In order to help expand the Imperial armies and protect against foreign aggressors the emperor has ordered the building of 1.2 million war droids. These droid armies are meant to supplement the current armies and to expand their current manpower without incorporating more men to join the military. These new droids will also be able to stay in the army longer than any human troops could possibly ever could. They will also be used in the most dangerous parts of the battle in order to preserve the lives of the human soldiers.
