*NB. It is not possible to intervene militarily in this struggle between the Marxist-democratic government and Venezulean style conspirators, as our region has a non-interventionist clause. But you are welcome to offer political support to each side, or establish a political force through campaigning. Any way good luck (me included as I am newb at this so here I go) Oh yeah try and keep it one post per day per person max.*

The Armed Republic of the South Island had become the Democratic Peoples Republic after a survey of prominent intellectuals. It was described as fitting for the country (which has a entrenched socialist-style constitution which guarantees economic and social equality).

However, some former diplomats who had served overseas belittled the change as a sign the country was shifting further towards a 'Peoples Democratic Dictatorship'. The diplomats who had been purged from the government, but possessed a significant power base with the South Island Peoples Revolutionary Party (PRSI), and this was what worried the Minister of Interior the most. In discussion with the Premier (Chairman of the PRSI) of the DPRSI, he advocated a policy of arresting the purged officials, and putting them on trial, for treason, and crimes against the party/state - both of which are punishable by death.

The Premier agrees, and once arrested, the said officials are denounced as bourgeois revisionists, and sentenced to death.
