Pheanixian Caribbean Headquarters, Province of Puerto Rico

It was a rather peaceful night for the civilians on the island, most of them were sleep in their comfy beds, other were out partying in the many clubs located in the metropolitan area. It was another normal night for the residents of the beautiful island paradise. But not everything is always what it seems, although the civilians were going about their normal routines the military bases around the island were busy with activities preparing for the next step in the Pheanixian plan for conquering the Caribbean.

Rear Admiral James and General Gonzalez were busy coordinating their respective forces, one needing the other to succeed. Both along with a dozen or so strategists and planners were trying to figure out what was the best route to approach the islands of Aruba and Montserrat. The planner were divided between two equally plausible and successful strategists, the first one was to bombard the hell out the smalls islands eradicating any type of resistance and breaking their spirit at the same time. The other one was to bombard them with the naval forces but just attacking the military and governmental structures, not wanting to rebuild the whole infrastructure of the island. The naval forces still had to be use to ferry the ground forces over to the islands so the Admiral and the General decided on the latter, it was both cost-effective decision as they avoided wasting hundreds of thousands of gallons of fuel on air raids and the like, although that didn’t rule out the use of island base bombers or aircrafts.

The order for mobilization was given in under an hour as the planner’s iron out some minor details on the plan. The divisions had already been chosen as well as the naval forces that were going to participate in this engagement, the 14th and 78th Marine Division and the 189th and 345th Amphibious Carrier Groups. The commanders of each force were given their orders, and as such they were recalling their men and canceling shore leaves to everyone. The forces should be ready in a day or so, at least the ground forces as their equipment was already on sight and only needed to be pick up. The naval forces were almost facing the same circumstances, with the exception that there tankers and supply ships were being refitted with a stronger hull to survive longer in a hostile environment.

Still Island Command wanted to get this over as quickly as possible so they gave the order to deploy in 48 hours, hoping it was ample time for the refitting crews to finish their work. Nonetheless the Admiral sent two sub squadrons to each island, a mix of Sea Wolf and Los Angeles Class submarines, tasked with clearing the water of enemy vessels and deploy a SpecOps team to each island. The fight for the Caribbean was about to begin.

The submarines sent to the would be colonies arrived silently at their respective destinations, taking position around the islands to get a better view of their targets. Their mission was to attack the islands naval forces, but mother nature had a rather good job so far as the old and rust ridden cruisers anchored in the harbor of Aruba and the lone outdated battleship in Montserrat were just a hair away from sinking on their own. Still they needed to be sunk as no matter how old or rusty they were, their weapons still fired a deadly barrage.

Back on the island the two Amphibious Carrier Groups were finally ready to leave, just as the sun was setting. This was going to be quiet a surprise for the people of Aruba and Montserrat, as they will soon be awakened to the sounds of war.

Amphibious Carrier Groups 189th:
On the bridge of the Nimitz Captain Hernandez stood giving out orders for the rest of the ACG ships, maintaining a tight leash on all of his officers. He was a rather up tight person always wanting more from everyone under his command, especially during an operation like this. Many despised the Captain for his ways but High Command liked him as he always got the job done, although his was were sometimes rather unconventional. But for this operation he had strict orders of just securing the island as it would become a colony of the Pheanixian Commonwealth and High Command wanted it usable in the near future. It would be another 3 hours before the ACG arrived at their destination.

Amphibious Carrier Group 345th:

Captain Cruz was in command of this ACG, a rather carefree person but strict when it came to his command, a reliable commander and one liked by his forces, but a deadly opponent to face. This would be his third conflict and second acting as commander so he was still proving his worth to his commanders. His troops were preparing for the coming battle, as their trip was a rather short one compared to the other force, only of about two and halve hours. The AWACS was already in the air monitoring the skies as well as two F-35 flying escort, soon the aierial bombardment would begin.
