International Convention of Capitalist Sovereigns

The Macabees
19-04-2005, 21:13
Transmission to All Capitalist Countries
In this world, torn by constant war, I find some respite that the great majority of nations who are active are capitalist as well. Therefore, I have given all capitalist nations a public invitation to the capital of the Second Empire of the Golden Throne, Fedala, in order to discuss several topics considering and revolving around capitalism, and general anti-communism. In other words, we will center on a free market.

The topics of the First International Convention, or FINTERCON, will be:

Reduction of trade barriers between participant nations.
Establishment of an international bank, preferrably the use of the Macabee Universal Bank.
Common military goals.
Establishment of a union, bloc, or alliance in order to ensure policies. Consequently, whether it would be an active or defensive strategy would have to be argued out.

There will be several other topics of discussion, however, those four former points will be the major topics.

If you plan on attending please write back telling us of your plans. We will meet you in Fedala.

Attendees (12):
The Macabees - Emperor Jonach I
Risban - Emperor Robinson Antares Scorpius
The Merchant Guilds - Prince Septimus Augusta
Space Union - President Harsimran Mann
Ameracadia - President Warden
Red Tide2 - Supreme Commander Gregori Mckenna
The Real ALM - Abigail Kleinwald
The Parthians - Shah Khosru of Parthia
Umbrella Corp Inc - Osswald Spencer Junior
Tocrowkia - Grand Prince Richard
Everonia - President Viktor Troska
Farmina - Chancellor of Trade Andre Cirtus
Malkyer - Baron Julian Falkenberg

Onlookers:
Greater Slovakia - Monika Nestepna

We would love to attend this conference but we are against any policy of anti-communism. As you know, we have numerous communist allies and can tell you from experience that ALL of them are friendly towards us despite our ideological differences. There is no need for anti-communist beliefs anywhere at any time, all that will do is split the world further apart, when really, we should be growing closer together regardless of our various differences.

Therefore, as it appears any capitalist nation against anti-communist policy generation is no longer extended the invitation to attend, we wish the best of luck to the delegates involved.

Such ideology cannot be disagreed upon, even by the most fervent right-wingers. However, Communism has a history of imposing itself on the unwilling, especially those with deep rooted Capitalist beliefs, and it will be the job of this conference to forge the policy which will guide the Capitalist world for the next decade, or even the next hundred years. So while you may co-exist with the Communist, some of us find said act impossible. And so, you must understand our position, and the reasoning behind this conference. It is, without question, our self defense.

I might be interested in joining, but I'm not quite sure if I'll be allowed.

You see, my government is a Technocracy, which is a 21st+ century type of government that focuses on science, logic, and productivity. A Technocracy borrows a bit from democracy, socialism, and ogilarchy, but at the same time, is not any of them.

A Technocracy basically promotes industry, productivity, and science. I am not sure if this would fit in with a "Capitalist" type of alliance / "support-system" like the one you are suggesting, Macabees.

Azazia
20-04-2005, 03:18
The United Kingdom of Azazia wholeheartedly endorses the ideals of responsible free-trade in the international marketplace. The Kingdom boasts a robust economy through its mixed market strategies and subsidization of certain key strategic industries, most notably defence. While we support most of the goals of FINTERCON, my government sides with our esteemed colleagues in Pacitalia in their opposition to “anti-communist ideology.”

The world situation, as most surely all of us are aware, is fraught with nations bent on waging war for simple ideological differences in the “interests” of citizens not of their state. The position of the Kingdom’s government, which notably includes a significant Communist Party minority in Parliament, remains to bring the world together through peace, inclusion, and understanding. Attempts to exclude individuals and generalize history appear nothing short of mere propaganda. History is also replete with stories of war and conquest with capitalist-based nations imposing their own will upon centrally-planned states.

In short, the United Kingdom wishes the participants – especially our friends in Fedala – and the organization the best and recognizes the differences in philosophies. We maintain, however, the hope that said parties will come to recognize that co-existence and cooperation are essential elements of a world system that fosters peace and prosperity for all – regardless of flag and ideology.

Would people feel more comfortable if instead of a bloc designed to stop communist aggression, instead an organization which set trade barriers, set prices, and decided on member wide economic issues be formed? It would still be an alliance/bloc type thing, only less radical, and it would allow any number of nations to join. It would also serve as a mini-UN type alliance.

I would even think that Communist nations could join, as long as they agree to reduce trade barriers, and go by the laws emplaced by the organization. However, they are barred from the talks, since the talks are strictly capitalist.

Greater Slovakia

[OOC: Mac, this is Novikov's replacement, lookign to get back in the swing of things.]

IC:

Ahojte,

As some may have noted, sweeping changes have been going through Greater Slovakia. While currently Socialist, the proposal has been made to privatize industry and many in our Government stand to gain from the move to Capitalism.

As such, the Slovak people are seeking to open new economic and political avenues. It is felt that the FINTERCON is a good place to start. Therefore, it is requested that Monika Nestepna, Minister of the Economy, be allowed to attend a special diplomat and spectator. As a currently non-Capitalist nation, we would request no voting privileges, simply the right to propose issues regarding foreign involvement (namely private industry) in Greater Slovakia's economy, particularly in the mining sector. If additional information is needed, we would be happy to provide the FINTERCON with it.

We also feel that limited involvement by some Socialist and/or Communist nations would serve to benefit the FINTERCON, as it would establish credibility of member nations as willing to be involved in trade, and serve to better open the doors of Socialist and/or Communist nations which are otherwise isolated from their Capitalist trading partners.

If this request is at all possible, we encourage the admission of Ms. Nestepna. We write in hopes of cooperation.

Yours,
Ministerstvo-Zahranicny Vadovicky Alexej

Monika Nestepna is indeed allowed to come to the conference as an onlooker. Moreover, we do not rule out trade with Communist nations, since that, in a sense, would be a barrier to trade. But in any case, she has been confirmed.

Ms. Nestepna wishes to extend her deepest thanks at being allowed the honor of attending FINTERCON. We only can hope this owrks to the beneift of all nations involved.

The Sharina Technocracy is interested in sending a delegate to this conference, in hopes of promoting progress and trade. Progress is paramount to any viable development of a civilization, and progress comes through competition.

We shall be sending our Director of Economics, Dr. Praviel Tres'vac to this conference. He has been credited with developing the concept behind the energy Diamond credit, moving Sharina into a new age of economics which do not rely on outdated and antiquated paper currency systems.
