Preemptive Strike on Mondoth

Wolfish
05-04-2005, 17:19
Notification to the Nations of the World:

In relation to the Farmina / Hogsweat reciprocal embargos, the declaration of war on Farmina, and a specific threat to Wolfish by Mondoth (published below).

It is our understanding that you have sent vessels to attempt trade with Farmina, please refrain from this act as Mondothian submarine forces are patrolling the area and have a standing 'free fire' order.

In this thread or by directly contacting me you may negotiate for access through the surface vessel patrolled exemption trade route. Initial offer is 20% of profits from the voyage and that your ships submit to a board and search for contraband and militarily applicable trade items.

Wolfish rejects any right of Mondoth to impede Wolfish trade with Farmina. Further, we find this threat of inspection, and extortion to be without precedent.

As a sovereign nation, recognizing a current state of war between Mondoth and Farmina, and under direct threat of attack, Wolfish Council has declared that a state of war exists between Wolfish and Mondoth.

May God offer Mondoth peace…because Wolfish won’t.

Wolfish Defense Command Headquarters, Camden, Wolfish

“General – we’re ready.”

“Bring it up on the main screen.”

In the centre of the underground bunker, fondly called the Wolf Den, General Blackstone watched at the screen began to display re-time footage from the Mondoth Strike Force that had left Wolfish airfields five hours earlier.

They had just completed their mid-air re-fuelling, and were just outside Mondoth airspace.

The speakers crackled as they relayed the digitally encrypted radio signals… “Dagger lead to flight…arming sequence Bravo…we have a green light.”

The eight B2 pilots confirmed Dagger’s orders, and began arming their weapon loads, while Blackstone watched from 5,000 km away.

“General – final call…do we have permission to launch operation “Ghost”?”

The General took a moment before nodding to the lieutenant at the ops panel.

“Dagger lead – operation “Ghost” is a go. Good hunting.”

“Copy that.”

Seconds later a metallic “whirr” could be heard over the speakers as the flight of nine opened their bomb bays and released their weapons.

It took less than 45 seconds for each jet to unleash 16 satellite-guided, 1,000 pound JDAMs (Joint Direct Attack Munition) – a full 24 km from the target areas – and 45,000 feet above it.

“Dagger lead to Command Ops…Ghost is on the loose. Returning to base.”

“Copy that Dagger.”

The main screen in the Wolf den flicked as it picked up the transmission from the guided bombs now heading down to Mondoth in their un-powered flight.

Cutting through the darkness, the I.F. picture slowly came into focus as the bombs fell below the cloud canopy, and made final corrections to their course…

…below – a major military port facility that included a fuel depot and storage containers.

The signal cut out at the last moment – the last picture burned into the screen was from the bomb targeted to the largest of the fuel storage tanks.

The General turned to his Chief of Staff, “Put all Wolfish forces at Alert Status 1. Order all reserve troops to Alert Status 3. I want them ready for a fight within 96 hours if necessary.”

“Yes Sir.”

And with that, the Nation of Wolfish returned to a war footing - bringing to bear its long military arm to sweep aside all who stood in her way.

ooc: Do you have a map...I just realized that I've assumed you have a coastline and harbour...please advise in your post.

OOC: Yes I have a map, Its in my signature.

I hope you realise that you just godmodded by assuming your attack was successful, I'll allow it THIS time, but note that some SAMs were fired at the bombers and might have hit.

IC: SIR! Strategic bomber strike on Camden Bay Naval base, damage reports are still coming in but it looks like the FICVs will probably be a write off.

Shit! Where did it come from?

'no idea, Our analysts are going over the information now and SATINT is trying to back track the bombers.' an orderly apears in the door holding a folder of sattelite imagery.

Sir, as far as we can tell, at least eight, probably nine B-2 bombers took off from Wolfish controlled territoryand participated in the strike, its hard to tell Because of the aircrafts coloring and the fact that they were flying over dark ocean. Damage reports say that FICV 1 is a total loss and will have to be scrapped, FICV 2 is only mildly damage and will be completed on schedule. we also lost the pumps, and about half of the armory, we only had four barriers there at the time and no carriers or Authors, two of the barriers are damaged and a Gobi, it apears that the fuel station and FICV 1 took the brunt of the attack.

Wolfish you say?

Yessir, that is our assesment.

'Very well.' The Minister of Naval Affairs picked up his phine and dialed.

:The Bedroom of Thomas Drake Prime Minister of Mondoth:
the phone rang, he grumbled, the phone rang some more and the Prime Minister of Mondoth groaned some more, finally coming awake and grabbing wildly for the phone, knocking several other things off his night stand in the process. Grabbing the phone he raised it triumphantly in the air before bringing it down nearer his face.
'whuzzat?'

the coming from the earpice squeeked.
'Sir, the Nation of wolfish has attacked Camden bay with B-2's.'
Drake snapped fully awake in the blink of an eye.
'What?'

'apparently they're angry for threatening to blow there convoy up.'

'well, they attacked?'

'yessir, strategic bombers, old stock B-2's, the fleet is on an active rotation with this Farmina thing and so there wasn't a very high alert status, they slipped through.'

Well, I'll assemble the Ministers, we'll do something.'

All right, see you in the morning'

RE: Conflict with Wolfish

At This Time, Armed Conflict With The Nation Of Wolfish Is Deemed Likely, All Forces Are Hereby Upgraded To Alert Status Five Until Further Notice

:Broadcast on Mpondothian News Network:
That's right Ted.
In other news, After the recent attack by Wolfish on Camden Bay(Cut to stock footage of smoking ruins of Camden Bay Naval Base, sections apear edited), The Government is calling up reserve units to active duty. An excellent indicator of possible military action.

Thats right Barbara, Another Indicator, The tweflth, so called 'Phantom Fleet' has set sail to parts unknown. a usual precursor to massive millitary action.
::

In an apparrantly abandoned farm house, workers are feverishly mating warheads to white Albatross ICTAMs (Inter Continental Trans Atmospheric Missiles) painted with red crosses. This is one of Mondoths best kept secrets, its strategic weapons arsenal. Adopted by the Government right out of college, all of the workers obituaries have run in the papers, They know that their nation may one day depend on the weapons they are now activating and so each goes about their given duties carefully but swiftly, preparing Mondoths nuclear arsenal.

In disguised under ground Hanger, one of Mondoth's other great secrets sits. Twelve B-5 stealth strategic bombers. An evolution of the B-2 concept, these bombers and they're forbeares had little in common exceot purpose. The B-5 was designed using an inovative tailess design that was more stable than the B-2's flying wing and allowed a much smaller RCS (Radar Cross Signature). in addition it carried close to 10 thousand pounds more ordinance. Another special feature was an integrated computer/communications system that allowed real time coordination with surveilance drones, ground force and sattelites in order to maximize the bombers ability to avoid detection and acurately deliver munitions. powered by 4 methane injecting turbo fans the B-5 has unmatched cruising altitude and endurance. Normally kept unfueld with bombs tucked safely in an armoury even further underground, each bomber was now fully fueled with ordinance five minutes away from being fully loaded. the flight crews, normally going about there busness in the quarters next to the hangar, now they were in the hangar looking over their aircraft and readying them for flight.

:Official Statement from The Nation of Mondoth:

Our Nation has suffered a grievous attack, Unprovoked at the hands of the Nation of Wolfish. Our Military forces were attacked while at harbor for a warning, a warning which should not have been necesary. A warning to cease trade with the Rogue Nation of Farmina whose government has comitted acts of an inhuman nature, killings on a scale unprecedented even by the brutal regime of Hitler. We offered an alternative, We had established a safe travel route through our blockade, and we would allow their vessels through, we were open to negotiations. they ignored that and launched their bombers in a surprise attack against our sovereign soil. We offer this last chance for peace, Recall the convoy that triggered this, or at least direct it to a more humane nation, Offer ammends for the death and destruction you have caused. We are on alert now, another surprise attack like the one that occured yesterday will not suceed again, and although You are much larger than us, We will not hesitate to fight.

ooc: That wasn't a godmode...I'd accept any counter attack. But given it was a surprise attack, there was a high probability of a clean launch.

My map: www.freewebs.com/wolfish

You tech level is above mine, but I'm willing to adjust my forces to provide an equal level. At what tech level do you consider yourself?

Wait to to keep from god modding, i would just ask, do you think that in the next 25 years the cost of antimatter would be affordable for rifles or at least be cheap enough and able to be stored long enough for a bomb?

uhmm, I don't think that will be possible in the next... 25 centuries let alone the next 25 years.

also, Your 'wraiths' are very slow, armored with... Iridium? boy, you need to look stuff up b4 you start throwing radioactive substances around and slapping them on a submarine.

My advice; read some tom clancy.

In light of the recent "pre-emptive" attacks on Mondoth the government of Greater Valia wishes to make available the necessary aid to Mondoth. This is of course if the government of Mondoth wants it.
Farmina
06-04-2005, 04:38
We request a tempory stand down by Wolfish forces on this front.

A Mondoth ambassador is currently on the way to far to try and bring an end to the Farmina-Mondoth conflict.

Failure of these negotiations will lead to an advising of a return to the use of force.

Due to a Neonic military base being stationed in Mondoth, the airial and naval forces have been put on standby. The 89th Division of Guards (my army) stationed there have been mobilized and are prepared to help defend any invasion on Mondoth soil.

Note that any attack that even harms a person of Neonic civilianry will be considered an act of war, and will be responded to in an appropriate manner.

Wolfish will respect the cease-fire.

A note, sent to the Mondoth government outlines the Wolfish position...

Your actions against Farmina are considered an act of war. As such, the Wolfish response to your threats were seen to be a further action contributing to your war effort against our ally.

Wolfish is quite willing to cease all hostilities towards your nation - provided you withdraw from the blockade of Farmina, and allow free trade to take place across international waters.

Failure to allow for this trade will result in continued and sustained attacks by Wolfish on Mondoth's assets around the globe.

However, should the current cease-fire fail, and your troops actively take part in the defense of Mondoth, your nation will be treated as an enemy combatant.

Radioactive, more then half the stuff are radioactive a lil 5 foot wall of concrete will cure anything radioactive related except a nuke but that is different.
Anyway antimatter is already being manufactured by CERNS at 1 to 10 nanograms a year (right now a gram is worth around 45 quadillion dollars), and the US Airforce was looking up its uses for bombs ever since June 2000. Back on the iridium case, there are nonradioactive isotopes. Of course i know they are heavy about 3 times as heavy as a steel one of the same armor width.

yes, anti matters current price is more than the GDP of most FIRST world nations, and in the next twenty to thirty years that will not change much, and curently antimatter is not within a thousand years of having any practical military uses (A half dozen nukes are cheaper, and no rifle in existence could fire an anti matter bullet far enough that the guy holding the gun would survive)

also, Depleted uranium makes better armor than radium and is less radioactive. but either way unless you're using a positivly humonguos sub tha is mostly air (I.E. not weapons or people or life support or nuclear reactors) then it will sink like a rock. theres a reason subs aren't made of heavy elements that could theoretically shild them from all current naval arms, and thats B/c they're too expensive and too hard to work with. and way too heavy
