South Africa.
A nation long wracked by political instability, rapidly spreading HIV infections, rampant corruption, all-pervasive crime, and seemingly incurable racial ills. The aforesaid made it seem a place no one would want. But it had one redeeming feature which made its strategic worth incalculable: it was one of the most geologically wealthy places on the planet and it was located on the very southern tip of the continent.
It was too tempting to pass up. Annexing South Africa would be a tremendous boon to RB's economy.
Generalissimo J.L. did not delay. He immediately began formulating a plan with the Joint Chiefs of Staff...

RB was invading South Africa and preparing to liberate the nation from the corruption following the regimes of the Fabuses and the return to an African administation. He wondered what did happen to the Fabus family, and then, realizing he needed to help his ally RB, called Admiral Bakhtiar. IC: To counter foriegn aggression on the part of many different nations, Sevaris intends to send forces to South Africa to protect South African independence.
Secret IC: At least, that's what Madrid wanted the world to believe. The force of three corps (180,000 men), along with the 6th and 9th Fleets, would be invading South Africa to get a piece of the colonial pie..to try and beat out the rest. Anyway...
The MassPwnage fleet kicked off the invasion of South Africa....
A Draconis Class Uberarsenal ship sitting off of Durban, sailed into position about 100 miles offshore.
The huge ship's massive scanning radar arrays outlined the general city limits of Durban. Although MassPwnage sensors were much more powerful than that, accuracy would not be needed.
"Fire on my command."
3 salvos of STSAS-1 "Red Raven" missiles flew from the VLS and DLS tubes of the Uberarsenalship. Each salvo contained more than 6,000 missiles. As they approached SAM range, their rocket assissted low altitude ramjets kicked in.
The people of Durban barely had time to react. The Red Ravens blew up, spewing out vaporous thermite and huge amounts of vaporous napalm. Some people tried to flee, others tried to hide in their Mississippian era bomb shelters. Those that tried to flee had no place to go and were horrifically burned to death in the conflagration. Those that hid suffocated slowly as the firestorm above robbed them of oxygen.

OUTSIDE OF EAST LONDON
The onslaught had finally begun. At 3:00 AM, the first (XI) Corps made its way ashore, against heavy resistance. Support fire was provided by the battleships of the 6th Fleet, while the planes of the 9th Fleet's carriers helped to batter down the enemy. Some units had already managed to break out of the pocket and were racing towards East London proper, but it was going to be a tough fight indeed.
In East London, the paratrooper assault began. Squads of units were landing all over the city- however, it wasn't going as planned. South African units had managed to pocket the paratrooper companies, and cut off their access. They'd have to hold out until Sevarisian reinforcements arrived. A tough proposition, but they could do it.
Meanwhile, back in Madrid
Kaiserine Yuna Mannerheim was reading her emails when she came across one from the Foriegn Ministry- the Dubocratic Union was willing to hold peace talks. Yuna thought, "Well, if we go, we can't say we tried." She then fired off a response:

The Persian Shah looked at the situation for South Africa. He had little idea what was going on, but one thing was certain, Sevaris was being a classical Liberal scum nation and helping the Africans prop up their corrupt regime rather than allow a benevolent foreign colonial master to take over. There was a fleet being prepared for a Namibia invasion, but there is a better place to put that now that the Safehavenites were in control. Perhaps the Severanians could use a wakeup call to not be scum. The Shah picked up the phone, "Sir, redeploy the fleet. I want Sevaris out of the war ASAP. Meanwhile, Pwnage Marines broke into Pietermaritzburg. Urban combat was bloody, but they took the fortress fairly rapidly and left a small garrison of 10,000 men there to maintain control at a local level.
On its way south, the fleet destroyed Port Shepstone, but did not land any troops at that location.
From the Atlantic, another 5 Ubercarrier groups sailed around Cape Agulhas, steaming towards the Sevarisian fleet. At the same time, the original 4 Ubercarrier groups, stocked with more CIWS/ASW ships and more supplies from fresh 250 ship fleet train began moving from Port Shepstone to New London. The battle for the city was finally over. After inflicting heavy casualties on the South Africans, XI Corps recieved the surrender of the local garrison. The fleets had raced ahead at nearly 30knots leaving behind their own supply chain so they would be sure to meet the MP convoy were they wanted to. Now the massive ASW perimeter sat a mere 180mls from the MP convoy and that’s when shit started hitting the fan. The 155mm railguns equipped on the destroyers had more than enough range to start shooting up the convoy and some of the heavier cruiser railguns also joined in. Top priority was given to the destroyers with CIWS ships getting a close second as the first salvo zoomed out of the guns, hundreds of shells arced in the sky. Before the first salvo even finished climbing and started their descent another salvo was on its way targeting computers making corrections after watching the arc of the first salvo. Soon enough the shells would lance into the MP escort ships. The guns would keep firing till they had done their job and sunk the destroyers.

I wish to help you seize South Africa. A country as immensely valuable as this should not be allowed to fall into communist hands. Moreover, it must not be allowed to fall into Havenite hands, for should that happen, Botswana and Zimbabwe would be 100% surrounded by Havenite territory, a situation which would be a huge disadvantage to the free world. I will apply a maximum effort to thwart MassPwnage and Safehaven2's plans for South Africa and ensure that either you emerge victorious. I will not allow S. Africa to fall to the enemy.

To: All Sevarisian units involved in Operation: Golden Condor
All units involved with Operation: Golden Condor are to leave South Africa and its territorial waters as soon as possible- do not engage the enemy unless they engage first. All units are to then move to Mombasa, where resupply will take place. Await further instructions upon arrival.
Meanwhile, on land..
The various units got the message from Madrid. Admittedly, they were sad abandoning their attempted venture in South Africa, but, it must be for the best. They then began the long march back to East London, from where they would regroup with the Combined Fleet and head for home.
Admiral de Cordoba then sent a message to foriegn fleets in the area:

The MassPwnage fleet was reacting just like it was predicted, flinging masses of missiles away and hoping they would do something. They had tried that once to many times and it wasn’t going to work anymore. From the destroyers and perimeter ships the first wave of Sam’s rose up from the batteries enshrouding the ships below them in smoke and flame as they shot off into the horizon hitting mach speeds. The three thousand Phoenix Bow SAM’s moved to crash into the incoming MP missiles which with the ranges involved weren’t able to sea skim. Another fifteen hundred SAMs followed the first wave a few minutes later. Radar screens that seconds before were filled to the limit suddenly began clearing as hundreds of SAMs and ASMs exploded in a massive fireworks show. Still 800 MassPwnage missiles, mostly the faster Helios ones, came onward. They were 80miles away when a different sort of defense was called in. The CAP over the fleet that had been bolstered for this very reason and now the fighters of the fleet began launching their own missiles. They used up their medium range missiles then turned to their shorter range missiles, before long the few remaining MP missiles passed them up, barely 60 of them made it. Back at the fleet the call went up, “leakers leakers”, the Havenite navy was gonna be losing some of its ships that day. A few last minute SAMs went out trying to even the odds before the missiles started crashing in. Chaff and decoys went up distracting a few of the missiles but still some came on. Finally it came down to the close in defense systems, the guns chattering away spitting out tens of thousands of rounds and putting up virtual walls of steel around the ships. With the speed of modern missiles the guns couldn’t take them all and surely hips started going down the first being the HNS Fohit exploding when two missiles struck it hard their penetrators cutting into the ships bowels before detonating. In the end eight destroyers and nine other perimeter ships went down taking with them over a thousand hands.
The CAP aircraft were replaced as fast as possible with new fresh fighters for the next wave. The MP fleet had a good portion of their only defense and once the last of their missiles were gone the supply fleet was gone to. The destroyers kept up their firing pumping out shell after shell aiming at the MP destroyers. The main fleet moved up closer to the perimeter getting ready for the next attack.

3 destroyers and 1 CIWS ship went down into Davy Jones' locker.
40 G80s and 100 ASF-06s took off from Diego Garcia, when they got within 200 miles, 35 of the G80s fired 70 A/STSAN-5 Helios missiles each.
Meanwhile, the CIWS ships fired SAMs into the air to reduce the numbers of the CAP airplanes, as the destroyers fired another 20 A/STSAN-2 Daikatanas each at the Havenite fleet.
The G80s in the air around the supply train fired a salvo 30 A/STSAN-5s each at the Havenite fleet as well.

Mp was attacking again following the same pattern as before this time their attack lacked the weight the one before it had. The SAM’s did nothing falling into the ocean as the CAP fighters pulled back beyond their 200nm max range. This put them closer to their new target, the strike force coming up from the south. Like before the ships on the perimeter put out a thick wave of SAM’s, twenty-five hundred Phoenix Bow missiles rising up and out to meet the one thousand nine hundred and thirty incoming missiles. Again hundreds of explosions ripped across the sky signaling the waste of millions upon millions of dollars. Again a second wave of SAMs equal in strength rose up and met with the incoming missiles and again the sky lit up. The missiles were a bare fifty nautical miles out now only some three hundred left when another wave of SAMs rose up but from a different source, the main fleet. The fleet had been brought up to bolster the perimeter against the next attack and they did just that wiping away nearly every last missile but still a few came on crashing into the ranks of the first ASW perimeter starting up a viscous and short battle with chaff and tracers exiting the ships trying to knock down the last few missiles. It was a grand effort and it saved many sailors but still one unlucky gunship was destroyed outright with a few other damaged, wounded by their high tech brethren. Now the entire fleet moved closer by twenty miles to the MP fleet putting the heavier guns in range of the MP destroyers. Now the added weight would be felt as 320 155mm guns and 120 10inch ETC/EMR guns put everything they had into destroying the last MP destroyers.
The incoming strike from Diego Garcia would meet a different fate. As soon as they were detected 8 F-121 squadrons and 1 squadron of F-133’s from the Cap moved south to intercept them hitting their afterburners they would meet them before they fired. The fighters sat two hundred miles from the fleet and fired when the MP aircraft were 130 miles away they let loose their first salvo of missiles. The fighters unshackled a total of 648 Artemis missiles at the incoming MP strike force. Another 648 missiles kicked off 30 seconds later shooting off to mach 6 as they made their way to the MP aircraft. The first wave would hit 30 seconds before the second saturating the defenses while the second came in to wipe the strike force out. After the second wave was away one squadron of F-121’s broke off and went east while another went west.

Skimming in over the horizon, a flight of F-78s from the Parthian carriers flew forward high above the oceans below scanning for enemy fighters. Suddenly, contacts on radars lit up, to the southeast hundreds of enemy planes were present. Within seconds, the flights of the Persian planes discharged 450 long range Silencer AAMs at the enemy planes as they wheeled to face their targets and moved forward. The fleet meanwhile, approaching the Haventies rapidly was shown the forces they were arrayed against thanks to a passing satellite which suddenly greeted them with images of the enemy fleet on the image data screens in the fire control area. The massive superdreadnoughts now prepared missile tubes of SS-N-19 missiles while Jamshid class cruisiers did the same, arming the warheads and then firing them all off in a massive barrage of destructive, explosive, fast moving missiles in a number of 500. Soon enough, the Havenites would find themselves attacked from 2 sides.

As the cruise missiles approach the MP fleet, they begin to detonate... spreading large, annoying clouds of chaff over a huge area. Due to the number of missiles, a rapidly expanding solid blot appears on the radar screens of everyone in the area as the massive amount of chaff is carried by the wind...
The admiral in charge of the Axis Nova fleet quirks an eye as thousands of antiship missiles rush by on the ocean far below, hopelessly searching for a target. The gun shells, of course, are not even noticed due to being ridiculously out of range.
How foolish to utilize antiship weapons against our airships...
Meanwhile, a massive cloud of UAVs continues to fly towards the MP fleet, now relatively assured of an undetected approach, but also cut off from direct radar contact with their enemy. Fortunately, their controllers know of the general area of their targets, and it is quite difficult to hide inside a gigantic blob on the screen...

In regard to the Havenites:
The MP destroyers, under siege, unleashed what was left of their missiles at the first Havenite ASW perimeter. The CIWS ships assisted too, firing short blast radius EMP missiles at the Havenite fleet's first ASW perimeter to fry their peripheral systems.
When the shells hit 4 more destroyers and 2 more CIWS ships were blown up.
The ASF-06s overhead assisted too, firing 2 Helios missiles each at the first ASW perimeter.
In the air, ASF-06s and G80s scattered apart and fired miniature countermissiles, microwave munition destruction systems, short blast radius EMP missiles and clouds of chaff at the Havenite missile barrage.
Many Havenite airplane missiles fell short. Only 5 ASF-06s were shot down and 1 G80 barely damaged.
The 5 G80 Paveways replied with a full 1,200 air-to-air missiles each. The other 35 G80s fired their remaining 70 Helios missiles and retreated.

The ships of the first perimeter had taken a beating, nearly every ship was either damaged to some degree or another or was sunk and SAM stores were nearing 10%. Another attack would have wiped out the first perimeter but that opurtunity had come and passed, with the main fleet having moved up the normal triple teared perimeter system became one big perimeter with the main fleet directly behind it. Added to that was the fact that the MP fleet had made the mistake of spreading out its already limited offensive capability wasting it in multiple small attacks so when they finally decided to send everything they had it didn’t even match up to what had preceeded it and with the strengthening of the line it wouldn’t match up to the effects of its predecesors.
Just barely over a thousand ASM’s left the MP ships on their way to the “first” perimeter. With the distances involved it would take minutes for the missiles to cross over and reach their targets and in that time they would have to be destroyed. Almost becoming a routine targets were doled out among the ships each ship getting a certain amount of ASMs in a certain area assigned to it. From there things were further broken down to individual missiles by the ships own radars and supercomputers. All this took less than a minute and once it was done SAM batteries began shifting pointing their unshapely missile clips at the incoming horde of missiles. Again as happened so many times that day a wave of Sams reached out disappearing into the horizon as they hunted their high tech brethren, 2,500 Phoenix bow missiles ‘attacked” less than half their number of ASM’s hitting them head on. On paper the expensive fireworks show should have been enough to destroy nearly every ASM but things never happens like they were supposed to and logic some times just wasn’t good enough. As such a just over a hundred ASM’s came on heading for their quarry when another wave of SAMs this time 500 strong wiped them off the computer screens. The perimeter had survived, as much because of luck as because of the quick maneuver that had condensed the fleet.
To the south the air battle was rapidly turning against Haven, for the moment. The fighters, most of their missiles expended, prepared to flee when the massive MP missile launch was detected but before they did they let loose most of their last missiles and another 246 missiles streaked off towards the Mp planes before the fighters turned around and hit afterburners. Barely half the missiles were the long range Divinebolt varient with the range to hit the MP planes the rest being medium range missiles that would fall short barely 10 miles from the Mp air armada but they wouldn’t know that, they had no way of knowing and since they would fall short so close and well within the range that the Mp planes started firing countermeasures they would undoubtedly waste most of their remaining countermeasures on the incoming missiles, and if they didn’t then the missiles that did have the range would make them pay. The Havenite planes were safe, it was simple mathematics, they were 130mls from the MP planes that had fired at them but the Mp missiles could only make 150-175mls meaning it would be a race to see who could make the about 165 mile mark first and the Havenite fighters had the advantage. On afterburner the fighters did make the mark but they didn’t stop, they continued all the way home were they would land on the waiting carriers now preparing to send up replacements.
Below the ocean a different threat awaited the Mp planes. A sub fleet had been placed south of the fleet to protect it from Diego Garcia (I believe it was my first post) and they now did their job. With the Mp planes just behind the fleet having expended most if not all of their countermeasures they would be easy prey and quite literally it would be a turkey shoot with not only the lack of countermeasures playing a factor but simple surprise and sheer shock at missiles suddenly popping out of the ocean just a few miles behind them. Four of the five Leviathen SSGN’s had been equipped solely for the anti-aircraft role and between them they held an astonishing 1,536 SAM’s. Of course not all of them would be used in this one instance but the Mp planes had showed an extraodanary ability to defend them selves so the missile boats would be more than generous in doling out their loads. Opening up their tubes it would take just over a minute for them to finish firing and in that time 900 SAMs shot out off the ocean barely 30 miles behind the Mp planes and headed off to destroy the planes. It was doubtfull the Mp planes would even detect the missiles behind them till it was to late and if they did it was doubtfull they would engage them, they of course had to be Mp missiles because of course only Mp forces were behind them or so they though. Even if they did start engaging the missiles they had expended nearly all off their countermeasures already and with such a small reaction time they were in all ways doomed to be destroyed.

As the SAMs close in on the AN fleet, a nearly solid wall of missiles and bullets extends outwards to greet them. Even the main guns on the airships join in, pumping beehive rounds outwards to greet them.
Several dozen SAMs get through, however, and explode around the Axis Nova airships...
...doing absolutely no damage. The thick armor on the ships does it's job perfectly, and the proximity detonated warheads prove useless.
Meanwhile, the Axis Nova UAV fleet charges in at the max speed possible for the unmanned craft: Mach 2.8 for the Falcons and Mach 4.6 for the Peregrines. Both types of craft continually zip back and forth like insects, occasionally so sharply that no human could survive...
At their tremendous speed, soon the Peregrines would be in range to interfere with the MP fleet launching it's planes, and the Falcons would definitely arrive before all could be launched...

I let you get away with taking back all the antiship missiles you wasted the first time, but antiship missiles do not have the maneuvering capability neccesary for an anti-air role, and you DEFINITELY wouldn't be able to change the programming on them in just a few minutes to deal with an opponent you've never even faced before.

What the Parthians called a flight might as well have been the fighter wing of an entire colony, 650 Parthian F-78’s were coming right at the fleet in an almost suicidal charge. The fleets Cap had been severely weakened by the need to pull so many fighters south to fight off the Masspwnage strike force and because of that their were so few fighters that their was no chance of fending off the Parthian fighters. When the missiles came in the fighters over the fleet tried to get away but the Parthians had fired from such a close range in comparison to the range of their missiles that the fighters had no chance to run and they began to go down. Ironically, the missiles that were chewing thru the Havenite air squadrons had been designed by Havens closest ally, The Macabees. In the end nearly three squadrons had disappeared from the roster but the Parthians wouldn’t get away with it. Since they had fired from a mere 100 miles away they were well within the SAM envelope of the fleet including the capital ships that had moved up closer to the perimeter. The perimeter ships couldn’t afford to waste more SAMs, many of them were busy replenishing their supply after their recent engagement with the MP fleet loading up new SAMs from the fleet train that was just arriving. So instead the reserve was tapped, a Hellfire arsenal ship, its VLS tubes filled with thousands of SAMs got assigned the job of clearing the skies. Before the Parthian missiles had gone twenty miles the first Phoenix Bow SAM missiles began leaving the HNS Calco, so many SAMs left that single ship that the ship disappeared in an artificial fog bank with only the occasional burst of flame from more rising missiles to show it was still there. In the end 1,950 Phoenix Bow missiles left the VLS tubes of the Hellfire arsenal ship and flew off to earn the ship the name it held, Hellfire would be brought to the Parthian pilots. Each Parthian plane had 3 missiles coming in at it hard and it would be hard for them to escape, each missile was being fed targeting information from multiple sources from AWACs aircraft that had been to far back for the Parthians to shoot down, from the ships of the fleet who were training their massive radar and Lidar arrays on the Parthians and from their own guidance systems. The Parthians would receive a special surprise when they tried to block the radar guidance, the missiles were equipped with Lidar systems so that when the Parthians tried to use their fancy Doomingsland technology and mess with the guidance they would find that the missiles would still be coming at them.
The Parthian missiles were a different, less dangerous matter. The Parthians had gotten a bit anxious and fired from maximum range with their SS-N-19 missiles wasting one of the best advantages it held. At those ranges the SS-N-19 wouldn’t be able to sea skim and would instead have to fly high to reach their targets. Added to that disadvantage they were flying over the ASW perimeter and heading for the juicer targets in the fleets nucleus. With the ranges involved it would take a while for the missiles to get near the fleet and in that time the fleet was ready and waiting for them sending out the first wave of defense when hey were 90 miles out. Only 40 would make it to the first perimeter, usually that would be enough to cause some casualties but they flew right over the perimeter, that was their death knell. Close in defense systems fired directly at the missiles from the small perimeter ships as the missiles flew overhead, none would make it to the fleet.
The Masspwnage surrender was greeted but even so they would be watched closely. The supply ships were ordered to move in front of the CIWS ships and destroyers so that they couldn’t protect them. While that happened small ships like gunboats and PT boats moved into the convoy and started landing marines on the warships. The marines were to take anybody who wasn’t involved in keeping the engine working or driving the ship under arrest, that meant radar operators, janitors, doctors everyone. They were to be taken back to the Havenite fleet and put into empty supply ships. While on board they were to disable all air defense systems on board, this was to happen on the CIWS ships and destroyers. This would all happen as the fleet moved west as fast as possible and the MP convoy was to follow behind it keeping the same distance they had now, any ship that tried to flee or didn’t follow orders would be blown out of the water.

Noticing the MassPwnage fleet's surrender, the Axis Nova UAVs begin unopposed gun runs on the carriers, and the main fleet flies within gun range, sending down a holocaust of linear gun shells, missiles, and bombs of all types upon the defenseless fleet.

The Axis Nova barrage was fruitless in the extreme for the Pwnage forces had simply IGNORED Axis Nova's idiotic technology.
The Parthians
13-04-2005, 22:56
The Parthians would receive a special surprise when they tried to block the radar guidance, the missiles were equipped with Lidar systems so that when the Parthians tried to use their fancy Doomingsland technology and mess with the guidance they would find that the missiles would still be coming at them.
.
The Parthian pilots sailed towards the fleet, unaware until the warning lights came on and the planes countermeasure systems came online. A small radar dome underneath the aircraft tried to locate the incoming radar pulses of a radar-guided missile, it then began to fire off its own radar pulses at a certain frequency determined by the missile guidance system. Typically, the missile guidance would be confused and believe the weapons reached their target, and making them explode. Now, with the LIDAR systems working against this technology so effective against more typical missiles, the Parthian planes had no choice but to try and run, since LIDAR is limited to the horizon and getting far enough could cause LIDAR to cease functioning. However, as the missiles grew closer and closer, a more effective countermeasure came online, as beams of microwaves fired out towards the oncoming missiles, frying the electronics and sending them crashing into the seas below. Fifty five planes were however, attacked by so many missiles, that they simply exploded as the missiles tore into them. Those who survived now turned back on the fleet, unleashing a barrage of 75 ASMs while another volley was prepared.

I only have complaints about the ridiculous numbers he claims, chief, not the ships themselves, except for that carrier that holds 1200 aircraft. (his method of propelling shells outwards is dubious at best, but I digress...)

The two MP ASW groups hunting for the sub fleet in the Indian now became prime targets for the fleet. Each just 30 ships strong they were asking to be hit and hit hard. They would be first hit from the air, a different missile would be broken out to engage the Masspwnage ships, the Principe III. Launching 300 of them, 5 per ship, they headed out from the Havenite ships. Once they were 100 nm away from their targets a wall of jamming would go up to disrupt any radar locks and throw off any radar guided SAMs, though it would only take a few seconds for the MP ships to burn through the jamming that was all that was needed. When they were 75nm away they dropped down dropping their real cargoes, a MT-2 torpedo. The torpedoes hit the water before shooting off making turns for 120knots so they retained the ability to maneuver but still would hit hard. It wasn’t expected that they would destroy the two groups by themselves but with so many of them it was expected they would weaken the two groups enough for the next stage.
The Parthians came back again, the SAMs not having done the job expected. The new Parthian missiles were dealt with like the ones that came before but this time losses were taken, the HNS Nalma took a hit to the superstructure, it would survive but it was listing to port and had taken horrendous damage. The SAMs the fleet had expended were just now getting replenished as the first re-supply convoy arrived and immediately started loading up the destroyers and perimeter ships with SAM’s and SAAM’s. They wouldn’t just throw missiles at the Parthian aircraft though, another weapon would be used. Tracking the closest Parthian fighter a cruiser directed its power to one of its newer AA weapons, the Mil-5 laser. The naval copy cat of the armies Celtic air defense system it wasn’t used much because it took a lot of power but it was used now and laser ripped off the bigger ships tracking Parthian fighters who wouldn’t receive any warning as their wasn’t anything for their radars to track. They wouldn’t also receive a SAM load and another 900 Phoenix Bow SAM’s rose up to try to destroy or drive off the Parthian fighters.
Now it was time to do the same to the Parthian fleet. Safehaven2 didn’t want war with Parthia but Parthia had attacked and Haven followed a simple motto, Nemo me impune lacessit, if you attacked Haven, Haven hit you back. Up to now the only time that ASMs had been used was the recent firing of three hundred Principe III missiles at the MP ASW groups so because of that ASM missile stockpiles were full. Now the ships of the fleet opened up their own VLS and VLT tubes, the missile “clips” inside revolving to chamber a new missile. The Parthians were now just about four hundred nautical miles away putting them well in range of a number of weapons. The fleet began lighting off setting off a tirade as hundreds of missiles began lifting themselves up into the air. In just a few minutes the ASM stockpile was well below being full unlike the skies above it. Hitting speeds of mach 5 they began eating away at the distance between the two fleet quickly. 3,000 Fasthawk II missiles and 600 Principe III missiles were heading straight at the Parthians. They were all targeting the cruisers and frigates on the perimeter of the Parthian fleet meaning that they wouldn’t be able to get support from the close in defense systems of the destroyers and capital ships behind them. Once 75 miles away the Principes dropped down cutting back their speed rapidly before breaking the capsule and deploying a chute to slow the cargo down even more. An MT-2 torpedo would come out of each Principe and each would head off at the Parthian fleet at over a hundred knots. They were meant to hit the frigates and cruiser but if any of them got a whiff of the Parthian submarines in front of the fleet they would hit them to though the grand majority would hit the ships. Overhead the FastHawk II missiles would screech in at mach 5+, at those speeds CIWS systems were nothing but a speed bump. At those speeds a CIWS gun could only engage one missile, two if it was EXTEMLY lucky because the missiles were coming in so fast that by the time the CIWS gun turned to engage the next one it would already be hitting the ship. The FastHawk II mod Bravo had a warhead half the size of the Alpha but it exchanged that space for a massive Iridium/Osmium 'spear'
It was time to get things moving. Namibia had been invested nearly two months before and was now fully in Havenite control. An insurgency was brewing up but for the most part it hadn’t developed enough yet to be recognized as a true threat just yet. Sporadic, uncoordinated instances marked the Namibian resistance movements which, except for the odd ex-military group, were conducted by “patriotic” men who were barely old enough a lot of times to need to shave. Over time the resistance would probably develop into a more sophisticated movement and take hundreds if not thousands of Havenite lives to put down it would never be able to force the Havenite military out as long as they had support from back home. Now it was time to move on, Namibia had been a nice stay, a place to catch up on desert warfare techniques and get some R&R time in. The once grand Republic of South Africa was up next to bat.
The Republic of South Africa, RSA, looked more like Lebanon did in the 80’s than the resource rich, powerful country it was. It wasn’t their fault, not in the least, who could blame them for living on a tract of land the whole world wanted? Maybe now they blamed themselves, or G-d after what they’d gone thru. After the fall of the twin Fabusian regimes, first VE then Kahta leaving behind them a void that was soon filled. In the last few weeks a list of nations, each and every one of them big enough to make the old Kahtan regime pale in comparisen, had risen up to the challenge trying to fill that void and grab some land for themselves. MassPwnage, Nova Hope, Sevaris, Rouch-Busters, Borman Empire, Doomingsland and more had attacked South Africa in a timeframe of just a few weeks. In a way this had been a blessing, most of the best South African units and equipment had been taken out by these other nations and what was left of the South African army was busy trying to find a way to fight back. The northern portion of the country, the part facing now Havenite Namibia, had been stripped of men and resources and was ripe to be taken. There were only two real threats out there that stood a chance of stopping the Havenite armies from taking South Africa for Haven, Masspwnage and Nova Hope. MassPwnage had significant forces on the ground already advancing into the countries interior but they now had a severe problem, they had lost all their resuply with the surrender of the MASSIVE supply convoy in the Indian. Over a trillion dollars in equipment and supplies had fallen into Havenite hands, probably more. Over one thousand ships laden to the brim with the supplies that kept an armies gears running smoothly were now flying the Havenite flag and the cargo they held inside go a long way towards keeping supply dumps in Africa overflowing for a while. Without that convoy the MassPwnage army and navy wouldn’t be able to continue fighting and unless they got more supplies soon they would be effectively sitting ducks. Nova Hope was a different story but they would have to wait.
The invasion had to be quick. The key was to get as much territory behind the invasion units as possible before the other nations gobbled up more land. That objective would be helped by the lack of enemy units on the ground near Namibia. To further this light infantry units would be leapfrogged forward via helicopters and airdrops to form human bridges to speed up the advance. It would be a bit risky but the military was hitting the peak of a high that had been building up after some recent victories and they believed they could do almost anything.
Looking out across the border the tankers revved up their tanks and wondered what the hell was so important about South Africa. A hundred yards over Major General Vicente Ortiz, commander of the 3rd armored brigade was climbing into his own M-88 Badger MBT. He was a commander who liked to command from the front despite the thoughts of the people further up the chain of command. Today he would lead his men again as his tank was the first to cross over into RSA just east of this tiny little city called Aroab.

The coming weeks had been good to the Pwnage forces. They had advanced rapidly through large areas of the country.
Large swathes of SA were burned out and totally denuded of life. Almost every coastal city was totally ruined. Pwnage forces had recently taken Pretoria and Cape Town as well.
Now, all that was left that was unscarred by war was the stretch of land between Port Nolloth and Calvinia.
Then the order came.
"Come home, we're withdrawing. But before you leave, plant as many landmines as you can through the major routes of expected Havenite advance."

A new message was relayed out to the Parthian fleet: "Pull out now, repeat, pull out and use all necessary measures to prevent damage." The planes were the first to shoot off, running back towards the fleet. A few were hit, but the majority were off, covering the fleet while the others turned around in one massive motion, firing off several hundred EMP weapons as they turned, each one capable of a large blast diameter where all electronics would be fried. Missiles and torpedoes simply stopped moving as Parthian EMPs burst around them, still as they were a few hundred miles out. Missiles crashed into the sea and torpedo carrying missiles simply did the same, only fifty missiles continued to fly forward, and then, met by a barrage of SM-2s. By the end, only two ships had been hit lightly by missiles.

Boom!
Godamnit! Another one! Ortiz stood up and watched as the thin skinned IFV leading the column had its front shoot up into the air and then slammed back down throwing its cargo around like toys. Almost immediately the hatches shot open and the rear door dropped and out filed the passengers and crew dragging two men behind them. The one was dead, killed immediately when the mine detonated under his seat, the other was a private who was thrown up and slammed into the roof getting a severe concussion and passing out. MassPwnage hadn’t stood and fought instead leaving behind thousands of mines. The roads leading west were stricken with burning carcasses’ of once proud vehicles taken out by the mines. It wouldn’t stop the advance, not even slow it down much but it was a nuisance, one that was costing lives. The column kept moving going around the dead IFV before continuing down the road to the Pacific Ocean. Up ahead a M-88 Badger took the place of the IFV equipped with flailing chains to detonate any mine in its way.
The advance was going extremely well, it was the third day and they were over two hundred miles into South Africa. Some columns were closer to two-fifty. Even with the mines casualties were much lower then the expected thousands, Masspwnage didn’t seem to want to continue fighting and had pulled out leaving South Africa up for grabs. Looking back down at the documents in front of him Ortiz tried to coordinate his brigade from the insides of a moving IFV turned command vehicle. Things really are looking up. Smiling he signed the orders granting his third regiment to enter Douglas. In a week they would be swimming in the Indian.
