This is a different kind of "claims" thread. This is only for people who have no 'defined' territory already and, as far as I know, is not party to any of the Earth N+1 threads currently active.

I have an unfortunate problem. I acquired a territory by force of arms, and now it has become rebuilt to the point that it should have a place in the world. The only problem is that the nation I acquired it from was not in any sort of organized region and so its neighboring nations is a matter of debate.

Who can apply?

Almost anyone. I am not yet someone who can be extremely picky. All I ask is that you cannot have any 'RL' claims, or defined territory. If you appear on another map, you can't be on this one.

What are the perks?

Living next to me, who vies with North Korea for the title of Most Disproportionally Militarized. Living next to anyone else who decides to show up.

I recomend that you join the tradelands. Its the best region anyone could ask for! We've got a map thats updated often, TWO founders, lots of active members, and ourt own forum! Youve gotta be a capitalistic nation. The more capitalistic you are, the better off you'll be.

All right. Would you like south or east, when it comes to it (or both)? As mentioned previously, bordering me is a downside, but if you check my post history my nation is also relatively subtle. The only reason it invaded ClemsonTigers is because it could get away with it without looking overly expansionistic--ClemsonTigers was being belligerent, and the vesh simply stepped in to 'protect the world from wanton aggression.' Also, while my military is ludicrously huge, Cvechiokal's infrastructure is not enough to support the mass of it in a huge invasion of anyone else yet; the primary supply lines still stretch all the way back to Sh'kai and the Rayverr homelands.

While this may not be enough to prevent military adventurism if a watertight PR cover comes along, it is more than enough to give the Rayverr military pause before trying anything. Having military power and projecting it are two very different things.

If you're still interested, about what size is your country and what (vaguely) is it shaped like, what terrain does it have, so on and so forth. That way if this really does become a sort of 'regional' map, I can work on having it ready.

Well. I always imagined it being somewhat like a rough circle (expansion as needs increase - hey there, neighbours!), preferably with sea access to the East. Roughly the size of the United States, but I don't know if that's too big for you region or not. Mountains to the North, but mostly flat grassland or forests.

This is what I have so far. I won't put in terrain until we get it better fleshed out. Also, this landmass needs a name, something less me-centric than "Cvechiokal-Region" (even though I am in the center, because I made the map--in the time-honored tradition of Mercator).

A Note on the eSEDZ:

Those are the other 'colonies' of the Sean Empire (ClemsonTigers makes up the core) that were irradiated by CT's nuclear bombardment. As per the peace treaty between the vesh and CT, the vesh essentially has control over this area and is expending a fair amount of resources in trying to clean it up... although most of this clean-up consists of finding the best, brightest, most motivated, and least irradiated and shipping them to Cvechiokal. There is a corridor to allow for peaceful CT expansion, and the vesh will probably open up the eSEDZ to other nations eventually, probably once the clean-up process turns out to be wholly uneconomical (which it is fast becoming). Most of it is not too bad; the entire area's background count is well above normal though and dangerous to actually live in--high chance of cancer. I may map it out in greys, rads, or curies eventually, again depending on interest.

It is vey mountainous except for the western plain where most of the cities are situated. If possible it would like a small coast with access to the sea

I know that Cvechiokal/eSEDZ are landlocked, but that sea/ocean/water to the east could be finagled to take just a bit of The Arch Wobbly's southern border. If Ftagn is still interested, it has first rights to the southern border of Cvechiokal... so you would probably end up somewhere to the south of TAW.

Small like Switzerland. And near as in on the same side of the map. If you need to fill the space and no one else wants it i have about six other nations that you could put on

I would prefer to have more people active rather than a group of different nations run by the same person... beggars cannot be choosers, though. If, within the week, we do not get any more interest, we can put some of those in as filler.

I would like to request neighboring you to the south, if that suits your needs. Consider Dominae to be somewhat like oh, Austria I suppose, though covering a bit more room than that, and encompassing somewhat more than just that with the culture.

Ok, so it's still a work in progress. In any case, I can try working up somewhat of a map if that works. I know there has been talk between some of the people in my region on making a regional map, so that might assist you as well I guess.

Quick update: Ftgan's region is making its own map so he's no longer interested. The area south of Cvechiokal is now held for Dominae, assuming it is still interested.

I'm in the East Pacific but the roleplaying scene isn't so swell, and my nation map is not on the big map so it's just an island. (You can see it on my website.)

I intend on keeping my RP'd population relatively low (under 400 million) so it could be a small island just off the coast somewhere. Is that possible?

That we can do. You would probably be off the southern coast (whenever that comes up) so you could have those swamps; that would put you somewhere in the RL Mediterranean. Acceptable?

You can look at the map under the "Welcome" forum, but be advised that the stock market will be off-limits to communists, and nations like Einhauser and myself will be wary of your presence. But still, you are welcome to join our ever-growing region, and it definately seems like your best bet if you're interested in roleplay.

I have not determined an actual scale quite yet; all of the nation sizes are eyeballed. Cvechiokal is the size of South Carolina; TAW is the size of the contiguous USA, thereabouts; Quiblechistan is the size of Poland. Dominae, which may end up south of Cvechiokal and TAW, is about Hungary-sized.

The map has been updated to indicate extrapolations of Dominae and, from there, the rest of The Vast as I can identify. They have been very helpful.

I wish to take the southwestern lands pf the continet up to the most northwestern cornerof the western coast.

Please do not be offended: the borders in grey are tentative; as stated previously, this is not a 'land claims' thread as such where the map is carved out in a more-or-less arbitrary manner.

There should be no problem with that. How the Mark II version of the map is looking (I will post it later once I get more information) has Tsaraine (of The Vast) around Khazakstan and your coastline is somewhere through the middle of the Vasyugan Swamp. This is just for relative positioning; you of course do not need to use it for climate estimation if you do not want to.

The Scandinvans: I am admittedly having trouble giving you the area you want, primarily because TSE (as per the backstory, so I am told) is landlocked and thus it would be difficult to tie in Scandinavia and Western Europe.

I could arrange that. This is not actually Europe, after all...

Southwest? So, perhaps an analog of the Iberian Peninsula with some islands next to it? How large are the islands?

Anyways, something like the Iberian peninsula? Sounds good to me. As for the island size, I originally had it quite small, but since I'm doing this, I'll enlarge them and say that the largest would be around the size of Ireland, with the rest being somewhat smaller. And just to state again, there are 4 of them.

As for positioning, I imagined the largest being on the right, the second to the south, third largest to the north, and the smallest to the west, and that the seas in between make something like an I when they're placed on a single map.

Bump to try and get Rayverr's attention

Having islands is quite acceptable; my only concern is that people not already have space on a map. This is so people who know how large their country is can have a map to put it on, in direct protest of the people who create an nth iteration of Earth and arbitrarily claim nations and land on it.

That can be done quite easily. I will work on the Mark II map and put it up once it is ready. There will be some blank space reserved for those Vast region-members I have not gotten information from yet... and there will be a large deal of TSE "coastline" to take care of, perhaps by a long thin strip dedicated to the Scandinvans.

Good work accept Denmark is considered part of the Scandinavian Peninsula but I cannot match your work. Also good work on dividing the land.

I thought of that, but unfortunately there are limitations due to TSE's backstory (which I did not make up and am therefore reticent to change) that prevented me from giving you Denmark. Thank you for the compliments, however.

I have telegrammed Marijuanita for information as to the size of his nation so I can place it appropriately.

I thought I'd make a small note for anybody who may be wondering. The original map of Tsaraine is here (http://shade.jonpearse.net/Map.jpg) - I RP only with Tsaraine, which is the red one in the middle.

The others are NPCs I created when I made that map (it was a project for art class - it's a plaster cast from a plaster mold from a clay original, painted and with flags stuck in it which you can't see in that picture). They're there mainly to fill up the space, and the largest - Undant, Szekedan, and Samarkant - are all generally inhospitable with very low population densities.

Many thanks to Rayverr for putting The Vast on here, and for putting up with my nitpicks.

I have updated the map again, coloring it in to remove the line map of Europe. I can make another map with a transparent overlay of Europe, to help in positioning and such...

...and after getting in touch with the last few members of the Vast, I could start filling in physical information.

I have finalized the region map (barring people who want to take the grey area in the middle). Kaenei is not exactly on it, being outside the scope (he is in Greenland), but Greenland is to the immediate northwest of this map and, were I to extend the borders, he would be there. Sorry if this causes an inconvenience, but scaling would become more difficult if I had to extend this map over to the North American continent thanks to the inaccuracies of sphere-flat plane translation.

Quiblechistan was deleted from the game. I owned it so could you replace Quiblechistan with I Am Watching You on the map

I will do that as soon as I can.
