3rd Earth

In the region 'Earth III' (apolgies to the Earth III crew) a new type of Earth is being formed.

The goal is to create an Earth that would then move through all the time-periods of history. This is labelled as third as a metaphor; the first being NS as a whole-- It has to an extent desintegrated into chaos with a complete lack of geography. The second-- the various Earth's, set in modern day with rather arbitrary claims.

Currently 'history' in this third earth has not started due to a lack of players, but after a few more join, It will begin.

And now, the full rules as written in the separate forum (earth3.conforums3.com).

Earth III is an Idea to create a region to simulate a historical developement of the earth. This means that as time passes, the region will experience shifts from one "age" to another.

In the beginning, only the Fertile Crescent is available for claiming. A member natnion of the Region may claim land in the Areas.

Currently, we are actually in the phase before history starts: Member nations may currently select their initial lands. Role-Playing should not yet be occuring. The time this stage will end will depend on when there are enough members for it to be interesting.
Claims are currently restricted to being within one area. One can claim the entirety of an area; but that would be boring. Ideally, each Area will have many places within it that will be used/noticed in RP. (For instance the Mesopotamia area would have many little cities that would be of various degree of importance).

Inside the Roleplaying that will (hopefully) occur, there will be a number of restrictions. One will be restricted to technology appropriate to the historical age. For each Area in an age, there will be an evolving technology standard displayed in the appropriate "Global" board. Each nation may deviate from this standard only within reasonable bounds.
Secondly, Nations will not be allowed to make actions (such as war, trade, or other such things) in relation to nations they cannot reach, i.e. a Kingdom in Upper Egypt will be unable to invade Babylon until it has negotiated passage through the intervening places. A map will be made to facilitate understanding of this.

However, in other ways, RP will not be restricted. For example, a nation in upper egypt need not be at all Egyptian (although it needs to be human and of a culture reasonable for the time-period). A member may choose to do anything which their nation might be able to do (its just that completely unreasonable decisionmaking will be frowned upon).
Once history starts, a nation may join the region in any of the following ways (RP-wise):

1. As a completely new nation in one of the "Dawn of Civilization" areas (their technology would obviously be very low)

2. As a rebellion within an existing nation (preferably a "dead" one)

3. Taking over an existing civilized nation that is "dead".
