Random Kingdom has passed the one-billion mark (OOC: current population is 1.004bn but yesterday it was 998m). The cameras homed in on the birth of a baby girl, Anita Elizabeth Smith, in a hospital in Arnia Falls, a town in southeastern RK. She is the one billionth person to become a true citizen of Random Kingdom.

Fireworks exploded in New Hope and wine was poured into rivers the nation over as the entire nation celebrated what was to become a national holiday. Also in news, the new main Random Kingdom television service, Teleworld, was launched with three channels available on free digital television and other digital services, TW1, TW2 and TWNews. The first program to broadcast on TW1 was a history of Random Kingdom, on TW2 it was a RK music expo, and on TWNews the birth itself was witnessed.

In other news, the RK government gained a true face as father of Anita, Simon Smith, was elected by the masses as honorary President of Random Kingdom. He will represent the people's decisions and will relay them to other nations, but the people will still have all of the power to change Random Kingdom.

oh, Please, :rolleyes: Don't godmod! how many countries in the real world have Population growth of several million per day! This is just godmodding. If you can RP with 1,000,000,000+ people, and an increase of several million per day, why not jsut say that some country somewhere is invaded by 1,000,000,000 troops, and a guy with a stick stoped them? Your billion pops, and 10,000,000 more a day thing is just as godmoddy as a nation starting a nuclear programme, then nuking the world to destruction the next day!

OOC: I've godmoded before in my n00b period (see the awful RK v. USN war) and to be honest, I'm not going to go back down that path again. (I remember when I started on the forums. Blegh! Elite militia and crap! Ray of Hope! Earth, Fire and Air! Agh!) I said 1 billion citizens, not troops. In fact, RK's army is mostly voluntary (think militia) and relatively small.
