<earth RB> Invasion of Benin (ATTN Real ALM)

Moronyicka
20-04-2005, 01:47
Long has King Jedo’s eye been fixed on the Real Anime Liberation Movement controlled nation of Benin, long has he dreamed of the time when it would be in Moronyickan control.

That time was now.

The plan was foolproof. The idea was to completely surround Benin. Moronyicka had force to Benin’s west in Togo, to its north in Burkina Faso and to its east in Nigeria. Also, Moronyicka had deployed an entire fleet to the south of Benin. The plan truly was foolproof.

________________________________

After it had received its orders, the Alpha Assault Fleet moved in towards the coast of Benin. Its mission was to cut off the only naval entrance to Benin and effectively cut off RALM reinforcements. Once it got into position off the coast, it came to a halt and waited for further orders.

___________________________________

While that force was being summoned in the south, more forces were being brought together in the countries surrounding Benin. In Togo, an Armored Division and an Infantry Division was heading towards the Togo-Benin border. In Burkina Faso, there was 1 Armored Division and a Mechanical Division heading towards the border. But, the largest force of all was being assembled in Nigeria. 3 Armored Divisions, 1 Mechanical Division and an Infantry Division were all on standby, ready to attack Benin at a moments notice.

All of the forces were now heading towards Benin, prepared to tare through any defenses the enemy had.

Meanwhile....

"DAMNIT!"

Harold McCall was very, very pissed. The Moronyickans were going to drive them to the sea. The Combine of Enlightened States was not to be f**ked with.....they would show them.

He called the meeting of the General Assembly. Calling for arms, the Assembly passed a united resoultion, and Jake Featherston of the RSA pledged the aid of the Atlantic Fleet.

Effective immediately, the following forces were sent to Benin to aid their comrades:

Inflexible Battle Group:

The Benin Defense Force soon begin fighting back, launching all the missiles and artillery rockets they could at the incoming forces. They also used AA to try and screen the skies........

-----------------

Meanwhile, Tokko teams began to try and infiltrate Moronyickan Nigeria, and cause chaos, parachuting in Niger, and trying to sneak through the desert....

The plan was working; the Benin defense force was being stretched thin as they tried to protect every border. As far as tanks, the Moronyickans had about 600 more in their invasion force then the RALM had in their defense force. And, they outnumbered them by roughly 40,000 just in man power.

However, the RALM force was determined; it appeared they were firing everything they had at the Moronyickans. So far, all of the Moronyickan forces put together had lost a total of 175 machines. The Nigerian force was fairing the best so far, as they did have a much larger force. The M270 MLRS sat in the back of the assault force, pounding the border defense with missile after missile.

A few of the APCs went ahead and dropped out soldiers, hoping that if the enemy focused on the vehicles they might be able to get through and cause some havoc. Soldiers armed with M136 Rocket launchers tried their best to take out the enemy’s “Leopard” tanks.

The battle raged on at every border, the Moronyickans were pushing harder and harder, hoping to eventually break through.

______________________________

The airforce in Togo was ordered to launch 200 F18s and 50 B2 bombers. The mission was to bomb as many key air and army bases as they could (all of which were spotted last week using drones).

As the force first left Togo and moved into Benin they were nearly overwhelmed by AA fire. They suffered the loss of about 55 planes before the reached there first target. That target was an army base that housed many of the RALM army’s equipment and supplies. As soon as they were over the target, the B2s immediately began to drop clusters of bombs down on the complex. While they B2s attempted to destroy it, the F18s continued to protect the bombers from any resistance.

Meanwhile airbases in Burkina Faso and Nigeria all began their own deployment of air support.

From Burkina Faso they launched 25 F18 Hornets to help destroy the resistance. And from Nigeria they launched 50 F18s and 25 Apaches to help the Nigerian invasion force.

OOC: Wait, wait.....

You might need to look at my factbook, m'kay?

First off, Benin is ruled by the COmbine of Enlightened States, an organization that governs its territories in Africa under the stead of the Reunited States of America (like the USSR dominated the Warsaw Pact).

I know it's easy to slip into using the "RALM" to describe things, but I insist that you address the note to the CES and Harold McCall (head of the CES), not to the RALM proper: the RALM will officially deny they even have any connection with Benin.

And I'm not small, m'kay? I think I didn't grow to 618 million just to be called "small." I can support all those extra elements I deployed, mind.

Sorry if I seem angered, but....I guess it's the suddenness of this. I'll go along, but expect to suffer.

The BDF held fast to its positions. Though it lost 20 Tanks and 800 men so far to enemy fire, and the Moronyickans were pouring it on thick on all sides, the BDF held.

They soon turned their AA fire onto the bombers, trying to take them out and slow up the enemy advance.

Meanwhile, BDF infantry held fast against the waves of tanks and infantry, firing heavy mortars, SMAW AT rockets, M249 and M60 MG's and even Vulcan cannons against the waves of enemy foes.

On the Nigerian border, the MRLS systems of the BDF fired back at the enemy MRLS positions, praying for a hit....

Between the mortars, rockets and artillery, the BDF was able to take out another 30 of the Moronyickan vehicles and about 1,000 men. However, the newly arrived air support was greatly helping their attack. The Moronyickan just kept firing back with everything they had, hoping to break through.

The Moronyickans would soon call for more forces.

________________________

The Alpha fleet saw the enemy reinforcements coming and prepared to engage. They decided that, because the enemy was still at long range that it would be best to use their tomahawks now. Since the Arsenal ships had the most abundant supply of tomahawk cruise missile, they would be the ones to fire the first shot.

The AASes and sealift ships carried lost of forces and valuable supplies they didn’t want lost at see. With that in mind they began, to head towards the shore. Once they got close enough, the AASes deployed their landing crafts. If all went well, and the enemy didn’t put up much security on the beach, then they could establish a beachhead to bring in more tanks and supplies.

As the crew of the arsenal ships worked in a firing solution, the weapons crew loaded up the weapons. Once they were ready, they fired several waves of missiles at the ACs, the OHPs and the Arliegh Burkes.

Hopefully they would be able to damage the fleet before it came much closer.

The Phalanxes on the OHP's and Burkes and Kitty Hawks went to work, taking out at least 2-4 missiles from each wave of missiles going at each ship. ECM jammers also went to work, blaring white noise in an attempt to stop the missiles, sending at least 3 from each wave off course.

Still, moderate damage was done to 3 Kitty Hawks, 2 OHP's, and 2 Arliegh Burkes. The arsenal ship was hit, and had to withdraw.

The rest of the arsenal ships and even the CES Wasps soon fired wave after wave of Tomahawks at the enemy fleet, going after the AAS units and Arsenal Ships. The Virginias also began to fire torpedoes at every ship in the Alpha Fleet, targeting the Aircraft Carriers and enemy subs and support ships especially before moving. They also threw up their own Tomahawks and even Harpoons at the AC's to ensure a hit.

The aircraft on the CES AAS and Carriers lifted off; the Harriers and half of the F-35's targeting the Ticonderogas and the Californias, the other gunning for the enemy Kitty Hawks and enemy aircraft.

The Sea Kings were also deployed to hunt for enemy subs. If they saw something, they knew what to do.

The Burkes and OHP's soon began firing Tomahawks on the landing Moronickyan forces, hoping to slow them up....

--------

The BDF was taking heavy casualties; 1,000 of their own had been hit and they had lost 25 more tanks. Still, they kept on going.......

The paltry BDF units, some 350 that could be spared, were deployed to meet the invasion force at the beach. Entrenching themselves, they soon began to snipe the invaders and fire at them with machine guns....

Voices came over the radio as the men landing on the beach yelled things like “WE NEED SUPPORT!” or “WE’RE GETTING MOWED DOWN!”

The Kitty Hawks quickly responded by sending out 6 of its F18s, 5 A10s and 5 Apaches to try and level the beach before the Moronyickans got much closer. Once they got over the beach, the A10s threw everything they had at the enemy, putting almost the whole beach in flames. The Apaches stayed right above the incoming Moronyickans, ready to protect them from anything that just survived that assault

On land, the Moronyickan forces had lost about 1,200 more men and 30 vehicles. The Nigerian force called for 2 more Armored Divisions to be deployed at the border in hopes of finally overwhelming the enemy.

They kept fighting furiously for about 6 minutes until the reinforcements arrive. As the Nigerian forces pounded the enemy on the border with their incredible force, they would now finally be able to push the enemy back.

The tomahawks launched from the enemies Arsenal ships did heavy damage, as they sunk 2 Moronyickan Wasps and an arsenals ship while causing heavy damage on another Godzilla.

The assault from the Virginias sunk one Kitty Hawk and left another moderately damaged.

The CES aircraft where able to cause medium damage on 2 of the cruisers and were quickly met by 12 F16s and 5 F18s launched from the remaining ACs.

The Moronyickans had taken heavy losses, now was the time to strike back.

The remaining Arsenal ships and destroyer launched several waves of tomahawks at the enemy ships they had damaged last time hoping to now finish them of. The CA class cruisers also launched harpoons.

The Seawolfs below the surface, fired 3 MK48s at the enemy ships and then dropped, hoping not to be discovered by the enemy.

100 Tomahawk Cruise Missiles (at enemies damaged in the last attack)
-26 at 2 kitty hawks (13 at each)
-22 at 2 OHPs (11 at each)

-24 at 2 Sacramento Supply Ships (12 at each)

26 Harpoon Missiles

- 12 at an Arsenals ship

Oh, sorry about that. For some reason I thought it was only the Inflexible there. Will edit.

Changes: I now take more damage on my cruiser and I now attack your wasps

The BDF now conceded that it had to fall back. The situation was way, way too hot.

Forces facing the Nigerians consolidated on the Oueme River, Forces facing the Togoites consolidated at Natitingou, and the forces forcing the Burkinans consolidated on the high grounds of Pendjari National Park, firing AA and Rocket Artillery guns along the way at the enemy.

Entrenching themselves in Second-tier defense lines, they took care to destroy anything of value to the Moronyickans, such as excess ammo, crops, and game. They also began to sow the roads and trails with claymores, and AT and AP mines to try and make the Moronyickans pay for every inch they entered, and they encouraged locals to begin turning what hunting rifles they had on the invaders.

The shore defenders lost 50 men to that napalm storm, yet they held fast. They would not lose their land to some royals. They simply got back up, and commenced to snipe and shoot the enemy with WP rockets, MG's, and Stinger missiles for the air support that materialized above.....

---------------

The Wasps, OHP's, Kitty Hawks, and Sacramentos soon threw up as many Phalanx AMS and Sea Sparrow missiles into the air as possible to try and deal with the hail of fire.

They were able to get about 2-5 Tomahawks per wave, reducing the damage done. But the targeted Wasps, OHP's, Sacramentos, and Kitty Hawks were hit, and sustained damage. The OHP's hit had a sad fate; one was sunk, the other was forced out of the battle and began to limp back home.

The Sacramentos were soon forced to accept a similar fate, the Tomahawks didn't kill them, but the Harpoons knocked them out of the battle. The targeted Arsenal Ship was soon sunk as well.

The two Wasps were damaged moderately, and were still able to launch a counterassault with the Burkes using their own Tomahawks at the enemy destroyers and Arsenal ships. The Virginias and Sea Kings, after some intense searching, located the Seawolves and launched six torpedoes and dropped 10 depth charges at each Seawolf.

A detachment of 20 F-35's, 15 F/A-18's, and 12 TSA-12B's soon met the challenge of the Moronyickan aircraft, firing heat-seeking missiles at them, and engaging them in fierce dogfighting. The rest of the CES Aircraft went after the enemy carriers, destroyers, and Aresnal Ships, using napalm, missiles, and even cannons to try and weaken the enemy.

OOC: You fell back to Natitingou but I’ll assume you left some forces in Boukoumbe.

IC:

As soon as the BDF retreated, the Moronyickans set up a perimeter around the land they had taken. They now had their bases around the enemy, they started to move in like a noose tightening around a neck.

The Nigerian and Burkian forces began to try to make a safe path to the next towns they were attacking. However, the BDF that was fighting Togo had fallen back to Natitingou, that meant that the enemy has just left Boukoumbe, that was where the Moronyickans would strike.

To the Togo-Moronyickans surprise, there was a lot more resistance from the civilian population then they had anticipated. Whenever they would come across a house with hostile civilians, they would kill the people and take the house for their own.

Once they reached the actual city of Boukoumbe, they ran into more BDF and the fighting started again. The Moronyickans where forced to level buildings that the BDF were stationed in, they would level the whole if they had to.

The other Moronyickan forces at this time were destroying or finding ways around the mines the enemy had placed. They had already lost about 20 men and a HUMV to the mines. As soon as their ways were clear, they would be ready to march to the next cities.

On the beach, the Moronyickans had lost several men from the enemy fire. The enemy AA fired had brought down 2 F18s, 2 A10s and an Apache.

The landing forces had now reached the beach. The quickly exited their landing craft and ran forward. The Apaches in the air saw what they were up against and immediately went to work. The Apaches released the might of their; 33mm Gun, 70mm Rockets and AGM-114 Hellfire missiles. The 4 Apaches pounded the enemy hoping to buy time for more landing forces.

By now the AASes new that the beach defense was decreasing, they would no longer have the power to sink the enormous ships with what they had on the beach. And with that, they group of Wasps began to cruise towards the beach.

At sea, the CES was able to sink 2 Destroyers and cause heavy damage on an arsenal ship. The Seawolfs saw the oncoming attack and tried to take evasive maneuvers, but it was too late. Once Seawolf was completely destroyed and the other was damaged.

The remaining Seawolf fired two torpedoes in the direction of the attack.

The Moronyickans had now almost emptied its ACs by send hundreds of aircraft in the air.

The rest of the Arsenal ships and Destroyers once again fired tomahawks at the enemy.

The cruiser fired harpoons

The Rear Admiral of Alpha fleet made a call to the Tango Assault fleet, asking for assistance.

Current Attack:

90 Tomahawk Cruise Missiles

The Virginias went on evasive manuevers to try and avoid the torpedoes, deploying countermeasures and moving zigzaggedly.

They took some time out to launch torpedoes at the AC's, too, hoping to score some big damage. They had to snapshoot the torps, though (they were on the run), but they had a good sense where the enemy was....

------------

The Phalanx AMSs on the Wasps and Kitty Hawks pulled double duty, and once again reduced the Tomahawk and Harpoon waves to half. Still, one of the Wasps was forced out of action, and the other sustained heavy damage. It was a miracle it was still afloat, but its crew, which frantically worked to keep things cool, was wondering how long the miracle would last.

One of the Burkes was sunk, having sustained severe damage.

The remaining ships and aircraft of Inflexible soon focused on eliminating the AC's, Crusiers, AAS, and the the Arsenal Ships with Harpoons, Tomahawks, and Sea Sparrows for the enemy aircraft.

The CES Aircraft focused now on dealing death to their new enemies. They too had large numbers in the air, as they too emptied their decks, and they went to work hunting the Moroniyckans. They focused on the F-18's, F-14's, and older aircraft, trying to deny the enemy its most proven deathdealers.

The head of Inflexible, meanwhile, radioed for the Ben Franklin Group to come in. Before long, Franklin steamed out of Praia, and began due course for the Benin coast-they would be there in Six hours.....
---------------------------------

The platoon on the beach had lost ten more, but they refused to budge. They simply continued to aim for the Apaches with their Stingers and SMAW's, and poured Mortar fire on the landing troops.....

---------------------

The BDF troops in the city refused to quit, despite losing 500 men and 20 vehicles. They fought from cover, using rockets, heavy mortars, snipers (civilian and military), machine guns and hidden tanks to make the Togoites pay for every inch they took. They also took advantage of the situation to lay claymores and use Stingers to good effect against enemy aircraft.....

---------------

The other forces held fast, and soon joined civilian units in raids versus enemy forces. The defenses near the River and in the Park were finished, and the BDF was entrenched...they would not leave.

Civilians set up roadblocks with torched cars and crowds of passively resistant people, torched crops, poisoned wells, threw rocks at Moronyickan vehicles, and generally tried to deny anything of value to the Invaders, and anger them all the while using a frustrating mix of Ghandiism and guerilla war.

All the while, they sniped, mortared, and fired rockets at the Moronyickans. And any mines the Moronyickans had removed, they simply sewed more in their path.

OOC: I’d say we’re about 8 hours into the operation

IC:

The battle was going well so far, they had already taken land from the BDF. The Moronyickans started to slow down the assault while they waited for reinforcements. After all, they were in no hurry, they had completely cut of the Benin’s supply route with their blockade and the BDF was torching its own crops and supplies. They wouldn’t last very long at this rate.

____________________________________________

On the beach, the enemy’s AA fire was able to bring to 2 more Apaches. The closest AAS (which had already launched all of its landing craft) was now almost to the beach.

Once it got there, it completely emptied its cargo hold, spilling out 5 M1A2s, 65 HMMVVVs, 25 other lightly armored vehicles and foot soldiers. The Abrahams went straight to work supporting the landing craft with their 120 MM cannons. The Hummers cruised forward to overwhelm the enemy with its machinegun turrets.

The landed forces continued to assault the enemy as the next AAS began its approach. The Moronyickans now pressed forward hoping to finally take control of the beach.

_____________________________________________

The Moronyickan forces from Togo had lost about 1,500 more men and 49 tanks, they were being stretched thin. However, they still outnumbered the little bit of BDF that were in Boukoumbe, but they would need help before they could take Natitingou. They just kept fighting with everything they had

_____________________________________________

The Burkians had not yet gathered their strength, so they held position taking time to heal the wounded and repair their equipment. The Nigerians however did not want to wait; they wanted to continue the attack now.

The still massive Nigerian force was now marching towards the Queme River. When they arrived at the edge of the enemy base the chaos started right back up. The Nigerian force threw everything that they had at the fortified BDF using both ground forces and the attached air forces.

The enemy Virginias were able to sink a Kitty Hawk and damage another. However, that AC was then sunk by the fire of the other ships, as was a cruiser. A Godzilla was also severely damaged. The Moronyickans quickly launched a counterattack, focusing on the enemies OHPs and Wasps. The Seawolf also launched an attack with its MK48 torpedoes.

They were holding off the enemy until Tango arrived.

Current Attack

62 Tomahawk Cruise Missiles

-----------------

Franklin Group was moving quickly. They wanted to reach the coast of Benin before their comrades were ruined.

SIC:

Their plan was to divert attention from the BDF by assaulting Togo. Hopefully, this would cause some kind of a distraction.....

------------------

The Sacramento was sunk, but the Virginias retaliated using torpedoes and Harpoons on the enemy Wasps, supply ships, and enemy destroyers and Ticonderogas.

The Phalanxes on the OHP's, Wasps, and Burkes were working double time, their operators were furiously trying to take out more missiles than last time, there were so many that it was starting to resemble a video game, not a war.

Still, the crushing monotony did not stop them from taking 5-7 Tomahawks and 2-4 Harpoons per wave, leading only to minor-moderate damage for the OHP's and Moderate damage for the Wasps and a resulting counterattack of Sea Sparrows for the enemy aircraft and Tomahawks and even guns for the enemy ships from the Burkes, OHP's, and Wasps.

They focused on the damaged Kitty Hawk and Godzilla, and aimed for the enemy Wasps as well, especially those who were unloading.

Meanwhile, the Sea Kings were still hunting for the Seawolf. They found its very, very faint signature, and began sowing depth charges in its general direction.

------------------

The Moroynickans were slowing down.....the BDF decided to cease the scortched earth plan, they wouldn't be dead quite yet.

The BDF facing the Nigerians used Stingers and Avengers to attack the enemy air units, and focused on using MRLS systems, MG's, and heavy mortars plus SMAW's and snipers and MG's to fight the waves of ground units coming in. They lost a 100 men and 20 vehicles, but they would not fall.

The BDF in the north facing the Burkians counterattacked, firing MRLS rockets and harassing them using civilian guerilla teams, raiding parties from the fort and artillery in the form of mortars and SMAW's.

The BDF facing the Togoites still held. Joining with civilians, they refused to give up Boukoumbe. Reinforcements were being dispatched from Natitingou, paltry as they were, and the forces in the city simply dug in deeper, despite losing 100-200 men. They still continued to use snipers, mortars, SMAW's and mines against them to hold out until reinforcements came, and to make the enemy really really frustrated.

The beach BDF knew they couldn't hold much longer. They decided to move further inland and join with civilian irregulars at Cotonou, where arms and vehicles were still in supply.

The BDF right now was living on a hope and a prayer. They weren't yet reduced to stealing enemy weapons and eating locusts to live, but it sure seemed close. Supplies were plentiful, but how long they would last was debatable.

The Alpha Fleet was now starting to run low on missiles, they decide to focus more on defense.

The Virginias were able to sink both Ticonderogas and damage a Sacramento.

The depth charges dropped from the helicopter were able to do just enough damage to finish the Seawolf off.

The Moronyickans tried to shoot down the incoming Tomahawk assault by using their Phalanxes, but failed. Both the damaged Kitty Hawk and Godzilla sunk along with a Wasp, another Wasp was moderately damaged.

The MRN then fired off a small assault of harpoons, just to try and prove that they were still dangerous. They focused on the enemy’s last Sacramento, they would attempt to destroy the last bit of supplies the enemy had, supplies that the BDF would soon need.

______________________________________________

The Moronyickans had finally taken the beach. They established a defensive perimeter to defend against any hostiles from the next town and they began to create a beachhead.

The 2 Wasps (the only ones that didn’t get destroyed by the enemy) began to come in and drop off their troops. They also radioed to the sealift ships to come in and drop off their loads.

_______________________________________________

The Nigerian force had taken heavy losses, but because of their size they were able to keep assault the enemy. They had lost about 19 aircraft, 49 vehicles and 335 men, but continued to attack from both air and ground.

While the foot soldiers armed with assault rifles worked to take out enemy infantry, soldiers armed with M136 Rocket launchers and M224 mortar systems fought to destroy enemy MRLS systems and artillery. Using its own MLRS and M1A2s along with other heavy armored equipment, the Moronyickans kept working to drive the enemy back further towards the center of Benin.

______________________________________________

The Burkians fought back using long range weapons to assault the enemy. They liked the fact that the enemy was burning up precious fuel, fuel that would not be replenished. However, they didn’t have much time to stay and take losses like this; they would need to attack the city soon.

_________________________________________________

The Togo force continued their assault despite the fact that the enemy had received reinforcements. As the battle raged on, both sides began to get weak, one would fall any minute.

The Togo force decided that with their small numbers in might not be able to defeate the fortified enemy. They began to retreat back to the base that had set up after winning the first battle. Hopefully they would be able to regroup with more forces from Togo.

The Inflexible's Virginias targeted the last two Kitty Hawks, and launched both Harpoons and VLS-deployed Tomawhawks at them. Then, they quickly began to move out, as they picked up the new Seawolves. The Sea Kings also found them, and began moving to their general location to drop depth charges.

The Sacramento, Wasps and OHP's began picketing the Harpoons with Phalanx fire. Getting most of the missiles (10 of the Sacramento-aimed and all of the Wasp-aimed), the Sacramento nonetheless was hit, and sustained moderate damage. The Burkes and OHP's soon began firing their own missiles and guns back at the sealift ships.

The CES Aircraft soon went to meet the newcomers, and greeted them with a hail of missile and cannon fire, strafing the supply ships, Californias, and aircraft carriers, especially gunning for the Nimitz. There were still plenty of angry birds in the sky, and they wanted to show that they would not be f**ked with. The Wasps joined in with a chorus of Tomahawks; they had brought plenty to spare, and though they had used up half of their supply, they would keep on going.....

Of course, about five Wasps from the 1st CES Combined Army began moving out to meet Ben Franklin. They had a plan in mind...
-----------------

Meanwhile, the Ben Franklin Battle Group arrived near the battle zone, hlafway between Togo and Benin. However, they did an odd thing.

The Franklin and her sister aircraft carriers sent off a fighter screen to protect the Wasps as they joined up with the newcomers.

Four Burkes and six OHP's, plus three Virginias and 4 Kitty Hawks began moving to aid Inflexible, and before they did move, they fired off their own Tomahawks at the Moronyickan reinforcements.

Meanwhile, the Ohio SSBNs and Arsenal Ships moved close to the coast of Togo, and began launching Tomahawk missiles onto the shore to begin softening up the enemy.

------------

The BDF brethed a sigh of relief on the Togoite front, but the Burkina front saw trouble. They had plenty of fuel, but the Burkians were using sniper rifles, rockets, and missiles to hit them. They had no choice but to retaliate using their own snipers and rocket artillery teams.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian front saw 250 dead, 15 vehicles knocked out, and more and more Nigerians.

SIC:

The BDF General, in the midst of the fighting, concieved of a plan. He did not know of the Ben Franklin's attempt to open a Togoite front. But he did plan to move south to Savé, and stage an attack on Nigerian territory using both his forces and irregular militia. If he could play his cards right, then he would force them to withdraw and fight him on their own soil.

Open IC:

But he had to move fast. He ordered his men to bug out, and soon, the BDF began a fighting withdrawal to Savé. Movign as fast as possible, using Land Rovers, helicopters and tanks, they moved south, hoping to meet with local forces.

The BDF forces in Cotonou, meanwhile, heard about the incoming Moronyickan forces. They soon began to entrench themselves further about 10 miles outside of the city, encouraged by the news of attacks on the enemy's supply ships.....

The enemy’s Virginias were successful in sinking both Kitty Hawks. The Tango Seawolfs quickly began searching for the enemy’s subs, they found nothing. As they continued to search, they were suddenly caught it an assault of depth charges. The subs didn’t have much time to dodge the onslaught, 2 Seawolfs were obliterated and one suffered medium damage.

The Seawolfs quickly retaliated by firing 4 MK48 torpedoes at the Inflexible fleet..

One of the Alpha sealift ships were sunk, the other kept cruising to the coast.

The newly arrived cruisers and destroyers of Tango fleet immediately began to aid Alpha fleet. They launched tomahawks and harpoons at the enemy arsenal ships, Wasps and OHPs. They also used their seasparrow missiles to attempt to shoot down CES aircraft.

The Ben Franklin ships were able to cause moderate damage on a KIDD and a California.

The CES aircraft were able to cause light damage on the Nimitz and Kitty Hawk, which soon launched their own aircraft to counter the attack

The Alpha sealift ship had now landed. It dropped off about 55 M1A2s, 900 trucks and about 48 other vehicles. They would soon begin the assault on Cotonou.

The forces in the beach of Togo began to fire their SAM systems to try and take out the tomahawks. They were able to take out about 19% of the missiles. The rest hit the beach, crushing most of the Moronyickan’s beach defense. They quickly radioed to call for more forces to be deployed on the beach to repel the incoming force.

__________________________________________

The Togo forces which had fallen back were now regrouping for their next attack. Just then, they were informed that Togo was under attack. They quickly crossed back over the border into Togo.

The Burkinans had now gathered there full strength and began their assault on Pendjari National Park.

They tried to overwhelm the enemy with its massive number of tanks. The bad thing was, if the enemy forces fell back then they would be able to rejoin the forces in Natitingou, which would be a problem.

They would need to crush the enemy before it escaped.

The Nigerian force was overjoyed by the fact that the enemy was retreating. They quickly moved in and took control of the Quéme River.

They were surprised by the latest move from the BDF. The enemy had something up its sleeve, but they couldn’t figure it out.

Right away they started pursuing the enemy, trying to crush them before they could refortify themselves.

The General saw that Savé was only a few hours away. So, he picked up the pace. He knew the Moronyickans were moving very fast, and wanted to crush his forces like a pinned butterfly being hit by a tenderizer.

He was within 10, 20 miles of Savé. He was almost home, and he knew he would make it, being ahead of the enemy and all that jazz. To keep safe, he zigzagged and kept his flanks well guarded....and threw a nasty trail of bread crumbs in his wake, in the form of Claymores and AT mines and assorted IEDs.

---------------

The BDF facing the Burkians saw the incoming tanks, and decided to consolidate in Natingou, where there were more men and supplies. They moved as fast as they could, firing rockets at the tanks to ensure a fighting retreat.

---------------

The Inflexible Battle Group's Sacramento tried to run like hell. They got the attention of several Sea Kings, who throught they were nuts when they tried to get them to drop charges on the torpedoes but they tried anyway.....

The other Sea Kings and Virginias moved to fire torpedoes and depth charges at Tango's Seawolves, trying to take them down. At the same time, the Virginias launched Tomahawks at the enemy Sealift ships and Californias, plus the aircraft carriers from Tango.

The OHP's, Wasps, Burkes, and Arsenal ships from the newly arrived Ben Franklin and the Inflexible'd forlorn fired Phalanx AMS shots at the enemy Tomahawks and Harpoons, trying to throw up a s**tload of fire to cover Inflexible's OHP's and other ships. The result was 7 Tomahawks destroyed per individual wave and 6 Harpoons take per individual wave. The damage to the remaining OHP's and Wasps from Inflexible and the Marines was moderate, and all ships retaliated with Tomahawks and gun fire at the Godzillas and Californias.

----------------------

The Ohios and Arsenal Ships continued to raise hell on the beach, targeting enemy SAM sites and shore defenses.

The Wasps approached the enemy coastline, and prepared to disembark men, having them get on the Sea Knights. They also deployed Sea Kings to establish a perimeter around the Wasps, to block their rears from any incoming subs. The men onboard readied their weapons, and prepared to land.....

----------------------------

The CES aircraft moved evasively, trying to avoid the Sea Sparrows using chaff and flares. They then moved to counter the enemy aircraft using Sidewinders and cannon fire.

The Nigerian force could no longer keep up with the BDF that was retreating to Savè, they decided to fall back and secure Quéme.

______________

The Burkians didn’t even attempt to peruse the BDF; they just focused all of their forces on controlling the park.

____________

The enemy Virginias sunk another SeaWolfs; leaving only 2. One of the remaining subs fired 2 ADCAPS back at the enemy. The Virginias were also able to take out the Alpha Sealift ship which had luckily already dropped off most of its cargo.

The Godzillas and Californias tried to shoot down Ben Franklin’s assault with anti missile fire. However, the CES were able to sink an arsenal ships and cause minor damage to a cruiser.

The Admiral had given the fleet new orders; take out the supply ships. And so the fleet focused most of its attacks now on the Sacramentos, using everything from Mk48s to tomahawks and harpoons. If the were successful, they might soon be able to destroy the BDFs only means of supply

From an airbase in Nigeria, a group of 42 F16s lifted off and headed for Benin, the goal was to patrol the skies and prevent the enemy from airlifting supplies in.

_______________

Thanks to the supply and sealift ships, the Moronyickans on the beach of Benin now had an overwhelming force. They began to head towards Cotonou, ready to crush any defenses the enemy had there.

______________

On the beach of Togo, the Moronyickans began firing crusader artillery at the oncoming wasp. Men armed with stinger missile launchers prepared to defend against helicopters.

OOC: THis is RALM, in another guise. Took me awhile, but here it is!

The Virginia that fired at the Seawolf deployed countermeasures, and began manuevering in a zigzag formation to try and evade the enemy. The sub tender on the surface had suffered great damage, crippled by the torpedoes, but the Virginia was determined not ot go the same way. Two more Virginias ganged up on the Seawolves, firing torpedoes at them.

The Wasps suffered moderate damage, having been hit with the artillery. So, they redirected half of their fire at the Crusaders, and the other half at what seemed to be groups of people armed with Stingers. The Ohio SSBNs joined in, as well, dumping their own Tomahawks onshore.

The Sea Kings, meanwhile, moved out, hunting for more Moroniyckan subs, dropping depth charges wherever they possibly could.

The ships of Ben Franklin pooled their fire together, and threw up a massive screen of Phalanx AMS fire, trying to cover for the supply ships, who themselves were firing their own limited anti-missile systems. They disabled 15 Harpoons, and 10 Tomahawks, but the rest got in, dealing modeate damage throughout. They soon remained vigiliant, scannign for more missiles as they threw up another volley at the enemy supply ships and cruisers.

The CES Aircraft began making more attack runs on the carriers, and the Destroyers. This time, they used cannon and, after a quick stop to reload, napalm to try and deal some interesting damage to the enemy ships.

----------

The forces at Savé soon began to assemble, and began a silent blitz to the Nigerian border. This is what they had been waiting for-this is what the General had taken them here for. Tanks, MRLS, and men in Jeeps and trucks stormed to the border, as quickly and as quietly as earth-based physics would allow.....

-----------

The BDF troops facing the Burkians began to entrench, firing back with artillery at all opportunites they could spare.

-----------

The forces at Cotonou decided to hold. Some 250 Ordinary citizens came out, armed with hunting rifles and camo, to aid their 200-300 military bretheren. Together, they planned to hold an old oil facility around on the outside of town, turning it into an African Alamo.
