Civil war in Achleonia (Free RP, MT)

Achleonia
21-04-2005, 16:54
A group of people ran down the street, an explosion following them. These difficulties had been going on for a few days now. There were rumours that the farmers up north would start a civil war and that these bombings were just the start of it. The fire department rushed to yet another fire in the nation's capital. The king looked out of his palace's balcony. "This seems like all those pictures that my great grandfather showed me... Those pictures of Achleonia's independence war..." he mutter to his wife, standing next to him. A grey military issue helicopter landed slowly onto the yard and four generals came out, running towards the palace. The king kissed his wife and went to the conference room.

"Gentlemen, nice of you to drop by. Tell me the situation in north"
"Your highness, two states have departed from the kingdom, naming themselves as a confederacy. They are heavily armed, but we can beat them easily if we want to"
"Good. Begin the mobilization. We'll crush it before it even starts..."
"Yes, sir!"

-----

In a large building that used to be the city hall of Deepville two men met. The two leaders that had organized this civil war. "The men are taking up arms. The bombardment has begun"
"Good. There is no other choise for the kingdom but to mobilize it's armies. Has the autonomic state of Jabberis stated it's side in this war?"
"Not yet, but our men there say that they are willing to join us if we give them independence after our victory"
"Tell our men to agree into anything. We need as much support as we need. Or at least so much neutral states that the kingdom can't win"
"Yes, sir"
The two men went to a balcony, viewing the large city and the green-suited men running and ordering civilians into their homes to safety. The whole barrack's equipment were going on their way throught the city. The leader of the civil war started laughing to himself

"Sir, we've just intercepted a transmission from Achleonia...it seems to be that two northern states in the country have decided to secede."

The President looked over to his Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dewars Strand, and replied, "I'll handle this one. I'll send a message over to the king myself."

To His Excellency, the King of Achleonia,

We have been informed of your ongoing civil strife, with the 2 northern states decided to call themselves a confederacy, and we send our upmost sympathies to your nation for the situation that has beseiged it. We implore you to consider letting our Nedalia Guerilla Militia land upon your soil to help you fight these power-hungry rebels in the north. The NGM is highly trained in dealing with rebels of this sort, already stationed in other nations with great success. We would fight side by side with your army to eradicate the problem that has stemmed in Achleonia. I await your reply.

President Bren of Nedalia

Dear Nedalian government. We are in no need for assistance on our own mind. If you want to help, we need plenty of equipment for our fire departments. Also it would be a nice idea to seal the two states from any connection to other nations.
-King Marcus Anthonius VII

The Achleonian armies marched quickly towards north. Two other states in Achleonia had already told the Capital state of their loyalty to the kingdom. Two were neutral for the time being.

----

The northern armies held their places in cities, marching to meet the enemy if they were to come too close. Minor battles were always a situation, even if it was only two soldiers from each side, wasting bullets as they tried to shoot each others. In more major battles, including the battle of Dukesta, even brothers could meet their brothers on different sides. It was true hell in the borders of the two nations

Helicopters rose up from a nearby base to confront the confederates in a nearby town. "Achleonia Military Air Control, the 17th helicopter brigade is airborn"
"Copy, that, 17th leader"

The helicopters quickly made their way toward the town, a nice tune of Wagner blasting from the huge speakers on the leader helicopter. The town was on full alert by the time the music sounded, mixing with the flapping of the rotors. The Colonel laughed as the first helicopters opened fire on the pesky AA-guns, trying to hit the helicopters. "How old are those guns? Do we still have that model?" the colonel asked from a lieutenant that started laughing. "What would you expect from some damn black market rip-offs"
The men in the helicopter started laughing as it started landing onto the roof of a carpark. The soldiers came out, surrounding the colonel as soon as he came out and secured the surroundings. Other helicopters started lowering down as at least a third of the town was on fire. The rest would be checked on foot.

As the Aequatian Republic is always in the interest of preserving the peace around the world and to protect the well-being of peopl, we would be willing to deploy Aequatian Armed Forces units in Achleonia to aid in quelling the rebellion so as to eliminate the threat as well as open relations between our nations in a friendly manner.

After a few turns in the turn, we are very greatful of your help, as long as it's not for the Confederates. You are welcomed to send immediate help to our new frontline command center on the city of Goford. There your troops will be given further instructions.

------

The Kingdom's troops advanced quickly thropught the city of Goford, the colonel laughing as the troops set up blockades and secured one of the smaller houses as a command center. Horns blew in the distance, as Achleonian troops were buried. A couple of helicopters landed near the command center and a 1st class Major colonel stepped out of the other with reinforcments. The other helicopter was filled with supplies.
The colonel stood in attention as he went to greet the superior officer. He saluted quickly
"Sir, we have the whole town under our control. We have secured the airstrip and our scout helicopters have reported the the confederates are on the run"
"Good work, Colonel. I've heard that we might get some international reinforcments around here soon. Get the command center up as quickly as you can"
"Sir, yes, sir"

---

The confederates did run. They ran straight to the next city, reinforcing and warning it. The sergeants, lieuetants and colonels there started thinking of a strategy to beat the next wave of Achleonians... Only they didn't know that the Achleonians would have international reinforcments

We shall deploy an airborne division in close proximity to the city of Goford along with two infantry divisions and a small air force brigade to provide air support to an airport either in Goford or a city nearby. Two armoured divisions will be transported to a port city and will transit to the area of operations overland as we cannot mobilize them from the air. Air Force strategic bombers from Aequatio can also provide support by launching strikes against enemy-held cities.

The closest port city would most probably be Whitehill, our capital. You can mobilize your armored divisions from there. The airfield of Goford is under our control for the time being, and so your plane would mosyt probably be safe there. We will be deploying reinfrocments to Goford ourselves soon too.

We have intercepted your message. You cannot get even near to Goford! We shall make sure of that. Either you leave this war be, or we must crush your puny armies too. Hah!

A Barbarosean lance was flying back from a remote testing field, when the GPS-DS alerted them to military movement. Normally, they would ignore it, but as of late, the Air Force had not been doing a whole lot, and so they decided to raido it in.

"...Sir, Z-13, ID #1-2-546-99907793765, Bravo Lance, we have spotted a military movement. Request diversion and a Z-7 for refueling."

Captain (O-6) D. Greenburg was waiting for a reply as he ran a sat. photo of the situation on his GPS-DS interface. Looked like a rebellion. Hmm, this would be a good test for the new Z-14's Greenburg thought. His thoughts were interrupted by BAF HQ's reply,

"...Roger Bravo Lance, request granted, Z-7 en route, you are in command, loss is unaccecptable. HQ out."

With that, Greenburg radio'd the big mass of military units.

"To the commander of the military assembly within the nation of Achleonia, this is a Barbarosean lance, inquiring to the nature of your gathering. If you need assistance, we will re-route ourselves to your position. We have an urban assault regiment and CAS for them if needbe. Please respond on channel #49, UNI. Bravo Lance out."

After being informed that our previous message had been intercepted, for the well-being of our troops through deployment, we shall be landing and mobilizing our forces from the city of Whitehill. The 1st Airborne Division will be deployed just outside Goford to support your nation's forces in holding the position until the mobilization of the remaining Aequatian forces can reach the area.

"Barbarosean lance, It seems that your intelligence isn't working too good. We have a massive rebellion going on, and our forces are currently taking back what is ours. If you might do such a thing to help us, it would be most useable if you would do such a thing to have a masive bombing raid in the closest large military force of the rebels that you can find. thank you"

We affirm that. We will be making a couple of partisan attacks into the nearest cities, but most of our forces will be waiting in Goford. We thank you for your help

"Lieuetant Haywood! Take a couple of your best commando's and launch a partisan attack. Try to get any civilians with weapons to rebel when they see our army closening"
"Yes, sir!"
"And lieuetant, try and be quiet with it. We don't want them to attack before we do"
"Sir, yes, sir!"
The lieuetant ran to an appartment house, made into barracks after the city had been evacuated into military use only.
The Major colonel looked at the troops everywhere, the helicopters... He could hear the armoured divisions of Achleonia rolling towards the city. He smiled widely. This was the way to live for him

From: Fleet Admiral Sir Gregory Fields, Central Command, Makaar
To: King Marcus of Achleonia

Your Majesty,

Makaar MilIntel has reported that you are facing trouble with rebels in your country. Makaar is deeply concerned with the possible shift of power that could occur if a nation as large as yours were to succumb to rebel activity.

However, we cannot afford to be "on the wrong side" should the rebels take control. Therefore, we will be dispatching forces only to protect border towns and cities, not to attack rebel targets. If Makaarian forces come specifically under fire, then the Assembly will consider the possibility of war against the rebels.

Also, we request to know what it is these rebels are fighting against. We are a democratic nation and must support democracy.

Yours,
Fleet Admiral Fields

With the response, Cpt. Greenburg called the lance, "Barbarosea lance, Bravo, we have been rerouted, coordinances are locked into your GPS-DS. A Z-7 will be overhead, ETA 12 minutes. Orders will be given once 20 clicks out. Bravo leader, out."

With that, Greenburg eased his plane left towards the new target. They wanted a bombing run, they would get a bombing run. Fortunatly, the lance had been carrying a full load, and they hadn't fired a shot. He started pulling up a battle plan screen, and started deciding how to come in. 2 squads, let 2 Z-13's lead the attack, followed by all the rest of the Z-13's and Z-14's. Have the Z-5's expend missiles only, and save the Z-9's.
Oh, the Z-7 was overhead, and he was re-fuelling first.

OOC: Ok, so you want the 2nd city (not Goford) bombed? Ok, but do you want and incindinary weapons, because I've got some on board. Also, do you want any chemical? I do have 4 poision gas munitions.

OOC: Barbarosea, there isn't that much of resistance in the second town. Take the city a few kilometres from it(Dogfort). And no chemical weapons to be used. There migh be civilians there. If the bombing raid's don't kill them, the toxic would, and that's something that we don't want.

IC: The Achleonian commandoes were restless. Their mission was suicide. The group quickly made theirway throught the sewer systems that would lead them to the downtown area. The satellite pictures showed that the most of the civilians had been collected there. Some of them were furious of this, and might as well start a rebel inside the rebels.

The Confederates have informed that they started the rebellion because of high taxation, dictatorship and the latest happenings inside the royal family, which doesn't concern you. We for our own minds are very democratic. Our King of course has the most power in the kingdom, and usually overrules any democratic decision, but that's just Marcus Anthonius VII, which is already quite old.
If you decide to send military to border cities and towns, we are quite sure that you will be shot from one side or the other, depending on which city and town you are

Just on the outskirts of Goford, Achleonia

The sky filled with transport aircraft as the entire 1st Airborne Division began the drop, they would land just outside the city and move up to support the battle line with their allied Achleonian forces. Thousands of parachutes opened, allowing for soldiers, artillery and light vehicles to slowly decend towards the ground.

Once on the ground the division's commander, Major-General Burke, contacted the Achleonian command as his soldiers all began to setup divisional headquarters, dug in their artillery pieces and fueled vehicles.

"Achleonian Command, this is Major-General Burke of the Aequatian 1st Airborne Division, we have landed just outside the city of Goford and are preparing to mvoe out from our landing zone to join in the fight."

-----

Whitehill, Achleonia

The Aequatian Navy transport docking ships had arrived to deliver the Operation Indigo armoured corps at the city's harbour as C-17 and C-5 transport aircraft arrived at the city's airport to unload the force's infantry divisions and prepare them for immediate mobilization to Goford to support the 1st Airborne. It would take time to prepare the tanks to move out, but once they started, it would take the devil himself to stop them.

King Marcus Anthonius VII looked out of his palace balcony, at the fuss of the planes and ships. Civilians running to their homes or into markets or malls for safety. The king shook his head slowly and leaned to the rail of his balcony.

----

A couple of jeeps drove throught the city quickly. Civilians pointed at them quickly. It was unusual of Military jeeps driving around like that.
The two seperated after a few minutes of driving, the otehr heading to the harbor and the other to the aiport. Both were carrying Generals to greet the arrivals and guide on what to do next.

----

An APC closened on the airborne division with high speed. The Achleonian flag was on it's pole. It stopped quite close to the men and opened it's doors to let a few commandos and the Major colonel out to greet them. "Who's your highest officer?" the Major colonel asked, looking around

----

the commando team quickly eased it's way up onto the surface right in the middle of a huge plaza, filled with civilians. The civilians quickly gathered there when they saw they were Achleonian. The commando leader gave advises to those who wanted to help and then left to inform the Command center of the soon to start rebellion inside the city

Bravo lance was refueled and divided. Cpt Greenburg was leading 4 other Z-13's, 4 Z-14's, and a Z-9. They had been rerouted again, towards a different city close to the original target. They had been told not to use the poision gas munitions, so the Z-9's has deactivated them, just in case they were shot down. 24 clicks out. He checked his internal munition sensors. They all read positive. 23 clicks out. He always got nervous right before combat, even if there were no enemy fighters. Oh shit! He had forgotten to take a scan of the target. 22 clicks out. He uploaded the coordinances, and hit "Scan Skies" on the GPS-DS. 21 clicks out. The results were back, and...

((OOC: Sorry that I forgot to ask, but I assume there are no enemy aircraft. I also need to know if they have any SAM's, Patriots, ect.?))
Achleonia
25-04-2005, 14:01
Yes, the results would be pretty shocking. There were 5 hinds, 10 hornets and 20 MIGs waiting for the enemy aircrafts. Basic AA-batteries and machine gun nests were everywhere, and even a couple of SAM sites being prepared. This is just why the Achleonians wanted to get rid of Black Market... Too much opportunities for rebels and terrorists.
A small Hawk scout fighter flew right past the enemy, appearing from the clouds and disappearing back to report
