A MESSAGE TO ALL NAVAL DESIGNERS

I am interested in looking for people who can reasonably design a good superbattleship. I want soemthing like the Yamato, but modern, up to date, a tad bit faster (try 20 knots or more, 40 knots is best) , and able to carry modern weapons (i.e Phalanx AMS, Tomahawk Missiles, etc.), and 21-in rifled guns (if you can do railguns, great!). Stealth is a concern.

Cost is an issue, get it to me under USD$100,000,000,000, less if you can.

I do not know how to be more specific, but you are encouraged to ask questions about the project. It will be named "George Washington," to begin....

[OOC: I won't help you IC, but I'm willing to give you OOC help to make a realistic design if you want.]

OOC: I'm cool with that. IC, we're still at war, right?

I still take other IC offers, however.

I am sure, if you wanted, you could find some of our engineers willing to take an under the table contract, even though we, as an OMP member and ally of Praetonia, are obliged to avoid friendly relations with you.

SIC:

Very well......that would be nice.....obviously, this must be a secret.

I'm looking forward to it.

Klaus Grun smirked at his companions in the meeting room. He cleared his throat and began to speak. "Honoured Colleagues, employers, I would like to present our preliminary recommendations for the George Washington class Superbattleship. At over 400meters long, and displacing 370 000 tons, this battleship will be a tremendous undertaking." He thumped his index finger's ring on a sheaf of papers. Those papers were a feasibility study he had conducted on building a superbattleship for the Verdant Archipelago Union. Of course the bastards had decided it was too expensive and not useful enough, then slapped his work under a Top Secret classification and told him to forget about it. FORGET ABOUT IT?! It was HIS work, his and his team's. They had no right taking it from him. His midnight raid on their planning department (raid is a bit of a misdenomer, they had the proper ID and clearances and keys to the filing cabinets, but it was the principle of the thing) had liberated the plans, and how he had a buyer! "We feel the design admirably fills all of your specifications. It has a maximum speed of 34 knots, heavy armour, 9 21 inch guns, and sufficient room reserved for almost any missile system you wish... in fact, the miscellaneous room we saved is sufficient to build an entire destroyer! Over 12000 tons!" He giggled manically

Jake said, "Excellent! We will have one made at Newport News, on the morrow. It will be tested, if it works, we'll make more."

Anyway that's fine. I'll hover.]

Klaus frowned, "But sirs... this is simply a feasibility study. We don't have an actual design yet. What kind of fire control were you planning? How many SSMs, how many SAMs. Do you want them vertically launched? Do you want it to carry any aircraft? What kind of missions do you see it performing? What level of automation are you planning? Would you like it nuclear or conventionally powered? As for building one... something this size will take at least a year, more likely two or three."

Jake then said, "Sorry if was being a bit hasty, sir. I was thinking..... 12-24 Tomahawk tubes, a full Phalanx AMS system, 50-60 SAM's, maybe carry 500 Marines and landing helicopters."

"I want this ship to have 1,200 men onboard, more even running it, the fewer the better, I'm shooting for at least 1,200, so high levels of automation are good. Is EMP shielding possible?"

He then said, "And I want this nuclear power-only the best reactors on the market, Pebble Bed, with a crystalline substance, not graphite...is it possible to incorporate stealth options onto this monster?"
