The dark spectre of war hung over France and the Ottomans. Tensions over inflammatory comments and possible courses of action aggravated what was already a bad sore. Attempted assassination of an Ottoman leader in the Imperial Union, as well as the coming of a new, more authoritative Emperor, did not help matters.
But there was one last chance.
Marian Levitte slowly entered. His eyes were slightly blackened from the long night without sleep, and he carried with him a clumbsy briegcase. He had not enjoyed the last few nights, but perhaps this could give him some peace. He made his way throug hthe building into the conference room, where he would represent the Imperial Union to the Grand Vizier.
Marian entered into the conference room and look to the Grand Vizier respectfully and nodded his head and waited to be acknowledged.
Grand Vizier Mehmed Pasa Sokollu, second in command of the Ottoman Empire. He was not happy with the thought of another cold war with another nation. The Ottoman People were tired of war and wanted peace. Yet they were still willing to fight for the protection of the state.
"Should we began this meeting now..or do you wish to get your thoughts in order first?" ask the Grand Vizier
"I am fine, Grand Vizier, I just need your acknowledgement."
"Well, enovy of NE...lets us began this meeting in the hopes of peace."
He nodded and sat, placing his briefcase on the table. "I am here to hear the lamentation of the Ottoman government. I must know what troubles you about the government of the Union."
"What troubles us about the new government of your union...mainly the rumors that are going around that you government is planing to attack Ottoman Al-Andalus, this rumor is making my government very very uneasy.Frankly we don't give a damn what your nation does inside its lands,but to attack or start rebellion in our lands..we do give a damn about it."
"Iberian interests are a minor element of the government. A sizable population of the Nationalist Party comes from Catalanese exiles in Andorra and Southwest France on the border with Al-Andalus. These are just rumors, we do not plan to attack Iberia."
