The Colonial Small Arms Factory has unveiled the latest rifle in their Big Game Hunting line: The Martini-Henry Repeating Rifle!

It looks almost identical to a standard Martini Henry Mk III, but has an underbarrel tube magazine containing 8 rounds.

The internal workings have been slightly modified to accommodate the Repeating action, and modernised, which has led to increased reliability and accuracy.

The Martini-Henry Repeating Rifle is available chambered for 577/450 Martini-Henry, .303 British, and .50 Strathdonian. Other calibres can be accomodated upon request.

The MHRR has been accepted into Roycelandian Military service as the "Martini Henry Mk V", or MHRR (Martini Henry Repeating Rifle), and will be issued to Colonial Guard units in quieter parts of The Sudan and Kenya.

The MHRR holds 8 shots and has a maximum range of 1500 yards, and is guaranteed to put a sizeable hole in anything you might care to fire it at...

3 chambered for .303, .50, and if possible a modern 7.62 caseless. with bayonettes.

Skittletopian Armoury's attempts at repeating rifles have been pretty abysmal failures, as it seems we've lost the knack for making basic shooters, the point and click interface if you will.

What kind of optics are we looking at here?

CSA has provided the three rifles free of charge to the Skittletopians, along with bayonets.

As for optics: Martini-Henrys aren't scoped. Roycelandian Troops are trained in accurate, iron-sighted shooting at up to 1000 yards, and since the average modern Assault Rifle range is about 300 yards, we've never really bothered with scopes.

It is possible to scope them (say, with a 6x40 scope), but quite why you'd bother is beyond your average Roycelandian...

Nice :)

The local arms concerns fianlly have some semi auto competition in the SIRC (Strathdonian Insane Round Classification)

Now to pic edit a MAS 49 and an M14 for Strathdonia.

Roycelandians have never really been keen on Semi-Auto rifles, for some reason.

Certainly, we make them (see the Self-Loading Lee-Enfield), but for serious Sporting Use, Bolt and Falling Block action rifles are the most popular, with Lever and Pump actions a close second.

Incidentally, debate rages in the pages of reputable shooting magazines over which round is more effective for Hunting in Africa: The Roycelandian 577/450 Nitro Express, or the .50 Strathdonian (AKA the .50 Insane Strathdonian Centrefire, or ISC).

Blair Scott, the famous Roycelandian Great White Hunter, once reputedly dropped an African Elephant at 1000 yards with a Martini-Henry in 577/450 Nitro Express, but observers present at the time regarded it as a "Lucky Shot". However, Cape Buffalo and other sizeable animals have been bought down at similar ranges by the 577/450 NE round, and on at least two occaisons a charging Rhinoceros has been stopped by the same round at 400 yards...
