On star date 88301.8 , the USS odyssey was en route from a station having just been refitted.

--
the captain of the ship fleet captain Johnston Powel ,was sitting back in his comfortable leather like chair in a moderately lighted bridge , galaxy class star ship scamatics on some panels close to him , his crew was working quietly but hastily all around him . he sighed a bit looking at some reports , the helms officer was taping on his flashing beeping console when he detected a near by star system, they were about 21 ly away from earth .. , he looked back at Powel and said briskly ,

“sir were detecting a dim star system , it’s a red dwarf not very powerful but it will cause some interference with our navigation in this part of space . how ever if we go threw it .. we might be able to compensate ..” . the captain peaked an eyebrow while grabbing an arm of his chair thinking slightly then he said “make it so // besides I want to get a peak in there …” , the helms officer nodded and looked back to his console swiveling his chair , then he started taping and beeping on his flashing console. Setting the correct course .

the large sleek galaxy class ship about 642 m long started rumbling towards the system , several moments later jumping to warp in a flash of pure light and bluish particles . as the ship moved along in warp gleaming light and stars whooshed by it , 20 minutes later the ship had arrived at its destination:

The helms officer looked over to Powel and said with a some what clam voice “we have reached are destination sir shall I bring us out of warp?” the captain sitting up from his slouched position on his chair said” make it so!”. The helms officer swiveled back and taped a button or 2 dropping the ship out of warp in a system known as LHS 3003. the ship slowly rumbled in towards the inner planets un knowing what to expect

A siren wailed. Bob Maklar muttered, bringing up a screen of his supervision sector.

"Hey, you! In the saucerhead! I need that lane clear in fifteen minutes, what are you doing there?" He fired off the tightbeam without checking past his list of ships that ought to be in his sector and seeing that this large unfamiliar ship that had just dropped onto his screen didn't match them.

The system had no inner planets. Not that could be discerned, or that were left. Three giant glimmering cuffs - like long slightly bulbous bracelets - spun in place around the dim red star, mostly occluding it. Several iridescent rings hung above and below each bracelet, feverish activity running around them.
