Gran Cienaga

Centuries of despotism have taught us that the best system of government is republican, and so we have modeled our nation after this evident fact. Nevertheless, we cannot force a republic upon a people who neither desire nor are ready for such a system. While our moral support is with those fighting for liberty in all nations, we will not offer any assistance, military or economic, in the struggle against dictatorships and tyranny.
Furthermore, the sole concern of the leaders of this nation is for the well-being of the people residing within our borders. In the past, we have only dealt with republics or commonwealths, yet we now realize that this has damaged our nation from both an economic and social standpoint. Given this fact, the Commonwealth of Gran Cienaga will open trade with any nation, be it monarchic, communist, socialist or otherwise. While we may not support these systems of government, the prosperity of our people surpasses ideological concerns.
Moreover, in accord with the ideals of benevolent antimilitarism and vigilant
isolationism, this nation will not deploy troops for any reason except in cases of immediate threats.
