It was an error.

I have a High King, who rules minor lords. While the Lords fight amongst themselves, with the theroy they are to busy fighting eachother to go against the king!

I'm a tyrant. Now before you get to saying that "Tyrants are Evil!", I'm a tyrant in Greek terminology. I don't rule for myself, I rule for the benefit of the people.
Malkyer

Yeah, a tyrant is just someone who came to power through force of arms.

I'm a constitutional monarchy, myself.
Kendari

Constitutional monarchy, I suppose. Kendari is a kingdom with "Good" political freedoms; the legislature is elected.
Socialist Prussians

I am a socialist country, but without democracy. i guess you could call it an authoritarian socialist country. we have a Premier, who prefers to be referred to as the Kaiser due to his ancestry (he's 100% German)

OOC: yay, 100th post

I voted for absolute Monarchy, although that kind of demeans and belittles the amount of political representation the commons have. But it isn't a constitutional monarchy, at any rate, because my Monarchy has the power. It's a kind of medieval-style Monarchy, just out of feudalism.
San Dismas
31-03-2005, 00:32
San Dismas and everything in it is owned in fee simple by our beloved El Supremo. How El Supremo got to be El Supremo is a non-question. Anybody who questions becomes a non. When we say "everything", we mean everything, land, houses, animals, men, women, children, birds, bees, right down to the maggots in the dungons of the Ministry of Love.
Any questions?
Hugs and Kisses,
El Supremo (is there something bigger than a megaloegomaniac?)

Centrist Capitalist Democracy.
The Transylvania
31-03-2005, 00:39
The Dominion of the Transylvania has an Oligarchy type government. The Council of Twelve is in control and has the power to do anything they want. That is after they vote on it.

President elected for up to two 6 year terms......and the mega-corporations that basically control all governmental decisions
Red Tide2
31-03-2005, 01:02
(Very, Very, Very)Corrupt Corporate Dictatorship... The saying in Red Tide:'In Red Tide, the Goverment holds 70% of the power and 20% of the wealth, the corporations hold 25% of the power and 75% of the wealth, while the remaining five percent for both goes to the Red Tide Mafia(more commonly refferred to as the Heart of Armaggeddon(HOA)).'

All industries are privitized with the exception of the media and Weapons of Mass Destruction buisness, but there are 'pirate' radio stations set up by the corporations(the Goverment lets these broadcast), and the HOA have built underground chemical and biological weapons plants which not even the goverment knew about.

Brutal, iron fisted fascist government.
Aztec National League

Democratic, secularist socialist government. 90% of the industries are owned by the government, 7% are subsidzed by the government and 3% are actually privatized, but tightly regulated. However, we are civil libertarians.

Ancient Roman style Republic baby! wOOt!
Krioval
31-03-2005, 01:48
I marked "Democratic capitalist" but the government is effectively controlled by the Commander of Krioval, whose power can only be overridden by a supermajority of Parliament or by the courts. He also controls about 1-4% of the GDP and can exert considerable short-term influence over the national market.
The Parthians

Parthia is an absolute monarchy.
Macisikan
31-03-2005, 02:29
Technically I'd say it's a Constitutional Monarchy; I have a very complicated parliamentary system, a very blurred line between the Church and the state and a document that no-one's quite sure if it's a consitution or a bad translation of a 17th Century Swahili version of King Lear (OK, that last one was a very bad joke). There's also far more government involvement in the economy then most people realise.

The problem (for your average citizen) is this; It's a well-known fact in Macisikan that the King-Emperor sits at the top of the pyramid, the First Minister and her cabinet just underneath him (or her; we're not picky), and then the Parliament. What comes next is a complete mystery to anyone not doing politics at university; we think the Civil Service is in there somewhere, there's something about provinces and local government, and we know that the Reps are democratically elected by the people, but how the whole thing works, no ordinary person knows.

The saying goes "The Imperial Government? Oh it works. No idea how, but it does. Try not to draw attention to it, in case it stops."
