are real. We further wish to announce our public disgust over the Kriegos leadership, and that the people of Norway and, God willing, Britain shall soon be free. Consider this an official decleration of war. All Kriegos citizens in Cotland shall be apprehended and detained untill we have found a suitable way of disposing of them. All Kriegos shipping are now eligable for immediate sinking without the need to issue warnings to the crew first, as per the laws of war. We have our casus belli, and will now act on it. Ye be warned.

OFFICIAL RESPONSE

As Prime Minister of The Holy Republic of Hawdawg I am a reasonable man. I am disheartened the Nation of Kriegorgrad would question my resolve or character with accusations so grevious in nature. To make such inflammatory statements is, at best, a slap in the face of the decent way of life the Citizens of this great nation lead. We can't help a down-trodden nation like yours, with one of the poorest populaces in Europe must stoop to such a barbarious act to try and "steal" a lifestyle communism will never achieve. Mark my words our democracy will previal, for the sake of Europe we must. If you demand war sir, you shall have it. May the Populace of Hawdawg make a mark on Europe that will shine as a beacon for other troubled nations to envy. As of this moment, I am officially activating the Hawdawg National Guard and recalling all troops on leave to there respective bases.

ZULU HOUR
Kermit Air Force Base (Strategic Air Command)
Underground Command Center

As the Prime Minister finished his official response Generals had hurriedly broke open the Code book for the Assault of Norway. The check list for MISSION HAMMER was looked at in detail. These plans, maticulous in nature, had been hashed out over the previous year from a huge cache of satellite imagery and Aurora Survelliance Flights that skimmed the borders of Norway. The Air Force was responsible for the initial wave of attacks and they had to get this right.

General Watts: Have the bombers been scrambled?

Col. Tombs: Yes sir, we have 6 Wings of Stealth Strike Fighters some 576 F-177A Strike Fighters from Cuero, Alpine, and Shepherd Air Force Bases on standby, target data has been transferred and they are awaiting the go codes for MISSION HAMMER.

General Watts: Very well, you have my permission. Launch, Launch, Launch.

The Col. pulled down his headset receiver and barked the GO command. In what looked like a perfectly corriographed exercise the fires from afterburners kicked on the huge force took off heading for points inside Norway. Logistics and Infastructure we the targets on this night. Soon the Military Bases and Warehouses within Norway would be ablaze. Another important target were the numerous Air Defense Platforms, these would meet a firey end if they switched on there tracking units.

General Watts: Is the second wave of Bombers ready?

Col. Tombs: Yes, we have 8 Wings of our Non-Conventional Bombers ready for the second wave. 264 B-2's, 96 F-22's as escorts, and 96 F-35 JSF's are assembled for this task. The F-22's and F-35's will serve as Radar and AA buster's. We will pummel the infastructure before the sun rises tomorrow.

General Watts: Very well, these two waves MUST destroy or severely cripple the outer ring of defenses close to the Border tonight. Put 5 of the Fighter Wings in the Air, I want round the clock border patrols. I also want Shore Patrols too. Nothing sneaks in under the umbrella, men. Put 3 A-10 Wings up over the border at daylight and destroy all enemy troop movements within 20 miles of the border.

Col. Tombs: Consider it done, sir.

Gen. Watts: Call, Prime Minister Wales and notify him we have commenced MISSION HAMMER.

Col. Tombs: Very well sir.

A phone rang in the Prime Minister's residence, when he picked it up he knew what it was about. The ball was rolling know it was just a matter of time.

OOC: Krieg. how about posting your forces in the WW thread, so we can have a look-see at whats in Norway. I would like a heads up for targeting information. I will wait until you do this so we can maintain accuracy in the thread.

The satellite pass was good. It explain a lot and particularly showed that there wasn't much hostility in Ireland. Still, the EOL had to look out for its interests. The plan was to do a high altitude flight of an SR-71A Blackbird over Kriegorgrad territory. The SR-71 would take off from New York, refuel just after take off, fly the way to the United Kingdom and Norway, perform reconnaissance, refuel over southern Ireland and fly back. The journey would be made at an altitude of 95,000 feet and Mach 3.0. Kriegorgrad's air defense system was spearheaded by the Bloodhound Mk II SAM, which could reach an altitude of just over 75,000 feet and engage within an envelope of around 115 miles. Still, the SR-71 was out of its engagement envelope. Whether it would be detected or not was a mystery but there was no doubt that it could not be shot down. What fighters the Kriegorgrad air force possessed they were out-dated and certainly incapable of catching the SR-71 in a tail chase or engaging it effectively.

The SR-71A Blackbird approached the Irish coast at 0200 and would make a route right over Northern Ireland, then down the entire isle of Britain from north to south, then up Norway, from south to north. Then it would refuel over Ireland and fly back to its base in New York.

At 0215, the SR-71A Blackbird entered Kriegorgrad airspace over Northern Ireland. Now it was a matter of if it was detected or not. It was flying without any active sensors on and it was naturally stealthy, to radar at least. Unarmed, she would be able to take hundreds and thousands of photographs.

At the Norwegian border, the Cottish 6th Division was ready to fight against the Kriegos forces. Soon the fireworks would begin, according to the officers. The NCOs and privates all said their prayers, in which they prayed for the Emperor, their brothers in arms and allies, themselves, their cause and the poor people of Kriegorgrad. They did not pray for the Kriegos soldiers, who would surely die in a hail of 6.8mm and 7.62mm rounds fired from Cottish weapons. Morale was on top.

Norwegian Sea

+6 ZULU Hour

Eight SSN-688 Los Angeles Class and eight Seawolf Class Submarines skimmed along at 95% power racing towards the Shipping lanes between Norway and Britain. This advance sub party was attached to Task Force AMFED. With the rough seas the main Task Force was being delayed. The submarines had the ability to move under the weather and they would arrive on target much sooner than the surface fleet. Of particular concern to the Task Force was Iceland, more specifically the large Fleets of the Superpower Hogsweat. Task Force AMFED had been monitoring Iceland for movement and when nothing appeared to move out of port, they proceded with there mission, to disrupt the massive movement of men and material from mainland Britan to Norway. This would be the Achilles Heel of Kriegorgrad and one the Hawdawg Navy planned to exploit. The terrain itself in Norway combined with the relentless storms of the Norwegian Sea, limited the locations of large Harbors to a minimum. It was the task of this group to systematically destroy these targets through any means necessary. As the Task Force moved towards there objective a message was sent to the Defense Ministry.

Encrypted 64-Bit

Moving towards Norwegian Harbors on Western Shore. Heavy seas make going slow. Sent Submarines ahead to assess and disrupt until surface fleet can arrive. ETA Submarines 48 hours. ETA Surface Fleet 96 hours. Expect heavy resistance.

Carrier Battle Groups ZEBRA and ZULU along with Battle Strike Groups TIFTON and STONEWALL steamed North at 18 Knots towards the Skagerrak Channel. Resistance was expected to be heavy. Fighter cover for the fleet was on high alert as they moved to sever the sea ties Oslo had with mainland Britain. The plan was simple string out a picket blocking the channel forcing all supplies to be flown into Norway. They had to choke off Oslo so the soon to be launched land force would have an easy go of it.

Admiral Pryor sent his message to the Defense Ministry to update his fleets progress.

Encypted 64 Bit

"Well then! What are we to do!" Squawked Mustapha, wiping some sweat from his pale brow, glaring at Henry, sat calmly on the other side of the table.

"You know what we are to do, we will hold Norway and Britannia as long as we can, should that fail, we will enact the NLS doctrine"

"NLS! Are you mad! Those are colonies you fool, not hostile targets!" roared Mustapha, spit flying onto the dark, spartan table.

"NLS is a clean, efficient solution."

"Is that what you're calling it Henry!"

"What else are we to call it?"

"An act of evil!"

"You and I both know that evil is perspective, a solution is a solution."

"Scorched earth comrade."

"Indeed, now onto our last resorts."

"DEFCON 1."

"Indeed."

All over Norway and Britain, the news of DEFCON 1 came into affect and the Fedorite Youth groups were promoted to "battle ready", fourteen year olds were given Enfields and a day of training before being drafted into the army as the newly founded "Proletarian Youth Guard", mainly tasked with defending towns, the boys took up arms and awaited their foe with baited breath. Morale was up and everyone was on edge, anxious to smite down the foes of Kriegorgrad.

Meanwhile, the army groups were now in position, outposts and bases were being entrenched while cities were fortified with Proletarian Guardsman and the Youth Guard, in less conspicuous places though, the elite Ordos Fedor moved about, small packs of the Fedorites contemplating their moves for when the armies of Hawdawg and Cotland attacked.

Meanwhile, the shipping runs of the British-Norwegian channel came an end, the shipping was forced to stay at their end of the channel. Lockdown was in effect.

The satellite images came in steadily. By now, the Imperial Military Intelligence (IMI) had at least one satellite over Norway at any given time. In this exact moment it was a KH-19 Silverstar spy satellite equipped with infrared, thermal and ordinary color cameras, ground penetrating radar and a small nuclear reactor so it could manouver. At this time, it was watching the Cottish and Hawdawgian forces who were in defensive positions near Strömstad (6th Cottish Division), Backa (10th and 19th Cottish Division), Charlottenberg (12th and 20th Cottish Division) and Gällesbyn (40th Cottish Division and 4th Cottish Marine Expeditionary Unit). The 2nd Air Defense Group were divided and positioned at those towns and villages as well, providing excellent air defense for the allied forces.

On the ground in the Cottish positions, sheets of paper were handed out to the soldiers there, Cottish, Hawdawgian and Germanian (OOC: are NG still in this?) alike.

Yelm
30-04-2005, 00:01
OOC: Kriegorgrad accepted my proposal to help him.

King Erik Von Yelm XI stared out from the dark entrance of the Antartic cave. He was wearing his traditional clothing, layered seal skin clothing, his long sword at his side, and his kryie crown. For several days now the king had been in deep thought, talking to no one he kept to himself, except for his son of course who continiously asked him what was amiss. "Nothing that concerns you yet my son." was the king reply. The king had been standing in the unbearable cold, and frost covered Entrance Chamber. Along the walls electric torches barely enough to light the massive chamber. Finally the king called from his portable radio to his assistant. "Alexander, call for the Council of Three." After waiting for several seconds a reply echoed back, "Yes m'lord." The king took a long look back out to the frozen wasteland before retreating to his Royal Meeting Chamber. By the time he reached the room Chief Warlord Salavas Jaroslav V, and Prince Jon Yelm VI were waiting.

The two expected the king to announce some new economic, or relief plan for their newly acquired african territories. This thought quickly disappeared as they saw the grim face of their beloved king. "What's wrong father?" asked Jon. The king looked at his son, taking in a deep breath he spoke, "There comes a time in every rulers life when he must make a decision. This decision could lead to the rulers downfall, or lead to his moment of complete glory. I believe this decision I make now will either be my downfall, or my greatest moment." He paused, as the two warlords’ sit on the edge of their seats. "An alliance of nations have begun mobilizing their militaries to strike at the nation called Kriegorgrad. The evidence for attacking Kriegorgrad is a bit sketchy but that’s not our objective. One of the nations attacking Kriegorgrad is Hawdawg. He is a fairly powerful nation, both militarily and politically. The nation also controls Sweden and Finland, home of both the Grimm and Jaroslav families. They have our homeland under their control and now we have an opportunity to take it back. For too long has the greedy hands of imperialist pigs reaped the benefits of our homeland. I call for your support in mobilizing our entire military to take back what is ours. To claim what has been lost. To take our rightful seat as the rulers of Sweden and Finland… I can only do all this with your full support.” The two warlords sat silently, digesting what the king had just said. The king got up from his seat and walked over to the fireplace, it’s warm pleasing to his cold skin.

A sudden voice he recognized as his son spoke, ”My armies, and navies will be mobilized at once.” The king smiled, he waited several more seconds for Warlord Jaroslav’s reply. ”My armies shall march as well… Our forces will be spread thin however. With our newly acquired African territories we are now obligated to maintain and control a large area.” The king turned from the fireplace and faced the warlord. ”I have already figured this out. Our military shall send all of our A Class Divisions to the battle. Our fleet will do so as well. Then Class B Divisions will be put on reserve and Class C divisions will maintain our territories. Ensure that our factories are producing maximum quantity. Our divisions will need arms, tanks, aircraft, and ships to ferry them across the sea. See to it that it is done.” Both of the warlords’s nodded and stood up. Both bowed and walked away from the meeting chamber.

All across the frozen wasteland men scurried to and from every cave system, spreading the news of the massive mobilization. Masses of men, women, and children stood in the Announcement Chambers, listening to the Speakers read off the orders of the king. In Africa Class A divisions began preparing to move out. After being in almost constant combat in West Africa they were certainly tired, but their spirits where as high as ever. Ships of war began forming into their standard fleets, and factories in Africa, and Ecuador began pouring out arms, tanks, aircraft, ships, uniforms, BDUs, ammunition, MREs, and other essential war materials. Class B and Class C divisions began mobilization and training for Class A divisions increased by nearly three times standard procedure. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Greetings. My nation has been watching intently the war which is unfolding at your doorsteps. Indeed I do believe the odds are against you, around half a dozen or so imperialist pigs are eager for war against your humble nation.
Their evidence could be interpreted in many ways, in truth; I believe that this entire fiasco was established in order for the imperialist pigs to acquire new land. Seeing your plight my nation is willing to make an agreement between our two nations. I shall assist you in the defense of your nation with all my military might. In return you will have to assist me in retaking my homeland of Sweden and Finland. The taking of Sweden and Finland will of course take place after the defense of your territories has been assured.
Either way my nation marches to war. We shall take Sweden and Finland with your help or without. I believe it would be easier for both of us to combined our might and to destroy those that inhabit my land, and those that wish to inhabit yours. I await your response.”

3AM Local Time
25,000 FT over Norway

As random AA fire started to crack at altitude the pilots turned on there inflight targeting systems. The enemy knew they were there, but the Stealth technology made tracking them difficult. It always made a man nervous turning over the controls to the plane and letting it fly itself to the target but this made for more accurate hits. Technology had come a long way since the hang out the window and look to see what you hit days.

The waves orders were clear take out the existing AA and Missile batteries, military warehouses, and Bases in and around the invasion routes. The targeted cities tonight would include: Halden, Fredrikstad, Sarpsborg, Oslo, Lillestrom, Magnor, Kongsvinger, Trondheim, and Mo i Rana. It was predetermined the targets of interest around the Cities of Oslo and Lillestrom would be the most numerous so the entire 326th Wing a full complement of 96 planes, would handle this target. The remaining planes would divide up among the each of the other targets some 60 per city to drop there ordinance. The weapon of choice for these first strike raiders was the GBU-27 Bomb. If all went according to plan this wave would make a significant dent in the Air Defense network. Timing as always was everything and with the use of the targeting computers each bomb would fall on or about 3:30 AM.

Flight Leader Baker: Listen Up, Pickles hot we are past the point of no return. Focus and let the plane do it work, gentlemen. See you on the other side.

Bomb doors opened as the pilots set to drop the two GBU-27's they carried on target. Flak was hitting all around the planes as they made there run. Each plane had "painted" its target, guiding the bomb to its destination. On the left two fighters took direct hits and immediately became engulfed in flames. On the right of Flight Leader Baker five more planes met a similar fate. The cloud of flak was unbelievably thick, almost a inpenetrable wall of exploding steel and powder. The night was lit up by the glow of the fires these weapons started. A similar fate was being played out in all targeted towns tonight.

Defense Ministry HQ
Stockholm, Sweden

As the reports of the first wave of strategic bombers finding targets came in, cheers came from the tense officers and enlisted men working the war room. It took Defense Minister Davis to bring them back to reality.

Defense Minister Davis: GENTLEMEN, GENTLEMEN, this was only the beginning the start of a long calculated battle. We must keep all things in perspective, and we have a long way to go before we will have something to cheer about. I would ask that we have a moment of silence for the brave souls that lost there lives tonight doing the bidding of there country.

After the pause Defense Minister Davis turned to the Communication Center to send the latest orders.

Defense Minister Davis: Send the GO to the Bombers. Targets of opportunity in Oslo, Trondheim, Bodo and Narvik. Get them off the ground as fast as possible, I want them back in Hawdawdg territory before sunrise.

Airforce Bases around the province came alive as the bomber crews throttled up there planes and thundered down the runway heading into the night looking to add to the damage the first wave had inflicted on the Kiegos military structure.

As the Communications officer finished this order, Defense Minister Davis then stepped forward with another.

Defense Minister Davis: Order the 1st and 2nd Armored Divisions along with the 5th and 6th Light Armored Divisions to move immediately on Halden from there assembly point in Uddevalla. 3rd and 4th Armored along with 2nd and 3rd Light Armored Divisions are to move to secure Magnor and Kongsvinger. 5th and 6th Armored Divisions along with 1st and 2nd Mechanized Infantry will need to move to secure Teveldalen from Ostersund. Notify the 7th Armored Division and 3rd Mechanized Infantry to move to secure Mo i Rana from Storuman. The 10th Armored and 4th Mechanized Infantry will move on Narvik from Kiruna. Lastly inform the 88th Airborne Infantry and 102nd Mechanized Infantry they will jump on Mo i Rana tomorrow evening after the Armor starts its advance into Norway. Get this information out so we can start the move. And notify the Cotts and North Germania, I am sure they are ready to get there boys on the move.

After the message was sent, troops scrambled for vehicles gearing up for the assault they had been planning for months. The men knew there mission, now it was time to act. As the caravan of tanks, troops and material winded towards the looming target of Norway.

OOC: This is alot to digest in one post so here is a recap:

Major Targeted cities: Halden, Fredrikstad, Sarpsborg, Oslo, Lillestrom, Magnor, Kongsvinger, Trondheim.

Targets of interest: Military facilities, AA batteries, Missile sites.

Lost planes: 7 (I took a little creativity here since I don't know your defensive layout, would be willing to adjust this number after you post)

Second wave has launched not in Norway Airspace yet.

The following Divisions are on the move towards Norway:

From Ostersund: 1st, 2nd Mech. Inf. and 5th, 6th Armored towards Teveldalen
From Storuman: 7th Armored and 3rd Mech Inf. moving towards Mo i Rana
From Uddevalla: 1st, 2nd Armored and 5th, 6th Light Armored moving towards Halden.
From Kiruna: 10th Armored and 4th Mech. Inf. moving towards Narvik.

On Mo i Rana: 88th Airborne Inf. and 102nd Mech. Airborne will be dropped tomorrow evening on target. (but you wouldn't be aware of this naturally)

The sky was lit up with the aging flak cannons along with the considerably more accurate missile systems, great plumes of smoke were left illuminated when the missiles found their marks. All over the cities, men, women and children were making their way towards the tube stations, the shuffle of feet filled the city under the ever incessant drone of klaxons which in turn fought for airwaves with the booms the booms and bright flashes of anti aircraft fire. The hiss and screech of missiles overhead and the explosions that rocked the tube kept the frightened men and women on their toes.

The Youth Guard and the Proletarian Soldiers were busy making barricades in an attempt to force the Hawdawgian (ooc what's the adjective?) military into bottle necks with varying degrees of success, one group thought by piling plywood furniture, they could stop tanks...

Meanwhile, substantial numbers of MIG-21 tore off the worn tarmac of the numerous airfields over Kriegorgrad, at least the ones that weren't ablaze from the cruel accuracy of the Hawdawgian aircraft.

Very good. At the moment we have two airborne divisions ready for deployment, a total of 30,000 soldiers plus equipment. A wing of C-5s, and C-17's will be ordered to launch once you tell us where they are needed most. Also a flight of 24 F/A-91A aircraft will be providing fighter escort for the voyage.
Expect many more soldiers once the mobilization has been completed. This is only a small taste of what we are going to be bringing

OOC: Kreigorgrad, am I to just fly my SR-71A Blackbird over your airspace undetected or what?

As the SR-71A Blackbird screamed into Kriegorgrad airspace at 85,000 feet and Mach 3.05, the pilot checked his RWR. He was a veteran, this being his 125th flight in the same SR-71. He had flown over Northern Indiana, the Caribbean, and throughout most of six continents. He and his reconnaissance systems officer were some of the best in the Imperial Layartebian Space Command.

"Mack, what do you see?"

"A whole lotta activity Wilkie. It looks like all hell is breaking loose down there."

"Roger that. I'll keep my eye on the RWR. It's slow now, just a few Bloodhound systems searching, nothing that can tag us, that's for sure."

"Just keep on it. I don't want to be ejecting at this height."

"We might as well just go down with the plane." They shared a laugh and were now well over Kriegorgrad airspace, flying a southerly course down the isle of Britain where they would then fly towards Norway and fly a northerly course over it.

The Fallschirmjäger Divisions stationed in Sweden had been prepped for assault, which seemed imminent at this point.

The 4th, 7th, and 9th Panzer Divisions also stationed in Sweden had been moved closer to the border with Norway. Ships based in Poland had sent a classified number of Kormoran-II Self-Propelled Missile Launchers to support the Panzer Divisions in the battle.

In Denmark, ten U-219 Ultra-Stealth Attack Submarines left harbor and headed towards the waters separating Britain and Norway. The shipping lines would be constantly harrassed by these nearly invisible war machines.

In Germany and Lithuania, fifty of the new FS-16 Ultra-Stealth Fighters were readied to launch against any hostile aircraft. All they needed was the sign from Hawdawg or Cotland.

All along the coasts of France, Denmark, Germany, Poland, and Lithuania, Long-Range Stationary Kormoran-III Missile Systems were armed and ready. The numerous SAM sites were activated, while naval and air patrols flew over the coasts of Germanian lands in Europe, searching for any hostile actions.

The 12th, 16th, 21st, and 30th Reichswehr Divisions, along with the 14th and 19th Panzer Divisions, stationed in Germany were being organized into transport ships, headed to Sweden...

The dealers of death were in the air. These slow lumbering giants were not as nice as there strategic cousins. B-52's and B-1's relied on one thing and one thing only saturation bombing. The bombers were divided into Squadrons of 10 B-1B's and 10 B-52's. Fighter escort included 4 FB-111's, 4 F-16's, 4 Su-34's, and 4 EF-2000 Typoon's. There primary mission was to see the bombers made it to target. Target data was input in the onboard computer, as usual, but the devestation and destruction these machines of war would cause would be catestrophic. Each B-52 could take out one square mile with its bomb load alone. The Mk82 and Mk84 were cruel weapons indeed.

Radio Chatter
Bomber Wing Flint
Over Norway

Flight Leader O'dool (call sign Talon): Heavy flak reported. Bomber's set to max altitude maybe we can fly over some of it. Where is my fighter cover?

Fighter Cover Leader Conner (call sign Mabel): Talon, this is Mabel, go ahead.

Talon: Mabel we have mutiple inbounds bearing SSW, might be Mig-21's, over. Looking Glass, can you confirm?

Looking Glass (AWACS flight over Sweden): Roger, Talon. Multiple bogeys bearing 209er SSW moving towards you in an expedited manner. Looks like indians, we have no planes in that location, over. (EXPLICATIVE), multiple bogeys popping up everywhere. Be advised, all bomber wings, multiple bogeys on the map check your six. Fighter cover be on your toes. Looking Glass, out.

Mabel: Roger, alright A Squad peel off and engage incoming MIG's, over.

Squad leader A (call sign Frog): Roger, engaging.

Frog and his flight of EF-2000 Typhoon's peeled off and kicked the afterburner to engage the incoming threat ahead of the formation. The flak was picking up, the bombers must be near there targets.

Frog: Talon, we have them on radar. Lock, and Tone. Peel right on my mark, 3, 2, 1. Mark. Peel and Fox1, Missile away. Bank hard, release chaff, now. Link, Link punch out, punch out!

Out in front of the Bomber group this ballet of fire played out. One EF-2000 Typhoon spiraled to the ground out of a huge fireball. An inbound missile had found its mark. The dogfight was on.

Talon: Mabel, get up there and help. We have a package to deliver.

Mabel: Roger, engaging.

Four SU-34's tore off to engage the ever evolving dogfight out in front of the bomber wing. The 4 remain FB-111's and F-16's stayed with the bombers to make sure no one snuck in behind them. The fires down below were visible even at this altitude.

Talon: Bombay doors open, green light means go. On my mark 4, 3, 2, 1, Greenlight. Bombs away. Bombs away.

As the weight of the bombs left the airframes the bombers shot up almost relieved from the strain of the bomb load. As they released, the flak cannons ranged them. 2 B-52's took direct fuelsage hits and evaporated in the night sky. But the damage was done, on the ground the waves of Mk 84 bombs punched holes in the infastructure of the Kriegos military machine, leveling city blocks. It was like a Tsunami of steel and fire.

On the Ground
Approaching Halden
1st and 2nd Armored Division
5th and 6th Light Armored Division

The sight of the Armored Column's moving towards Halden was impressive. The workhorse of the Hawdawg Armored Division was the Iron Cheetah MBT each Division sported 290 of these beasts with a contingency of 27 M1A2 Abrams in support. The Light Armored Division followed with the Stingray II and Kit Fox models. Overhead the RAH-66A's provided air support for the ground forces. As the caravan rolled upto the border, Col. Lyons 1st Armored Tank Commander broadcast a message.

Col. Lyons: Gentlemen, today we embark on a crusade a crusade to take back a land that once belonged in our dominion. We shall lay claim to it whatever the cost. God speed, men. God speed. FIRE!

The border checkpoint exploded in a hail of shell fire. As smoke rose from the ashes, a RAH-66A put one hellfire missile into the complex just for good measure. The first encounter with resistance was almost laughable.

Col. Lyons: What is this Furniture, as a tank trap? What were they thinking?

The Kriegos had devised a vengeful plan, force the armor into narrows where fire could be concentrated. On the edge of Halden, Col. Lyons observed this dilemma. As small arms fire bounced off his tank. The night of bombing had destroyed some key targets but many buildings still stood.

Col. Lyons: Hum, well this is a pickle. They want to bottleneck our tanks in town and destroy them that way. Fire support to the front. Spread the tank's out in a half moon shape and push into the city. Any street that is blocked call in fire support to destroy the blockage. Arty, destroy all buildings above two stories, we don't want arty being called in on us. Walk your rounds 50 meters in front of our tanks. That will keep there heads down. Infantry will ride up to town in there IFV's and mop up in house to house, once all multilevel buildings are destroyed. Get it done men.

The group of Crusaders and M1064 Mortars moved to the front and started to pummel the city, as the MBT's spread out for the slow approach to town. This plan would take awhile and this had Col. Lyons concerned.

While the Yelmish interference wasn't totally expected, it doesn't suprise us. We have recieved overtures from Yelm for quite some time about reclaimed there "homeland". The nation of Hawdawg has repelled them before and we will thwart them again.

We are experiencing heavy resistance in Norway. The Kreigos Air Force was not completely destroyed in the bombing campaign as we had hoped. They are still fielding MIG-21's to intercept our bombers. Requesting assistance with your stealth fighter wing. We currently have 8 Fighter/Interceptor squadrons working the border airspace. You have the radar signature of all of our planes, so enemy targets should be easy for your crews to select. Make no mistake about it Norway is a target rich environment. AA and SAM's batteries are everywhere. We have been flying RADAR busting sorties all day and haven't made much of a dent. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

We are also releasing a "Dog Pack" of Submarines to harass Yelmish shipping. We would like your assistance in crippling his fleet before it arrives from Antarctica. We have a large surface fleet that is being readied for dispatch to intercept his flotilla off the coast of Africa. We would like you to focus on destruction of all "Major" Battleships, and heavy BattleCruisers with the submarine fleet. I have the utmost confidence your submariners can handle this task. We currently have the shipping lanes blocked between Britain and Norway with our AMFED Battle Group. We also have all access to Oslo blocked via a picket of 4 Combat Groups in the Skagerrak Channel. A reroute of your submarines south would be much more vital at this juncture.

Already five hundred vessels began forming the immense formation, another five hundred were due to arrive within a week. This fleet was to be the first large Yelmish unit into the combat area. It's purpose was to clear the Atlantic, and safeguard Kriegorgrad held territory. The 2nd Expeditionary Grand Fleet was more of a transport fleet for several marine divisions. Outside Tistedal (59° 08' N, 11° 26' E)

The lead tank of the 10th Cottish Division moved towards the town of Tistedal when it encountered loads of kids carrying antiquated rifles and furniture. This was not what the Cots expected. I mean, they were facing kids! Highly trained, well equipped professional soldiers fighting an army of kids! Kids not old enough to shave, drink beer or smoke, hiding behind plywood furniture roadblocks. The commander of the lead tank thought of this as he advanced towards the roadblock. He was interrupted in his thinking when the depleted uranium armor of his tank started to take hits from the old Enfield rifles that the kids were carrying. He decided that he had to do something.

"Load high explosive. Target is the roadblock, range four hundred meters. Fire when ready."

The 120mm main gun of the M1A3 Abrams tank fired a single round towards the furniture, at a place where there weren't so many kids. After he had fired, he turned on the loudspeaker that each Abrams carried.

"This is the Imperial Cottish Army. Drop your weapons and go home to your parents! We wish you no harm! This is a matter for men, not boys! We don't want to kill you, but we will do so if we have to!"

Sweat beaded on the pubescent brow, Gunter took a swig of his canteen as he saw the situation unfold, he saw his less worthy comrades taking pot shots at the tanks with mere rifles, the situation was one that was devious to say the least, Gunther knew that the morally correct nations in the world would rather not harm children and Gunther's Youth Platoon used this to full affect, at various levels on the street, within the shadowy windowsills of the higher stories, lurked Youth Guardsmen, anti-armour teams given basic training on how to fire and operate the RPG-7 system...

"Sir, Sir!" yelled the young surveillance officer, the moisture on his forehead reflecting in the green light of the RADAR console.

"What is dervik?" replied Captain Haig, rubbing his sleep hungry lids.

"A UFO! Sir! A UFO! Aliens sir!" squealed the excited officer.

"Don't be stupid, it's probably one of the spy planes, don't bother with it, we have enough problems as it is."

"So it's not an alien craft?"

"No."

"Shouldn't we shoot it down anyway?"

"It's likely one of the bastards from Hawdawg, give it hell!"

The computer systems prejudged the SR-71's course and the more advanced segments of the Kriegos Defence Net opened up, leaving plumes of smoke to scatter to the wind as the missiles closed on the "Hawdawgian" aircraft...

*****

Arbiter Kerib sat crouched in the nearby forest, as the massive column of Hawdawgian tanks rumbled past, he raised his hand to his ear and clicked on the communicator.

"Archon, we have them."

"Very well Arbiter, expect the MV-87's (http://s6.invisionfree.com/International_Mall/index.php?showtopic=1840) soon enough Comrade."

"Thank you sir."

"May Fedorenkov guide your shots!"

Kerib signalled to the rest of his squad, each and every one of them was a member of the Ordos Fedor, a fanatical elite arm of the mostly inept Kriegos military. Where the Proletarian Guard failed, the Ordos Fedor more than made up for, its brave and very potently trained soldiers were among the best in the world, the very small numbers of the Ordos allowed each soldier to reach his full potential and at last, they were being put into use against the enemies of the glorious Comrade Leader.

The whine of the Cobas rushing over the hill was consumed by the roar of missiles, twenty helicopters, each equipped with eight missiles, a mix of ATGM and AAM were unleashed on the tanks and gunships below in a display of smoke and flame, seconds later, the ATGM systems utilised by the Ordos Fedor within the bushes lit up, illuminating the shadows in the bushes with bright yellow light, as soon as the missiles were launched from the VEPR system, the Ordos Fedor were already on the move, the elite soldiers were fleeing through the forest back to their IFVs which would promptly leave the area altogether.

*****

Gunter saw his comrades down below get thrown in all directions, smashing into walls and through windows in a macabre display of children being thrown about like rag dolls. It was eerily silent and then suddenly, the tell tale hiss of an RPG being launched broke the silence, moments became an eternity as the RPG ever so slowly made its way toward the rear of the Abrams. The street then erupted with the banshee shrieks of other RPG’s being launched, the small smoke trails that told of the children’s’ location quickly became indecipherable as trails collided, shrouding the street in a thick veil of smoke, already, the Youth Guardsmen on the street were pulling back into alleyways and nearby buildings.

The most exciting game of their lives had just begun.

"RPG!!" the commander yelled just as the sole RPG slammed into the aft of the Abrams tank. It knocked the tracks off the tank, leaving it dead in the water. What it did not do, was disabling the weapons systems of the tank. Immediately the commander plotted the locations of the RPG nests on the IVIS for the other tanks and IFVs to see before he turned the turret of the tank and had the gunner start fire both the M240G 7,62 mm coaxial machine gun and the 120 mm cannon towards the nests. Behind the damaged M1A3, the other tanks and IFVs in the regiment started to manouver back and away from the incoming RPGs while firing their weapons towards the kids with the RPGs. In this tactical retreat, the Cots lost 2 tanks and 3 IFVs.

The Cots continued with their assault, and immediately called in artillery support from the battalion (18 cannons) of M2001 Crusader self-propelled 155mm cannons 20 kilometers behind the lines. They also called in the 24 AH-64D Apache Longbows and 12 RAH-66A Comanches that was part of the designated air support that the regiment had at its disposal. Before long (45 seconds), satellite guided 155mm shells were falling down on the village of Tistedal and the majority of the RPG nests and other defenses.

After the shelling, which lasted for about 8 minutes and about 500 shells later, the Cottish tanks started to advance yet again, this time with infantry on the flanks. They didn't care that they were fighting kids right now. They were going to take prisoners if possible (and if there were anyone left alive), but they wouldn't risk anything. They fired at anything that posed a threath to them with their XM-8s (6.8 x 43 mm) and M35 LMGs (7.62 x 51 mm). Primarily to wound the enemy, but they weren't too picky.

OoC: Cot, there aren't "RPG nests", there are just Boy Soldiers with RPG's moving about.

IC: Gunter felt cold fear fill him as machine gun fired shredded his position, he and his comrade hit the floor, when the dust settled and the sound of retreating Cottish tanks could be heard, only then did Gunter lift himself up and fear replace itself with excitement; followed by his comrade, he flew down the stairs and fled into the alley way to find some Proletarian Guardsmen (http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/worldwarone/images/scrpbk/scrpbk_soldier_dressingstation.jpg), the sergeant gave Gunter a harsh look.

"Nice job with the fucking tanks! I lost three squads when your little friends told us the street was clear," barked the sergeant, gravel grating his throat.

"S-s-sorry sir, it will not happen again, sir!"

"The names Harker, you thick little prick."

At that point, the tell tale whistle of incoming artillery alerted one of the Proletarian Guardsman.

"Sir! Incoming artillery, hit the deck!" cried out a soldier, his voice dimmed by the noise of imminent death.

"What Comrade!" called back the sergeant, in a tone much kinder than the one he had attacked Gunter with.

The resulting explosions ripped up the architecture, bricks went flying, destroyed mortar following in its wake, the entire squad hit the ground, hands over helmets for the older Guardsmen, praying for their lives for the younger Guardsmen: the ones without helmets. Gunter sneaked a peek at his comrade, his RPG man, adrenaline filled him as the roar of artillery erupted all around him, then, he saw it, what must have been a 50 kilogram lump of stone crushed the boy's head, it exploded like an over ripe melon, spattering Gunter in the crimson life fluid.

"Alright lads, everyone up!" bellowed the sergeant, already brushing the dust off his uniform.

"Well then, how many dead 'uns?" added Harker.

The same voice that heralded the artillery replied: "Don't know, three Guardsmen and two kids, pretty lucky if you ask me, His Fedorship din't want us to get fucked up all nice and proper, did 'e?"

"Damn right, we'll give 'im our prayers later, right now, we've got some foreign scum to kill, 'int'that right lads!"

The propaganda filled men cheered at the short and vulgar speech proffered up by the grizzled sergeant, the rumble of tanks in the distance quickly silenced the men's cheers.

"Alright lads, pipe bombs out, PIAT's up and lets bust us some tanks! Go for the rear of the tank, sten gunners, you cover the PIAT's and you bastards with the enfields, you cover the stenners! You get me lads!"

"Sir, yes sir!"

"Let's get out there and show those foreign bastards a thing or two about Kriegos resourcefulness!"

All over Tistedal, soldiers were moving about, various platoons making do with their meagre armaments, their ranks bolstered by the Youth Guardsmen (http://www.thewe.cc/thewei/bbc/_39214687_203hitleryouth.jpg), RPG's and PIAT's lurked in wait for both tanks and aircraft while sten guns and enfields waited for the over cocky Cottish infantry Gunter finally pulled himself up, with help from one of his boy soldier comrades, the excited adrenaline from before had evaporated: the game had just got serious.

"Enemy, eleven o'clock. Range three hundred."

"I'll take him with the twelve seven." the commander of the tank said before he climbed just enough up to reach his 12,7 x 99 mm XM-312 GPMG.

He quickly cocked it, before he fired small bursts of five to ten rounds per shot. Meanwhile the gunner rotated the turret and fired the 7,62 x 51 mm coax. MG on the kids with guns. On the outside of the tank, a company of infantry from the M2A3 Bradleys fired their rifles and light MGs on the kids that they saw. All of this happened while a modified Humvee equipped with loudspeakers kept telling the defenders that the Cots were here to help, and that the defenders had no chance of holding out against the Cottish soldiers. The wisest thing for the defenders would be to surrender, and get warm food, clean clothes, a warm bed, and the safety of knowing that they would be taken well care off by the Cots. This kept playing through the skirmish.

The Captain in command of the 4th Grenadier Company, 21st Armoured Regiment kept his men in the cover as best they could. The platoon (40 men) advanced at the same speed that the tanks did, shooting anyone with weapons. Then they came across a bunch of kids with what looked like ancient PIATs, Sten-guns and Enfield rifles. The platoon immediately threw themselves into cover and aimed their weapons at the kids. XM-8s, MP-5Ns, M35 LMGs, M21 sniper rifles, M45A1 pistols and, naturally, M4 Super 90 combat shotgun. They just couldn't gun down the kids though. Not before they were ordered to.

The Captain started to shout to the kids from behind the rock he was crouching behind.

"Don't fucking shoot! We're here to help you! Put down your guns so we can talk. Please. We just want to help you. Don't you understand? We're here to help you."

"We know you're lying! You capitalist dogs! Our glorious Comrade Leader Nikolai Fedorenkov told us of your foul and devious vices, we shall not be tempted by the luxuries of the bourgeoisie!" called out Gunter with zeal, after he and his boy soldiers threw themselves behind various chunks of masonry.

"Well actually...that sounds like a really good deal," said one of the less loyal boy soldiers, Gunter swivelled his head.

"What?!"

"Well...it's just that...you know."

"TRAITOR! I'd shoot you myself if we didn't need every soldier for this conflict!"

The young man simply swallowed his tongue and looked at his feet with shame plain in his face. Gunter shifted on the spot to look to his right, where the PIAT part of his squad was.

He whispered to them in a harsh tone.

"On my mark, launch your PIAT's at the rubble, the rubble which the tools of the bourgeoisie cower!"

"Yes sir" was the chorus muted hisses that came back.

"Okay...three...two...one...MARK!"

They would have been condemnated in Cotland, and the rest of the world for that matter. You live your lives in fear of the dictator you have been brainwashed to worship. Don't be fools! You know perfectly well that you don't stand a chance! Lower your weapons, and no harm will come to you! I give you my word as an officer in the Imperial Cottish Army!" the Captain told the boys just before they started shooting. "Good God, forgive me..." the Captain muttered before he started shouting out orders to his men over the tactical radios that each man carried.

"Squad two! Toss a few M84s (OOC: flashbangs), then flank left and knock them down. Squad three, flank right after the flashbangs. The rest will provide covering fire. Go!"

While the two squads under the captain fired shots towards the kids, the two squads in question (10 men per squad) tossed five flashbangs towards the kids and immediately after the explosion ran over while readying their riflebutts to knock the kids over with.

In the Forest outside Halden

As the column moved forward, the Col. Lyons sensed something was amiss. He couldn't put his finger on it. From out of nowhere Kreigos Cobra attack helicopters raked the column with missile fire. The lead tanks at the head of the column were instantly aflame, ordinance exploded as the fire cooked the HEAT rounds the tank carried.

Col. Lyons (call sign Peter Rabbit): Air cover, where is my damn air cover?!?!

As the microphone crackled a familiar voice came on.

Air Cavalry Squadron Flight leader Lt. Hamlin (call sign Femer): Peter Rabbit, this is Femer, go ahead.

Col. Lyons: Femer, where the hell are you guys? I just lost tanks in the forward column while you guys are lolligaging around in the rear with the gear. Get your asses up here. Enemy Helos are in the area.
They just walloped my front door, over.

Lt. Hamlin: Roger, Peter Rabbit. ETA 2 minutes. Do you have a fix on the enemy? over.

Col. Lyons: Yea, look east you SOB. over.

Lt. Hamlin: Roger that, we will attempt to intercept, Femer out.

As Col. Lyons called for his engineer's tank tending tractor to come forward and move the destroyed vehicles from the road, he called for additional air support.

Col. Lyons: Looking Glass, Looking Glass. This is Peter Rabbit.

Looking Glass (AWACS in Swedish Airspace): This is Looking Glass, go ahead.

Col. Lyons: Request air support, over.

Looking Glass: Flight 52, Flight 52, this is Looking Glass, over.

Flight 52 (A-10 Squadron): This is Flight 52, over.

Looking Glass: Proceed to sector 5, assist Peter Rabbit with ground targets.

Flight 52: Roger, turning now ETA target area 5 minutes. Pop smoke to ID friendlies, over.

Col. Lyons: Popping smoke, now.

As the squad of A-10's turned for Halden, the pilots braced for the worst. Col. Lyons flipped a switch and lauched a purple cannister of smoke beside his Iron Cheetah Tank. Hopefully the A-10 pilots would be able to pick out his armored column from above. Maybe they would get lucky and get a fix on the Kreigos Cobra's before they moved too far away for the Air Cavalry to engage them.

Col. Lyons then made a brash decision. He called for an infantry unit.

Col. Lyons: What's the closest infantry unit? Ok, Blue Dog it is. Blue Dog, Blue Dog. Proceed to a flanking position, pop smoke and unload two squads to investigate Hill #35 to our NE, over.

Blue Dog (Blue mech. Infantry Unit): Roger, deploying now.

As the large group of IFV's moved to the flank doors swung open and troops poured out carefully moving up to investigate Hill #35.

Defense Minister Davis rapidly chewed the end of his Cigar. He was a chain smoker of these Havanana's and he had something worriesome on his mind. He spoke freely to the Joint Council of the Armed Forces.

Defense Minister Davis: Gentlemen, things aren't going as rapidly as I would like and a large force is assembling off the horizon to come to the aide of Kriegorgrad. The latest Satellite images of the Southern Atlantic have confirmed this.

Navy Vice Admiral Hienz: Sir, we have 8 SSN-688 Los Angeles Class Fast Attack Submarines stationed with the 1st MEF at the Posideon Naval Base in South Africa that can be our first responders to the Yelmish threat. We also can dispatch the 8 more SSN-688's from Kingfish Naval Base in Southern India. These subs can operate out of Posideon or Cottish Bases in the Faukland Islands. If we completely strip the Battle Strike Groups of subs and dispatch them south we can send a force of 40 SSN-688's and 40 Sea Wolf Class into the fight.

Defense Minister Davis: That would spread us pretty thin wouldn't it Heinz?

Vice Admiral Hienz: Yes sir, paper thin and we wouldn't have submarine cover for our fleets. Sonar bouy activity and helicopter/land based sub hunter/killer activities would have to be increased because of it sir.

Defense Minister Davis: This is a pickle. Only release the submarines from Posideon and Kingfish Naval Bases to hunt for the Yelmish Fleet in the Atlantic. Issue the orders sink all ships bearing Yelmish or Kriegorgrad registry. Also inform the captains they have permission from Cottish Forces to utilize Faukland Islands Naval Base for refitting/resupply if needed. We will dispatch supply flights today to the Island so the supplies will be waiting if needed. North Germania and Cotland are dispatching subs to the area also, so they need to be aware of the signatures of our allies vessels. Except for the German stealth sub, they won't know where those guys are. They can go pretty much undetected anywhere they please. Issue the order Vice Admiral.

Vice Admiral Hienz: I sir.

As quickly as the order was sent men scrambled aboard the SSN-688's in Posideon and Kingfish Naval Bases. The 16 submarines were prepared and underway within the hour. At full power these submarines would link up off the coast of South Africa and begin the hunt for the Yelm Navy.

The SR-71 streaked over the southern portion of Britain and banked left as it passed over the Channel, moving to the North Sea, where it would make its northerly course up Norway. It would pass over Germanian airspace, briefly, but at that altitude and speed it would be difficult to engage, even by their standards.

As the SR-71 entered the airspace over Norway, the war was almost fully engaging and they would have to hurry up in order to get out alive...

The anti-armour team, comprised of the Ordos Fedor were in retreat until Kerib barked into his communicator in a guttural tone reserved for battlefield situations.

"Heretics, on foot, seek to fell Fedorenkov's chosen! They deem us weak! They deem us impotent! They deem us easy targets."

Grins opened up across the sadistic men of the Ordos Fedor, imbued with propaganda that taught them the enemy deserved no quarter and no mercy, as one, the Ordos Fedor team shuffled into position, the VEPR (http://s6.invisionfree.com/International_Mall/index.php?showtopic=1053) clad soldiers; even those bearing the back mounted ATGM launch systems, raised their RSR-51XA assault rifles in well trained unison. The advanced targeting systems present in the VEPR suit helped calculate the possible variables that could mean the difference between bullet in the opponent's head and being six feet underground.

"Fire."

Within the shadowy recesses of the forest, well synchronised bursts of fire illuminated the trees, fresh casings leaving the weapons, forming an ocean of gleaming brass which shimmered in the sporadic muzzle flashes.

Gunter's first instincts were to cover his eyes but he realised this was futile as there was no doubt that the tools of the bourgeoisie were advancing as he was trapped in a realm free of sight and hearing, all around him, he could hear the dull cracks of rifle butts going into his comrades' heads.

Instinct, burnt into him by the relentless extra training he took with the Youth, sent him flying backwards and within moments, his knife was unsheathed, and the well sharpened blade went flying for the man's gut as Gunter's vision half recovered itself, the lad felt flesh part before steel like blade into butter...

As the Infantry Squad slowly advanced up the hill, the treeline lit up with fire.
Instinctively the troops dropped to the ground. Some fell from wounds others fell from terror. SSGT. Guido got a grip on the situation.

SSGT. Guido: Men, return fire! Set up that squad weapon ASAP private! Return fire I said!

Slowly the troops not wounded began to respond. Throwing grenades uphill was out of the question, but SSGT. Guido had another idea. He grabbed his radio and called to the IFV's.

SSGT. Guido: Taking heavy fire treeline, request assistance. over.

The IFV's supporting the infantry advance turned the turrets and began to send ordinance uphill. 30mm rounds began to fall directly in front of the advancing ground troops. Another support IFV with a chain-mounted grenade launcher began to pelt the woods with grenade rounds. This didn't satisfy SSGT. Guido, he called for more help.

SSGT. Guido: Flight 52, Flight 52 this is Blue Dog, over. Taking heavy fire from treeline to the NE infantry units penned down and have taken casualities, request assistance, over.

Flight 52: Roger that Blue Dog, we have you tagged, commencing run now.

The A-10 Squadron oriented themselves with the landmarks on the ground and made a hard turn into the strafing run. As the jets streaked over the treeline the familiar burp of the gatling gun belowed as branches, dirt, and debry flew up from the heavy rounds. This combined with a drop of unguided Mk-82 bombs was a welcomed site for the Infantry units on the ground. Those slow lumbering birds were the Grunts best friend.

The soldier in question, a private Miller, took the knife in his guts. Thankfully the battlevest and metal plate inside took the brunt of the strike. Still, it managed to find its way just where there weren't anything but clothing. Miller yelled out in pain, as the knife was very sharp and had hit in a very painful place. Immediately the two nearest soldiers jumped on top of the crazed kid with the knife while another soldier hit the kid in the backhead with his rifle. Hopefully he would be unconcious now. But just to make sure, the medic in the platoon tranqualized the kid before he attended to the wounded private.

The rest of the soldiers rounded up the now unconsious kids, stripped them of weapons, secured their arms and legs with plastic strips, threw a hood oved their eyes and carried them to the back of the front, two kids per soldiers. There they were placed inside M939A2 transport trucks and driven back to the friendly lines. After the medical treatments they would recieve (vaccinations against all known decieces, proper medical care and diets to get them back up to normal weight for their age) at the base, the kids would be properly fed, dressed and bathed before they would be de-brainwashed and later properly educated. All under the supervision of Cottish and Hawdawgian officials.

Meanwhile the Cottish tanks and IFVs were busy destroying any signs of resistance. Buildings were demolished with 120mm shells and TOW missiles. Helicopters fired rocket after rocket while the artillery in the back fired volley after deadly and destructive volley. Hopefully it would be enough to stamp out the resistance. After half an hour of destruction, the Cottish infantry dared to enter the bombed-out remains of Tistedal. They were to take any uniformed person still alive prisoner, and to secure all weapons inside the town.

Having successfully completed its turn, the SR-71A Blackbird set its course to a northerly one, flying straight up the middle of Norway and then taking another turn over the Arctic Circle. The goal would be to reach a tanker flying near Ireland and then to fly back home to Layarteb.

So far, the SR-71A had detected several search radars. Over Britain, the SR-71A had detected numerous radars and surface-to-air sites but none had the capability to fully track and target the SR-71, let alone fire upon it. The crew wondered what Norway would bring. Their RWR was already lighting up with search radars and surface-to-air sites but whether they would fire or not was beyond their comprehension.

The atmosphere in Norway was nothing short of hectic, more than half the Proletarian Guard was retreating with Youth Guardsmen being annihilated left, right and centre. However, in the midst of all this chaos, preparations were being made for the inevitable fall of Norway, the final plan that would reek total and utter justice on those who sought to oppose Kriegorgrad and her people. The cities were aflame with Hawdawgian (is that the adjective?) bombs wreaking havoc upon the ill prepared cities.

The remaining Ordos Fedor were being ordered to pull out as well as those of the Proletarian Guard lucky enough to be situated close to a naval port or city. The Norwegian naval power was untouched, thanks to the badly used but potentially crippling blows of the North Germanian nuclear devices.

However, despite Norway being relatively intact, Britannia was crippled, already, the signs of fallout began to take hold as major population centres were wrought with radiation sickness. Rather than being spared the quick fate of those in the bases, they had instead been condemned to a slow and agonising death by poisoning.

The Proletarian Guard continue to fight on if not of the groups fleeing, the Kriegos war effort is; without a doubt, faltering. The massive manpower of the Kriegos army is being used ineptly and crudely, almost as if the Collective Oligarchy expected to lose the war...

"The NLS doctrine has been carried out, no?" queried Mustapha.

"Of course it has."

"Good, we finally managed to agree on something Henry, I feel this could be the beginning of a profitable friendship." Mustapha joked, a smile that seemed unnatural distorting his lips into a grin.

The Oligarchs laughed.
"Now, what shall we do of the ICBM attack on our Norwegian colony by North Germania?"

The vote was unanimous.

*****

All over Norway and Britannia, missile silos opened up, the tips of the missiles gleamed in the in the orange glare of early evening, the bark of klaxons and the whine of servos were like prophets, announcing the doom that was to befall the people of North Germania and its colonies.

Precisely one hundred and twenty seven inter-continental-ballistic-missiles, nuclear devices in the seven hundred kiloton range, were launched with extreme zeal towards any valuable targets in Germany, Poland and Denmark. Military bases, ports, and cities: none were to be spared by the forest of death approaching North Germania.

As the Joint Chiefs of Staff watched the battle in Norway unfold, a pattern was emerging. Slowly the Kriegos Military was retreating in a vain attempt to slow the advance of the Hawdawg ground forces. It almost seemed like a dance, the Hawdawg Armor would advance be attacked on the flanks and then the enemy would fall back into retreat again. This signaled the impending doom of the juggernaut army of Kriegorgrad. With troops retreating to major ports, they would become easy prey to aerial attack. As these events unfolded on the jumbotron in the war room, several screens began feverishly blinking.

General Tyer: What the hell is that?

Lt. Davies: Sir, we have detected a launch in North Germania. We have no less than 50 inbound missiles heading for Kriegos possessions.

General Tyer: What the hell are those Germans doing? We have men on the ground in Norway these weapons could fall upon? Who authorized that launch?

Lt. Davies: Didn't come from our end sir.

General Tyer: Damn, North Germania has complicated things immensely.

Lt. Davies: Sir, should we ready our missiles for launch?

General Tyer: Open silo doors, lock firing sequence but DO NOT launch. We will ONLY use the nuclear option, IF we are directly attacked with an ICBM from Kriegorgrad.

Lt. Davies: Yes sir, sending the Flash messsage to Missile Command now.

It is obvious your military structure is crumbling in Norway. We would offer a 48 hour cease-fire to allow the complete withdrawl of all Kriegos military personnel remaining in Norway. We would be willing to allow all these troops to exit via the main Western Norwegian sea ports provided they leave all weapons behind. After these 48 hour time period elapsed, we would then process any Kriegos civilian and offer free passage to Britain if they desired. These are the terms we offer for a peaceful transition of power in Norway. In any case, I'm not trying to get out of the consequences of firing nukes; I have enough ABM systems to knock down most of those missiles. Besides, what good is that land if it's been nuked?

So, can we just erase all that nuke firing and leave off at the part where I fired NON nuclear missiles?

Norway...

As the dozens of C-5 Transport planes flew forward, the FKF-19s began firing their missiles at ground and air targets alike.

The beauty of the aerial missile salvo lit the night sky with the licking of blue flames as they tore through the air towards their targets.

On the ground, SAM and AAA sites were obliterated by the missiles. And as the final missiles headed towards the ground, thousands of Fallschirmjäger soldiers and Panzer-XI Light Tanks opened their parachutes as they fell downwards to Trondheim.

Many of these soldiers would not survive the night, but the city would nonetheless be hit by total surprise, and secured from the inside out.

----------------------------------------

Norwegian/Swedish border...

The 7th "Black Forest" Panzer Division and the 11th "Berlin" Mechanized Reichswehr Division ripped forward through the snow.

Their goal was simple: to present a full-out Blitzkrieg attack against the remaining Kriegish forces in Norway, and support the assault in Trondheim. As the Germanian tanks and infantry raced forward, supported by the barrage of Kormoran-II MLRS rockets, victory in Norway seemed inevitable.

Soon, Trondheim would be a pocket of stiff Germanian resistance and a launching point for future attacks, as well as a large resupply depot.

The transport boats, followed by two Stahlheim Class Advanced Aircraft Carriers, six KbFk-36 Advanced Missile Ships and eight U-119 Stealth Attack Submarines stormed South from Svalbard towards Trondheim. There, they would unload the final blow to the forces in Norway: the infamous 9th "Stahl" Panzer Division and the 4th "Rachau" Reichswehr Division.

"You're always so pessimistic Henry!" Mustapha glowered at the oligarch on the other side of the table.

"No, I'm realistic, NLS is an efficient solution."

Seeing as the argument was already lost for the wiry figure, Henry gave Mustapha the look that told him to back down.

"NLS...is an efficient solution...have it done."

*****

It opened, slowly and surely, what seemed a fire hydrant opened up and at first a few, no, dozens of small dots were moving hopping out of the now open flea nest. They spread through the town, quickly and swiftly biting all they came into contact with. Most people just gave the creatures a good swatting but; as fleas do, the little bastards simply survived and went on to bite more.

Biting. Stinging. Infecting.

The bubonic plague was spread rapidly among the populace of Norway and Britain but of course, this didn't matter, all the important personnel were already well away from both countries and heading back to mainland Kriegorgrad...

By now, the fire hydrant had closed up - the government owned fleas never existed as the ordinary looking fire hydrant was just another piece of the scenery...

As the cable came across the wire, a huge eruption of cheering rang out in the room. Kriegorgrad had copitulated and ceded Norway to Hawdawg. Tears were shed and many men openly wept as the joyful news spread throughout the Command Center.

The red phone at General Tyers desk began to blink and he picked it up.....

General Tyer: Yes, Prime Minister Wales we recieved the same message via the wire, we will honor our agreement and allow all Kriegorgrad troops and citizens to leave Norway. All will be granted safe passage to Britain. Yes sir, many things to do, many things to do..........Goodbye.

As the General smoked his huge cuban cigar a sense of calm came over him.

3 Days after the Peace Accord........

The Coalition troops were elated with the word. Many hadn't slept in many days and most collapsed from exhaustion into a quiet somber sleep. Some strange reports began to surface from the larger municipalities that bothered CENCOM. General Tyer summoned the Surgeon General Minter to the bunker for a consultation.

General Tyer: Hello SG Minter how are you?

SG Minter: Fine, but this isn't a social call is it.

General Tyer: No, I am afraid not. We have some reports of something that is disturbing. We have had numerous civilians approaching our Aide Stations in Stockholm and Mo i Rana with a strange illness.

SG Minter: Go on.

General Tyer: Our Field Hospital staff is concerned it may be the Plague sir.

SG Minter: Good God man, what kind of a lunatic would release something like that on its own population?

General Tyer: A person who is doomed from winning a battle. This would be a revenge tactic used against us for invading there territory. What can we do Minter?

SG Minter: First, have all the soldiers been innoculated? What about North Germanian troops and the Cotts?

General Tyer: We wanted to confirm this before we sent a message to them.

SG Minter: Bad idea sir. The quickest way to stop the spread is a MASSIVE innoculation program. Plus we would need a huge supply of Tetracyclines and Sulfanomides to heal the infected. You need to check with our Allies and make sure they haven't had any sickness and then plan on a mission to save as many of the civilians as possible. Preventive medicine instead of reactive medicine.

General Tyer: All our troops were given the X-10+ Vaccine before deployment into Norway. We haven't had any reported deaths from our Field Hospitals among our men. However, the civilian population isn't as lucky.

SG Minter: You need isolate the infected people and try and contain the disease as much as possible. Do you have any idea the amount of money this will require to remedy this situation?

General Tyer: I know, I know. I need you to come up with a plan of action. Establish a perimeter of infections, and where and who needs vaccines or Antibotic treatments.

SG Minter: We can't issue the vaccine to the public, antibotic treatment is our only option here.

General Tyer: Very well. We shall treat the populace with antibotics. Oh and one other thing we have to keep this under wraps.

SG Minter: Absolutely NOT! It is my obligation as Surgeon General to warn the public when potential threats are on the horizon for there health' sake.

General Tyer: You do what you have to Minter. We are trying to save as many people as possible and exposing this now will create a panic.

SG Minter: I will develop the plans you asked for and I offer a compromise. I will issue a travel ban for Norway based on "war actions". This will keep our populace out of Norway until we can clean this mess up.

General Tyer: Ok, I need to call the Prime Minister now. Good day.

Secret IC to Cotland and North Germania

We have seen the copitulation of Kriegorgrad in Norway. We will honor our commitments and offer a conference to discuss the future of this property now that we have annexed it, but pressing matters are now at hand.

We have reason to believe, the Plague or a variant of it has been released in the municipalities in and around the major cities of Norway. Several of our Field Hospitals are reporting symptoms from the Civilian populace that confirms this. While our troops were innoculated for this disease before they were deployed, we do not know the status of your troops. We are offering our X-10+ Vaccine to your troops currently in country at no cost. The problem is, this vaccine requires 7 days for full immunity. Time is of the essence if we need to treat your troops. We have supplies on standby ready to deploy.

We are currently working on an action plan to treat the remaining citizens of Norway with massive anitbiotic treatments. Our Surgeon General thinks this is the best course of action and we don't want to use the X-10+ vaccine on civilians. We will keep you advised of the situation as it develops and will begin OPERATION BAND-AID as soon as possible.

The Empire have given our forces a similar vaccine, and it seems to be working. We are experiencing the same problems that you are with the civilian population, and our doctors and bacteriologists have determined the sickness to be Bubonic Plauge. As we speak, tons of Doxcycline, Gentamicin, Streptomycin and Chloramphenicol are being placed in emergency flights of C-141B Starlifters and C-17A Globemaster IIIs along with doctors, nurses, experts on this decease and appropriate medical equipment. It is our hope that we will be able to have the population back up and running again in ten days. Several of our soldiers have also shown resistance to the decease, and are giving us some of their blood so we can make 100% effective serums. We will send you samples of the antidotes so that you can mix up the antidotes as well.

On another note, after the withdrawal of the Kriegos government, the resistance have been non-existent. The population have apparently listened to our promises of a better life, and the child soldiers we rescued are showing promising signs in the debriefing that we are doing in Sweden, as I'm sure that you know. They will be ready to reenter society in less then a month as free individuals. Even that kid that was the most fanatic. Let us hope that all the people of Norway follows his example.

The Cottish army forces will coordinate our efforts to vaccinate the population with Hawdawgian and Germanian forces for as long as it takes.

I would like to congratulate both parties on our victory in Norway.

However, the Fallschirmjäger soldiers stationed in Trondheim are becoming ill. As you have stated, you believe it to be a variant of The Plague?

The soldiers still in Trondheim are to be quarantined there until medical assistance can be provided.

We request any help you can offer. We believe, however, that the rest of our forces which are located nowhere near any towns or cities, will be safe from the spread of this disease due to the cold.

Fleas must be in a warm climate to survive, and we believe that for once the cold will work for us, not against us.

I would very much appreciate any help.

Our Surgeon General was consulted and our worst fears were confirmed. The Kriegorgrad Army released the Bubonic Plague upon retreat from the region. We will dispatch the 623rd Field Hospital Unit to Trondheim immediately. We can have them on the ground in less than 7 hours. We are also planning to airdrop several tons of medicine with this unit to treat the remaining civilian population. We are estimating the civilian casualty rate will be 40%. We suggest you let your attached medical personnel issue massive doses of tetracyclines and sulfanomides to all infected soldiers. We will provide the X-10+ vaccine to all the noninfected soldiers. In addition we will be shipping this vaccine to your logistical staging areas for distribution among your troops in colder climates. This will offer them immunity should there units need to be moved into the cities.

Dublin County, Ireland

The governor of the Autonomous Republic of Ireland was in his usual position at noon, sound asleep on the sofa for a half hour. He took these power naps during the day to keep himself going, especially when things were hectic on his side of the globe. Snoring away, he was dreaming of an entirely Layartebian Ireland. All they needed were thirteen more counties and it was all over. But invasion would result in a massive slaughter on both sides, a phyrric victory for whomever won.

The governor was startled out of his sleep by the slamming of his door. "What the..." He groggily said as he sat down, his eyes half-open. "Johnson what is this time you pill!"

"Oh sir, we've a wee bit of a problem..."

"Speak ya fool!"

"Sir, we've got about a thousand people admitted to local hospital with a case of the Plague."

"What!" He shot up. "The f****** Plague? Where?"

"We don't know sir. But it's comin' from somewhere."

"Alert Layarteb City. We need to quarantine this county and any others with infection."

"Yes sir!"

The aide snapped to and left. The governor couldn't go back to sleep now and he was certainly wide awake. The Plague had wiped out a quarter of Europe's population in the 1300s and he wasn't about to get involved with it again and see another quarter be wiped out. Little did he know though that every county of Layartebian Ireland had, at minimum, six hundred infections and they were growing!

Medics in the field are treating them to the best of their ability, but are not equipped to deal with this sort of situation without the support of the Germanian Disease & Containment Department, which is currently vaccinating the civilian and military population in Germanian lands.

All infected Fallschirmjäger Soldiers have been sent to the Værnes Airbase, in a quarantined area.

Any soldiers showing signs of infection are being sent in as well. The civilian population is concerning us, however. Trondheim was apparently a hotspot for the outbreak. The Emperor recieved the communique as he recieved reports from North Germania that infections were being had, vaccinations given out, and quasi-martial law in effect. This isn't a coincidence. The Emperor thought as he looked at more briefs from Hawdawg and Cotland. Definitely not a coincidence.

They had a vaccine for the Bubonic Plague but not enough for as many people as needed it. In addition, they didn't have it in Ireland or Iceland or Kaliningrad, only in Layarteb. They estimated that they had to make enough vaccinations for twenty-four million people, they had only enough for twenty-six thousand.

The Emperor immediately declared all three autonomous republics quarantined and instilled marital law. Kaliningrad would be difficult to control but he had to get the cooperation of the officials there and he used a simple threat: cooperate or be invaded, again. They choose the former.

As the vaccines were being prepared, NBC suits were handed out to all soldiers and prison camps were open for the internment of violators.

The first of the three C-130J Hercules transports landed at Værnes airbase after five hours and fourty minutes and immediately taxied to the hangars where the Cots would have their base of operations. Soon after the plane had parked, the other two landed and taxied over to it, each carrying many tons of medication, suitable medical equipment and a team of military doctors and medics.

The head of the medical delegation, Lieutenant Colonel Jacobson, was the first man out of the plane, dressed in a biohazard suit, just in case. Strapped to his waist was a pistolbelt with a M45A1 pistol and three spare clips. Strange for a doctor to wear, but after all, he was in the army.

Walking up to the Germanian officers who greeted him, the colonel simply presented himself briefly before asking to be taken to the sick soldiers. Following him was a sergeant and a private, both medics. They would preform a initial survey while the rest of the team set up the treatment ward in the hangar. It was hoped that all the Germanians would be back up and running the obstical course in a week.

Commander Thompson shook as the C-5 Cargo plane slowly bounced across the tarmac at Vaernes Airbase. As it rolled to a stop, the large cargo hold opened. The plane was situated in a location near the Cottish advance team's locale the open ground allowed for the 623rd to assemble there field hospital. Troops poured out of the plane and began to unload the necessary supplies to assemble the hospital.

Commander Thompson: Set on it men! I want this plane offloaded in 15 minutes! the next set of transports are due in 45 minutes. Stowe your gear and get the lead out!

The Soldiers began to open up the large tents used as triage and surgery centers. Crates of tetracycline and sulfanomides were stacked just off the tarmac for ease of access. A seperate box of the X-10+ vaccine was set aside for use on German soldiers. Commander Thompson then struck out to find the German Commander and his Cottish counterparts. It didn't take him long to locate them surveying the sick. He joined the party and took notes on the soldiers conditions.

London

The city was in chaos the local authorities had long since vanished and law and order was scarce at best. Some 5% of the population was already dead and many more were feared infected. Some of the tetracyclines and sulfanomides dropped by air did make it to the local hospitals and clinics, but they were completely unable to keep up with the huge number of patients and the numbers just kept climbing. Roadblocks were setup and the city was sealed off. No one could come in or out of London for the time being. This situation was drastic.

The Emperor looked over the initial reports from the three autonomous republics. There were no infections in Iceland or Kaliningrad, yet. Iceland might be spared due to the cold weather but Kaliningrad was warmer than Norway, making it a lot more susceptible to the disease. In Ireland, however, all of the counties had infections. It was a dangerous situation. The first batch of 26,000 vaccinations were sent over immediately, via C-17A Globemaster III, along with six QRBTs (Quick Response Biological Teams). They were highly trained to deal with diseases ranging from the flu to Ebola. The Plague was going to be part of their routine training.

We have isolated the infections to major population centers. We suspect the Kreigos military unleashed this virus in infected fleas as a last ditch effort to undermine our impending victory. We have discovered several hollow fire hydrants in Oslo and are speculating, based on the infection rates, these may have been some of the release points. We are having extreme difficulty combating the plague in the southern warmer portions of Norway. We fully expect a 30% civilian casualty rate from this outbreak. In fact we are calling it a Pandemic. Oslo has seen a death/loss of 22% in the last week. With most coming from elderly and children. Our sulfur based drugs and tetracyclines are making progress, slow be steady in Oslo. The situation is much worse in London. Preliminary estimates are 30-35% deathloss. Martial law has been declared and we have established a perimeter around London sealing it off from outside contact. We are spraying chemical insectide and lavicide 24 hours a day around the perimeter in a effort to keep the fleas at bay. We think the situation will stabilize in about 3 weeks. This is what we know so far. Treat your ill with sulfur drugs and tetracyclines. They are our only defense without a viable massive vaccination program.

[Translated from German]

"Reports from Trondheim, Norway have placed over 50% of the population infected, and roughly 9% of the population has already died.

The Fallschirmjäger soldiers stationed there have been lucky; roughly 35% infected, only 2% have died and we are currently receiving excellent medical aid from Hawdawg and Cotland.

Trondheim has been quarantined by the Germanian Disease & Containment Department, supported by the 40th Reichswehr Regiment, of the "Berlin" Reichswehr Division.

Northern Europe has been vaccinated and there have been no reports of infection in Germanian land. Luckily, the disease never made it past the North Sea or the English Channel into France, Denmark, Germany, Poland, or the Baltic States.

Our concern primarily deals with the population in Norway. The civilian death rate in Trondheim has skyrocketed, and we fear that even though the city is contained, the virus may spread through wildlife."

Currently London's infections have stabilized, but Dover, Canterbury and Sheffield are seeing increasing numbers now. I am proud to announce we have gone three days in Oslo without another infection and all citizens have been vaccinated. It appears the disease is on the decline in Norway, we only have a few hotspots left to contend with. We also wanted to let you know that the suspected release from fake fire hydrants has now been confirmed by our Center for Disease Control team. We traced infection outbreaks back to certain areas in four seperate towns and they all had these "hydrants" as a source. Further tests showed some dead fleas inside the hydrants that were confirmed carriers of the plague. We have inititated a nation-wide campaign for vaccinations of all new citizens.

The infections were dying out now. The engineers had disabled all the "fire hydrants" with thremite grenades, and were not busy clearing up the rubble after the destructions caused by the Hawdawgian bombng missions earlier in the campaign. It was the sure signs of peace.

In the field hospitals, no new cases of plauge had been reported for days, and the people there were starting to show signs of recovery. They would still have to take the medications for a few days, but everything seemed to cool down. While the territories were being divided up between and control being assumed by the victors, martial law had been introduced and enforced by the soldiers. Many people had been shot because they had attempted to loot various areas, and the civil population was kept at home. Soon the real rebuilding would start. They just had to terminate the plauge first.

Layartebian QRBTs stormed into the streets of Northern Ireland, looking for fire hydrants that were hollow and empty, used to hold fleas. Unfortunately, there weren't many of them. They did find seven of them though. However, most of the infections were in the south. The virus obviously jumped across to Layartebian Ireland from Britain, somehow and in some way. It was very confusing and very unknown.

Vaccines were being handed out and it seemed as though the infections were being curbed though slowly. There were, roughly 570,000 infected and at least half of that had already died.

In the remote, forgotten, and desolate Shetland Islands, the infection was still widespread, but luckily, aid was at hand. They had also brought with the food and water, and a further group of transports would be bringing engineers to help repair the Islands, and restore electricity and communications.

The cruiser ICS Birkson was sent towards the Shetlands after the detection of the foreign invasion force there. Although only a cruiser, the Birkson had a secret card up its sleeve.

That secret card was four attack submarines of the class Virginia, who headed towards the island as well. They had been part of the naval invasion of Norway that had taken place after the surrender of the Kriegos, and had been on a patrol of the Norwegian Sea when the orders came through for them to head to the Shetlands. Each sub carried 12 UGM-109 Tomahawk ASM/LAMs, 18 Mk-48 ADCAPs and 8 UGM-84F Harpoon ASMs, and each sub was ready for action. They cruised at a speed of 14 knots, well below their rated silent speed of 20 knots, and were next to undetectable on passive sonar.

The Birkson slowed down from her dash just 15 nautical miles from the invasion force, which consisted of at least ten amphibious transports from the Huahinian Navy. The Birkson had her entire arsenal of weapons aimed at the invaders, and she sent continious situation reports to both the Cottish high command, and also the Hawdawgian and North Germanian forces in the Anglo-Norwegian Theatre of Operations.

Almost instantly, she sent out a message to the attacking force.

"This is the Imperial Cottish Warship Birkson. You are invading our ally Hawdawgs territorial waters and territory, and are threatening the stability of the region. Withdraw yourselves from the Shetlands or face war. You have one hour to comply."

The captain had chosen to give them an hour for several reasons. One was that the subs would be in strike position in 55 minutes, and another one was that the Hawdawgians might want to send air and naval reinforcements too.

From AirBases in England and on the Shore the planes took off moving towards there destination. F-18's, A-10's and P-3C Orion's tore into the sky heading for the Shetlands. It wouldn't take long for them to be over the target area.

Off the coast of Norway the three quick barks of the ships sirens told the sailors this was a mission of speed. The Fleet moved on the Shetlands. They were to escort the Huahinian Navy from Hawdawg waters. If the Cotts and the Coast Guard Cruisers could hold on, the Fleet would be on the scene in 4 hours.

Communique to Cotland

We didn't authorize any foreign landing in the Shetlands and consider this a grevious act. I am sending a letter demanding the immediate withdrawal from the Islands of the Huahinian Naval Forces. We have dispatched four fighter wings and a coastal patrol unit to observe the withdrawal. If they do not make progress in this matter within the hour as verified by our planes you have authorization to sink them period. We will be launching a salvo of Tomahawk's and Harpoon's from our two Cruisers coming to your aide if they don't reply. In addition, the North Sea Battle Group has been dispatched to escort them from the area and into international waters. If a battle does break out, they will be utterly ground into powder by our Battle Group in route. We thank Cotland for its vigiliance in helping us maintain our Empires Borders.

Open Communique to Huahinian Government

How dare you land in our territory without our authorization. We did solicit your help in fighting the Plague and were doing just fine without your help. To step foot on anothers soil is an act so grevious it calls for war. A battle can be avoided if you do the following immediately. Start the removal of your military units on the ground within the hour, and pull your anchors and make haste to international waters. If you do not make reasonable progress in the removal of yourself from our territory your fleet will be sunk. I have authorized our ships to fire if we can't verify you have started removing yourself within the hour. Fighter squadrons will be circling overhead to verify your departure. Make haste we are serious and would hate to sink your navy. The North Sea Battle Group is in route and will escort you to international waters upon arrival. Until they get there do not make any threatening gestures to the Hawdawg Cruisers or the Cottish Navy, we just got out a war and don't mind starting another one.

Good day.

OOC: This has me peeved. DON'T go into someone elses lands and start doing things without permission. This is a real good way to get all your people killed in a hurry. Withdraw immediately its your only hope. Besides, as you can see, this thread was winding down. If you want to attack or try and occupy our lands, start a new thread, post in WWI and it will be dealt with.

We understand your last transmission, and will hold our fire against incoming air targets from the south. If the enemy haven't removed themselves from the islands within fifty minutes, we shall engage them with the full arsenal available to us. We will sink the enemy, or at least keep him engaged untill your ships can arrive. Check your secure fax machine for a transcript of the Cottish ships and weaponry in the Engagement Zone. If the enemy withdraws from the islands, we shall send an armed away party to take control of the islands untill Hawdawgian forces arrive to relieve us.

The mood of the ship was that of excitement. The Birkson was an old ship, started on in 1965 and completed four years later, she was soon ready to enter the ranks of the decommissioned ships that was kept as reserve in the White Sea. She had been a part of nearly every major engagement of the Imperial Cottish Navy for the past thirty-six years, and this was destined to be one of her last. But she wouldn't retire without at least one more engagement. An engagement that seemed to be near now. She had eight Harpoon missiles that she would use, and they were close enough to fire her 127mm (5") cannon at the enemy ships. With the armor on ships now-a-days, she would most likely have a field day. But they had to get the enemy to move first. That was why she kept her fire for the moment. Had they been invading Cottish territory, she would have opened fire long ago. But it was Hawdawgian territory, and they wanted her to wait. So wait they would. The enemy had fourty-eight minutes left.

OOC - Ok, not what I was expecting. I didn't realise it was anybody's land but hey...

IC - A Huahinian Captain, in charge of their Humanitarian Operation, received a copy of the letter sent to the Gov't, from the Gov't of Hawdawq.

Mystified as to why there was so much aggression, he knew he had little choice, as his men had only rubber bullets to defend themselves, as they were not expecting a fight. He must pull out, but he looked around at the victims of the plague, some of them were in need of medical attention, which the Huahinian Medics were doing their best to give, and to pull out now could cause the loss of some lives...
After consulting his troops, who were all in favour, they decided to stay, until they had finished their vaccinations and rebuilding of the islands' infrastructure. Surely the forces from Hawdawg or Cotland would not fire upon unarmed men.

|Message to Hawdawg|

We deeply regret this unfortunate incident, however, as there were no Goverment Officials, or Troops from your nation on these islands, we thought we must do our best to help you combat the plague. If you want to land here and arrest us, then fine, it is your island, if you wish to land here and shoot us, then fine, it is your island, but I must add that we have no weapons ec except for Rubber Bullets and Riot Shields, to protect us incase our landing was to be percieved hostile by the natives to this island. However, it has not, and many people have benefited from our work, and this message was sent from a Communications Array based on the Island that we fixed, after sabotage from Kriegos forces before they left the islands.
Your call now.

In addition to this, the two Aircraft Carriers attached to this Battle Group have an entire cadre of Weapons available for use. In fact, you are almost under fighter cover from this fleet. We have launched an Attack Wing from both carriers and expect to have them over the area within 15 minutes. They have refueled over the Norwegian Sea via one of our KC-10's. You should see our two Cruisers on your radar, as they have reported to be within 5 nautical miles of your position. They will be at your side within minutes. We have a small security force of Marines embedded within the AMFED Battle Group that can secure the Island and relieve the Cottish Group when they arrive. We have recieved confirmation fromt the Huahinian Naval Force they have no intention of leaving the Shetlands until there "mission" is complete. Therefore, we authorize the use of force to remove them from our terrritory. On a side note they claim to be unarmed, but I have never seen a naval force barring International Red Cross ships that are unarmed. We will fire our Harpoon's first and then launch Tomahawk's to finish sinking the fleet. You have our permission to fire. Launch with all due haste. Task Force AMFED is now 2 hours away. Our land based Air Squadrons will be handling the ground attack. The have been given the green light to engage ground targets at will. Good luck.

"Sir, updated ROE. Permission to fire has been given from the Hawdawgians. The subs are in position too."

"Very well. Target two Harpoons per enemy transport and fire. Get us closer and fire away with the five-inch."

The Birkson pulled up against the wind and fired its eight Harpoons. Two missiles were fired per transport vessel, but that meant that they would only sink four vessels. It didn't matter. This would be a great opportunity to use the old 5" cannon on the forecastle of the Birkson.

SSN-774
The captain looked into the periscope and gave the coordinates of four transports to the weapons officer. Then he checked his watch.

"The time is up gentlemen. We're a go. Target the enemy transports and fire tubes one through four."

Torpedo tube one, two and three was loaded with Mk-48 ADCAPs, while tube four was loaded with an UGM-84F Harpoon. The three torpedoes were fired in quick succession, and the single Harpoon was launched and rose to the surface in a hail of airbubbles before the rocket-booster ignited and raced towards the enemy ship that had been targetted. Similar things happened in the other three Virginia class subs.

"Five medics died in the church, whilst they were still tending victims of the plague. A few more are injured, and we have no word back from the Engineers yet. They were busy fixing up a shelter for our AmphiTrans on another Island."

Bubonic Plague Infection Stems in Ireland

(LNN) - Today, Layartebian officials announced that there have been no new cases of Bubonic Plague infections in Ireland for ninety-six hours. This does not mean the situation is over but does allow officials to say that the plague is currently contained. Reports put just shy of 1,250,000 infections in Ireland. The current population is around 5,000,000. With one quarter of the population infected, mortality rates have been in the area of 70 to 82 percent.

**********************************

Open Communique to the Government of Huahin

The Layartebian government finds it extremely unnecessary for your involement in the Shetland Islands. Your intrusion has sparked a major conflict and you overstepped your bounds. The Empire of Layarteb will not choose sides in this conflict nor will we stand idly by. Our bases in Iceland and Ireland will be on alert. Should any attack be detected against Layartebian targets or should any of your military forces approach our bases and breech what we will determine as an unsafe distance, we will intercept said aircraft or shipping and, if necessary, defend ourselves with fire. We strongly implore you to rethink your decision.

The Empire of Layarteb

**********************************

Because of the heightened hostility, Layartebian aircraft began their own patrols. P-3C Orions and P-7A Orion IIs began flying patrols no less than 120nm off the coast of Iceland and Ireland. Twin Towers frigates, Shield submarines, and Spectre and Scorpion corvettes patrolled inside of the Orion net.

At the same time, F-18C Hornets and F-14E Super Tomcats were prepared on the ground at the nearest airbases. The Hornets each carried four Harpoon IIs, two AIM-120D AMRAAMs, and two AIM-9X Sidewinders. The Super Tomcats carried four AIM-120D AMRAAMs, two AIM-54D Phoenixs, and four AIM-9X Sidewinders. If they needed to, the Hornets would fly to attack naval shipping with the Super Tomcats providing cover against enemy fighters. F-31A Tornado ADVs loaded with four AIM-179A BVRAAMs and four AIM-9X Sidewinders would provide CAP for further attack flights. F-31B Tornado GAVs loaded with two AIM-9X Sidewinders, fuel tanks, and four JDAM II, 1,000 pound GPS guided bombs would attack more targets if necessary.

OOC: I am quickly loosing my patience. First, I am told you don't have any ships, then when you do finally acknowledge that you did make a post with 10 amphibious transports in it, you say that none of the Harpoon's or Tomahawk's fired by my ships (16 harpoon's) (25 Tomahawk's) or Cotland's hit any of your personnel, ships, etc. accept for 5 medics. You also said our missiles veered off to strike an abandoned Kreigos Destroyer in the Harbor. Maybe one or even two Harpoon's would do this, but the rest of your fleet that you did acknowledge was off the coast of the Shetland's back on page 7, would certainly have been hit. I am trying real hard not to flame here, but you need to get your head in the game or I will ask for a ruling from RomeW on your behavior in this thread. I will also petition to use the scarcely used Ignore Cannon in E II if this type of behavior doesn't change quickly. I am also going to start an OOC thread so this can be hashed out in there. Way too much chatter is ruining my fairly decent war thread.

Task Force AMFED fanned out into a half moon shape around Shetland Island. The orders where simple shell the island for 24 hours nonstop. The Battleships, Battlecruisers, and other lighter armed ships turned turrets at 8:15 and commenced firing. Anyone above ground or any structure resembling a house or building would be destroyed.

As the shells started to arc into the island the rounds filled the night sky with a beautiful light show visible for miles across the ocean-scape.

OOC: Okay, ruling time:

Huahin: I don't mean to be harsh, but please RP properly. First of all, I noticed that you are blatantly godmodding, for two reasons:

1. You make the assumption that your mission can just walk right onto the Shetlands without any resistence whatsoever, or even without anyone asking for authorization. It doesn't matter that you're a humanitarian mission- at every border crossing (including going to an island) there are people making sure that those who cross the borders are legitimate, and your humanitarian mission is no different. You can't just fly to the Shetlands without even thinking that Hawdawg wouldn't stop you before they authorized you, and the fact that you did just enter the Shetlands without Hawdawg's awareness is godmodding because you're doing something that Hawdawg should be RPing- the authorization of your mission's ability to land.

2. I shall highlight this:

However, back on the main island, they had not seen the damage done by Cottish missiles. Instead of striking civilians, or Huahinian forces, the Cottish missiles had struck an abandoned Kriegos Destroyer, docked in the Harbour, however, this ship had dark secrets, and as the ship exploded, it collapsed on to its side, and made a connection with the side of the Harbour, and thousands and thousands of fleas made contact with dry land...

This sounds like an attempt to create a "super armour" by saying that somehow your vehicles are so fast that they can evade missiles (thus dramatically underestimating their actual accuracy), as well as RPing how accurate Cotland and Hawdawg fired their missiles (which is similar to what I said in No. 1).

Therefore, Hawdawg is justified in using the IGNORE cannon because of the godmodding.

There was no mention in the thread that he controlled the Shetland Islands, which is why chose them.

2. I shall highlight this:

This sounds like an attempt to create a "super armour" by saying that somehow your vehicles are so fast that they can evade missiles (thus dramatically underestimating their actual accuracy), as well as RPing how accurate Cotland and Hawdawg fired their missiles (which is similar to what I said in No. 1).
I had no vehicles in that area, so what are they supposed to hit?
Cotland said he targeted ships, i had none, so I tried to RP in some continuity.

Therefore, Hawdawg is justified in using the IGNORE cannon because of the godmodding.

To me he seems like a poor RPer, who launches unrealistic amounts of force at a tiny group of Islands against unarmed men.

I've been RPing for ages, and people like him think they own threads, and that they are always superior. Besides, my military is three times the size of his.

If he wishes to use the ignore cannon, then that's up to him. I didn't want a war thread to evolve out of this anyway.

1. The ships are there you admitted a couple pages back they did exist. I am not going down this path again as I took my fifteen posts to get you to realize that you had made that post back when your guys first arrived.

2. I will not stoop to levels of calling names or any of that nature.

3. I never said I owned a thread, but as a courteous RP'er it does good to ask before you jump into something, especially when the main participants are trying to wind it up.

4. As far as sending a large force to deal with an incident "never pee on a forest fire" is my philosophy.

5. If you don't like the way I play then there is a simple solution to that problem like I said 3 days ago simply withdraw and you won't have to deal with my style of RPing.

6. With the end result being no closer to being decided and you obiviously not willing to legitimately participate and acknowledge damage to ships, I am involking the INGORE CANNON on your little invasion of the Shetlands.

In military news today, the Defense Department listed the Shetland Islands as a naval ordinance test firing range. Task Force AMFED initiated the island by shelling old Kriegos Military installations and the reminants of the docks. Numerous exercises were performed today, including the use of Laser-guided and conventional munitions.

OOC: There might never have been a misunderstanding if you had described it better. Also, the Shetlands have always part of Britain (except in the viking ages, when it belonged to Norway :D ), and Hawdawg recieved all of Britain from Kriegorgrad when he bowed out. Anyways, there isn't much use to bicker because your invasion has been ignored. Too bad.

BTW, my decleration of war with you is still on.

OOC - Well how many ships can travel on land

There is no reason to ignore the conflict, but very well, go ahead, although now you have no justification for declaring war on me.

Technically, it is. A "ship" by definition is anything that can be used for transport, usually aquatic but not restricted to it (we did have "airships" for a time). Your amphibious transports are aquatic transports and can be technically classified as ships.

Regardless of what they are called, Cotland's missiles would have targetted them anyway (because those military operators would know where to fire to, regardless of what they're called), and stealthily avoiding them IS bad RP. I don't care that you've been RPing for a while and have an army three times the size of Hawdawg's- the way I saw it, Hawdawg was justifiably frustrated with you, and I'm sorry that this happened but what's done is done. My ruling is final.

Well I never asked to start a War RP anyway. My plan was to help with the plague, then withdraw, so as to be on good terms with Hawdawg/Cotland. But when they became aggressive, I lost interest.

Official announcement from the Royal Huahian Army

The commander of the Shetland Islands expedition is to be sent to Hawdawg to stand trial for War Crimes. His actions were not representative of the Army, or the Nation of Huahin. In addition we will be paying Hawdawg £100m in War damages.

OOC: Let's just drop this shall we? Consider it a wash. I will not accept the offer of the head of the Lt. in charge or the monetary damages. Besides you need to compile your Defenses Information and believe me this is not an easy task. If your military structure is 3 times larger than mine it will take you several days to put all that information both combat and logistical information together.

I still want to know how that tank thing got there in the first place? That's an amphibious tank and, at the very least, it would need to either be air dropped or deployed FROM A SHIP.

I know, but I agreed to drop this. I got tired of chasing my tail as you can well see from about page 6 until here.

Surgeon General Announces Fallout of Plague

Today at 10am the Surgeon General of Hawdawg came forth with the final tallies of the plague outbreak that haunted England and Norway immediately following the war with Kriegorgrad. During the press conference the SG displayed a crude release mechanism shaped in the form of a fire hydrant. "These vessels were the release points for the infectious fleas in all the metropolitian areas that had high infection rates," he said. Total death loss was officially tallied at a 20 percent average in Norway, while a full 30 percent of the civilian population in England died from the disease. Most of the deaths occured in two age ranges the 60+ group and children under 6. This is truely a sad number because an entire generation is now lost. Something interesting to note is these are average numbers, death rates in cities were much higher than in the countryside because of the close proximity of the civilian population. The proactive steps taken by the Hawdawg medical community and her allies certainly stopped this epidemic from reaching catestrophic proportions. "What we can't figure out is why a country in political and financial ruin on the edge of capitulation would do something like this to its citizens," SG stated at the end of his press conference. We can only speculate about the reasoning used to deal death to the former Kriegorgrad citizens, but we suspect the motives lie in revenge. As the reconstruction continues within England and Norway one thing is for certain, the way of life for the former Kreigorgrad citizens will definitely improve whomever nation lays claim to there lands.
