Official Statement from President Harsimran Mann
"Today marks a new day in Space Union's and Khalsiastan's future. Fellow President Raja from Khalsiastan and I have approved the Khalsiastan Treaty, which makes Khalsiastan a territory of Space Union. The public of Khalsiastan has wanted this for over 10 years and the government had peacefully asked us before to become our territory and now we welcome them with open arms into our Federal Republic. Both President Raja and me hope for a greater good amongst our people for an eternity."
President Harsimran Mann went up to the desk and signed his signature followed by President Raja. Khalsiastan changed from a soverign state to a territory of the Federal Republic of Space Union on April 17, 2005.
In the Khalsiastan Treaty, we have outlined the following points:
1. Khalsiastan becomes a territory of Space Union.
2. Khalsiastan gets military and economic protection and aid from Space Union to help their people.
3. Khalsiastan's defense fundings go to Space Union's Department of Defense.
4. Khalsiastan get 10 seats in the Congress of Space Union.
5. All Khalsiastan's become Space Union citizens but can choose not to and remain solely Khalsiastan citizens.
6. Space Union gets a military base in the area but pays Khalsiastan's local government an annual sum of $10 million each year for it.
7. Khalsiastan becomes the 8th territory of Space Union.
8. Khalsiastan has all the rights and freedoms granted by the Territory Act.
After 3 months of negotiation, this was the final treaty for Khalsiastan's acceptance into the Federal Republic of Space Union. We hope that the International Community will recognize Khalsiastan as a territory of Space Union.
