Yesterday's election was successful. All eligible people voted, except for a few who were promptly fined. Even those 16 to 18 got in their half-vote in. Votes for chancellor have been tallied up and approved by the election commission. Here are the results:

Sel Appa's first Chancellor is: Communist Ngu Phuok Dinh!

Tallies:
Ngu Phuok Dinh-30.2%
Juvanya dar Krisip-15.9%
Vladmir Ilyidge Leno-15.8%
John Hammond-12.2%
Alan Grant-11.8%
Kelly Spelzburg-9.1%
Hilary Kerry-4.5%
Nifty Dent-0.4%
Jack Michaelson-0.1%

One of the election provisions kicks out any party earning less than five percentage points for the next election. Therefore, The Moderate Party, the Motha Trucka Party, and the Little Boy Party are unable to put up a new candidate.

Another provision forces any party other than the top three to get a petition of 500,000 people or more before their party can run again in Chancellory elections.

In terms of Parliament, here are the seats earned by each party (of 350):

Communist-117(33.3%)
Liberal-68(19.4%)
Socialist-63(17.9%)
Nationalist-42(12.0%)
Conservative-38(10.8%)
Green-18(5.1%)
Moderate-5(1.4%)

No party has the 176 seats that could allow almost anything that party wants to pass.

Chancellor-Elect Dinh has stated he has huge plans for revamping the justice system, the welfare system, the taxing system, and the economy. He has stated that he won't excessively favor the workers. Although, he can get support from the Socialists for some reforms which adds up to 180 seats. Dinh will take up the position on Friday, as will Parliament.
