Doujin participates in Day of Silence
Millions throughout the nation of Doujin were silent today as they remembered an old movement protesting the silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their allies. Although harassment and discrimination of LGBTA peoples in Doujin is almost non-existent, the peoples have as a tradition always celebrated the day be remembering those before them who worked hard to make Doujin as accepting as it is now of minorities. Throughout the nation, Night of Noise rallies and parties are planned, as the roughly 1.3 billion people break the silence that once surounded the discrimination gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and allied students and comminuty members faced in their schools, workplaces, and on the streets. Empress Ki'atra is said to be attending the largest Night of Noise rally herself, outside of the Imperial Palace in Doujinshi City.

Stupid queers, you don't get to protest losing rights and discrimination when you haven't lost any.

Stupid queers, you don't get to protest losing rights and discrimination when you haven't lost any.
This is either very poor roleplay or an Out-Of-Character flame. Either way, knock it off.

Neither, it is the position of the government of Miehm that homosexuals are not being discriminated against since the law affects everyone equally and therefore is covered by the Miehm constitutions equal protection clause, I can't marry men, you can't marry men(or women, depending on your gender) the law was passed as a long term population protection measure to prevent the eventual decline that would transpire if we were to have same sex marraiges. Homosexuals are no more or less affected by these laws than I am, they continue to complain about rights that are not being denied to them, they may marry anyone of the other gender they wish too, they are therefore not being denied the right to marry, nor are they denied any other rights, we simply base our definition of marraige on our religious precepts and therefore the law protects only that type of marraige. The stupidity of the day of silence is therefore obvious.

First off, the my post said NOTHING of marriage. Second, Doujin celebrating Day of Silence in no way is related to your laws or culture. So either way, it's still either bad roleplay, or ooc.

OOC: Wrong, Miehm, "stupid queers" is flaming, plain and simple. If you're not going to attempt to RP a condemnation of Doujin's observation of the Day of Silence until you get warned by a moderator, you'd be better suited staying out of the RP.

(tage ness only becuse my subscribe function is screwd..)
The nation of Miehm may make any condemnation it wishes since it sees the day of silence as unnessecary and therefore a waste of resources, the point is that the day of silence is at odds with my nations morals and the people find that making such a thing into what seems to be a national holiday is a thing to be condemmed, it is a declaration of condemnation, not a personal attack.

OOC:
It is related because that is the point of my RP, that the day of silence is a stupid act and a pointless excersize. While your post said nothing about marraige it talked about discrimination and the most common "discrimination" suffered by homosexuals is supposedly the loss of marraige rights, they are not discriminated against because they can still marry. It affects my culture by your seeming to make it a public holiday and doing that offends the church and the general populace.

A day of silence wastes resources by hampering communication and reducing efficiency, by hampering communication more resources are used that would not have been used if the people in question were speaking.

OOC: Good for you! I did this today too. I am not gay but I faced a lot ridicule for doing this. Plus I ended up getting a whole page on our newspaper to write about this. Good for you!

Official Announcement of the United States Government
Even though most people in the United States of Allanea do not observe the Day of Silence, the government has expressed it's agreement with Doujin's policy. Today, Congress has announced it's Day of Silence Act - that is, that Congress adjourn for one day in memory of years of gay discrimination in Allanea or abroad. Republican members of the Senate and Congress have criticized the measure, however, it has already been signed by President Kazansky.

Official Statement From the Office of the Prime:
As per the whim of my glorious predecessor, Prime Pr'Varia Dancos, it is the honour of this office to pay homage to the suffering endured throughout the centuries in nations less socially advanced. It is with a pride that I have observed this day of silence, and hand in hand with my people walked closer towards a future free of hatred. The 2.8 billion gay, lesbian and bisexual citizens (equal to approximately 63% of the population) of The Empire shout together with hope at their close-minded neighbours, wishing that their minds could be freed from the religious dogma/social stigma attached to alternative sexualities. But is with a feeling of hope that I end this message, hope that people will no longer be defined by their attributes, but by their heart.

Official Response
Even though we do not hold such ceremonies for anything short of remembrance for a world war, it is the considered opinion of His Imperial Majesty's Government that Doujin, and the nations of Allanea and The Mindset, should be applauded for their progressive stance towards the LGBT minorities in their nation.
It is good to see that these nations are among those blessed to be fair, open-minded, and forward-thinking in these matters.
As to those detractors; Doujin was a sovereign state the last time we checked - within their borders they can observe silence on whatever issue they choose to, for however long they choose to.

Section sent to Doujin ONLY:
It is also our opinion that nations that condemn this act, by using the laughable claim that it is antagonising their precious fabrications comically referred to as "morals", are insectile fossils that belong in museums.
Preferably behind that exhibit of the mammoth that died of gastrointestinal complaints.
But please remember that not all religious people are retrograde mastodons.

OOC: (about the supposed religious moralists) just ignore them, and they might go away.
also, someone point me at the place in the bible etc that says you have to do what some fool with the morals of the hind end of a donkey says. *forcibly prevents self from ranting*
IC: the NSAA government applauds the spirit in which this day was held, and wishes that all nations were this forward-looking in such matters.
