Black Eclipse

Officer John Manstone walked through the halls of the massive governmental palace. He carried the report that Shadow Lord Carter had wanted, and hoped it would be enough to live another day because when you brought the wrong news, you often paid for it with your life.
Finally he arrived at the door the Shadow Lord's office he opened the door and entered, "Sir!" He said doing a quick salute, with a punch to his chest. The Shadow Lord was wearing a pure black suite, with a red tie. He was slightly tan as was all eclipsians but his demand for respect and fear radiated off of him.
"At ease Officer, tell me of the news you bring." Carter ordered his voice as cold as ice.
"Well sir..." And John went off for hours on the status of the world, events, catastrophes, and nations. When it was over, John began to sweat.
"Excellent, perfect to suit my needs but why are you sweating? Do you fear for your life Johnny-boy?" Carter said with a dark and twisted smile.
"No- I mean yes sir."
"But why?"
"Well... If I failed you I would want to kill myself-" John said trying to save himself.
"Liar!" Carter said slamming his fist into desk, creating a slight crack in the desk, "I punish liars Johnny-boy do you know that?"
"Sir-"
"Don't you sir me!" Carter said cutting him off, "Guards take him away... I have no use for cowards in my intelligence agency." Two guards bursted forward grabbed a screaming John, who knew of the nightmares that awaited him, The Temple of Nightmares. Carter only smiled, at having cause just a tiny bit more pain. He then drafted a letter to the international so that his plans would be put forward.
Dear International,
Today the glorious nation of Black Eclipse, has come forward from its long period of isolation and wishes to extend the arm of diplomacy to others, and hope for treaties, alliance, and embassy exchanges. Thank you,
