Call for Trade Conference (FT Open)

Gaian Ascendancy

GANN News Desk: ~ Today the Leaders of the Ascendancy Holy Council, knowing the reach of the Republic has drawn many eyes, has decided to offer the first full confernence among the various star empires, at the same time that the Ascendancy has declared the Celebration of Startica, one that will run the course of a month, and be celebrated throughout the Republic, both in Milky Way Core, and the Expanding Galactic Colonies.

In wake of the coming expansion into the so-names Huntaerian Galaxy, the leaders realize that interal commerce within the rRepublic, should be shared with all that wish to enhance their own.

*Camera pan of the Council Chamber*

"While we are more self sufficient of our own regard, we see that others are not as fortunate, and as such, we wish to extend the hand in firendship, in the one way most nations among the stars understand. Commerce..

We invite the leaders of the stars to our Homeworld, where a two week conference will be conducted during our Startica Celebrations, celebrating our many accomplishments, and the dream that is the Gaian Way, in full reality.

We hope that many nations will attend, and help establish a strong union based on economics first, and possibly further down the long road. Those that choose to attend, will be accorded as guests of the Republic for the duration of their stay..

...and see what the bounty of the Republic has given to us, and what is can offer to you all.

The Ascendancy stands ready with arms open." ..said Lord Kerensky himself, declaring Startica to begin on the Full Lunas of White Diamond/Sapphire's three moons, about a month from today.

This is a farreaching step the Ascendancy has decided to take, intent on spreading prosperity to every nation that wishes the same.

To Krioval: Mostly to engage in inital dialoge for the establishment of inter-nation commerce and trade. The inital idea is to spread the concept across the galaxy by having representatives meet each other.

The details will be undertaken when a sense of 'where' to take it is established, as well as where trust lies. This is 'not' an attempt to establish any kind of military alliance, nor to suggest any hostile intent.

Only to push the idea of trade and commerce between realms. This als will hope to engender trust and cooperation, as well as understanding for each other.

Unless a dialoge is established, and this is to all starfarring nations, there is little hope of understanding. It is hoped that cultural exchanges will occur with intent of the same above.

That strength, will bring far greater rewards than conquest 'ever' will.

No one race can domninate, but many races can share in far greater spoils... or achievements what have ye.

We are still idealists, and need the help from more realisim driven nations to achieve a strong balance.

To do this during our Celebrations will also engender a sense of fun during these proceedings.

The ceremony begins with a simple nod of a head..

..and results in the largest space fireworks display ever seen. The fireworks are specially crafted missles that explode and throw massive several kilometer sized version of the norm on Terra.

They occur all around the planet, along with the more normal ones everyone's used to. Not only on White Diamond, but among most of the Core Republic Worlds, as fireworks of all shapes, sizes, colors and patterns mark the beginning of the Celebration of Celebrations..

--

GANN News Center: ~ It begins today, the month and a half long celebration, extended to include two new events, the Seraphim National Soccer Team ceremonies, and more, the announcement of the official alliance between Neo Zeta and the Ascendancy.

Here the celebrations will include customs from several Terran style religions and carnivals, as well as a few the Gaians call their own.

The Republic also expects dignataries from several nations to come, with talks intended as previously to extend commerce between several star nations, and hopefully engender futher the same.

The Resi Corporation
05-04-2005, 07:03
The delegate from the Resi Corporation watched these fireworks with a measure of interest.
I'll be damned if these Gaians don't know how to impress, he thought to himself, watching the massive flames of the fireworks rip through space. He was glad he got here before the show, he'd have thought his ship was under attack if he was caught in the middle of the display.
His name was Ragnar Nieblson, a man of quite obviously Norse ancestry, an oddity in the Resi Corporation and an even bigger oddity representing it. Most likely it was that simple fact that he was chosen; he was an eye-catcher. He towered at 6 foot 5, with a shock of short, firey red hair covering his head and moving down his face into a well-groomed beard. His almost dated hairstyle seemed in stark contrast with his dark blue business suit, identifying himself as a snappy dresser even by the corporation's rigorous standards.

All this pomp and circumstance made him giddy. It was like a distraction placed in front of the main prize to unnerve you and force you to screw up. It was like candles on a cake, or groupies at a rock concert. Frivolous things like this weren't allowed in the corporation unless the morale of its people was running low, the money that would be spent on fireworks merely wasn't necessary. And it was money that brought him here, after all, the money that the corporation could make if interstellar trade routes were opened to it.

And so, Ragnar waited patiently for the gathering to begin.

The Kriovalian ship arrived at its destination. Normally protocol would have dictated that a subdirector attend a function such as this, but the past strain with Neo Zeta and the Gaian Ascendancy plus the very real danger of screwing this up made it imperative that the Commander himself attend. And so he did, along with the Military and Diplomatic Directors. Darvek, Adele, and Kara would keep the government in working order for the two weeks until the conference ended, if Raijin decided to stay that long.

The fireworks were impressive, but whatever enjoyment was obtained among the Kriovalians was dispelled by the sheer waste of resources. Even on the Festival of the Fighters, when fireworks exploded seemingly for hours, they were planetary displays, and not these massive undertakings. Raijin sighed as he remembered the last meeting with the Gaians. Of course, he had made a pact with Xenonier during the talks, but the Gaians were nearly implacable when it came to their version of "idealism". It would be a long two weeks.

The Resi and Krioval parties were directed through IFF directional beacons to head to the Capital City of Jurai`alheim. There several parties of specially organized greeting parties would meet each arrival.

There was no list of how many guests would arrive, as the Gaians hoped many would come. As a result, the Palace Tree was prepared for thousands of guests.

As for the fireworks displays, the star traffic was diverted through a few narrow approach cooridoors to prevent damage to vessels. However a decent shield screen would make a vessel immune to the space-fireworks.

..blast effect anyway, can't say the same for the blinding flashes if one exploded close.

Jayce was already there enjoying the fireworks. Not to long ago he was fighting for the wave then agianst it. Now tho he was happy and back to normal... well almost. Aura was by his side she never seemed to leave his side anymore.

Jayce had much on his mind. He needed to make this allience stroung. Nova Zeta was now getting more aggressive by the day. It and its Dominion Axis were a major threat worse then the wave. Jayce knew he would have to tell the Gaians about Nova Zeta soon that is if Nova Zeta hasnt already met one of the Gaians ships.

"Traffic control?" Kiv asked, a wry smile forming. "It's as if they don't remember us."

"They will soon," Raijin replied. "Activate..."

"...Dimensional drive active." Koro was already plugging coordinates. "And away we go."

The ship disappeared for a fraction of a second only to reappear at the designated location. In its own way, the irresistable force was approaching the immovable wall. Kriovalian defiance and Gaian idealism. Whether they could truly coexist was to be seen.

"This is Commander Raijin Dekker of Krioval. We have arrived."

"What do you mean we don't have clearance to land?" the comms officer on the SDT Peaceful Rift said to traffic control, "we are the delegation of the Armed Republic of The Serene Death, and if you don't let us land you'll understand why we're called the 'Armed Republic'!"

The traffic controller mumbled something about 'backwater nations getting uppity' before sending the coordinates for the IFF beacons to guide the small, unassuming transport down to the trade conference.

"Problems?" asked a person behind the comms officer. He turned around to see the Commerce Dominar smiling slightly at him.

"No ma'am. We should be there in a few minutes barring problems."

"Good," she says as she turns and heads back to the passenger cabins. "This should be an interesting meeting."

A small but luxurious craft slid slowly back into realspace, fading into sight just outside the orbit of the Gaian planet below. It was sleek and bone-white, with the black symbol of the Legitimate Traders Guild painted large on the side. The vessel was decorated with gold, and the hull was polished to a reflective surface. Light played off it, forming rainbows across the armour.

Inside, Anton Koth, head of the LTG, reclined in a velvet high-backed chair. He twirled an ornate dagger in his hand, then casually flicked it into the air. He caught the tip on one finger, then laid it on the table next to him. He got up and stretched out like a tired but predatory cat, then crossed the floor to the pilot.

"Will we arrive soon?"
"Yes, Sir. We are in the system and are about to contact the landing authorities."
"I don't like dealing with them. You can do it."
"Aye, Sir."

Anton turned around, then strode back to his chair. Meanwhile, the Captain opened a channel to the surface.

"Greetings. This is the Interstellar Yacht Velvet Glove, requesting permission to land. We come from the Legitimate Traders Guild, and are bringing Guild Leader Anton Koth to a trade conference. We apologise for not sending a message ahead of us.

Thank you."

"What is this, 'trade'?" H2-8785 asked curiously, reading over the intercepted and decoded transmissions.

"Some native organics of this planet once engaged in similar activities," H2-50 told H2-8785. "A handful of organics have evolved to a system similar to our own, but for the most part many act on their basic instinct of greed. Trade is to do with this ever-persistent greed. As an example, please suppose monotronium alloy is in demand, that I have a large stockpile, and you need some. Ordinarily I would simply inquire as you why you required the material and then give it to you. If we were organics, I would demand that you give me something in return, referred to as a 'payment'. Usually, this payment would be worth more than the substance you were exchanging it for. Many organics use a system of currency, which is representative of a certain value."

"That is inefficient," H2-8785 said. "How does everyone benefit from such an exchange?"

"Invariably everybody does not benefit from such an exchange," H2-50 said, pressing some buttons on a nearby computer console. Its thin metal fingers went so fast a human eye could see only a blurr. "Organic societies are generally structured in a hierarchy. Those whom are successful in exploiting other organics stand at the top with more raw materials than they actually require. Those whom are not successful in exploiting other organics are beneath the successful ones, lacking the basic raw materials they need to provide their neural nets with power. Nobody ever said all organics were efficient, H2-8785."

"How does such a structure survive?" H2-8785 asked.

"I do not know, but it does," H2-50 said, mimicking a shrug. "I would hypothesis that the more enlightened organics which have adopted a system similar to our own end up supporting the greedy ones."

"I see," H2-8785 said. "What are you doing?"

"I am entering the transmissions into the central database for future reference," H2-50 said as it finished hitting keys.

"Why are you not using your interface?"

"My interface has suffered some damage and I have not yet had time to report to maintenance to have it treated," H2-50 said.

"Are we not going to act on this transmission we have intercepted?" H2-8785 asked.

"Short of becoming organics and developing our own sense of greed there would be no purpose in trade," H2-50 said. "We have all the resources we presently require via our planetary deconstruction efforts on X-472819419-B and ZZIIQ-581285."

"Maybe the organics have resources we were not aware existed, resources we could utilise to improve our own efficiency?" H2-8785 suggested.

"It would be more resource efficient for us to simply find out what it is and create our own version," H2-50 said.

"How can we gather enough information to create our own version if we do not have a sample to study?" H2-8785 asked. H2-50 looked up, and turned its head to look at H2-8785 curiously. Its blue eyes dimmed slightly as it wondered if there was a Mykonian word for 'pwned'.

"Very well," H2-50 said. "Request that one of the ship units allow for a crew to go aboard and travel to this greed festival. I will signal ahead. Organics do not enjoy people appearing inside their territory unannounced."

"I will attempt to find an empty ship willing to take us," H2-8785 nodded. "But they are not common now that exploration is encouraged."

H2-50 prepared a basic audio file of his own voice.
Greetings, I am H2-50. Mykonians will be coming to your event to assess potentially useful 'purchases'. I believe this is the correct word for the activity of acquiring materials for a fee. We will depart when we find a ship willing to take us. Good day.

He sent it through the interdimensional communications array in raw binary, as was normal for them, and aimed it at the source of the transmission; the Gaian Ascendancy.

In the meantime, H2-8785 managed to find a bored, new battleship in orbit of Mykonia; MBB2-128. It had just finished its post-construction health checks and had no crew, no assigned mission, and no hobbies to be getting on with. It was happy to carry a crew for this mission.

Farce, who had arrived several days before the beginning of the ceremony, watched as another firework exploded in the sky. He watched the bright lights with a sort of glazed over look, then shook his head to clear his thoughts. "Conference should be starting soon," he said to himself, and began walking through the city. He noticed a person who looked as if he was a government employed official (Police? Trafficker? Not sure what to put) and tapped him on the shoulder. "Excuse me, but would you know where the trade conference is being held?"

((OC- Dang, I'm going to have to be general in responses, trying to respond to each nation individually would take too long for each response. Hope everyone bears with me.

..and remember I am 'not' snubbing anyone if I miss somebody, and trust me, I'm not perfect, as Mykonians put 'organics'. ))
-----

Essentially the same message of arrival was given to all the various arrivals. The one the Serene Death delegation got, was an appology response with where to land.. apparently the IFF database was confusing theirs for an enemy for some reason. (..there 'are' those out there..) ..but the situation was cleared up quickly.

When they all landed, one format or another, the greeting parties consisted of two Gaian Shinto maidens or priests, an Ascendant, an Angelic (either a simple Messenger or architypical winged humanoid.) and a Krystallian (their glassy bodies made the fireworks reflect off them with a strange beauty.

The greeting was practiced and standard for the dignitaries, with some parts meant for special races or civilizations with worries about diplomatic snafus.

"Welcome to our homeworld honored guests. Do know that the actually Conference will take place two days from this night of fireworks. You will know when it is time, for each of your guest chambers within the Palace will notify you.

For those that are special cases such as living vessels and such, special chambers have been molded from the Tree to match your specific needs, based on standard data retrieved from your respective goverments. This only consisted of basic needs of sustience and care, as well as for special culinary diets or atmospheric needs. There are even chambers and devices constructed for those with totally different environments, and/or special inorganic needs.

Do know we cannot meet 'every' need or special case except on a pure case by case basis, and will accomidate as best we can to any situation that stands out from the norm. However that level of care will be as equal to all other races and civilizations of such tender bents, so as to not insult any race or civilization here. Our intent is to create a truly homogenous climate of trust here, and that 'all' civilizations and races here will feel the same.

Your hosts hope this will be reciprocated by all dignataries when the Conference comes. As for tonight, all your nations will be free to explore this world and even this Tree to your hearts content.

The last part included the entire Fleet including Ascendant Class A-SSDs, the Palace Hikari Tree Alcove, right down to the War Room, Council Chambers, and with warning, the Council Family chambers themselves as well.

If it's Gaian, for the duration of Startica, it was open for inspection.

Meanwhile the fireworks displays were now being joined by grouping of carnival complexes that were literally popping up through the lush forests in the mute darkness. All they needed was souls to join in and have fun.

When the various parties finally recieve their rooms after travelling through the long hallways (or from outside if prefered/required), each the size of a small mansion in interior size, averaging 200 square meters per chamber (and well decked if anyone read the EWT thread I'm in...) They also are well stocked with data Padd pamphlets and holo terminals with multiple input portal types and external power outlets. (..yes even 120v AC..)

There's also a deliberate suprise for all the guests in their assigned chambers.

A special gift basket filled the flavors and comforts of home, as well as a single holo-pamphlet with the following message:

:: ~ The Startica Ball is scheduled for tomorrow, this event is optional, however the Council Lords will be there in person. Attire of course is formal, but if you need assistance please contact the Formal Wear Department on your holo-terminals.

The Council Members can be reached at any time, but do give a specific need, and be prepared in case other delegate recieves attention before yours. Be assured that there is 'plenty' of time to reach their highnesses in the interm. ~ ::

But as a last, there are messages specifically meant for three specific nations:

~ Neo Zeta
~ Xenonier
~ Krioval

They are asked when they are settled to come see their highnesses in the Hikari Alcove.

The tone of the message is rather important.

"Great. Another lecture on idealism. Just what I didn't come to this for," Raijin grumbled. "There any good reason you didn't leave me back home?"

"Well, Valiyos, imagine what would have happened, me here, without you, and with an almost-exact look-alike. Now what would have stopped temptation?" Kiv asked, grinning.

Raijin refused to give the desired response, instead choosing to say, "The thought of what I'd be doing with Darvek if I found out. And I bet Koro keeps a secret as well as I do."

The aforementioned Diplomatic Director looked at the other two men. "Guys, can we get the hell going? Gods." Koro began to walk in the direction of the Hikari Alcove, the Commander and Kiv following quickly.

When the Krioval and Zetan groups entered the Alcove, the chamber was quite muted from it's bright format during the Wave crisis. The Trees are a bluish glow of light rather than a full brilliance.

" Dose it work?"

Koro spoke first. "I would guess it's some sort of arcane device over which yet another war will ultimately be fought. And Krioval will probably be dragged in, yet again, without knowing what we're facing, only to end up on the sidelines."

Raijin nodded his approval. "Kid learns fast. But please," he continued drily. "Don't leave us in suspense."

Aleaic replies... "Actually it was ancient when the Ascendants were still ways away from Ascending.

As for the war bit, no.. no war. It will be destroyed after we learn only what we wish from it. Essentially the ability to jump between dimensions and create dimension pockets. We've been told by the Ascendants that we could concievable create dimensonal fortresses to stockpile military power within. Such could be useful when we one day become the Guardianship."

Aleaic then has the device shut off. "...but that's for a day eons from now. But when one must plan."

Aleaic then waves his hand for someone to approach from behind the Zetans and Kirovalans..

..as Lord Ackronus enters the chamber, as does Arch-Angel Evanalon, the the ten foot and six-foot five beings eminate strong auras. The Avian Lord approaches towards the center of the three groups, as the Arch-Angel falls behind a touch.

Ackronus then speaks.. "(( ~ Greetings Masters of Krioval, and to you from Zeta. ~))" ..with a bow of his large avian head.

Aleaic then asks simply... "Who the hell are these Nova Zetans? My forces encountered them while trying to extract this thing.." ..pointing to the holo-device.. "..from a supposedly neutral world. The fact they sound too dang much like the name of an ally strikes me as a worry..

..worse when I'm told they use the Dark Side of the Force." ..he puts with a nod. "..and yes I'm 'fully' aware of what it all is.

..some 'real' information would be nice, concerning it sounds like this 'alliance' is acting like a threat to us all."

Nova Zeta and Neo Zeta were once one giant empire. 812 years ago their was a empire called The Humankind Empire of Zeta. It size was massive it ruled many worlds. It got so big infact one day The Emperor Brent split the Empire in half Nova Zeta getting the rich and Industry powerful half as well as the capital Nova. While Zeta got the back water systems. Soon both had a decline but Nova Zeta stoped its fall. However Zeta lost all its sytems in time to one point 64 years ago only holding two systems. Since i took over and named our half Neo Zeta we have expanded back into what was once our terrtory.

Nova Zeta however feels its time to Reform The Humankind Empire Zeta. Under their rule of course.

They have also allied with The Dominion Axis. Lead by the Dominion or its old name that you may know Darnassus. It is in Another Dimintion but can creat gates to send ships threw as the please. They are powerful and i wouldnt dare upset them. For 8 months now i have been.......in talks with The Dominion Axis. I was hopeing to avoid a war with them at all cost.

The Members are as Followed

1 The Dominion
2 The Breen
3 Cardassian Union
4 The Gorn Republic
5 The Fedral Union
6 The Empire of Nova Zeta

The Dominion is ruled by a race that no one that i know of outside of The Dominion Axis has met. They Creat races to serve a role. Some for Diplomatic Missions that race would be made to be great at those.

A race made for war ect ect... Also the have races they have taken over.

They are a awsome power if all their fleets attacked at once Neo Zeta would not stand a chance. Hell If just one of the members attacked we would only have a 40% chance of winning.

"Thank you for the welcome. Now for Krioval's response to all of this." Raijin's brow furrowed, and even Kiv inhaled sharply. "First, we do not yet trust you. That is not to say that we don't think your motives are pure. They are, and our previous encounters bear this out. Yet you seem to drag interstellar crises home like a loyal cat, depositing the decapitated mouse-heads of upcoming war on our pillow, or home systems." Raijin was good at many things, but the Commander's ability to use metaphor was legendary in its way. Kiv marshalled a defense.

"What the Commander is saying is..."

And in came Koro. "...That I was right earlier. You have an arcane device, the procuration of which is leading to a war." Unlike Raijin, the Diplomatic Director was very matter-of-fact. "This is a sticking point in our relations, you need to understand. Krioval can't be getting involved in every problem in the galaxy, especially when the problems involve antiquarian technology that rightfully should be destroyed."

"Kid's right again," the Commander said, sighing. "Look, I don't mean disrespect. In fact, if I didn't respect you, I'd just sit here and nod my head, and ignore you later, ya know." He scratched his forehead. "As one with intimate knowledge of divine beings," he continued, with a look toward Aleaic, "there's a limit to be set. We're fast reaching it, and like Lord Koro said, there's no chance at solid relations between our powers so long as these tendencies continue." He paused, struggling to remember one last bit of pertinent information. "And I'm surprised that you haven't mastered dimensional travel yet. We managed it in three years. What's taking so long, and why does some ancient device need to be used when a trade partner already has the technology you'd like to develop?"

A large, strange ship rippled into view in space near where the trade conference was supposed to take place. It had apparently no aesthetic qualities incorporated into its modular hull. Everything on it served a practical purpose, and little else. Still, it behaved almost as though it were alive, and parts of its hull moved as it changed configuration for normal flight.

Four humanoid robots materialised in a fairly quick swirl of bright white light. They were a dull silver in colour, and although rather slender they appeared to be fairly sophisticated; none of their inner workings were visible beneath their outer protective shell. Their heads were smooth, and had no apparent features other than two, wide, glowing blue eyes, which sometimes shut off and on again as though they were blinking. Two of them appeared to have been upgraded for combat; it had heavy armour plating all over its body, including its head, and what appeared to be weapons fitted to their wrists.

One of the 'normal' robots nodded and waved its skinny hand in the air, trying to mimic greeting methods of many organic lifeforms across the galaxy it had seen, without realising that the hand wave was an informal greeting.

"Greetings!" it said. "I am H2-50." He pointed at the other unarmoured unit beside him. "This is H2-8785, a unit who has filled the role of my assistant." He gestured at the two armoured robots. "That is H2-148185, and H2-200734. They are members of the Mykonian militia, and are here to protect us should anything go wrong."

He pointed up in the sky, and held up a datapad with a still image of their battleship on it.

"That is MBB2-128," H2-50 continued. "It very kindly offered to bring us here. Please treat all of us equally, for we are all equal. I am merely the elected voice of the Mykonian Unity. Now, we are very eager to learn of this trade conference and what is available for acquisition here.
"Two days, you say? That is acceptable. We would very much like to explore this 'place'; it is most different to the conforming, aesthetically lacklustre metal structures we have. But is there anything MBB2-128 can be getting on with in the meantime? It will not require much. Some stellar phenomenon to study will usually satisfy the interests of most ships for a while."

Anton looked around his chamber. It had been a long and tiring walk, but so far everyone had been very hospitable. The fireworks were still going off outside, splashes of colour across the night sky, but Anton had had a long flight and he was tired. He lay down on the bed, his eyes already closing. The ball the next day sounded interesting, and he would definitely be there.

As soon as he was asleep, the pilot slipped out of the door and headed for the fireworks. He was going to have fun, even if the boss wasn't.

OOC: I think that the "secret" talks maybe should go in a separate thread, and "flexible time" be invoked to have both those talks and the rest of the conference go forward. Just a thought.

Letter from the Office of President Cairo, MC

We regret to inform the GA that president Cairo will be unable to attend the conference. He is required in his nation at present.

Unfortunately, we can not spare a delegate to send to the conference. Hopefully we can open up trade in the near future.

((OC- I hope everyone's been reading up through the previous posts along the way, otherwise GadgetCorp woulda realized that a massive futuristic living chamber would have well 'stocked' food replicators and a decent sized kitchen each.

..guys, use some imagination and rp however you like until rp elements 'say' it's time for the conference. As for the 'seperate bit' forget it, One thread for it all will do. It's a large world to do other side stories in, as Krioval suggested to me in a TG. =^^= ))

--

The Mykonians recieved the same messages and greeting as the rest ((OC- check ten posts back..)) and were shown their chambers as well, the others were essentially left to their own devices to explore the planet for the next two days until the Conference..

..one if any attended the Ball a day from now that is.

The Magna_Cartman reply given was one of regret and hope for a chance to come when time gave providence.

Meanwhile Aleaic responded back to the Kriovalans rather directly. "Is it your intent to treat us as childen that have no idea of what we are doing in anything resembling a sentiment you will relate to?

It seems no amount of trust will get past your mindset of a rather stringent cynicism. You accuse us of idealism, hence we can accuse you of the polar opposite. You see us as a nation like you expect from other nations and such is plain unfair.

I was the one that wanted this Conference, because I am SICK of distrust run rampant in this Universe. Indeed one cannot change all overnight, but with time, influence can alter the grains even the hardest stone. And I have the luxury of patience in that regard.

As for the distrust of secrets.." Aleaic hands a holocube over to Raijin. "...that containt 'every' secret of the Asendancy to date, knowing of two things..

..one that techonological secrets tends to create jealousies, while parity tends to create stability.

..and two, we intend to gain your trust even if I end up with a condition that requires an Eon's worth of Paxil.

You are NOT expected to be here to solve every situation for us. All I have asked you here for this Conference, is to gain trust. Nothing else...."

Aleaic then looks at Jayce. "As for this 'immense' alliance, do realize that there are 'larger' single nations out there, if Lord Ackronus has informed me correctly.

...some spanning several Universes in size of territory. We all here and this Dominion are still small beans in the greater schemes of Existence. Even an entity that large has weaknesses, and i suspect greed is their most tatamount weakness. They 'can' be deal with in ways other than pure warefare. Hence another reason for this Conference."

Aleaic then says generally. "If I'm an idealistic son-of-a-bitch, then I;m guilty beyond all measure to extricate from. In fact, that is the core reason I am who I am today, and a driving force of an empire as vast as yours are.

This Conference will eventually lead to an alliance none have ever seen before, and one that will engender a trust no one here can completely fathom yet. What I 'need' desperately to create the deam to a reality, is what you bring to the table my friends..

..our idealism.. your Kriovalan realism.. your Zetan drive, and every other trait that has appeared amid our universe and reality for as long as Existence has been in place.

Not only the good even, but the bad and the hideously ugly as well.

It will take 'all' of that to create this vision into a reality, and this Conference is the first of many foundations to reach that point. One of many horrible and painful trials along the road to that point, and after, a magnitude of order uncalculable in multiplier beyond. But know when that day comes, every entity, nation, and soul that agrees to take this path, will have my hand and I will call them brother and sister, by a blood truth.

For above all else, I seek unity in this universe. A REAL unity. One where no nation, and no soul is called weak, and is not looked down upon. A true realm of equality that even the darkest elements of such an alliance would be hard pressed to not be proud of." Aleaic calms his tone...

..I say this.... because I have seen the Balance in my mind. I feel the light and the dark in harmony, and I cry, knowing that it is possible to do the same with those born from the stuff of stars.

I cry for our races, for we do not realize and fight against, what the Balance does to magnificently. It agrees where Entropy and Creation compete, and coexist. It says when a star dies, and other is born.

Is knows when a mortal is supposed to die, and when one is born.

It knew our history before we did. All of time is seen by the living Balance, and has it's own complete history to look upon, not of this time, but timelines seperate of ours, ones of entire universes of being all their own, all around us like their own dimensions, and where they exist behind, ahead, and beside our own timeline. Our Balance exists beside so many others, in so many ways, in Balance with it all.

I cry, because we fight against the nature of the Balance, and all it's wisdom."

Aleaic stops and sighs for a bit. "...and 'that' is why I am idealistic. I only listen to what already is 'pure' idealism, as much as pure logic, pure discord, pure hatred, pure everything else you can think of, in dimensions of their own regard.. everything a 'pure', and everything in a Balance...

..and everything ideal on it's own account. A 'living' account mind you.

Living... and beyond my ability to ever match it.

But by my goddess and everything I love so dear, I will damn well try to ensure a future as close to the 'idealism' I am accused of.

And for that, I will be dammed if this Dominion will ruin such a dream, and i will be dammed if this Conference will be a faliure."

Aleaic looks level at the Kriovalans and Zetans. "I ask for your help, here and now to one day make this all come true. One by 'your' hand, as much as mine. No expectation...

...and damn well no leaning on any individual nation or soul that agrees to try.

If Zetan is attacked, the Gaians 'will' aid. If Krioval is attacked, Gaians 'will' aid. If Xenonier is attacked, Gaians 'will' aid. If Woodian is attacked, Gaians 'will' aid. If anyone else is attacked, Gaians 'will' aid. Logisitcally yes that is impossible even for us, but we will aid in one way or another, period."

Aleaic then stops... then looks at Raijin simply.. "As for that last question, the intent was to gain it anyway one way or another. The real intent was to keep such a device out of unknowing hands.

The device is unexpectedly 'easy' to operate and render entire dimensonal sectors sterile. Would 'you' want a byproduct of an ally to be used against your will, and be blamed for the result because you didn't act when you had the chance?

..besides, Ascendant technology needs to be back with it's caretakers, or at least until it's destroyed.

And if you want to trade such technology to us, name your price. I wouldn't expect such lofty tech to be free, nor will we accept the same. This 'is' a trade conference after all."

Aleaic then adds one more tid bit. "...though for us is double talk, but we intend to give each nation's delegate, a copy of our 'entire' technology base for each nation to call their own. Whether this is reciprocated is up to the individual nation. But the intent is clear..

..we 'will' be trusted, and hence become a polarization for great things. And through us, 'every' nation will benefit. That I swear on my blood. And if even after that aggression occurs, we have 'other' ways of replying, to enusre stability is maintained.

..I intend my words to come whole and true, one way or another.

Aleaic then finally stops.

...then asks with a silly tone.. "Was that over the top to you?" ..and smiles.

Evanalon and Ackronus just look at each other in warily reaction.

Jayce was impressed at the speech but he was in away scared by it

" Aleaic you speak the same words of The Dominion. They speak of unity. They speak of all nations joining hands. Unlike you tho they are willing to force this unity on others. I beg you dont take The Dominion lightly. They are very powerful and have the same goal of you. "

Jayce then smiled "But i will be damned if they will force Neo Zeta into their version of unity."

Raijin looked at the Gaian leader. "Aleaic, you ask whether we treat you like children. Krioval treats other nations based on how they act. You may do with your technology as you will. It is none of Krioval's affair. I will not undermine my nation's citizens by selling them out, however. I must worry that you will give my technology, should I sell it to you, to every other nation..

"In the grander scheme of things, however, yes, we are cynical people. We have every reason to be. The path to the seventy-five hells is fortified with the good intentions of people far better in spirit than myself. Yet many of their failures brought about destruction and devastation that I refuse to ever see again. I was called here for a conference on trade. That is what I intend to discuss. If this entire thing was meant to be a discussion on military alliance, I will disappoint you these two weeks, even if it is put to the conference as a whole. In short, I will not be subjugated by your vision, however grand and unitive. Many other, and I daresay more focused, individuals have tried and fallen. We can discuss this privately after the conference begins. I need to prepare."

Aleaic responds first... "I did not realize anything I said had the word 'forced' in any of it.

..as for failing."

Aleaic then turns around and walks directly to the Hikari Tree on the entrance platform. He then has a blade dagger of pure light form in his hand. As he approaches it.. "Forgive my dramatics.."

..and then takes the blade in his right hand, and slashes his left palm deep and open. For a guy that hates the sight of hos own blood, and even once fainted during a routine family doctor check involving a blood draw, this is 'extreme' for him.

The blood drips and flows freely and a good bit upon the marble and white stone surface of the platform.

He then smears the cut hand upon the glowing trunk of the Tree. The light actually makes the blood 'sizzle' off into a strange pale blue 'smoke'.

"I swear two things upon the blood of this Tree, since words are not convincing.

One, that this idea of Unity will 'not' fail, and nor will it be imposed in any shape or form upon any being or soul, so long as I exist.

And two..

...that every act and guesture done, in any form wheterh of myself, or in my name, will have accounability. 'Every' fact of this extends to every concievable ideal... every fact.. every advance.. every 'anything' falls under this.

..and if there be a mistake or advantage taken against another in response, no matter how contrived the route and result, we will make amends to see that justice is done to rectify the mistake, in 'anyones' name invloved with our own.

...and no matter 'how' long it takes. A day or an Eon, the repair will be mended.

..in my blood I swear in truth."

Aleaic turns around and strides back to the others, letting the bleeding continue for a bit as his Hikari Power heals him gingerly on his own whim.

He imparts at the end. "This is no military alliance. This is an alliance of evolutions, and not one intended to begin immediately. I could take days.. years, in an age that sees nomralcies alien to us here.

It's the Balance that's the most important factor. It is by that I make my oaths."

Aleaic finishes.. "..and I said 'Gaian' technology. I also said the option of choice was to the others to reciprocate. Obviously if your technology is traded to us, then gained by other parties, their acts become our own, and we would rectify 'any' ill act used in response."

Aleaic then holds out his still bloody hand. "If you want to shake on that, I am willing milords and ladies."

((Heheh, sorry, missed that bit))

Farce wandered the chambers, walking from room to room. Finding himself hungry, he began searching for the kitchen. Walking down a flight of stairs and through a door, he found himself in a broom closet. "Nope," he said, starting out the door. After about ten minutes, he finally found the kitchen, walking up to a Food-O-Matric brand food materializer. Pressing a few buttons on the sceen, he ordered a sandwich. After several clicks, the machine spat out a pie, which hit him in the face, splattering his clothes. "Trust the Food-O-Matric company to make rogue lunches," he said, picking up a towel, conveniently placed by the machine, and wiping off the splut. Once again, he entered his order for a sandwich. Out came a small furry hairball which bit him before running off. Five tries and two pairs of clothes later, he finally had his sandwich, and returned to the sleeping quarters in the chambers. Hopping onto the bed, he picked up the remote, flicking on the holoconsole (holoterminal?), absently flipping through the thousands of channels.

Anton awoke sweating and staring up at the ceiling with wild eyes. He pulled himself up, trying to banish the dreams he had had the previous night. He had dreamt of the Battle of Juno, that bloody smear on his memory. He remembered every last detail, the heat on his face from the artillery shells, the thunder of armoured transports, the weight of his armour. He remembered the death as well, smelling it on the air. And he had killed that day, enemies falling before his gun and sword in dozens. He had leapt, spun, slain, and he had revelled in it.

It was the killing grounds of Juno where he had made his name, planting his banner at the top of the hill, and then raining death on the city beyond. And then he heard the familiar voice of the young captain as he ordered the deaths of the populace...

His hand went to his sword, gripping the handle tightly. Was this guilt he was feeling at his part in the massacre? He dropped the lethal-edged blade. No, it wasn't guilt. But what it was, he wasn't sure. He reached over to the bedside table for his pills. Popping one into his mouth he split the casing and allowed the powder inside to run down his throat. Then he was hit by a jolt so powerful that he almost fell out of his bed. The feelings had gone, and he was peaceful again.

Mykonians
07-04-2005, 19:26
The Mykonians followed their hosts to their chambers. The two soldier units automatically took up point and rear positions, running active scans of the local surroundings.
When they reached the chambers, one of the soldier units stayed outside. It stood beside the entrance, perfectly motionless. If its eyes weren't glowing a dull blue, it would have appeared dead. Though, it was running active scans for lifeforms constantly.
The other soldier followed the two civilian units inside, and took up a position at the rear of the largest room. It too became motionless. H2-50 meanwhile sat down and went into a trance of some sort, while it analysed various thousands of different topics.

H2-8785 kept clicking random buttons on the food replicator, making various forms of food appear, before putting them to one side and clicking buttons once again.

"H2-8785, what are you doing?" H2-50 asked simply, stirring from its 'meditation'. "I sincerely hope that the factory which created you did not forget to incorporate the fact that you are incapable of digesting food into your programming."

"I do not intend to eat it," H2-8785 said, holding up something which appeared to be a slice of cake in front of his eyes. "I intend to study it."

"You and I operate on wholly different instruction sets," H2-50 said, dismissing the whole subject.

"I hope to learn how organics turn this," H2-8785 held up the cake. It then pointed down to its chest, where its power source should be, hidden beneath the thick metal skin. "Into this."

"It is a simple chemical process," H2-50 said. "Now stop wasting their food."

"I do not think it is real food," H2-8785 said, putting its head inside the small alcove. "I would have to dismantle it to be sure, but this appears to be a matter synthesiser..."

"Whatever it is, stop wasting it," H2-50 said. "You have more than enough samples for analysis." H2-50 pointed at a nearby table, which was piled high with random samples of food from halfway across the galaxy. Most of it cakes and sweet desserts. "Just how many different types of food do think organics are capable of producing? I am sure you have collected examples from every type of food they have."

"Perhaps you are correct," H2-8785 said. "I shall halt my sample-gathering for the time being..."

H2-8785 stepped away from the replicator and looked at the 'bounty' it had created. It was probably enough to rot away the metal structure of a Mykonian, let alone somebody's teeth. Assuming the calories didn't turn lethal first.

"What is that?" H2-8785 asked. It pointed at a basket.

"I do not know, I have been otherwise occupied," H2-50 said.

"What is a 'Startica Ball'?" H2-8785 asked after reading through a pad it had found. "It says it is tomorrow."

"Your hypothesis is as unfounded as my own," H2-50 said. "I will put in a request asking about it."

"Organics and their celebrations," H2-8785 commented. "I find them generally discomforting."

"You realise that this entire structure appears to be organic, do you not?" H2-200734 said, from its position at the back of the room. "I am unable to isolate any specific organics due to this. My ability to adequately defend this area has been reduced by 50% as a result."

H2-8785's eyes grew dimmer as it looked down at the floor. It seemed less pleased with walking around now.

"You cannot contract any illnesses from touching organics, H2-8785," H2-50 said, in what almost sounded like a sigh. "Focus on your study of their food. I will ask about this upcoming 'ball'. I was under the impression that such an object was a simple sphere..."

H2-8785 tentatively made its way to a chair and sat down, while H2-50 located a method of communication and asked whomever would respond what this 'Startica Ball' would entail.

I am well aware of the implications of what the Gaians may do here, Cassandra. I'm also aware of certain embarrassing admissions by the Politicians back on A'tuin. I told them to adopt the idea, but they were not quite sure that the nations would adopt the idea. It doesn't matter now, a younger nation has the ambition to do such a thing is invigorating. The Kriovalians remained in their rooms for the time being. They had no real desire to see the Dominion leader before the conference, and they had less desire to be cajoled into picking a side in what would likely be yet another massive war. Besides, the ability to sell arms to one side or another as the impulse struck had got Krioval to its current point. Barring any major incidents, that would be how it would remain.

'Indeed. I believe it's an attempt to get the more mild guests to mix. However, I have the sneaking suspicion that all it will do is allow the more ambitious delegates to attempt their own alliances, regardless of the treaty here.' Said the Avatar, uplinked to the major computer network, keeping well away from the security barriers. He was in the guts (quite literally) of the processor, and twitched suddenly, having encountered something quite remarkable lying in the purge files. He kept quiet, and continued to search. Perhaps if the Gaians installed proper AI next time... He had no malice, he was just VERY curious.

'You are such a party pooper. Although I do see the truth in that. Perhaps the Gaians have some trump card they will play at the talks proper?'

'It will have to be one hell of a card.'

'So very dogmatic.'

'Realistic, Cassandra.'

Gaian Ascendancy

((OC- Time for a fast forward..))
---

*Two days later*

The dawn broke at 0612 Local System time over the easter horizon, where the dawn had shot it's rays from all around the mountain chain behind Jurai`alheim. The glacial snows upon the upper slopes a cold mist that the rays had to fight to shine through. This lent to sunshine across the southern and northern approaches of Sapphire Ocean where the city melded with. The morning gleam on the seas was hidden from the immediate ocean beside the city by the same mountains.

That made for the famous 'halo dawn' effect that ran through most of the warm season here, about half a terran year in length.

As the dawn rose more and more, the souls within were already active as all could be. In fact Startica never really stopped, nor was the other normal duties of the Ascendancy. Star traffic and normal buisness mingled with the continuance of celebrating where it could be stolen by chance. Sometimes no more than a tech nabbing a free pastry from a passer by, or a hover-vehicle that stops to watch an OmniFighter flight doing acrobatic maneuvers while shooting off firework displays.

Those that saw waste and inefficency, wasn't looking at a major factor in the Gaians favor. Happiness.

Where too many realms suffered from cynicism and dour states, living under fear or hate, the Gaian was on par, a very happy lot. Aye, make fun of indeed if must, but that simple emotion gave the Gaians an advantage.

Gaians normally did not need to worry about selfish issues, since resources were byond abundant. Gaians did not live under fear, and could contribute with abandon in any endeavor. Gaians could offer ideas, and that led to education and economic systems not driven by the ills of other realms. Gaians that were happy, 'liked' their lives thanks to the freedom of choice. That freedom also lent readily into their feeling of belonging in their universe, and 'that' lent to a willingness to their duty chosen. Every aspect therefore was usually attended to better by a Gaian as a result.

Obviously, only a non-Gaian, or those not of the Four Races Alliance, would see this either as a weak people, or misunderstood somehow. Course then they'd miss the strong warrior culture 'also' within the Gaian mindset, not one from glory or power, but one of excelling. This made a Gaian readily able to stand by their 'idealism' and act with their hearts.

The five core beliefs and their tertiary anncilliaries also ruled far in the Gaian mindset, and these too were celebrated during Startica. Having been dealt blows and lived to learn from them made the will of the Gaian Way stronger.

Their ability to share however was very much another part of the Gaian mindset, even down to core technologies other nations would only give up if they were dead. The Gaian had a reason for this, and Aleaic had been explaining that to his guests for two days and nights, first during introductions, and later the previous evening of the start of the Gaian Eternity Ball, one that was still going on even now, and would for another week. The cacophany of color and beauty with discussion and drink, mingled with good and horrid dancing ability, was interrupted as the Council prepared to host the Conference itself.

..it would be a three day event, non-stop, mainly with speeches, but also for delegates to come and go as wanted, though the inital greeting speech was expected to be attended by all delegates. Futher discussion was up to the parties present, even for those that arrived after the speech, to give fair chance to 'any' civilization that wanted a chance at any inital agreements wanted.

Obviously it wasn't expected. and 'no' delegate was being forced to agree to anything. The entire endeavor was a chance for all nations to know who and what they were dealing with, as well as create an equal playing field for future events, even those 'far' down the road... years and even decades, centures not even excluded.

This was the seed that the possibility of a grand sphere built on trust was to form from. Many mistakes and even greater tragedies were expected.

But then the tree that has a branch broken off, tends to grow anew in response.

This was that seed of that tree, and t's branches and trunk would grow from this moment on.

The Conference itself would take place in a large meeting chamber outside of the Palace Tree, at the Untiy Center, deliberately named. Inside was a chamber that was deliberately a knock off of the Corusant Senate Chamber complex, though here the delegate hover-platforms were shaped like maple tree leaves, almost a canadian touch, but one that lent to the ultra whitestone white surface walls, and the tree trunk portions that came from a tertiary tree that grew beside the main Palace Tree. The branches and trunks from these trees tended to make natural support beams for many of the newer structures in the city. The whitestone and glasssteel structues melded wonderfully with the ancient diamond and jeweled structures the Ascendants built over the ages.

Here the Conference would begin very shortly, and as a result, activity within the Center was a high pitch, as Gaian and Four Races souls moved about to finish preparations for the Conference. GANN Reporters were also all about, with their numerous media-bots covering more angles that could be easily counted.

Here a new dawn was meant for more than just the scenery.

Jayce awoke from his sleep. He hadnt had much sleep as of late. He had much on his mind.

This meeting ment more to him then just trade and friendship. The future course of his nation lay in this meeting. One side was friendship with the gaians and on the other the power The Dominion offers.

He felt this is his last chance to stop any war. He knew war with Nova Zeta may be immenent. He would face that when the time came.

He wanted Friendship with both The Dominion and The Gaians. They both offered much for Neo Zeta. To be friends with one and enemys with the other would be a horrible lose. But as Jessica and Aura told him many times. Better to be friends with one and enemys with the other,Then be friends of neither and the enemy of both.

The Dawn was infact comeing but what would it lead to for Neo Zeta...

'Simply beautiful.' Murmured the woman, peering out at the wonderful sunrise in awe. All too often she and her ilk across the galaxy never had the time to see a sunrise. Probably because only twenty percent of their population actually lived on planets.

But again, she really didn't have time to see this one either.

The hoverlimo was a plus, she admitted, as she normally took the teleportals back home. Climbing aboard, along with the Avatar known as Djehuty, she was quite sure that these talks would be... Anything but normal.

"That's if the talks ever start," Kiv said, with a knowing smile. "They certainly like to hear themselves speak."

A cough interrupted their conversation. "Can I come in? I mean, you're not..."

"No, Koro, we're not 'doing it'. Get in here."

They actually weren't the only ones impatient to begin this. From a seperate teleport source area, much of the Gaian Council arrives in a stead stream, as Aleaic arrives with his wives, and Isarra. Misaki is with them holding Sirrana in her arms, cooing peacefully.

The group (lil lady included) were dressed in Gaian finest, even opulent, though not gaudy by any stretch. The white and bluish edged robes of their stations were garnered with not studded jewels, but actual 'bands' of them along the edges, mainly sapphire, emerald and diamond 'bands' that ran unbroken all along the robes. Obviously the ladies accounterments were far more lavish than the gentleman versions.

Aleaic just lead his enterouge present towards the waiting room, where the group would await the rest of the delegates to arrive, shortly before they appeared.

"Are you certain about this course milord?" Misaki asks yet again about the choice to join with the Dominion. Aleaic hears again.. "...they act too harshly and would see us as a patsy in activities we try to intervene with. Steering them would be next to impossible without a great deal of trust."

Aleaic looks over at Arashi and then Tsui from Misaki, replying. "Trust is the weapon to use here. We 'can't' make them do anything in the first place.

The true idea is to get them all to understand each other, and from there see that distrust will harm them further more than trust itself could ever."

"Krioval won't like hearing more of the same." Tsunami chides, and Aleaic has an answer to that.

"Then they will get what they want most of all from this confrence, so in as long 'all' do, in a manner that does not endanger the other nation's soveringty. We 'did' practice the same with the Inner Sphere and in the Huntaerian Galaxy for 'that' reason.

And more, I think everyone will truly need each other down the road of evolution. My mind cannot ignore the ancient future to come anymore."

As they reach and enter the waiting chamber with the rest of the Council, Aleaic finishes. "Everyone here the has come, 'can' be amicable friends in one form or another.

I feel it and impart that sliver of hope in all their hearts, no matter what I have to say and do."

Azusa hears this.. "..what about our technological secrets? Handing them over like nothing seems illogical." ..said yet once more. The Hikari Link between the members now at a high state of mind sharing for the Conference, hence mind echoes and completing each others thoughts with others was second nature. Aleaic replies. "Technology...

..if Ackronus was correct, the present state of our technology is about to go past understandable levels anyway. Besides, we 'have' to come clean about everything we have to make this work.

We 'have' to gain trust. What we lose now, will be measured as insignificant by the gains down the road."

Azusa nods, though still conservative about that line.

Aleaic then looks around at the gathered Council, respendent in their best robes. (Even Peorth in a ravishing version of her usual 'attire'.)

He then says from pure heart alone.

"Today the Guardianship of the Ascendnacy begins. Today good things begin."

'You neglected to mention that your Dominion has brought around the extinction of a great many races - it's something I commend you upon - Your ability to deny all that you have done that is wrong in this galaxy.' She smiled and felt Djehuty stand beside her.

'But we shall see what happens today, maybe you will admit to your failings.' The harsh tone and ironic ring in her voice suggested otherwise.

Marshal Pixal Kirba rushed down the hall towards the Dominar's room. Better not be late for my first intergalactic meeting he thought as he arrived at the door. He stopped in front of it and checked to make sure his dress uniform was looking good and his feathers weren't ruffled or standing up. They tended to do that when he was nervous. He smoothed the ones on his head down before hitting the panel and opening the door.

Inside he found Dominar Faith Shiomi and advisor Aaron Hanover discussing the meeting about to take place. "Ready to go?" the Dominar asked as Marshal Kirba entered the room.

He nodded, "Yes ma'am, ready whenever you are." She smiled and motioned for the Marshal and Mr. Hanover to follow her to the meeting.

As they walked down the hall, she reminded them of some things. "First off, these are aliens. I don't care if they look like someone you know, they aren't like anyone you know. We don't know them, and we only trust them because it seems they have called this conference on good faith."

"Secondly," she said as they rounded a corner, "they don't know our capabilities, techonologies, or weaknesses, and I'm sure we'd all like to keep it that way. We're here to talk about trade, but if these items come up we want to find out about theirs, not talk about ours."

"Thirdly, they may seem benign, but for all we know they could be here to find out how to crush us one way or the other. Some may have good intentions, but there are always those who will want to hurt us, so we must be cautious."

She stopped at a crossing and turned to the Marshal. "Are you alright with all of this?" she asked as she studied his face, noticing some tension.

"Yes ma'am, I'm not used to the formalities and luxuries of it all, but I can manage a negotiation." He calmed a bit as she smiled, "it souldn't be too hard."

"Alright, good. But remember both of you," she said as she pointed to them, "so far as we know this is just a discussion. We may come away with nothing more than hours and hours of wasted time. Or we may have created a treaty that will help The Serene Death reach a golden age of trade. Or somewhere inbetween there. In any event, do not get angry, do not get distracted, and try and remember to only do that which is in the Armed Republic's intrests, ok?"

The men both nodded in agreement at the Dominar and followed her to the confrence hall....

---------------------------------

As they entered, they were amaized by the complex and momentarily stunned with awe. The Dominar was the first to snap out of it and as she bowed the other two were quick to follow.

They moved to take their seats, and Mr. Hanover whispered to the Marshal, "be careful we don't lose you in here" as he motioned to stark-white uniform the Marshal was wearing. "If it wasn't for your ugly feathers we would never be able to find you" he said with a slight smirk.

Not having a comeback on hand the Marshal simply replied "In respect to the Dominar, I won't say anything against her, and unfortunately your race Human." He smoothed out some ruffled feathers on his hands, and turned to watch the confrence begin. This is gonna be one long confrence the Marshal thought to himself.

Ships in area fleet testing new wormhole tech and possiable a Death Armada.
Description: Humans of every race and creed
Tech level: above Gould level with a slight advantage in wormhole physics.
History: The Ancestors of Deatharon were criminals that refused to sumit to the new world order. The Empire was formed by the Antheron family that took the world Deatharon Prime and incorbated the territory of other families by marriage and conquest making them a paranoid isolanist and Expansionast Empire. The Empire is also oppressive to the populations of the subject and vassal worlds. The Empire is planning to expand into rival territories and take the galaxy by force. The Empire due to its small size is currently trying build up its defenses, and experiment on new tech, and make powerful allies. (Controls 10 planets Deatharon Prime included 1 million people on each.)

"This is an inefficient use of my power cell's longevity," H2-50 grumbled. "I could have filed over 500,000 reports in the time we have been here. Instead I have accomplished little else than working out the iron content of X-29271."

"What figure did you arrive at?" H2-8785 asked, changing the subject completely.

"Ah," H2-50 exclaimed. It then went on to explain its findings. "Well I have estimated that the figure resides at 0.481%, given the gravitational field anomalies and..."

"Fascinating theory," H2-8785 nodded. "But what of the red dwarf that orbits it?"

Farce ran through the city, having lost his way several times, as usual. Finding that he had, for the third time, ran around in a complete circle, he finally took a right at an intersection, coming upon the complex where the conference was to be held. 'Finally,' he thought, running towards the building. 'That's the last time I take directions from a security officer. Why did I think he'd know where it was?' He ran through the doors and into the waiting room, leaning against a wall to catch his breath. "Has...the meeting...started yet?" he asked.

Anton entered the meeting room alone. He was formally dressed, wearing a pure white long-sleeved top with gold braid, black trousers, and a deep red cloak that fluttered as he walked. His knee-high leather boots were polished to a mirror coat, and concealed a slim energy blade. He probably wouldn't need to use it, but it made sense to come prepared.

He looked at the other delegates. They stood in a circle with the air of vultures squabbling over a choice piece of carrion. Hostilities ran high, as did intrigue. Anton had dealt with enough politicians to know what they were like. They would stab you in the back without a second thought if it meant improving their popularity. The Gaian leaders had seemed somehow different to these hard-bitten men and women, but idealism could be even more dangerous than this bloody-minded ambition in the wrong hands.

He strode up to the assorted delegations, hoping that his smile was reaching his eyes.

"Good day to you, ladies and gentlemen. I am Anton Koth, head of the Legitimate Traders' Guild."

He bowed slightly. These theatrics were poor use of valuable time, but he hoped that by showing politeness they would be more willing to listen to him in the forthcoming conference.

"Did I miss anything important?"

((OC- Man, this is turning into a Tom and Jerry fight the way this thread is going. =^^= ))
--

While it was a truly anticipated part of the situation, the Gaian Council waited all this time to see where the arguments went. Lady Funaho and Lady Peorth were even more focused on what was being said openly.

"Spirited bunch.." Lady Skuld said from further away. The proceedings taking place on a series of holoscreens above them in the waiting chamber.

"They all want to assert themselves as the dominant power, or fall in line with the same. It's the old of ways of such things." Lady Seto comments. She then looks over at Aleaic. "Are we 'sure' we want to associate with all this milord?"

"Sooner or later we'd have to anyway." ..the voice was not Aleaic, but nearby, his Father Terrai. Aleaic nods. "Indeed. And sooner it shall be." With that Aleaic suddenly heads out of the chamber, and the others react by following in kind.

Somewhere along the way, and still out of sight of the rest (presumably) in the meeting chamber, comes Aleaic's booming voice...

"I hear many voices trying to assert themselves above all."

Aleaic appears first, with his large enterouge appearing upon a very large hoverplatform merged with the chamber orifice. Aleaic adds.. "...but I also hear too much discord. Too much on presumption that what is for one, is for everyone else.

That.. is foolhardy. The Stars are too infinite for 'any' one mind or force to presume they can command all. No one force is capable of doing that. Ever..

...and history through many timelines is replete with such attempts that 'all' have failed with.

But what usually lasted far longer in context of ages through time, was a plethora of powers of different types working together in a harmony.

That harmony usually lasts tens to hundreds of times longer than any empire of conquest."

Then Aleaic changes his tone. "Shall we not begin the 'real' conference here fellow souls?"

"...but it is almost certain that the immense gravitational well of the supergiant will simply rip the red dwarf apart," H2-50 said.

"I come to the same conclusion," H2-8785 nodded. They sat silent for a while, analysing and storing their protracted musings. H2-8785 finally looked around the room at the various aliens wandering around. "This is not at all like the concept of trade you described to me several days ago, H2-50."

"This is not trade," H2-50 corrected. "This is a mandatory period of posturing and information gathering. Greed may be a base primal instinct, but it requires some degree of planning and preparation to be effective. When each party is confident that they have gained, or know of, an advantage they have over the other parties, then we may begin to see trade."

"I had no idea it was so complicated," H2-8785 shook its head. "What advantages do you think they will have over us?"

"We have deliberately remained isolated," H2-50 said. "We know little about any of the others. On the other hand, they know little about us. Though I doubt many will actually be interested in our offerings. I would hazard a guess that most will be bringing weapons or other technologies to the bargaining table. We will be unable to match such offerings; most of our technology is part of something sentient and cannot be given away in such a manner."

"If you already knew the futility, why proceed anyway?" H2-8785 asked.

"It is an opportunity to study organics at close range without them shooting at you," H2-50 shrugged. "Even if we come away with nothing, we will have that."

H2-50 pointed at the Gaian who had just scolded the masses of delegates.

"There, you see?" H2-50 said. "One has asserted himself over the others, by reminding them of their place. Now we may begin to see trade. Maybe. Do you have that list of raw materials I asked you to bring?"

"Yes," H2-8785 nodded, accessing its memory. "All of the metals and minerals the Unity authorised us to offer."

"Good work," H2-50 nodded. "Now we just need to work out what to do, and we can get involved..."
Gaian Ascendancy

Aleaic cocks an eye towards H2-50. "I scolded none here. I am no one's parent in this chamber. Every delegate here is accountable for their actions. Every nation here can handle themselves as well."

Aleaic then mentally nods to Lord Tenchi and Lord Keiichi. They both step up and offer..

"We offer on our part the following items for the conference's dessimination." ..Tenchi starts, adding.. "A 100 year contract trade agreement over trade within the Ascendancy, over many of our native commodities. We also accept trade stock over our main solid assets of one hundred trillion tons of precious metals, radioactives, precious gem blocks, and water assets. We offer secondary stock over economic viablility over our worlds, including organic and inorganic trade commodities.

We also offer access to our extensive molecular foundy technology, which we have used to reformat much of normal matter into whatever materials we need, including materials that have helped to construct our entire military."

Keiichi then adds.. "We also extend this trade to our allied intergalactic colonies, with regard to access to those markets of understanding. That places over 3,000 Star Systems as trade partners."

Aleaic nods to them both and adds. "Very nice.."

"The Unity has authorised us to trade in materials which are inherently useless to us, but apparently useful elsewhere. We have several hundred thousand tons of gold which we no longer use for circuitry, and strange crystal-like rocks which were recovered by our last MOEV operation. We lack currency or the ability to give away technology, so this is all we have."

Almost if his mind was read, Lady Belldandy comes up and greets Marius after the conference was completed for the day.

"If you wish, we can have your family transported here upon one of our vessels in under a day's timeframe. It would be very little bother to us.

We wish for you to enjoy your time here, since it 'is' a celebration we have going on here."

...okay, 'more' than just read his mind. The Power of Hikari was all around, and the ability to hid thoughts of any kind here was very difficult. But the Gaian Council used this power magnanamously, for situations like this, to proliferate happiness and good feelings.

The idea of spying on a persons thoughts for any gain was sickening to a Gaian unless it was to protect Gaian and allied lives.

Marius starts feeling a little happy untill he looks at his guards and realizes the truth. In a diplomatic response Marius replies,"Lady Belldandy, My family is most likely being held hostage by the Imperial loyality board. The Empire has a rather harsh habit of killing the families of those who show disloyality to the Empire or who um.. feel might try to defect that is why we have the guards around the Deatharon Delegation constantly."

Belldandy responds within character, a hand over her mouth in horror. "My goddess, I did not know."

Belldandy then kinda oversetps her bounds by asking.. "Is there anyway we can help your people 'not' be under that kind of life? I am suprised they sent you here like this." ..she then eyes the guards with a somewhat stern stare and then says in a whisper. "..and there 'are' ways to not have your people not under that kind of life?"

Marius out of ear shot from his guard tells Belldandy a story. The Empire as you may already know was founded by criminals mutants and other unwanted humans that were seen as scum. The people at the time were forced into ten massive prison ships and kept in stasis while the ships went through the endless void of space. Luckily the ships were captured by a mono directional wormhole that sent us directly to the Antares Galaxy. The Largest ship landed in the planet Deatharon Prime while the others landed on other habital planets in different systems. The people eventually after three decades built ships that could travel to other systems and meet each other. The Ruler of Deatharon Prime Akarth Von Antheron saw a chance to make himself ruler of all of the Antares Galaxy by conqureing his nine neighbors. He built a massive space Navy and learned to clone his best soldiers into super soldier know as Marines and unleash them everywhere. Antheron then Invaded the other worlds many cowerd and surrenderd but five brave planets fought agaisnt him. Antheron devasted these worlds with his military and killed the ruling families of each of these worlds. The Emperor is so powerful now many of the people associate him as some kind of god. The Emperor rules with an Iron fist no citizen is beyond his mighty reach. The resistance has tried many a time and is still being hounded and crushed by the Imperial Guard.

The Serene Death's delegation watched the conference break up. "Well I think I'll head back and take a nap for a little bit," remarked Mr. Hanover.

"Yes I think we could all have a rest in our rooms before we do anything more, wouldn't you say so Marshal?" the Dominar said as they all rose from their seats.

"If you wouldn't mind I would like to check on the ship first. I just want to-"

"The ship is fine you worry wart, just rela-," Hanover started to interject.

"It would be fine Marshal," the Dominar said as she made a stern look at Mr. Hanover. "But do get some rest afterwords, we have much more work to do."

And with that the delegates left.

--------------------------------------------

Marshal Kirba made straight for the ship. He arrived to see several of the crew members sitting on some cargo crates outside the main hold. They were so involved with playing their card game, sabacc he though, that they didn't even notice him walking passed them and into the ship. They wouldn't even notice if a sabercat came and started knawing on their arms he thought as has headed towards the command deck.

He walked up towards the comms officer, who turned around as he approached. "Talks over already Marshal?" she said as she saluted the yellow-feathered officer.

"Not yet, we're breaking for now. Any chatter out there?"
"You bet, 'specially from those Zeta peps. Looks like somethin' bad there."
"Nothing about us though?"
"Nope, we're safe for now sir."
"Keep up the good work trooper."

..before the Imperial Guards arrive however, Keiichi and Skuld do so. "What's up Bell?" Keiichi asks his wife when he sees Marius. Bell looks at Keiichi and suddenly he knows something is wrong.

Bell then explains what Marius told her, and both Keiichi and Skuld are appalled by the explanation. Skuld jabs out. "How the name of HECK can such things still exist in space?"

Keiichi grinds in response. "Because some people see only greed." Bell looks glumly in kind, then looks back at Marius. "Is there any way we can help? There 'must' be a way to do so."

Keiichi however responds with a chiding tone. "Bell.. we can't just.."

Bell however responds with a STERN tone, one that is 'not' in her normal character. "We cannot let people suffer like this Keiichi! What else has been Lord Aleaic speaking of, if not to see that people do not suffer. And 'they' are [i]SUFFERING[i]!"

Keiichi for a moment is torn between logic and emotion, but actually both meld together quickly and Keiichi then replies. "You are right my love."

The people of Deatharon have always been under the rule of one tyrant or another in comparrison Akarth Von Antheron I. Is not as bad at least he does not starve the citizens though he does kill traitors and heritics." Marius also recalled his time in the Guard at the age of 18. Marius resaw the horrors of the war of unification in which his homeland Deatharon Prime had brutally took all the other planets by force not caring about the lives of prisoners and the unforgiving conditions he had fought in the name of his Imperial Highness the Emperor! In a moment of anger Marius said the most rebellious thing he had ever said, " I wish the Emperor would suffer the same way we did during his wars and his rulership." Dominar Shiomi moved into the command deck of the SDT Peaceful Rift and saw the captain, Marshal Kirba, and the comms officer standing over the commscan reading reports.

"Marshal, I thought I told you to get some rest" she said as she walked up next to him. She looked over the lines of text rolling up the screen, trying to read the gibberish. "What is this? Wrath? Nova Cats? Empire of Death? What are you looking at?"

The comms officer answered her "These are comms signals leaving the planet, all high level stuff. They're all translated from the other nation's languages, so something may be lost in the translation but I think we have the jist of it. It seems that everyone is gearing up for war." She grabbed a print out and handed it to the Dominar. "This has some statement about the two similar nations, both are mentioned as Zeta, and they are going to war. Also, our hosts are moving military, though we doing know what or how many."

The man in the shadows finally spoke, "So we finally start dealing with others in the universe, and they're all going to war. Do we really want to deal with these people?"

The Dominar turned, started. "We are here to be diplomatic and have a palaver with these people. We are here to learn what we can get from these people and give them. We are here to learn as much about them in any way possible. But we are going to stay here, understand 'gunslinger'?"

The man walked out of the shadows, yet they seemed to stay with him as he walked into the light. His face was still obscured by the brim of his hat as he looked into the Dominar's eyes.

I hope that you have not all killed each other by the next time we meet."

It looked around at the other three Mykonians, who all nodded, and then it twitched its head slightly as a short message pulse was sent up to MBB2-128. MBB2-128 was still hanging around nearby, having not been given anything to do by their hosts as was initially requested. It was quite happy to transport them away in a flash of white light. The large, irregular-shaped vessel turned almost gracefully and pushed forwards slowly, rippling out of view as it disappeared from normal space and headed back to Mykonia.

Marius tells his allies about the Imperial Guard and The Imperial Marines

The Imperial Guard

The Imperial Guard is made up of citizens from ages 15-25 that are called up at certain times to be the main Ground Defense force for the Empire. The standard soldier will be armed with a phaser rifle and three thermal denators the Guard are also given standard chronos armor the cheapest and weakest armor in the Antares Galaxy. The guard is usually supported by hover tanks, Attack walkers and mobile Ghost gun platforms. The main tatics of the Guard is to attack and surpise the enemy in a fight of brutal attrition.

The Imperial Marines

The Imperial Marines are the Elite of the Empire cloned and gentically altered to be super soldiers they tend to be zealous and fanatically in the service of the Emperor. The Marines carry rapid fire pulse rifles and are given electron pistols. The Marines also have energy shields that guard them from energy attack. The Marines are also Stronger faster and some say smater than the average human. The Marines also get Predator tanks and Death walkers. The Elite of the Marines are the Imperial Death Guard Marines this Marines get everything above plus cloaking shields for personal use. The Marines Tatics is to ambush or use hit and run tatics.

Marius finishes telling his allies of Deatharon's Military and tatics.

The Strategic and Tactical Advisors were sopping this up like bread on a plate with gravy on it.

Yurika though had the mind to ask two questions.

"Can you tell us the relative frequency of the shield arrays used by your forces, and include the energy signature pattern of your heavy planet based and system defense weapon platforms?"

..and..

"...how well are your troops accustomed to psychological tactics? And I mean 'very' psychological."

"I can't say the military high command does not let common soldiers know that and that is all I was as for psychological tactics The Imperial Guard are common citizens drilled in shooting and assualt tatics with some mean men shooting anyone who does not perform his or her duty. The Marines are loyal fantical and believe the Emperor like he is god himself thus they are more resistant to those kind of tatics." said Marius in a casual way.

"..depends on what 'tactics' are used." Yurika quips, writing a few 'ideas' down on her comp-Padd unit.

Washu though then mentions. "They 'did' have their Marines on the surface of our planet. That means they were scanned, like everyone else forieign to our world is.

...I bet we can figure out what we need."

Ifurita adds.. "I also bet their have been too used to a certain type of warfare for too long. Another point we can use."

"Stagnation can hurt.." Aleaic agrees with.

Marius adds, "The Marines are arrogant and think they are the chosen of the Emperor and thus the best warriors in the Antares Galaxy. They have never been defeated. A defeat would hurt there morale and curb their feeling of being unstopable."

OOC

keep in mind Marius has not served in the actually Guard in 8 years and does not know that the mutants have been accepted as citizens and thus in military positions. Marius has not even been in Deatharon territory for a 5 years due to his mission as a Ambassador and delegate, He is feeding old information on when he was in the Guard and inside the Empire.

Aleaic comments. The Clans are arrogant as well, the Crusader ones that is. The Jaguars were even worse that this, and look what happened to them. Destroyed utterly.

Technology can also do that, so let's make sure our troops are mindful of this."

Yurika and Ifurita nods. "Noted." The former quips. Aleaic then adds. "..and remember, we're going in 'not' to kill anyone. I want our forces to use all means to accomplish this effect.

..no martyrs, and 'no' families to tell why we killed someone's son or daughter. No... I want them all to see the world we intend to deliver for them.

..and for once let's deliver on that. I don't say things like this lightly ya know."

The others shake their heads. "Perfect on paper..."

"...but in practice." Azusa finishes for Tsutsumi. Aleaic then nods and adds his own. "Well, let's make a white paper that reality itself will be proud of."

Marius feels he better warn his friends, "Remeber the Empire is not that forgiving they would kill you and your families without hesitaion and what ever you do don't let them take you prisoner. The Guard tends to shoot P.O.Ws that are to weak to dig trenches or build bunkers. At least they don't use the Mutants boy are they brutal. The Mutants had to live underground and were never citizens and thus never in Imperial society."

Marius mentions one other group, "The Brotherhood of freedom is the only group like that but they are nearly wiped out due to constanely being harassed by the Guard and Marines. The Brotherhood is mostly called the resistance by average citizens. They are mostly based in subject worlds meaning the Brakka systems."

Aleaic simply remarks back. "Well, they're going to have a 'lot' more support soon.

...a lot more."

Aleaic then turns to the rest of the Council. "I want the Conference to still occur, no matter what happens. I still intend to carry on it's intent, even if the nature of peace has changed in this realm.

..there's still a message from all this to deliver. Let's ensure it's heard."

Marius looks at Aleaic and saids, "sir I personally do not think that is a good idea the Brotherhood of Freedom would drag the Empire into anarchy and destruction." One of the Delegates adds,"We should know we did fight them for most of our youth."

24-04-2005, 05:57
"Then I ask you good sir. Do 'you' think it is a good idea for us to invade your realm? It sounds like we'll be ending up with the interstellar version of Iraq here." Aleaic says with a good huff.

Marius replies, The Brotherhood would destroy the Empire and turn us into a feudal society of peasants and nobles. I believe the Empire should stand but with some restrictions on the Emperor's power."

Albedo had been reading the minds of Marius and the others and tells sensui what is going on.

Sensui says " Ready my Mobile Suit i am going into battle with the gaians to test out the new suit."

Albedo nods " I will go with you"

Meanwhile Aura and Jessica tried to keep their minds on the trade talks but it was half hearted knowing that their home was at war.

"Open... it'll give them a place to eventually sue for peace.

And..." Al adds a sudden shocker..

"...that will probably be after I have confronted this Emperor personally."

Tsui hears this and stabs back. "LOVE!? What do you.."

"..exactly what it means. I will be leading the invasion from the head of Alpha Galaxy. In this way, the universe will know how far the ideals of the Ascendancy will go.

..and that hammer blow goes all the way to the head."

Marius saids, "I will open a communication channel to the Empire to let them know that they can still send a new represenative to the Conference." One of the Delegates walk out and comes back 5 mins later. "The Emperor's brother Grand Duke Mavis Von Antheron will come to the meeting." saids the Delegate, "He saids he will represent the true Deatharon Empire."

Aleaic replies back to this with. "We'll establish what the 'true' nation will comprise."

Aleaic then ends the meeting with.. "Let us not forget the sins we are about to commit, in the name of the name of liberation.

We will be sinned, until we prove otherwise by action, what we mean in words."

At that, he nods to the delegates, and then departs the meeting area. The Council disperses as well, though Peorth, Keiichi and Bell remain behind for the moment.

Meanwhile, the sounds of Startica 'still' revel, unknowing of the decisions being made behest of most ears.

...nor is it time to hold back celebration. There will be enough to scorn over in the coming days unto years.
