Increased manpower in the Armed Forces announced

COTLANDSTAD (CFP): In a speech earlier today, the government have announced that they will double the military manpower from today's 8 million soldiers to 16 million starting next week. The reason given from the Government are that there are signs indicating "that massive hostilities will occur" near Cotland soon, and that the increased forces are needed to "maintain sovereignty in our territorial areas".

New reforms in the military have been also announced, including increased funding for exercises, weapons training and increased basic training.

It is also announced that the time at basic training will be increased from the current 16 weeks to 20 weeks of basic training. The basic training will now include more in-depth infantry tactics, weapons training, military conduct and higher ability to accept orders. The spokesman stressed the point that the draft will not be re-introduced. The current military consists exclusivly of carefully screened volunteers in a profoessional military, which it has been ever since the draft was abolished in 1983.

Soldiers will recieve additional tax-cuts, now only having to pay 40 % of the normal taxes. The soldiers are also granted higher wages. In addition, and to make volunteering more attractive, everyone who volunteers for a three-year tour of duty within the next two months are granted a bonus of 500 Coins (547,25 USD). All who volunteer for six years are granted 1000 Coins (1094,5 USD) and all who volunteer for nine years within the next two months are granted a 2000 Coin bonus (2189 USD). It is the hope of the Government that this will attract the 9 million volunteers needed to the military.

At 2 AM when this article went to the printers, there had already been more then 30 000 applications reported to the Ministry of Defense.

Imperial Cottish Navy

The Imperial Cottish Navy are announcing that they are in the process of completely refurbishing the fleet, effectivly retiring most of the ships in the current navy.

It has been decided that the Imperial Cottish Navy shall sport 12 Cruiser Squadrons, 34 Destroyer Squadrons, 20 Frigate Squadrons and 6 Submarine Squadrons, in addition to the 38 Carrier Strike Groups, 4 Battleship Strike Groups and 6 Amphibious Assault Forces in the immediate future. Of these, 4 Cruiser Squadrons, 12 Destroyer Squadrons, 7 Frigate Squadrons and 8 Carrier Strike Forces shall be in the Ready Reserve Force (ready for action within 4 days). The ships have already been selected and purchased, in addition to aerial elements needed.

In the inactive reserve, we find 14 conventionally driven aircraft carriers, 10 battleships, 23 cruisers, 138 destroyers, 121 frigates, 56 corvettes and 42 nuclear submarines, in addition to hundreds of landing craft and logistical vessels needed for the maintenance and operation of the naval forces.

The increasment of the fleet are a direct result of the increasement in manpower with the Imperial Cottish Armed Forces, and will prove to be a massive resource for the Cottish military capabilities.

About 12,5 million of those are logistics. The rest (3,5 million) are combat troops.

Official Public Announcement

Cotland and Greece have never been on the best of terms since the dispute of territorial water claims in the Mediterranean Sea. We will monitor this situation. The Hellenic Navy will start patrolling more the Aegean Sea and make sure no Cottish ship enters uninvited.

Hm.... how is that possible?

Secret ingridient is the bullets with AP steel core. 100% of penetration of 30 layers of kevlar at 100 meters, i used to have one of this back in the army, never once had to fire it though.
