The True Way of Alan is a nation made up of over 15 planets with numerous other "colonies". The HETWA (Holy Empire of the True Way of Alan) is aggressive and extremely xenophobic. All non-Alanian citizens are required to have an A-chip implanted that allows the government to monitor them, and if necessary release a toxin that kills them instantly. Alanians are powerful psychics and extremely fierce. Alanian culture is all about taking slaves, and prisoners.

Black Guard
Not much is know about the secretive Black Guard. They arrive in the dark of night, find that they seek and leave. To question one is death. Equipped with disrupter pistols, disrupter rifles, and disrupter grenades, an assault by the elite guards can break any resistance. It is due to their efforts that no rebellion has marred the TWA. The general population considers them "Holy". Their Black D.E.A.T.H. Armor distinguishes them. Any sane Alanian would move for a Black Guard, except a Knight of the Holy Order, which consider the Black Guard rivals, and guilty of crimes of heresy for tampering with genetics.

The Black Guard have a history of genetic tampering and bionic implants. The average soldier in the Black Guard has a bone density four times that of a normal human. His dominant arm is intact, but a bionic arm has replaced the other. One eye has been replaced, allowing infrared, night-vision, and a targeting/id/weapons scanner. Their reflexes are several time that of a man and can withstand blows that would kill a normal human.
Knights of the Holy Order
Incorporated over three thousand years ago, the Knights of the Holy Order have evolved into an elite force that answers only to the Church of Alan. In fact, though the general population is unaware of it, the Kings are the secret arms of the Church of Alan. These warrior-priests of Alan are trained in the use of psychically powered energy swords, and wrist-mounted burst cannons. Drawn from the ranks of the Heretic Guard & The Alani Guard, they deploy via mass teleporters from their Dragonfire Battlecrusier Class Ships. Wearing armor styled from the ancient armor that they wore, their tactics are brutal and cruel, but they are kind to non-combatants. Few non-citizens and non-Alanized are inducted into the Knights.
Heretic Guard
Incorporated after the rise of the Church of Alan, the Heretic Guard is responsible for the elimination of all other religions. Feared for their cruelty and war crimes, the Heretic Guard is recruited from the Alanian Guards and is stationed on Slave Worlds throughout the Empire. They are distinctive due to their red & gold uniforms and Heretic Guards are trained with all Alanian Weapons.
Slave Guard
Incorporated due to the need to obtain slaves on slave worlds, the Slave Guard is trained to capture and obtain obedience from slaves. Deploying from Slaveraiders and Dreadnaughts, the Slave Guards are trained in all Alanian Weapons and are sent in after the first wave of an attack. Their black and green uniforms strike fear into all that see them.
Alani Guard
Drawn from the ranks of the Alanian Guard, the yellow and white uniforms of the Alani Guard symbolize the elite soldiers of the TWA. Trained for ship to ship combat, the Alani Guard strike quickly and silently. Using burst pistols and ion guns, the Guards are feared on several sectors for their prowess.

The bulk of the Alanian armies are made up of the Alanian Guard. Poorly trained and equipped, the blue and white clad Guards are the 1st wave to hit in any attack.

A ruthless and cynical ruler, His enemies have been crushed under his hands, and his people are kept under rule with an iron fist, under the guise of religion.. He is an open and kind man to those who listen, but he ruthlessly deals with all enemies and foes alike. Those who get on the wrong side of him tend to vanish in the night, and no one dares question what happened.
He united the Planets and his people adore him. He is considered the epitome of Alanism.
Lt. Comdr. Diego Bahr
The Lord Priests sadistic nephew is well-known in HETWA for his skill with the energy sword, and markmenship. He was a hero of the Access Wars, and commanded the infamous "Unit 21" of the Alani Guard. It is rumored that Diego served some time with the elite Black Guard, but none who offended him or have asked that question remain alive. It is said that the Lord Priest is attempting to marry him off, just to get him out of the way.
