Dayan stood before the podium, about to speak before a crowd of over 100,000 people, in a speech that would be televised across Malkyer. He took a drink of water, and began to speak.
"My citizens, my friends, my subjects. I come to you today to announce a new era in the history of our great nation. As you know, many Central American nations have joined the fold of our Kingdom in recent weeks. Just today, on the other side of the world, the government of Namibia officially joined with Malkyer as our first territory in Africa.
Because of these events, I am announcing the formation of the Malkyeri Empire. The day-to-day lives of you, my people, will not be affected. The government will remain much the same, though with the establishment of the new 'Colonial Office,' to oversee new colonies. The Viceroyships of North America and Australia will be unchanged. The Viceroyalty of the Carribean will be expanded to include our new territories in Central America, the the seat of government will remain in Kingston. Namibia will be a separate Crown Colony, not a part of the Viceroyships.
Ours will be a liberal empire, and all men and women will be free to reap the rewards of the future. Even now, the Diplomatic Corps is negotiating with Mozambique and Botswana. For too long, the peoples of Africa have suffered under harsh European masters, and then under brutal home-grown dictators. We are moving into these nations to of peace and security, while we ready the citizens of the new colonies to take their place in the world so long denied them.
Wish our diplomats and soldiers well, and may God bless the Empire!"
As he left the podium, the crowd erupted in cheers. On the various news networks, some leftist critics whined of "imperialism" and "fascist colonialism," but they were mostly ignored by a populace eager to become one of the great world empires...
