After the splendid failure that was Earth V, I've decided to make my own closed RP with a set of rules that will allow RPs to run smoothly and prevent 50 million men armies and super space guns. Terra is different than the other Earths in a few ways.

1. NS populations are irrelevent. When you start, you may claim up to 5 nations or 9% of your NS population, whichever is smaller. You are encouraged to RP a small nation, because one of the main reasons Earth RPs fall apart is because everyone's a superpower.

2. Fancy maps updated every two days. I've made a PSD that allows me to easily and quickly update the maps and make lots of different versions.

3. Tech is allowed ONLY up to 1990, although a few exceptions will be made for players that show they can be responsible. No crazy space planes and giant nukes or laser walls. (All of which were allowed in Earth V)

So if you're fed up with the pseudo-future fantasy rps that comprise most of NS, join Earth V today. Claim any bit of land you like, as long as its population is not more than 9% of your own.

The Empire of Xeraph wishes to lay claim to the East Coast of the USA, from Maine to Florida, including Cuba and the area of the Caribbean.

Tenebricosis, beyond the fact that you were total jerks to me which I originally let slide. Now after the way you have treated my Regions Founder on Zifos you have the nerve to base your move to Terra from Earth V because of her technology I think I would like to kick your butt here on Nationstates if you have the nerve. Which I am quite sure you are too cowardly to face. :D

Assuming Xeraph and Sharina don't mind, I'd like to lay claim to any of the United States they did not claim, as well as Canada, Japan, and the British Isles. I realize that Japan and GB are technically first-world nations, but I'm quite willing to tone them down if you think it necessary.

In Earth V, VI had so much future tech that it was practically like Star Wars. Apparently the quality of my RPing is irrelevant since I RPed as a communist dictator.

Please do not allow either VI or Kormanthor to influence your decision to join Earth V. I'm not even sure who Kormanthor is, and I'm sure she hasn't shown you what she said to me. I'm not cowardly, I just don't like future warfare. Is that so hard to accept?

Regardless of whether or not VI's tech was allowed under Earth V, I didn't like it. So I'm making my own RP. I'd appriciate it if you stopped taunting me with challenges to RP future tech, which is simply not my thing. Please be mature about this and either stop harrassing us or I will have to message the mods.

China, the most populated nation on Earth, has less than a million men in its standing army. A 50 Million men is not small.

Well, I, being an ignorant American, don't precisely know where those are. I looked at a map of Britain and didn't quite find what I wanted. So, I'm just going to carve a chunk about the right size out of South England and give it to you.

And I've just realized that New Exodus's claims to Japan and the UK are invalid, as they are not contiguous with North America. So, as of yet, they are still unclaimed. Also, Xeraph, I'm not sure I want to give you Cuba and the Caribbean since they are so ethnically different from the rest of your claims. Even if your nation's people aren't Americanish (And I hope they aren't), I don't see why they would occupy Cuba and the Caribbean.

Mind rises high over matter in the Rogue Nation of TimeGods. Most things that you would use tech for, are done by mental powers. Thus, no cars, and a very limitied knowledge of anything above primitive explosives. Thankfully, when you can travel through space with your mind, it's rather easy to pop out over a tank and drop a bomb on it.

Unfortunately, when your being shot at, it's hard to concentrate. Thus, once you pop out, and bullets start to fly, it's gonna be hard to become anything more then a suicide bomber. And while almost all of my population is capable of feats of mind over matter, very few have any martial skill, and the rest will be incapable of anything other then dying when face to face with a guy with a gun.

If it wasn't for the fact that they have no protection against guns, I'd say no instantly. However, I believe that your population will add a bit of flavour to this RP, so I'll allow it under two conditions:

1. You'll need a better name than TimeGods. Something fitting for a nation. Chronia? I dunno.
2. The teleporting through space must have a limit, and it must be underneath one hundred meters.

Of course, if three people protest, I cannot allow this.

I'd like Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, St. Lucia, Barbados, Martinique, Dominica, Guadeloupe, St.Kitts and Nevis, Montserrat, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Virgin Islands (both U.S and British) and Puerto Rico. You know, all the islands of the Lesser Antilles. That is, if Xeraph's claim to the Carribean is void. If not, I'll find somewhere else to habitate.

Of course we would be glad to consider an alternative name, although the NationStates one can't be changed(that i know of). Also, it's the name of a book i'm roughly basing my nation upon

The limit on mind over matter is one concern, and i realize that, but the main thing stopping it from overly affecting combat is the fact that few can emerge from the other reality(Ideas for it's name?) without heavily concentrating, and as they can see from inside the other reality, the fear of death is a big concentration stopper. The main limit? No one can emerge within a 20 miles of an enemy unit, unless they are specially trained, and there is about 2 of those. And even they can't do it in sight of a enemy unit.

Will that work?

Any idea when all this will begin? And btw...i`d like Norway too besides Sweden if possible. My population went up 60 mil since my last claim...so its 9% of my population for Sweden and Norway. Thx

As you wish. I will relinquish claim to Cuba/Caribbean in favor of Geisenfried.

Calpe, I will allow the claim of Sweden and Norway only because you started out claiming only one nation. After these claims, your NS populations will have NO impact on your Terra populations. Please be aware of this so that there is no later confusion.

Any nation may begin RPing internal affairs and foreign affairs with other nations, but no war will be allowed until 75% of the world's land mass is claimed. At this point, the neutral territories will either be considered disputed zones or areas controlled by successionist movements.

As a side-note, the only reason there are no Australia, South America, or Africa maps is because noone has claimed those lands yet.

Tenebricosis do you have any rules yet for the economics/army part of the game? Have you decided on the century this will be set in...? (so i know on which century to research the armies of sweden and norway, modern or 19th century as someone sugested on the Terra forums)

There was no mention of 19th century technology in the Terra forums on Zifos... I did say that it would be all techonology available prior to 1990. As far as wars and economies go, I am writing a PHP calculator to deal with this. DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH TERRA VOSEM, WHICH IS AN ENTIRELY SEPERATE PROJECT. When players have wars, I would encourage maybe two to three weeks of RPing back and forth, and then a War Calculator will be used to determine the final victor. More RPing will ensue, but along the lines of the result. Of course, this calculator will only be nessicary when players cannot determine amongst themselves who should win a war. The calculator will incorporate a nation's economy, the size and strength of its army, the will of its people to fight, and a bit of random chance. The random chance will be seeded by a word from each player so the same results will arise given a situtation. Understand?

Though it pains me to lose Japan, I will submit to your decision. See you on the forums.

i was reffering to this....Vineyard said this in the Terra forums...thats why i mentioned 19th century :) . I prefer 20th century as i know the tech.

Tene and I have been discussing the timeline. Anyhow, we need a restrictive movement timeline, one where nations couldn't go anywhere quickly. Therefore, I propose that we use 1800's tech. Eh?

No, you didn't read the rules. Read them again, and read them slowly. If you still can't figure out what is wrong with your claim, then I don't want you in Terra.

The total population of your claims must be 8% to 10% of your current population. You may claim no more than a total of five nations, unless I allow you to do so. The reason for these rules is so that there will be a lot of room for many players to prevent total world war and to prevent players from starting out with huge empires. I don't want the sort of player in Terra who will try and conquer the whole continent.

So, tell me why I should let you RP in Terra.

Sorry, this also violates the claiming rules. If you like, you could start by claiming just the Iberian Peninsula and later colonizing the rest, or you could change your African claims to European ones.

Irrational emotions? Be careful Tene you don't want to go there. First of all 2020 Tech is not Star Wars level tech. So if you not cowardly then I could
arrange a conflict of the modern era. Also if you are going to threaten to bring this to the mods then stop cutting down Earth V. I can message the
mods about your comments concerning it as well.

Hmm... I forgot all about TERRA.

I have a simple question, though. Will nations use RL populations in TERRA, like what was discussed at Zifos.com? Meaning, a 2 billion nation that claims Japan will use Japan's RL population of 120'ish million?

Just wondering, as this would be remarkably similiar to "A Modern World" run by Dra-pol.

I would very much like the Midlands of England. As that is my homeland and hence would like the honour of defending it! I am, in line with the rules, only allowed around 8 million people, so maybe a strip from the east of Wales to the East coast, leaving Northumbria and Yorkshire Northwards to someone else whilst sharing a border with Ravenstad and having a coast for naval and trade purposes. Am not sure of the total population of this area but it shouldn't be far off 8 million. If there are any problems with this please let me know.

VirginIncursion I am not really sure what went on in the last RP but can we try to keep this thread as on topic as possible for the benefit of those who want to apply for this RP?
