A slender yet confident looking young woman sat down in front a small Holo-monitor about 2 meters away. Behind it, was a typical camera man who began to adjust various settings on the side panel. Around them stood various personnel adjusting their own holo-dials and settings.

It was a set up that was not even needed in the with the auto computer technology available to broadcast crews, however, it was something that the women desired. Especially since she was Head of the Covert "Latebra Scientia" R&D department in the Sovereignty.

Xue Tai Lim, was not just the Head of the department, but well respected by her colleagues for her logical thinking, level head, and hard drive to explore. Xue Lim, or simply Lim to those who worked closely with her, was also very persistent on having everything just the way she wanted. Her "think space", as she called it, had to be perfect. It was in this environment, that many of the most crucial advances made in the Sovereignty were made. The latest development, a foray into inertial manipulation, and the utilization of black holes to provide linear motion was no less of a break through than the many other project that spawned from the LS labs.

As the technicians finalized their setups, the Xue looked at the Camera Operator.
"Are we ready?" She asked.

“Yep, just finished.” Responded the tech. “Alright, recording in, three, two…

As representative of the ES’s interests into Inertial Propulsion, I am glad to say that our technicians and my own bosses have agreed that it’s in both our best interests to work through the remaining hurdles this technology presented to us together.

As you have offered to assist in our work with most anything we need, we have finalized a list of items that you possess that would greatly speed inertial tech development which will be transferred to you when we meet with your representative.

We will be sending a science vessel to the specified coordinates included with this transmission.

I hope that this will mark the beginnings of a long, mutually beneficial, Co-operative between our researchers.

Reply: We welcome this pleasing development , we will be sending a galaxy class star ship to meet your vessel, our reprehensive David H kayborn will be on board to greet you we will brig the specified parts and technologies that you require if there’s is any thing else please just ask.

Over a typical M class planet, in the black of space, a dark orb appeared in a flash. From its center, discharges of energy crackled out in a short line. The rippling energy seemed to begin to dig into in to the sphere it self. A small hole was forced open from where an intense light shot forth. The hole immediately blew open, and in the same instant, an object streaked out. All this happened in a split second, while the space around the sphere rippled outwards. The sphere which had become a flat ring and opened nearly a kilometer in diameter flashed out of existence.

The object which flew out snapped into the shape of a Fire Fly class scout vessel, not much larger than the commercial jets of old.

Inside, Xue Lim sat in her quarters, reading notes on a datapad. A small tone sounded, and psi sensors in her room, which were located throughout the ship like all ES vessels sensed that she wanted to hear the message patched it though the speaker in the room.
“Mrs. Lim?” A voice asked.
Lim continued reading while she answered. “Yes, what is it?”
“We’ve just completed a successful jump into sector 314, and are holding position.”
“Thank you. I’ll be right out.”

On the bridge, Captain Wei Shui took his hand off a button on his holo-panel.
He was the one who had just delivered the message.
“What’s our status?” he asked out loud.
The ship’s AI avatar flickered in.
Before the AI could respond, Shui commented on the flicker. “That can’t be good, have your emitters checked.”
“Yes sir.” Responded the AI. “About our status sir, all systems are operating at optimal efficiency. Sensor scans show that the TFU vessel is on its way.
“Good. Maintain position here.”
“Yes, sir.”

The E.S.V. Sel’en took orbit over planet, and waited.
