Parliament convenes, Colonel Jeff Franklin officially resigns...

Sel Appa
01-04-2005, 03:35
Sel Appa's first elected Parliament convened today with only eight Representatives not attending. They began to appoint six of the eleven justices to the Supreme Court. Chancellor-elect Dinh will appoint the other five starting tommorrow. Most representatives have agreed that they will try to balance their picks. They may not pick Communists because CE Dinh is expected to do so.

Colonel Jefferson Franklin, who has been Sel Appa's leader for the past few weeks, issued his resignation in public today:

"I believe I have fulfilled my duty as Sel Appa's leader. I changed it from a harsh and cruel dictatorship to the Democratic Republic it is becoming. I want to thank all of the Sel Appan's who complied with the compulsory elections. You made sure everthing was done fair and correct. I also want to thank those who only had a half-vote. Although you were supposed to have a full vote, you still went out and voted.

I hereby resign from my position as Sel Appa's leader. May the Wind continue to blow as soundly as it does now." Loud cheers fill the converted arena. People wave flags and shout "Colonel Jeff! Colonel Jeff!" After a few minutes, he reasserted that he will search out the "dictator" who came before him and make sure he gets the fitting punishment.
