Currently 8% of GDP is invested in defence. Every able bodied citizen in everymen who has come of age (is 18 or older) is entitled to a government-issue assault rifle. Citizens are at leisure to purchase body armour and ammunition of their own accord. Citizens enjoy compulsory military service at the age of 18 and this lasts throughout their university careers well into their mid-twenties. In a state of war, every male citizen is encouraged to arm himself and prepare for any attacks.
In addition to this, the government has sponsored a professional military 10,000 strong with a focus on spec ops. Everymen currently has a well-funded but tiny airforce, a well-armed merchant navy and a tiny standing army of 10k.
