The Dark Clouds of War (Earth 2)

Yelm

In a dark and damp cave deep in the frozen continent of Antarctica sat a man of great stature in Yelmish society. The man stood at six feet five inches and sat on a throne nearly nine feet tall. The throne itself was encrusted with jewels, gold and diamonds from land far away. This was the throne of King Erik Von Yelm XI, the greatest Yelmish king in the modern ear (1900-Present). In front of the throne stood five Berserker Special Forces units, also known as Untouchables by the commoners. These soldiers were of the highest quality, the best in the Yelmish military. Only 24 were in active service, and they served as the Black Operation Soldiers and Royal Guards of the Military. On special occasions they were also known to be effective assassins and efficient secret police. As the King sat and listened to a lesser Chieftain speak about the economic improvement of Ecuador a thought went into his mind. For ten minutes the King paid no attention to the Chieftain as he rambled about iron ore, and steel. When the Chieftain finished he waited for a response from the King. After waiting for several minutes the Chieftain spoke, ”Your highness are you ok? The King who was in deep thought shook his head. He didn’t hear a majority of what the Chieftain said. ”Yes, excellent news Chieftain. Come back in two weeks to report back.” The Chieftain bowed and walked out of the Grand Royal Chamber. After some researching and brainstorming the King summoned the Council of Three.

The Council included himself, his son Prince and Higher Warlord Salavas Yelm IV, and Higher Warlord Viktor Jaroslav. The two Warlords met the King at the High Meeting Chamber each had looks of concern. The King motioned the two to sit down. Prince Salavas spoke first to his father, ”Why have you summoned the council father? Is something wrong?” The King turned to his son who was wearing his military uniform, ”No my son, in fact I have great news. We all know that maintaining our large military has strained our fragile economy. A downsizing of the army was being planned by several of my advisers. But now I realize that that won’t be necessary.” The King saw that both of the Warlord’s became deeply interested in what he had to say. From under the table he pulled out a map. A grin appeared on his face, ”This gentlemen is Africa a continent home to many rare and exotic animals. But there is also something very valuable in this continent. Gold and diamonds are one of the most profitable trading items in Africa. With a military takeover of Kenya and Tanzania we would set ourselves up to be a very rich nation.”

The King looked at both Warlord’s and waited for one of them to speak. Warlord Jaroslav was the first to speak about the issue, ”Your Highness, isn’t Kenya and Tanzania already claimed? The King nodded, ”The nation that controls Kenya and Tanzania recently acquired the territories. They do not have a firm military presence there I believe. If we strike fast we can catch them off guard. What can we send?” Warlord Jaroslav took out a folder and read it. After reading it he looked up towards the King, ”To start we can send a Naval Fleet, numbering roughly 353 vessels. Another fleet of five hundred can be mobilized soon afterward. I believe it would be best if the second fleet would carry ten Marine Divisions for a total of 155,000. Para Divisions should be on high alert, and another fleet of two hundred ships with ten marine divisions should be mobilized. The third mobilization will take quite some time but it would be manageable.” The king nodded to Warlord Salavas. Warlord Yelm spoke next, ”I believe Warlord Darron should lead this ambitious attack. The Warlord performed very well in the defense of British Colombia.” The King nodded. The King asked if anyone wished to add anything. No one spoke up.”Very well, then I believe this meeting is finished” The three got up and left the Meeting Chamber.

At Grimm Harbour the fleet was mobilizing. One General and one Multi-Role combat fleets joined together to form the 4th Naval Expedition Combat Fleet. The first fleet was only carrying two marine divisions; they were not planned on seeing combat until the next fleet arrived. Warlord Darron stood on deck of his Vanguard capital ship. He watched as the marines and sailors boarded, saying good by to their families as they did so. The soldiers were used to war however. The a thousand years war only ended seven years ago and veteran soldiers all around the land were eager for war. It was his intention to lead them into victory. In only seven hours of non-stop work the fleet was ready. The ships lifted their anchor and left harbour. On the shore of the frozen continent thousands watched on as the fleet slowly began to disappear from sight. Warlord Darron watched as his homeland disappeared from sight. Chieftain Samuel Lorion approached his Warlord, ”The men are ready Warlord. They are eager for combat.” The Warlord watched the waves of the sea splash against his ship. Without turning he responded, ”Yes, I hope you are right Chieftain Samuel. Have intelligence run standard satellite protocols. I need to see what I’ll be up against.” The Chieftain nodded and ran off to complete his tasks.

In space ten satellites maneuvered themselves over Kenya and Tanzania. They took hundreds of thousands of high-resolution shots of the land and of the territorial waters. The photos were gathered and analyzed by over two hundred intelligence personnel. Important images were relayed to the fleet under heavy encryption.

OOC: By tomorrow the fleet will arrive outside the territorial waters of Kenya. The next day the 2nd fleet will arrive, and the day after that the 3rd fleet will arrive if all goes well.

"Jesus Christ, we ceded the territories three days ago and they're already moving in here." General Michael Daly said, staring out the window of the Governor's mansion at the burning city of Nairobi. The mansion was a new addition to the metropolis, constructed by the Hibernians after they had established control of the region. He'd been there ten years when Cork announched they'd be giving up control of all mainland African possessions. It was quite a blow to him. He'd established quite a life here. His wife was a native of Kenya and his progeny had spent their entire lives in the mansion the Hibernians built. He could understand why they'd want to give up major possessions around the world now that they'd established South American dominance, but that didn't make it hurt any less. Now he watched as the city he'd worked so hard to build into the rival of the Londons and the Romes of the world burned and its streets were soaked with the blood of his former citizens.

There was a knock on the door. "Mr. Governor, the convoys ready." his aide squeaked. He was new on the job and his anxiety was understandable, considering. Michael waved his comprehension of his statement as he gathered his things. They couldn't have gotten me a damn helicopter. He thought to himself, knowing full well that he couldn't fly until well outside of the city limits because of the anti-aircraft fire. He turned around again and stared out at the city. Suddenly, an idea was born. He was in full control of all forces stationed within Hibernian East Africa. They withdrew because of his orders. He could easily repel the invaders and declare an East African Republic, independent of The Commonwealth. He sat at his desk and picked up his telephone, rapidly dialing a number into it. "Colonel, there are new orders. Any foreign forces on Hibernian soil are to be engaged and driven back."

He placed similar calls all throughout his territory. Within an hour he had an army operating entirely under his control with no interference from Cork. It seemed his dream could very well be realized.

OOC: Don't worry, I have every intention of losing. I'm just making it interesting for you guys.

General Marcellus received an odd order: "Your occupation forces are to form a defensive position. Begin the fortification immediatly. Reinforcements will arive shortly
Grand Master Varus"

He knew it was not his place to doubt the grand master, but he wondered. He had heard of the coming war, but the enemy was far, far away, and he thought the Grand Master could trust him to handle it himself, but the Templars were a military organization, and as such they took many precautions. So be it, he decided. Just follow orders, like a simple old soldier

OOC: I dont want to seem like im godmoddin, but:
There is no way your ships can get their that fast. Period. Its over 2,000 miles, closer to 3,000. It would take fast, empty ships at least like 2 weeks, not a day. Carrying troops also slow them down, and their would be at some weakness to the troops. And I have territories directly north and south of of Kenya and Tanzania, so i could get their in 24 hours. I would probably beat you even if you did come in a day( if you had space ships). Also, the constant trash-talk between us earlier kind of eliminates the whole suprise possibility. we knew of a conflict.
Sorry if i seem like an ass. Im just trying to be reasonable

OOC: Sorry, more rants. 80 ttransports may be able to carry over 80,000 troops, but not, definitely not those vehicles to. Not to mention the 10000( by my calculations) needed to man those vehicles. Not to mention any logistics or support. so your army has no food or supplies. They would die in the two week journey alone. And I wonder how a frozen wastland, tiny jungle and medium forest could possibly export or trade enough to support an army bigger and better than Englands. This would have to be your ENTIRE army, and it is unlikely it would all be in antartica. it could be, and you could have that army. thats not up to me. but with the simple numbers you stated yourself, you cannot make this trip. I hope you have the dignity to edit your original post around this. Also, you listed no planes. No aircraft at all, and I stated in the Operation Bahraini freedom thread my whole navy was in the persain gulf, and my air force is based in Qatar. Is this invasion of yours really, like, have to happen?

All RPs that I have seen use NS time not RL time. I'm just stating out of character that it's going to take them one real life day to arrive. In reality a full month could of passed by in NS time. Some people even use one RL day as 1 NS year. If you want to use RL time then this thread would never end.

The "trash talk" was out of character, since the Earth II thread is an out of character thread. Therefore you couldn't possibly have any knowledge of the destination of my fleet. Also your commanders should have no knowledge of my attack, my ships could be heading anywhere. But I don't really care about that issue.

You are right that I forgot to post the transport squadron of my fleets. I will update the list once I finish this post. But if are concerned over my transport abilities one of my Transport Squadrons can transport 21,400 soldiers with 66 ships total and that includes assigned destroyers, frigates, cruisers, etc. Antartica is actually a large wasteland of frozen ice and snow. There's no jungle or forest on the continent. I do however have control over Ecuador and British Colombia which can bring in revenue. I use the NSE calculator to determine the size of any nations economy though. I didn't include logistics to combat personnel but I will do so after my post if you wish. The "Frightening" Economy in nationstates is unlike any RL economy. Therefore I can technically be able to field a large army, navy and airforce. If you really want to know I have a standing army of over 6 million. If you want I could sent a squadron of stealth bombers to your Persian Gulf Fleet and sink half of your ships. I want an old-fashion naval battle anyway. Also if you want to know my aircraft on the carriers I'll update my Order of Battle post.

If you have anymore discussions please feel free to notify me. I make mistakes as well. But if you disagree further with any of the addressed issues then you can contact Layarteb and he can decide.

Also I've lowered the divisions sent in the second and third wave.

OOC: The faction I'll be rping as in this thread will not be called The Commonwealth of Greater Eire. This is a splinter group called The East African Republic who are in no way affiliated with the central government in any way.

IC: It's surprising how quickly fire can spread. In the right conditions it can engulf entire forests in minutes, using the wind to jump from tree to tree and devouring the fuel on the earthen floor. It is also surprising how quickly information can spread. Michael Daly had all communications into and out of The East African Republic cut and the forces stationed there were quickly put on the highest alert. Tanks patrolled the streets and helicopters hovered in the skies. Unfortunately, the satellites were under Commonwealth control. This put him at a disadvantage. But, it was no matter. He had the support of the people. The people whose country he had pulled up from the gutter and presented as a gem of one of the world's foremost superpowers. They did not take being cast aside likely and flocked to the side of their leader. He did not abandon them and they would not abandon him.

OOC: Knights, where are you attacking from? I took some liberties in my first post and had you shelling Nairobi. If you could give me a general idea of where you are and/or where you're coming from it would be much appreciated, thanks.

OOC: Yelm- Like I said, I go on rants, but no harm no foul. You answered most of my question. Seeing how I have something of an established presence in the area, I would like to think I could detect your fleet, of only very little in advance. But besides that (the whole time/transport thing) i can see were both trying to be fair, so its all cool.

OOC:GnOoLoCoPeLep- I had a plan for the invasion of Kenya. My troops would mainly come north from Arusha in Tanzania to Nairobi, so the whole shelling thing is okay i guess. I also planned to have a amphibious assault Mombasa, and I would parachute/ speed troops (from Dijbouti) into the vincinity of Lake Turkana (just special forces here) I didnt post this in context becuase, with this and you're earlier post your resistance is only in Kenya, and so it's cedeing Tanzania to me. Is that correct? Or should I formulate a different plan?
All- Im in class, so i cant get into my whole troops(roster) yet (hafta wait till out) sorry for the delay. hope to get to it soon.

Warlord Darron looked up towards the clear blue sky. They were almost in position. From what the Warlord had read Kenya, their first target, was geographically somewhat similar to Ecuador, which was excellent news. He was one of the commanding Warlord's during that operation, and the two divisons onboard his fleet were veterans of that same war. But they weren't facing some ill-equipped peasant army. No, this was a real army with modern tanks and artillery. To be honest he was somewhat worried of how he was going to land his Expeditionary Unit. Landing 42,000 soldiers on foreign soil would not be an easy task. Before his landing however, he had to heavily bombard military targets on the Kenyan land. Some non-Templar military forces were picked up by satellite pictures, this worried him somewhat, the warlord always liked to know who he was fighting. He checked his watch and walked over to the communications sector of the command center. He stood behind a communications operator and said, "Ask the government of Teh Ninjas to be granted a naval base in Madagascar. We have to establish a resupply station. Also notify the king that we are nearly in position." The operator nodded and went to work. Though they were still in international waters the enemy forces must of had no doubt that they were coming.

Encrpyted Transmission 5-3-6-8-2
To:Teh Ninjas Military Command; Madagascar
From:Warlord Darron, Commander of 4th Naval Expedition Fleet
As you must know by now the 4th Naval Expedition Fleet is nearing the East African coast. Our plans are for a military seizure of Kenya and Tanzania, but in order to do this we must have a suitable re-supply station. We ask for a naval base in Madagascar, more specifically one that could be used immediately. We are willing to lease the base for a considerable amount of money.

OOC:We worked this out over TGs.

Cork, Ulster Province, The Commonwealth of Greater Eire

"How in God's Name could we have lost all communications in or out of East Africa? How is that even possible?" Seamus Fitzgerald inquired, rather violently.

"I don't know sir, but we're working on reestablishing a link with Governor Daly. We've positioned the satellites over the area. We've picked up forces of The Knights Templars. They've been sporadically engaged by forces of unknown origin. The vehicles they're using are of similar make as ours, we're still trying to verify whom they belong to." said an Unimportant Intelligence officer whose only role in the story is exposition.

"What of this Yelmish fleet coming up the coast. They've requested permission to refuel in the Comoros. I granted it, I figured we could use the extra money. Do we know if they have intentions of joining the fray?" Seamus asked.

"Their intentions have not been ascertained as of yet." The UIOWORITSIE said.

"What about this New Jyrian military build-up I see at the border? What of that?" Seamus asked, he was in a very inquisitive mood today.

"Again, sir, their intentions are undetermined. They could very well just be protecting themselves." The UIOWORITSIE said.

"Alright, I want communications up and running within the hour. Contact Comoros and see if they know anything. See if you can find Daly, he should be on a ship headed back here by now."

"Yes, sir." The UIOWORITSIE said, saluting The Lord Protector Seamus Fitzgerald before he turned and strode from the room.

One Hour, Four Minutes, Thirty-Seven Seconds Later

The UIOWORITSIE opened the door and saluted Seamus. Seamus returned the gesture and signalled for him to relax. The UIOWORITSIE strode forward with what did not appear to be a happy face. Seamus checked to make sure it wasn't a happy face, and....yep, definitely not a happy face.

"What is it?" Seamus asked.

"Sir, I have some bad news. The unidentifed military force is....well...it's" The UIOWORITSIE mumbled and bumbled through the sentence.

"Spit it out." Seamus said.

"It's us, sir. It's our tanks, our humvees, our helicopters and our men." The UIOWORITSIE said, taking a few steps back, expecting Seamus to throw something heavy at him. But his reaction was very different. He leaned back in his chair and folded his hands over his mouth.

"This is good. If they win, we can grant them autonomy and have an East African Protectorate. All the economic benefits for us and they get independence. What of the New Jyrian forces, have they moved?"

"We...we don't know, sir." The UIOWORITSIE said, very surprised.

"Have we found Daly?"

"We believe he's leading the resistance, sir." The UIOWORITSIE said.

"Even better. We'll need a competent man in charge."

"So, what's our stance, sir?" The UIOWORITSIE asked.

"We don't have one, for now. We watch it unfold."

"Very good, sir." The UIOWORITSIE said.

And they laughed the maniacal laugh of evil masterminds...well, not really. But you can pretend they did.

Warlord Darron smiled. The fleet was in position. Though still in international waters the territorial waters of Kenya was a mere mile or two away. While the fleet had set anchor Warlord Darron walked on the deck of his capital ship the Superior. Sailors and marines greeted him and he did so in return. Tensions were high onboard, the Warlord noticed. People stood on deck watching the waves of the ocean and men sat down and wrote letters to family three thousand miles away. The marines were cleaning their gear and loading bullets into magazines. A middle-aged marine approached the Warlord and saluted him, "Warlord Darron, it is a pleasure." The Warlord knew the marine, he was Colonel Jon Herm, leader of the 1st Brigade of the 55th Marine Division. "It's nice to see you Jon. Are the men ready? The Colonel looked behind him to take a quick glance at the marines preparing themselves, "Ready as they will ever be Warlord. We're anxious for some action. That tour in Ecuador was child's play." The Warlord nodded his head, "This war isn't going to be as easy as Ecuador... If you could excuse me Jon, I have a transmission to make." The Colonel nodded his head and went back to his men. The Warlord walked back to the communications center and stood behind the senoir communications operator. "Put this transmission on open broadcast, type what I say word for word." The operator nodded and the Warlord began speaking.

Transmission 0-0-1-2-1; Open Broadcast
From Warlord Darron
Attention all military forces in Kenya. This is Warlord Victor Darron of the Military Kingdom of Yelm. You are in great peril. Right now as I speak my fleet is in International Waters and will enter Kenyan waters in the next hour or so. This is a warning, leave Kenyan soil or disband. We have your positions plotted and will not hesistate to strike. I say again, leave Kenya, disband or destroy your military equipment. Our forces will strike at all non-Yelm military forces... Attention all military forces in Kenya. This is Warlord...

OOC:The transmission goes over and over again for 30 minutes or so.

IC:
"It is done Warlord." The Warlord watched as his message repeated over and over on the screen, "Very well. Have all carriers maintain a squadron of fighters on imminent attack status. Also prepare all anti-aircraft, anti-missile devices. Our own missiles are to be ready to launch as well." The senoir communications operator did as he was told and transmitted the orders on a secure encrypted line.

Governor Dayl Hikatur sat at his computer monitor. The e-mail came through, high-encryption, as usual, with words he did not want to read. One sentence was particularly unpleasant:

You are to mobilize all available troops against hostile forces there and establish peace if possible.

There were many troops stationed in Zambia. There were loads of heavy battle machinery at his disposal. And even though Hikatur was a pacifist by nature, he still liked the thought of showing off the might of New Jyria's empire. He decided there was a time for a peace and a time for war. It looked like it was time for the latter, and he accepted this. Opening a drawer he found a pack of cigarettes. "Oh, what the hell," he said to himself, and pulled one of them out. Pulling out a metal lighter, he lit it, and took a long drag from it. Hikatur slowly blew the smoke out over the screen.

- - - - -

In fifteen minutes troops were organized all along the Zambia-Tanzania border. It didn't take all that much, since there had already been a high alert and forces had already been stationed there. However, a little more brute force wouldn't hurt anything, except anything stupid enough to get in their way.

"Sir, we've just recieved some satellite scans of the recommended path," said Private Luyr Hjadik, handing the scans to Seargent-First-Class Hak Duryl.

Looking over the images, the Seargent was confused. "What the hell would be stupid enough to get in our way?"

"They appear to be some sort of nomadic people. Should we send some troops to force them to vacate?"

"Naw," said Duryl, "Just have them shoot 'em up. That'll learn 'em."

The troops began to cross into enemy territory. Countless tanks, numbering something slightly over 300, lurched over Tanzanian soil. They were followed by convoys of troops, all of them equipped with M-16's and kevlar. These probably numbered around 200,500 men in all. Overhead flew 200 military-grade choppers, armed to the teeth with heavy and light weaponry.

A new invasion force was now on the playing field.

"Sir, we have a lot of activity in Kenya. Yelm versus The Knights Templar."

"What do we have in the area corporal?" 'Damn... we're allied to both.'

"Three Virginias and two Zumwalts sir. They're protecting our island holdings in the Mocambique channel."

"Very well. Have one of the Virginias sneak in and get an overview. I'll inform Command."

The overviewer picked up a phone and called the High Command and informed them of the situation. The order to send in the Virginia remained in effect, but only to provide recconnisance. They were to fire only if fired upon. Still, it was armed well enough. 8 Tomahawk anti-ship cruise missiles, 12 Lance SSMs and 32 Mk48 ADCAP torpedoes. It was enough to cause some serious trouble if the shit hit the fan.

"what the hell?" General Marcellus said, looking at the newest reports. "We've already established sovereignty in Tanzania. The conflict is in Kenya, yes?"
"Sir, this seems to be a new player. New Jyria, or something of the sort. I believe they intend to take Tanzania." replied an aide.
"Well," the general began, " pull back all forces except the forces already fortified in Mombasa and Nairobi. We will crush these fools, then worry about Yelm." he decided.
*** New Jyria***
The Knight Templars have already taken control over Tanzania; it is peaceful and under our control. Your forces are ordered to do a complete about face. Any opposition will be brutally crushed. The Roman Confederacy, divided as it may be over Kenya, will clearly chose sides in this. Retreat Immediatly, and do not enter Kenya as well. But be warned this is viewed as an invasion onto Templars home territory, and will be handled internationally as such.

Warlord Darron checked his watch, an hour was almost up. He began walking towards the bridge when a officer run up towards him. "Warlord, New Jyria soldiers have crossed into Tanzania. Current reports are sketchy but we expect to have a full report within ten minutes." The Warlord frowned, this war was getting out of his control. "Very well, order satellites to position themselves over New Jyria, I want their defensive positions, structures and government facilities labelled as possible targets. Also make sure we are getting new photographs of Kenya and Tanzania. One more thing, make sure the livewire feed on Kenya is ready once we go in." The officer nodded, "Yes Warlord." The officer ran to the bridge to carry out his superiors orders but the fleet was now in Kenyan waters. Submarines continuously patrolled around the fleet, searching for any trespasers.

Back at Antartica the second fleet was beginning to leave harbour. Onboard was Warlord Olsef Truttin, who commanded the fleet until it reached Warlord Darron. Warlord Truttin was older than Warlord Darron, but was less experience. His enormous fleet set sail for Reddin Base, where they would resupply and enter the combat zone.

Official Statement from Cork

Any nation that assaults New Jyrian soil will have to deal with retribution from The Commonwealth of Greater Eire as per the terms of The Caoolian Compact. The Knights Templars is exempt from this decree. As for our rogue military unit, they are no longer our problem. All Commonwealth citizens are granted the right to renounce their citizenship and these people have taken up that right. We are concerned, however, over the theft of Commonwealth military systems. Expect further updates as the situation progresses.

Governor's Mansion, Nairobi, Kenya, East African Republic

President Michael Daly, as he was calling himself now, crumpled up the printout and threw it against the wall. His aide had delivered him the statement just before the power had gone out. Artillary shells had torn apart the upper levels of the mansion and he'd been forced to move into the extensive catacombs below the mansion. They extended far out into the surrounding city, built by Hibernian architects far below the sewer systems as a means of escape for people of political or military importance. The longest tunnels extended for ten miles beyond the city limits. Their purpose had been to avoid those dramatic embassy rooftop extractions you see on television so often. There were hundreds of soldiers down there with him. Hundreds of feet above the people of Nairobi acted in cooperation with the military that had protected them for so long. The East African tanks trundled through the streets launching artillary shells at The Knights Templars positions as helicopters peppered TKT troops with infinite rounds of machine gun fire. The resistance had spread beyond the city, as well. The farmers planted homemade bombs along roads in order to blow the treads of TKT tanks. Women threw molotov cocktails from their windows as the men fired their rifles from the trees. Michael Daly's Revolution was spreading.

OOC: TKT: I'm not sure if your forces are inside Nairobi or not. If you could specify in your next post exactly where your forces are and what they're doing it'd be appreciated.

We officially condemn any attack on The Knights Templars, but in light of our recent diplomatic relations with Yelm over Vancouver Island, we are inviting the participants of this war to arrange a conference (headed by us) to peacefully discuss the situation. Because of the concerns over the stability and welfare of the area and because of our good relations with Yelm and our alliance with The Knights Templars, we are hopeful that the participants of this war will accept our invitation. Michael Daly had radioed to the East African Republic Air Base fifty miles north of Nairobi. The tanks and the helicopters were holding back The Knights Templars forces with the aid of the citizenry, but strikes from the sky would only help their cause. A contingent of bombers and fighters were being prepared for flight. The pilots were getting dressed and sprinting across the tarmac to their birds. Within minutes of the order, the contingent had been prepared and was on its way to Nairobi.

Rowan MacNamara loved his F-16. He'd named it Josephine. He didn't know anyone named Josephine, so he couldn't say he'd named it for someone like most of his compatriots. He just thought Josephine was a good name for an F-16. Noone could argue with him. How could you say there was a bad name for a plane. I suppose if you wanted to name it Paul or something, some questions might be raised, but seriously what's a bad name for a plane? So, he named it Josephine. He thought he'd heard a song about a girl named Josephine but he could never recall the lyrics or the tune which presented the problem of whether or not it existed at all. But it was no matter. He was going to defend his (new) country and kill some (possible) commies. He wasn't sure if they were commies or not, but if they weren't from his country they probably were. He left it at that. This is what he thought about on the short flight to Nairobi. As they approached the city the bombs were dropped on TKT forces and he fired his guns and all was good. It was when he thought the battle was won and the ground forces were pretty well annihalated with considerable damage to the surrounding city that the blips on his radar suddenly appeared and hundreds of TKT bullets tore through the cockpit and eviscerated his body. Josephine tumbled in the sky and slammed into a high rise building, sending paper and debris scattering over the streets below. The horribly distorted body of Josephine came to a smoldering rest on the floor of an office building. It would remain there for days. And it was with the death of Rowan MacNamara that the Battle of Nairobi Skies began.

Warlord Darron was previously notified of the peace conference proposal by the king via secured transmission. Good he though, this bought them more time to mobilize more soldiers and fleets. Plus they might be able to get the gold mines without even a fight, though he doubted this. Still something bothered him greatly, something that he couldn't put his finger on. He took an hour's time in his office to think of what was troubling him. Finally he realise what was upsetting him. The Yelmish fleet was within perfect striking range of the Kenya coast, but they did not strike. They showed a sign of weakness of not striking when they were in the perfect position to do so. Immediately the Warlord called the weapons officer via intercom, "Will I need you to notify some cruisers to prepare a missile launch. Nothing big, just something to show we aren't weak or scared. Also make sure you get the king's approval." A voice replied back, "Yes Warlord." The Warlord let go of the receiver button and went to his bar. He filled half way his glass with Scotch and drank it down rapidly. Within ten minutes of his order the Weapons Officer had the permission from the king to launch the appropiate missiles.

Using livewire feed and the latest satellite photographs five Sea Class Guided Missile Battlecruisers targetted thirty military targets in Kenya. The targets included, command centers, SAM sites, fuel containers, hangars, and barracks. At twelve o'clock the first missile was launched, slowly another was launched and another and another. Every missile launched a minute before the first, after 30 minutes the attack was finished. The large 6,800kg Hurrican Missiles hit super-sonic speeds as it made its way to the intended target. After the launch sequence was finished the missile tubes were reloaded with fresh missiles. All that was left to do was to wait for a possible response.

OOC: Only TKT military was targetted. Also sorry for the bad post, just wanted a quick one in before bed.

Warlord Darron leaned back on his chair, this was becoming too easy. With Yelmish and New Jyrian forces pressing down on Kenya and on Tanzania victory was nearly assured. He stared at the report on his desk. The Knight Templars, and the Romans haven't made any contact yet, this troubled him. Perphaps they were planning some sort of secret military action behind his back. This angered him some what and he called in his weapons officer once again, "Will, I need you to hit them again. This time I want eighty missiles, aimed them at their fortifications, command centers, SAM sites, hangars, what ever. Just make it happen. Also make sure you reload the tubes the minute the missiles have been fired." A single reply came back, "Yes Warlord." The Warlord leaned back in his chair, he wasn't going to get caught off guard, no sir. Onboard the YEF Fury, a Vanguard Class Heavy Missile Strike Ship, the launch sequence for the release of eighty Hurricane Missiles were typed in. Within minutes the first missile was off towards The Knight Templars forces, only 30 seconds seperated each missile from the next.

Off the coast of Africa the second fleet slowly made it's way closer to the fleet led by Warlord Darron. Onboard Warlord Truttin radioed the 4th NEF. "This is Warlord Truttin, we are nearing your position, ETA for arrival is one hour." The Warlord made his message simple and to the point. He dropped the radio, and went to his office to sleep. Bull, General Marcellus thought. Tell that to Yelm. Their series of missle strikes had almost decimated an entire unit, not to mention the nightmare it had unleashed on logistics. As far as the rest of Kenya, his army wasn't about to march on anywhere.
"Order no more land engagments." The General ordered. "But launch the planes. All of them."
On his order, Templar planes based in Mozambique and outposts in Tanzania launched to Nairobi. The Generals plan was to make the bombing of England or Berlin of WWII look like a joke. Likewise, Templar planes fron Dijbouti and the Templar fleet, formerly of the Persian Gulf but moving southward, were given the Broken Arrow command on all Yelm forces.

"Warlord Darron, long range sensors have picked up large amounts of Templar aircraft in the air. Satellite livewire feed has confirmed." The Warlord thought for a moment. His primary air combat fighter was the F-79B an aircraft that we considered to be one of the best in the world. He turned to the communications operator, "Contact all ships, tell them to initiate standard anti-aircraft and missile procedure. Have all long range missiles and decoys ready for possible deployment. Also have all of our carriers launch their stand-by squadrons. The load-out is to be air to air combat. Also make sure that a steady stream of reinforcment aircraft is sent as well. And make sure our fighters only fly over the fleet, do not leave the proximity of the fleet's protective missile screen." The officer nodded and told several other nearby communication operators the orders. Within minutes the order was given to the entire fleet. Sailors scrambled on deck of their ships, mannings defenses and going into their battle-station positions.

Within a half an hour a total of 336 fighters were flying over the fleet, awaiting for a possible enemy attack. Another 96 fighters were on imminent deployment status as reinforcments.

The enemy aircraft were in the air, though numerous their chance of drastically destroying the entire fleet was slim to none. Still a deep feeling lingered with the Warlord, the enemy weren't attacking, and neither was he. Immediately the Warlord called for his weapon's officer through the intercom, "Will, prepare another barrage of Hurricane missiles into Kenya. This time make them feel it. Target SAM sites, hangars, barracks, bunger, communication centers, what ever. Just make sure they'll feel it." He clicked off intercom and waited. A deep voice replied, "As you have commanded warlord. At the moment cruiser squadrons 11, 12 and 13 are within missile range. Battleship squadron 5 and 6 are within cannon range and missile range. Also several of our Skipjack's are in cruise missile range. So right now we can safely launch, 696 Hurricane missiles from those squadrons alone, right now I wouldn't advise use of the battleships cannon. The attack will take roughly half of those squadron's hurricane missile supplies so I'll advise immediate replenishment." The Warlord grinned, 696 was the perfect amount of missiles, not too much not too little. "Very well Will, make it happen. Make sure our fighters stay away from the attacking squadrons."

The squadron's positioned their launching tubes to the appropiate direction for launch. Off shore the Kenyan coast the four Skipjack submarines launched their appropiate missiles and snuck quietly back to the bottom of the ocean. Within an hour of the order all 696 missiles were launched toward the Kenyan targets. There was only a thirty second delay in between each missile. Immediately supply ships replenished the surface ships payload and they returned to their normal formation.

192 F-18e Super Hornets
84 F/A-22a Raptors
12 F-117s
48 B-1 Stratofortresses
48 F-15s
384 planes in all, with 96 in a distant reserve. While were on the topic of clarification, what kinda planes you got there? Didnt recognize em.

The Chancellor was prepared to offer the first peace package the Templars were ready to concede:
"The honorable Poor Fellow Soldiers of Jesus Christ and the Temple of Solomon, recognizing the need for peace, is wiling to negotiate with the Aggressor nations of Yelm, and New Jyria. The rebels within Nairobi are terrorists, and as such are not welcome. To Yelm, recognizing the country's thirst for gold, we offer the following plan: Your choice of three gold mines within the terriroty, any three of your choosing, to be completely yours and without taxation. The Templars will also agree to a trade agreement allowing the free trade and reduced prices of precious metals between our two nations. In return, we request whaling rights off of Antartica. Moby Dick style, all the way.
To New Jyria: We offer you a trade agreement, recognizing the benefit between our two nations due to our proximity.

At Warlord Darron's capital ship a scream was yelled out by the long range sensors operator. "Inbound enemy aircraft, destination is presumed to be the fleet." Warlord Darron, who was nearby, heard the annoucment and quickly ran over to the man's station. "How many?" The man looked at his screen, "Over 350 I'd say Warlord. Perphaps more." The Warlord took a minute to think. "Order our fighters to engage enemy aircraft, long range missiles first. Order them to fire two missiles each at long range, then order them to go maximum speed to close the gap between, and engage with short and meduim range missiles. Prepare an anti-aircraft screen with our fleet and launch all reserve aircraft." The men in the command tower did as they were told, and within a half an hour 432 Next Generation Air Superiority Fighters were inbound on the Templar's aircraft. At 105km each launched two long range missiles for a total of 864 missiles towards the Templar air formation. The aircraft then increase thrust to propel it at mach 3.6. The gap was rapidly closing as the Molniya aircraft prepared to launch their second volley of missiles.

Back at the flight the back up squadrons of fighters were quickly being readied for combat. A total of 48 aircraft were ready to launch immediately but was stopped by the Warlord. He wanted to mass the enemy with highly advanced aircraft, not send in small waves. On his capital ship the warlord watched as the air battle continued.

Nothing doing. Not even feasible. While we are working for peace, we are hoping that you will be realistic. New Deal: 50/50 ownership over gold mines, and 70/30 silver mines (our favor). You are invading our land. Do not get greedy. This plan is very favorable

The General followed the early moments of the battle carefully. The enemy had deployed missles as range, which was a respectfull tactc. While sem-prepared for this, the slower F-15s had problems, and their casualties were mounting. "Keep to the plan." He said" protect the bombers, and don't allow any more screw-ups."

Colonel Eric Sanders checked his radar. The enemy aircraft had yet to engage his aircraft. He couldn't let this oppurtunity slide. At 60km he ordered all of his aircraft to launch their meduim range missiles. The massive amount of aircraft release four missiles each for a grand total of 1772 missiles haeding towards the Templar aircraft. The Colonel then ordered his formation to prepare to break standard formation and switch to short range missiles once the enemy aircraft as close enough. All counter-measures were armed and ready for a retaliatory response.

Back at the fleet the carriers were working non-stop to prepare another large amount of aircraft for release. These aircraft were F-91 multi-role fighters, which were sufficient to deal with both land and air targets. Destroyers, Cruisers, and frigates prepared their misssle tubes to launch against possible inbound enemy aircraft that made it through the fighter screen. Over the fleet a small reserve of 24 F-79 fighters stood on watch, waiting for the enemies aircraft to attack the fleet. This small reserve was only a detterance (sp?) for any enemy bombers that made it through.

Colonel Sanders listened in his radio. Base was giving him new orders, "Black Eagle this is base. Commence attack. Reinforcments are enroute" That was all the colonel needed. Within minutes his fighters have sped up to mach 3.1, closing the gap between the Templar fighters. Once they were within range the fighters launched two missiles each at the templar aircraft.

At the carriers another 172 fighters had been mobilized, with another possible hundred underway. The new fighter formation quickly increase speed and would soon enter the battlefield.

Back at the the fleet a new missile attack was being prepared. Missile cruisers, frigates and destroyers prepared to unleash their heavy surface to surface cruise missiles. Once the order 1,200 large 1,000lb cruise missiles were launched with ten seconds in between each missile. The main targets were government facilities, military bases, hangars, supply routes, airbases, naval bases, basically anything involving the military. Immediately after the launch supply ships from Madagascar replenished the cruise missile launch tubes.

Being such, we are removing all Templar forces from Kenya, and are officialy ceding it to Yelm. He let go of the speak button an uncertain voice spoke from the intercom, "Well Warlord, in an hour I can get a brigade size, another four hours we'll have a division. After two days of non-stop work we can have up to three divisions on Kenya. Do you want me to start mobilization?" The Warlord thought for a moment, "Yes immediately. Use attack helicopters at will." The Warlord walked away from the intercom system and began to think. Kenya wasn't sufficient by any means. This incident isn't over. Using the intercom again he contacted the Captain, "I want preparations made to re-supply our multi-role aircraft, and I want a massive missile strike to be underway." The Warlord waited several seconds before he received a reply, "Warlord didn't we make peace?" Angrily the Warlord shouted back, "No we have not. They merely have given us Kenya, we want Tanzania. I know it looks like whining, but I was just caught off guard. I was kinda trying (i thought) to be reasonable, having like one carrier nearby. And to be honest I actually quadruple the U.S. Navy, but then again the U.S. navy is an out dated late 70's early 80's fleet. If you are curious here is my budget. Also take note that the U.S. has around a 250 billion dollar military budget.
Population: 1,818,000,000
Administration: $1,908,485,356,377.60 6%
Social Welfare: $2,226,566,249,107.20 7%

Law & Order: $8,588,184,103,699.20 27%

Public Transport: $1,590,404,463,648.00 5%
The Environment: $0.00 0%
Social Equality: $0.00 0%

I'll be using Cotland next as an example because you mentioned him.
Population: 839,000,000
Administration: $0.00 0%
Social Welfare: $2,012,280,974,959.50 14%
Healthcare: $1,724,812,264,251.00 12%
Education: $2,730,952,751,730.75 19%
Religion & Spirituality: $287,468,710,708.50 2%
Defence: $1,868,546,619,605.25 13%
Law & Order: $3,305,890,173,147.75 23%
Commerce: $1,006,140,487,479.75 7%

The Environment: $0.00 0%
Social Equality: $431,203,066,062.75 3%

So as you can see my military budget is nearly five times more than Cotland and I double him in population. Now there is certainly nothing wrong with that, because Cotland's real power lies in his numerous allies. Does this help?

Incoming bombing raid in Sector 8-9-3-2-4-3. Orders?" The nearby Baron who heard the news immediately contacted the Warlord via secure phone line. "Warlord Darron, long range scanners have detected enemy bombers in bound. They will reach Kenya in a short time, what our my orders?" He heard the silent breath of the warlord. Finally the warlord spoke, "Engage with all of our anti-aircraft batteries and helicopters. I'll send fighter support to assist in anyway. Also make sure none of your forces cross into Tanzania. Our fleet is preparing a massive bombardment." The Baron nodded, "As you command Warlord." Immediately the PAC-3 systems were put online, tracking the bombers through radar. A air defense network had been planned our before the marines deployment, a total of 81 PAC-3 Systems, 81 Vulcan Cannons, and 203 Sergeant York anti-aircraft cannons made up the anti-aircraft defensive network. Once the bombers were at the border and within range the PAC-3 systems launched 162 anti-aircraft missiles at the bombers. The remaining half was put on reserve in case the first barrage did not fully destroy the bomber threat. The anti-aircraft guns positoned themselves near key facilities and waited for the bombers to get within cannon range.

Warlord Darron approached the Captain, "Is the attack ready?" The Captain nodded, "Yes warlord. Military targets in Tanzania have been targetted. We have 7,152 missiles ready for launch. Submarines have prepared a 102 cruise missile launch at government facilities. Do we launch?" The Warlord looked out from the bridge. "Launch immediately. Also send out five squadrons of F-79's to Kenya. They are to assist in the bomber threat. Have two more squadrons on stand-by." The Captain nodded, "It shall be done."

Across the fleet cruisers, destroyers, and battleships launch a terrifying missile attack consisting of heavy 1000lb and 2000lb missiles. Along the shore line batteships bombarded the coast line of Tanzania with their horrific 20inch and 24 inch ETC cannons. Within two hours of constant bombardment over 4,000 shells have been lobbed at the coast of Tanzania. For miles along the coast destruction and death was all that there was to see.

The bomber's missile came screaming towards the fleet. Once the fighters saw the launch they kicked up their engines to mach 2.9 to close the gap between the enemies fighters. The fighters positioned themselves within range and launched 48 missiles at the fighters.

Back at the fleet everyone was running around frantically to their battle stations. A small volley of 22 missiles was launched back the bombers in the sky in hope of scoring a lucky hit. The counter-measures and anti-missile devices went to work quickly as the missiles closed within range. The first impact exploded on the deck of a destroyer. Suddenly dozens of missiles came flying through the air, impacting on the ships. When all was finished three destroyers were severly damage, two frigates were sinking, a cruiser was severly damaged, and a battlecruiser receive moderate damage. Several mor frigates and destroyers received light damage.

At the carrier fleet twelve F-91's were launched in a rush to the battle sight. They hit their engines to maximum speed, hoping that the bombers hadn't gotten away yet.

OOC: How could you know my forces are tired, and my logistical support is spent? I still have over 5 million soldiers I can use.

IC:
The process of unloading the marines onto the shore of Kenya was a long and tiring task. A rate of a division per day was established in order to put less strain on supply's on the coastline. Further bombings and attacks were cancelled. Baron Michael Stevens was the first high ranking officer on the coastline. Immediately he looked out at the smoking ruins of a agricultural field. The land would be furtile again and the mines could be re-dug. Not all was lost.

At Antartica a new fleet was being readied, the destination for the fleet was Madagascar. From there on it was unclear to whether it would go to Saudia Arabia, or go around Cape Horn and towards West Africa. This fleet was the most advanced fleet in the Yelmish fleet. It included:
x1 Greenmanbry Trimaran Battle Class Carrier
x1 Valiant Trimaran Class Super Carrier
x3 Naticoke Class Carriers
x4 Capital Class BBGN
x12 Praeton Class CGH
x5 Sea Class CBGN
x16 Johnston Class AA Destroyer
x18 Evermore Class Destroyer
x35 McDonough Class ASW frigate
x24 Hastings Class Strike Frigate

OOC: You're fleet/soldiers off of Africa will be spent. The planes need fuel, and I see you didn't bring any tankers. You troops will bring food, and you're transports can barely fit all of your troops, much less a lot of supplies. I mentioned early on how you didnt seem to have ANY logistics: now it will come back to bite you. There not helpless, of course, but at least recongize your forces their will need to stay at least a while for occupation, peacekeeping and re-fitting. Other forces, okay.

IC: His forces pulled back into Mozambique, General Marcellus began the detail defense of the territory. Mines placed in the major water fronts, barricades along roads, and detailed intelligence aircraft were only the beginning. The General's first priority was the prepping of the Patriot missles, spread strategically throughout the countryside to sheild almost every major city and airfield. as well, all aircraft were put on high alert status, and through conscription and volunteers, his infantry ranks were swelling at an exponential rate. He knew The First Templar fleet would be staying in the Persian Gulf to protect the homeland, but with his preperations, he wouldnt need them.

OOC: As I stated I have supply stations in Madagascar and Somalia. And as a matter of fact I could of sent five thousand more soldiers on board my transports, but I used up the room for exactly what you say I lack of. My soldiers haven't really faced any combat so they aren't tired considerably. Also I posted my logistics to combat soldier ratio.

IC:
The 1st Heavy Combat Fleet continued it's course through the Pacific, sailors on board prepared their weapons systems and tested new equipment for possible battles to come.

On the Kenyan coastline the marine division count was up to nearly six marine divisions. Men on shore established fortified command centers and make shift defenses.

The Cottish Naval Station in Juan de Nova Island was teeming with life. The four P-7A Orion II surveilance planes stationed there were out monitoring the situation in Kenya. The Yelmish naval force were within striking range of the base, and since the Cots weren't officially in a alliance with Yelm, they could be the target of an attack. Therefore the Orion IIs were flying dangerously close to the Yelmish battlegroups, only 120 nautical miles out, showing off their eight AGM-190B 'Lance' SSMs and six Mk 48 ADCAP torpedoes mounted under the wings of the aircrafts. The message was clear: Don't mess with us or our territory.

OOC:
GnOoLoCoPeLep-are you going to be engaging my marines in Kenya or can I just advance in? I'm still not sure if your soldiers are in there, so I want to know who I am fighting.

IC:
Warning unidentified aircraft, you are nearing war zone area. We ask that you change course, or identify yourself to avoid incidents. I repeat warning unidentified aircraft your are nearing the war zone area...

Secured Transmission to All Naval Fleets Involved In Operation New Kingdom
By order of the King, all Yelmish fleets are to reposition themselves at 6-3-5-5-1-3. Only two fleets will remain off the Kenyan coastline, all others are to move towards the new location. Follow standard ROE.

Captain Xavier checked his map. A nearby officer walk up to the Captain after hearing the transmission. "Where are we going Captain." The Captain looked up. "Our new destination is outside Mozambique waters."

The pilot of the P-7A Orion II looked at the co-pilot with a pathetic look.

"They don't recognize us, do they!?"

"No sir, they don't."

"Well, let's enlighten them, shall we?"

The pilot started to speak on the radio to the Yelmish fleet.

"This is Hotel 1-1. We are a Cottish naval surveilance aircraft of the type P-7A Orion II, maintaining Cottish supremacy over Juan de Nova Island. You are dangerously close to the island and its naval base, and we reccommend you to change course away from the island, or we may consider your actions an act of war. Over."

The Petty Officer looked towards Captain Svein Klein. "Sir they are Cottish aircraft. They say we are violating their waters." The Captain looked puzzled. He walked over to the digital map which displayed the fleet's and their current location. The Captain walked over to the open transmissions station. "Hotel 1-1, this is Captain Svein Klein of the YNF Stock. Our current position does not intrude onto your waters. We are in international waters. Our course will remain the same." The Shield-Bearer Guided Missile Cruiser maintained it's course as well as it's escort vessels. The Captain then walked over to the weapons station. He stood behind the officer in charge of the station and spoke, "Paint them. Do nothing else unless they attack." The man nodded and "painted" the enemies aircraft.

OOC: Painting your aircraft means that I'm tracking them. Your pilots should hear a "beeping" noise to confirm this.

"YNF Stock, Hotel 1-1. We will maintain this course for now. If you come within 24 nautical miles of Juan de Nova Island, you are violating Cottish waters and will be fired upon. You are now warned. Hotel 1-1 out."

The pilots continued their conversation inside the cockpit when they got tracked by the Yelmish fleet.

"Sir, they're tracking us. What should we do?"

"We do nothing. They are near our waters, but still in international waters. If they cross into our territorial waters, we fire in self defense. For now we will maintain the course, as I said."

"Very well sir."

"Well that was an interesting conversation. Commander how much longer until we reach our desintation?" spoke the warlord. A middle age voice replied, "A few more hours sir. Colonel Diggs wishes to inform you that the marine landings have gone uncontensted thus far. He said that once he reaches ten divisions he's going to start pushing into Kenya." The warlord nodded. "Very well, maintain current speed. We are in no rush."

The Republic of East Africa's government has gone into hiding. All military equipment is being hidden. We warn Yelmish forces to proceed with caution.

OOC: They're just hiding out in the tunnels I build under all my capitals. They may come out eventually. Chances are I'll just forget about them. Kenya is yours, Yelm.

OOC: Ok then. If you don't mind I'll RP some of their attacks against my forces in Kenya. Sorry for crummy post btw.
IC:
The order for the beginnings of Operation Red Storm was given directly by King Yelm XI. Within an hour of the decree the first two marine divisions began moving through Kenyan territory. Tanks and mechanized units took to the streets and cities as lightly armed infantry took to the jungle to secure the flanks. The group met light resistance from kenya fighters. After the first day of combat only 34 soldiers were killed and 102 more wounded. More and more marine divisions joined in on the fight, a total of ten marine divisions would eventually be mobilized from the coastline to move inward.

OOC: Uhh, post deleted. To sum it up.

1)15 Marine divisions overtook Kenya. 4,000 KIA; 16,000 WIA
2)Marines invade Tanzania under cover of a massive artillery barrage, inbound aircraft will assist if needed.
3)4,500 missile attack against Templar military targets in Kenya.
4)Ships with cannons in excess of 15 inches were directed to launch a massive barrage of cannon fire along Mozambique coastline
