It was a cold, snowy evening in Ottawa- Prime Minister Graves had been at Parliament all day, debating the finer points of the federal budget with the opposition. As he drove home, he muttered things to himself like, "Damn Liberals..they insist that we need to spend more on social programs, even though I allowed for a 20% increase this year- what do they want us to do? Fuckin' disarm ourselves?"

He was fighting his way through normal Ottawa traffic when he decided to turn on the radio, to try to catch some tunes. However, he heard something quite different:

The radio crackled, "Good evening Ottawa, this is Chuck Kernick, right here on ECBC Radio One Ottawa...It's been a momentous day in global history today, as the government of Kahta has finally collapsed.."

Colin was drinking from his coffee mug when he heard the news, causing him to spit it out. "What the?"

The radio continued, "Today, all hell broke loose all across Kahta as the people took to the streets against the government, rioting and looting has been reported. It has been reported that citizens' milita have seized control of Boston, and that the Fabus family has gone missing."

At that point, Colin pulled over to the side of the road, got out of his car, and fell on his knees in thanksgiving- "God,I know I used to doubt you existed, and maybe I really shouldn't have, but THANK YOU! THANK YOU JESUS!"

45 Minutes Later..

Colin finally arrived at home. As he walked in, Mai jumped into his arms, kissing him repeatedly. Colin kissed her back, and said, "I trust you heard?" She nodded, "Indeed..but take a look outside."

Colin and Mai walked out onto the balcony. Below, they saw the masses of people celebrating, setting off fireworks and cheering. They could also hear church bells toll in the distance, some even playing 'O Canada'. Colin turned to Mai, saying, "You go in..I'll be along." Colin stayed outside for a few minutes, thinking. He then said, "Tomorrow- the real work begins. The liberation must still occur."

He then went inside, knowing that tommorrow would be a crucial day.

OTTAWA

SITUATION ROOM- MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENCE- 9:20 AM, THE NEXT DAY

Prime Minister Graves entered the room, flanked by bodyguards. The generals stood up and saluted, then took their seats. Graves uttered one word. "Situation?"

General MacNaughton stood up. "The Kahtanian government is in shambles, sir. Insurgents have seized control of several key cities, and what remains of the regular armed forces are in disarray."

Graves nodded, "Excellent. Now, I want all of you to hand me a plan for the complete occupation of New York and New England excluding Connecticut by 9 AM tommorrow. We have two million stationed on the border, I believe- stationing more would be prudent."

Graves then abruptly left the room. He had to go to Parliament to deliver an address.
