Genetic Technology of Biggleses:
In Biggleses, genetic engineering is the norm. There are no 'moral' barriers, and scientists were at leisure to take the science as far as they could. The population itself has been genetically engineered to the extent that there are effectively four sub-species of human (five if you count the Duke himself). The most intelligent of this subspecies has devoted a great deal of its time to genetic science, and pretty soon Biggleses came to specialise in the science, at the forefront of its development. Even so, this genetic technology enables a scientist to ‘engineer’ the genetic make-up of a foetus before it is born. Through a series of highly advanced processes that will be explained to anyone who wishes to purchase this technology, one can effectively design a baby to be the perfect or imperfect human being.
Of course, action has to be taken in the earliest stages of pregnancy or even beforehand before the child’s genetic make-up is set in stone. The scientists of Biggleses are working on post-birth genetic engineering technology.
