Govt DOESN'T Collapse, Huge Offensive Planned

Farmina

International News Network

The political situation in Farmina has calmed in recent days, following an increased deployment of Dumpsterdamian troops. The riots have come to an end, with Emperor Justinian promising harsh punishments for any further civil disobedience.

A large part of the solution seems to be that the increased Dumpsterdamian presence has brought the Farminan military back under control, which Emperor Justinian was having a great deal of difficulty controlling after the rise of the Fascist Block.

This has greatly untied Justinian’s hands especially with greater inter-party cooperation who has promised strong co-operation between him and the head of the new government, which will see Thomas Goth return as Chancellor for Foreign Affairs.

With all his power restored Emperor Justinian is expected to launch a massive offensive against what he has taken to calling ‘militant socialism.’

Justinian: As a free people, it is our duty, not only ourselves against the far left when they use violence to get their way, but to protect all the world’s people.

In related news, Peter Vernis who was to face execution has had his execution suspended, in light of a new agreement with Dumpsterdam.

In Farmina, the wheels of war returned to spinning as they had before the riots. Conscription classes continued their retraining. Weapons and ammo rolled off the production lines. The docks worked overtime, as the ships prepared for their great crusade.

“My allies and friends” began Justinian, “I did not wish for it to come to this, but now I have no choice. The militant left must be disabled before it goes too far. I have no intention of a long campaign, but fast rapid strikes, with overwhelming force against our enemies. Already Mondoth is trying to attack us. Retaliation shall be swift and retaliation implausible. Today I call on all our fleets to move on Mondoth in a single brutal strike.”

Message to Fort Gierling from 5th Corps in Farmina.

The threat of execution has brought most of the councils back into line Field Marshal Talas. Planning on securing Emperor Justinian as soon as conditions allow.

Have already begun fortification of key locations, setting up permanent AT posts, roadblocks and machinegun nests wherever we feel that Farminian security is lacking.

Farminian military is as dangerous as a half-dead rat and they fail to pose any threat to our deployed Corps formation.

Royal Navy escorts are patrolling Farminian waters, standing orders are to look out for Wolfish and Praetonian gunboats and sink them on sight.

OOC: It's been 3 NS days, right?

IC: The Carrier battle group AVALANCHE moved into position outside Farminan waters. The Nimitz class carrier G.D.S. Avi began sending of E-2C survalance craft to get a better idea of the naval deploymant of the enemy fleet.

Meanwhile, the Los Angels class submarine G.D.S. Ghastholme ventured into the waters of Farmina, the Mjoren remaining behine to protect the Avi.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

An E-2C Hawkeye survalance craft located the bulk of the ships located in the hostile waters below, what remained to be found where enemy carriers. The Hawkeye radioed back all known warship locations to the Avi, which began planning air strikes on them.

The sub Ghasthome discovers a merchant vessel in enemy waters, and is granted permission to fire. The Ghastholme fires two torpedos, strikeing the merchant vessal in the bow and stern. With all signs pointing to the merchant ship sinking, the Ghastholme dives to maximum depth to avoid detection.

OOC: Anything you feel needs correcting, do not hesitate to inform me.

"The Lord Prophet will not allow a Dumpsterdamnian on his ships, neither will he sit by inactive while you sink his merchantvessels. While you say you will compensate Farminans for their loss of trade you seem to forget the loss of trade, time and resources of the Vermini merchants. All 6 fleets will be sent to Farmina to destroy anyone in the blockade. Then we will land troops to open the ports for us.
Unless you can offer us a deal that compensate for the losses we will make or have already made, we will have no other choice but to wage war upon you. Let me note that I dont expect a deal from you. More info from the Lord or Prime Minister will come later"

Then our men shall be unarmed, and you shall invite us upon your decks, we will pay you for your time spent in waiting as our forces search your vessles as quickly and capably as possible.

The current state on contraband is:

Passengers(spies)
Hidden explosives, weapons, etc.

Those items which are on the cargo manifest will be left untouched, those that we find are not will be confiscated. This is the best deal we can offer you at this time.

Upon hearing your offer, Lord Durthang called upon all merchant captains to allow unarmed Dumpsterdamnian inspectors on our ships."

President Martin glanced again at the small pile of glossy black and white photos from the Republican Military Satellite Network of Farmina. He then looked straight at Major-General Harding, Head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for the Republican Military. Harding nodded.
"It appears that the blockade has been lifted, at least partially, Mr President. We're seeing a large increase in the amount of shipping coming into Farmina, and the Dumpsterdam troop concentrations within Farmina are increasing rapidly. We are also monitoring a large amount of heavily encrypted datastreams and communications between the two countries, and a third, ImportedVermin, though we cannot read any of it, sir."

Martin pulled out a photo of Farmina and frowned at it. The situation was still worrying him immensely.
"I take it we have had no more communications from the Hogsweatian or Praetonian governments over this situation?"

Harding shook his head.
"No sir, we have not. Quite frankly, it worries me. I hate to think what Hogsweat's reaction will be when it learns of this break in the blockade. I suggest we mobilise the Rapid Reaction Forces, the two mechanised and one Armoured Division we have on standby, and also the 3rd Fleet. We should be ready for this, sir, though I doubt we will need to take any action. I think this whole situation may blow over."

Martin nodded, and signed the orders that Harding had put beneath the stack of photos. He sighed inwardly. This situation looked like it could be calming down, and he hoped that it was, but he had to be ready for anything.
