Imperial Cottish Marine Corps

Currently there are 320 000 Marines and 700 000 Support & Logistics personell in the Imperial Cottish Marine Corps, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Navy. The Marines are the people who are supposed to pave the way and claim a beachhead so the Navy can land Army troops, who will proceed to reinforce the beachhead and advance further inland, relieving the Marines. This makes the need for heavy armour for the Marines equal to zero. They have several LAVs and Strykers for protection.

Border Police

The task of the Border Police is to maintain Cottish sovereignty at the borders of Cotland. The men in these outfits are all volunteers from the Federal and local police branches, and have minimum six years experience as a normal police officer. The Border Police soldiers are trained for a further two years at the various Police Academies before they are allowed to join the operational forces. The Border Police soldiers are bound by contract to remain in the force for at least seven years after completion of the Academy programme.

The Border Police use M-4A1 carbines and Para Ordnance P14-45 pistols. Occationally you will find Border Police soldiers carrying M-14 rifles instead of the M-4A1 carbines. Those are the sharpshooters, who will place a 7,62mm round with scaringly accuracy into the body of someone who attempt to run away from the Border Police (and look like they manage to do so) after violating the borders. The Border Police have carte blancé when it comes to killing anyone who violate the borders, though it is advised to bring the people in for questioning. For this, the Border Police have helicopters which take the detainees to a base, and skilled interrogators at the base.

The Coast Guardsmen are trained at the Coast Guard Academy in Tahiti, where they learn seamanship, ship maintenance and weapons knowledge. It takes on average eight months for an enlisted to get to a ship or station after they enter basic training, and an average four years for an officer to manage the same thing.
