Hammers Slammers

March 22, 2010, somewher under a cornfield in western europe
(in the background you can hear Jonny Cash's "The Man Comes Round" playing)
Base Commander: All right, what is the situation?
Med-Tech: Unknown sir. We've never seen any thing like it before. It has a 100 percent mortality rate and it seems to be spread through direct fluid contact, resulting in reanimation approximately 1 to 5 minutes later.
Base Commander: Reanimation? What do you mean Reanimation!
Med-Tech: After about 5 minutes all fatalities come back to a state of un-life. They're not alive sir, but they're not dead either.
Base Commander: What do we do about it?
Med-Tech: The first one that reanimated did so on the autopsy slab and attacked the doctors in the Med-Lab. It did not stop until the guards shot it so full of holes it couldn't move. Afterwards, the head and torso, minus the limbs, were put back on the slab to continue the autopsy. We found that removing the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and the whole GI tract had no affect on the creature. It was not until we opened up it's skull that it finally stopped moving. We theorize that this, disease for lack of a better term, somehow infects and then after death re-animates dead tissue. We're not sure how or why but it seems that the head is the only weakpoint these things have.
Base Commander: I see. Get me the commanders of every company on base in my office in the next 5 minutes. We have planning to do.
Commanders Aide: Sir, yes sir. (runs to fetch company commanders)
A few similar bases around the world recieve the notice that an undead plague is about to sweep over them... for most it is already too late.
