Coaliation of the Nations

Canad a
10-04-2005, 04:02
The President of the Federal Republic of Canada sat in the situation room as he read the informative reports on the current statistics of the United Nations as the nations slowly were growing apart. His Interm State Secretary walked over, "Hello, Mister President. You wanted to speak with me?"

The President folded his hands together, "I want you to publicize this statement that the Federal Republic of Canada is withdrawaling from the United Nations Organization immediately and are calling on other major nations to follow suit to give birth to a new organized with more meaning, more then just words and talk."

"Yes, Mister President..."

"However, I want you to speak with the Senate Committee on International Cooperation immediately."

(OOC: Right now, I am looking for nations over one billion in population on their NS nation profile to become the founding members. If you are interested, please send me a telegram)

The Democratic Colonies would like to know more about the aims and goals of this organization before commiting to any action. Is the Coalition of Nations to be similar to the UN, in that all members will vote on mandates that will effect the internal policies of member states? Is there to be a mutal defense clause? Will there be a stance on free trade and open commerce? The Colonial Government wishes to have these questions answered before making any descisions.

The Colonial Government, while still maintaining an interest in this organization and its future, does not believe that involvement would be beneficial to the Democratic Colonies at this time. We do, however, wish you the very best in this venture, and will continually monitor global conditions to determine if the Democratic Colonies might benefit from joining such an organization at a later date.

The Federal Republic of Canada understands, however we are asking for founding nations to join us in developing the CN's Charter, firm goals, explicit statements such as the one on the organization's mission.

We do believe that the United Kingdom of Azazia will be influential from the beginning of the birth of the Charter and the Coaliation of the Nations from the beginning if the governmental body decides to take part of its foundation.

From the presidents desk:

The nation of N Y C is inrtigued somewhat by your idea. However, prehaps before creating an orginization that could go head to head and thus threaten the UN, you could use this as a starting point to push forward reform measures. It would, I think, be more beneficial to attempt to make progress possible for all nations without giving them the hard choice of whether to break away from the UN.

Perhaps if we knew more about what the purpose of your coalition would be, how it would differ from the United Nations; why exactly you feel the U.N. is inept and what you would do to make this coalition more useful --- anything along those lines, we might be more interested in joining up. Right now, it's just way too vague for the Federal Republic to make an informed decision.
