This is a PT RP. Im lookin for 5-30 RPs, counting myself. This is going to be based in the Roman-Greek period. Now, some of you might begin to try to utilize all of the RTW units and stats. please feel free to use the units, but not stats lol. a spearman would not neccisary kill a peasant for instance. the peasant could have a thing called "luck" lol. luck does not exist in video games, but in this, it does. Making up your own units is recommened too.

This is a link to the map.

map for RP (http://www.nmia.com/~sphinx/images/maps/greek_map_large.gif)

You can claim individual cities on this map. As you can see, there is a very large selection, so you've got a lot variaty.

As soon as there are enough people in this, i will create a new thread for the RP itself.

if i pick troy do i only get one city, do we all only get one city or can we have more.
Caealan
15-04-2005, 03:59
Can I just have Creta? That'd be totally cool.
Khiraebanaa
15-04-2005, 03:59
Troy is going to be considered one city. I know it controls more, but this gets rid of some of the advantages people would get. makes it "fairer" i suppose
Khiraebanaa
15-04-2005, 04:00
unfortuanly for you, no, same reason as to the last.
Havean
15-04-2005, 04:00
ok a will take troy anyway
Khiraebanaa
15-04-2005, 04:02
a quick change as well, a city that is listed in red is naturally bigger. a blue is a smaller city, obviously

*sigh* by BIGGER i mean, a larger place, more people, more room for an army, more money, the things that come with BIGGER
The Parthians
15-04-2005, 04:03
If you need a Persia, I would be more than happy to be such.
The Macabees
15-04-2005, 04:04
I'll take Thaumacia..seems like a good place to tap into Thracian horses.

EDIT: Scratch that...I'll take Athens.
Caealan
15-04-2005, 04:05
Fine then. Ciconia in thrace for me.

I guess since there aren't any other cities their I own it.

Touchdown bulldogs.
Theao
15-04-2005, 04:06
Will this be in a seperate forum?
Khiraebanaa

If you need a Persia, I would be more than happy to be such.

thanks for broadening the horizens lol. name your city

yes, in the gameplay i think
Khiraebanaa
15-04-2005, 04:19
feel free to continue posting, but im gonna go sleep. ill update this tommorow afternoon after school.
The Macabees
15-04-2005, 04:20
Wait, if you can take other cities not in Greece, then I wouldn't be choosing Athens. Is this true?
Caealan
15-04-2005, 04:21
I've talked with Khirae a bit, and you are allowed to take any city on the map not chosen. I don't know if that means take Athens or not for you, but as far as I know those are the limits.
Khiraebanaa
15-04-2005, 04:22
you mean that you dont want athens? you dont have to pick somthing IN Greece. Persia is open, no one is there yet besides Havean.
The Macabees
15-04-2005, 04:22
Well, Athens for now...but since htis is Roman/Greek era...what about Italy? And what year are we talking about exactly?
Khiraebanaa
15-04-2005, 04:24
300 or so BC. give or take a little bit. we do not need to follow the history of these countries. you can do what YOU want to do. not what history dictates.

i dont know if i want to branch out into italy. we could i suppose if you guys feel like really expanding the size of this thing. with this current number of people though, i think just greece and visible countries is allright.
Khiraebanaa
15-04-2005, 04:27
now i really am going to bed lol. ill get on tommorow afternoon.
Theao
15-04-2005, 04:30
How would population, army ect be done?
Are 'mythologics' allowed? Ie: for Delphi would the oracle be real/usable or just a way to make money?
If yes to 'myth?' I would like to place a claim to Delphi, if no to 'myth?' then Argos.
Nebarri_Prime
15-04-2005, 04:34
good question

if i may i would like sparta
Caealan
15-04-2005, 20:00
My opinion on myths..I think it would be really easy to accidentaly GM with, but if its limited then i'm open to that.
Khiraebanaa
15-04-2005, 20:07
by myths, do you mean gods and such? if so, gods could be symbolic, but not an integral part of life. they are unable to assist in combat or agriculture.
Theao
15-04-2005, 20:08
I was actually refering to the Oracle of Delphi, not gods. Basically things that existed but are mythologic.
Khiraebanaa
15-04-2005, 20:12
yeah, the oracle can be used. limited though. the oracle can give obscure information on things, not like, YOUR GONNA WIN THIS FIGHT D00D! lol.
Caladonn
15-04-2005, 20:14
I'll take either Corinth or Miletus. If we're Greek, do we have to use Greek soldiers, or could I use Roman ones?
Theao
15-04-2005, 20:14
Then I'm going to go with Delphi.
Also how are things like money, population, army size/weapons, trade ect going to work?
Caladonn
15-04-2005, 20:16
Also, what does PT stand for? And if The Maccabees doesn't take Athens, I'll take it. Maybe.
Khiraebanaa
15-04-2005, 20:27
trade, weps, armies, thats up to you. you can harvest lumber and trade it to people for weapons and that type of thing.

a blue city has a population of 40,000 max. a green city is somewhere in between lol. a red has 100,000 max. im going to say that a blue city has easier access to rescources and the such.

you can use a roman soldier i suppose. there wasnt THAT much of an essential difference.

and PT stands for Past Tech.
Aminantinia
15-04-2005, 23:55
If Corinth isn't taken then I'll have that I suppose. If it's booked then I'll have Cnossus.
Caladonn
16-04-2005, 02:45
Actually, I'm going to either take Corinth or Miletus, but if I don't take Corinth then feel free. Also, what's the easier access to resources thing?
And thanks for the info. On second thought, I'll most likely use Greek soldiers anyway so it doesn't really matter.
Khiraebanaa
16-04-2005, 03:05
by easier access to resources, i mean that that city would be able to build up a stone wall for example much more easily than a red/green city. a blue has proximity to stone quaries, you know, resources.
Caladonn
16-04-2005, 03:24
No offense, but I don't see how a city simply being smaller will make it be able to build a wall easier. If there's a stone quarry near both the small and large cities, then I would think it would be just as hard for both of them. If a quarry was near a large city but not a small city, then it would be harder to build a wall in the small city. If anything, a larger city in general would most likely have more recources, since people tend to congregate to places with much prosperity and many recources. There are some exceptions, however.
Nebarri_Prime
16-04-2005, 04:10
just a question about Troy would they have a wall right from the start or would Havean have to build it
Caealan
16-04-2005, 05:13
About the wall building thing:

A smaller city equals a smaller wall.
Khiraebanaa
16-04-2005, 05:19
originally, this was going to be more of an everyone-starting-out-the-same-build-up-your-city kinda thing. but, apparantly people dont want that. if you do, please post it. that way, there is no difference in the colors of cities on the map, we can go ahead and just pretend that sparta and troy did not have amazing armies. you would basically start off as a small village almost. a few thousand people max, and you just build up. after that, if your good, you can get better. sound fairer/not complicated to people?
Nebarri_Prime
16-04-2005, 05:22
i like haveing a big army....
Khiraebanaa
16-04-2005, 05:24
although you may like that, as do I, this version is MUCHO simpler. there is nothing different about cities except the obvious land-locked and seaports. otherwise, it depends on the RPers skill, as it would in RL. i greatly prefer this version.
Pantheaa
16-04-2005, 05:38
I'll join if i can have Byzantium

I'll build the great wall of Byzantium that will keep those nasty Persians out
Caealan
16-04-2005, 05:42
Okay, it does make more sense. Besides, time only goes so fast as you can post inbetween others, so be watchful.

I've changed my mind about Thrace. I'm founding a village on Salamis.
Khiraebanaa
16-04-2005, 05:43
its yours.
but im exhausted, so im off to bed. ill be back on in 9 hours.
Khiraebanaa
16-04-2005, 14:44
umm, minor problem here...byzantium isnt on the map...is it? i just cant find it lol
Pantheaa
17-04-2005, 06:45

Ok then forget the previous request and go with..

Khiraebanaa
17-04-2005, 16:00
Eretia is yours.

The Parthians
17-04-2005, 18:50

The Scandinvans
17-04-2005, 19:07
Can I have Argos?
Khiraebanaa
18-04-2005, 00:10
