The Empire Expands: Morocco (Earth TR)
OOC: On ETR, I've got Ireland and Great Britain. The capital is Dublin. Military forte is the navy.
IC:
Morocco... A nation between the Western Sahara and Algeria. It borders the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, and influences the Strait of Gibraltar. Its size is 446,500 square kilometers, and it is home to approximately 32,000,000 people. The majority of the people currently live in poor and chaotic conditions due to the entire lack of a governing authority.
It is soon to become a sovreign state of the Grand Imperium of Risban.
Earlier today, the Third and Eight Fleets (stats coming later tonight), along with a carrier fleet and dozens of transports carrying several hundred thousand soldiers, disembarked from southern ports in Ireland and England. They slowly made their way down the Atlantic Ocean, approaching the northwestern coast of Africa.
Just outside of Osean territorial waters around Portugal and Spain, the Imperium made sure to alert Truitt of this beforehand. While unconfirmed, there are rumors that the leaders of Truitt and Risban struck up some kind of deal.
Traveling with the invasion fleet are 240,600 footsoldiers, 34,000 marines, and several heavy-duty vehicles. (Again, I'll have stats up later.)
Mission: Invade the chaotic nation of Morocco and established a Risban Imperial order. With the former government of Morocco gone and the national army nonexistent, the initial invasion should not be difficult. With the strength of the Imperial Navy, the coasts will fall easily. The Grand Imperium suspects that the most trouble will come from ragtag groups of insurgents and rebel armies that will band together during this invasion. The Emperor is fairly certain that the conflict will not last longer than several weeks.
Currently, the invasion fleet is near southern Portugal, slowly approaching Morocco.
((Sorry for the short post. I don't have a lot of time, and all of my stats are on a different computer. I'll make it look better later. heh))

The Imperial Fleets have now blockaded the nation of Morocco and are bombarding their coastal defences. The enemy is reported to have a mere 3 battleships of an older style with them. They have yet to be found or intercepted.

Would anyone mind playing one of the Moroccan defence groups? They're basically ragtag insurgents led by possible former military officers. You can even have control of their small navy! Heh.

That would be fine with me, but Risban will need to OK your help and my
RP for that matter as he hasn't answered my post offering to RP it for him
yet and I have no idea how much of a defense he wants. His Navy looks to
me like it could make very short work of the forces Morocco would be able to
muster alone.
Risban if you are interested in giving the Rebels a better chance I would be
willing to donate ships from my mothball fleet just to make it more interesting
or we can go with the original three battleships. However you wish to do it.

Navies are limited to water. Its the marines Air force and army you have to worry about. Give up the coastal plains and attack once your out from under the navies guns.
OOC:
Hammers Slammers- Sorry, but only people on Earth TR can RP in this thread. ;) Thankyou for the interest, though.
Kormanthor- That's all very well, but in ETR, unclaimed countries are often considered chaotic anarchies. Thus, as said in the first post, there is no money for the military, nor any military for that reason. There's no government.
The majority of the people currently live in poor and chaotic conditions due to the entire lack of a governing authority.
As I said: mostly, there are ragtag bands of insurgents with unregistered guns, most likely old AK-47s for the majority of them. However, there probably can be a lot of them depending on how you want to RP the Moroccans: Some willing to submit to a new governing force while some still oppose, or total opposal and fighting against the decent-sized fleet floating in the water there. If you choose full opposition, I would recommend something like the falling:
Several groups with names similar to the "Moroccan Liberation Army" or the "Moroccan Freedom Fighters" or something like that, each not numbering more than 250,000 people. A maximum of 10 groups like this.
As for your offer to bring in extra things for the Moroccans- Again, only on ETR may one send aid from their nation.
Without a government, there isn't much order nor money to keep up a navy. Thus, there are only three ships. You can have them under the strongest force's control. Mostly, the resistance will be the defence barricading themselves in cities/mountains and/or launching guerilla attacks on the Risbanian forces.
Thanks.
EDIT:
I just noticed that you applied to join ETR. Heh. In that case, you can send aid to the Moroccans from your nation, but then there'd be a whole big war starting, and you'd have to watch out for Truitt, because any major wars in northern Africa will be sure to alarm him. And I don't really feel like starting a major war just a few days after ETR was created. Lol. As you'll notice, I'm abysmal when it comes to military RPs.
However, if ya want to, your nation can help the Moroccan resistance. It just means I need to draw up more stats.

Thats OK I don't wish to start a major war. I will RP the rebels with only 3 battleships and ten rebel armies of 250,000 each. My choice would be the Iowa Class Battleship if this is a Modern Era Only Thread. They were first commissioned in the 1940's and then recommissioned in the 1980's. Each of these ships can carry a helicopter and the Pioneer RPV system. I would " like " to have a Sea Hawk for each ship.
HH-60H Seahawk
Description: The HH-60H Seahawk is a twin-engine helicopter used by the Navy in a CSAR/SOS role. Based on the SH-60 airframe (The Naval variant of the basic S-60 Blackhawk utility helicopter) the HH-60H has been optimized for low level insertions and extractions, self defense, enemy small arms fire suppression, and bulk cargo and troop transport. The H variant is also equipped with an externally mounted hoist and is configured for low level night operations with Night Vision Goggle (NVG) compatible instruments and anti-collision aircraft running lights. The HH-60H is capable of transporting a 6,000 pound load externally, and it's gross carrying capacity is rated at 7,400 pounds

Are you using that entire fleet for this invasion? Do I get land based aircraft?

Also, can you post a response to the Risbani fleets bombarding the beaches? They're wiping out any defences on the beaches and coasts before deploying troops. ;)

Several transports, escorted by three Type 22 Frigates, have departed from England to sail towards Morocco, carrying an extra 130,000 infantry. Meanwhile, a steady line of ships have formed between the Isles and Morocco to keep a steady line of food and supplies going between the homeland and the invasion fleet.
Imperial Telegram to the KEKC and the OMA
The Grand Imperium of Risban realizes that you do not want us to take-over your nation, but we also realize that you do not wnat needless killing. You live in a land where militant groups go about killing eachother for power. Even against Risban do some of you still fight amongst yourselves. Thus, we propose the following to the KEKC and the OMA:
1. You join Risban and aid us in halting the other rebel groups and establishing a firm and solid order in Morocco
2. In result, once Risban has taken over Morocco, all people in the KEKC and the OMA will become official soldiers in the Imperial Army and enjoy all of their benefits.
3. Any Moroccan who does not kill our troops will become official Imperial citizens, enjoying all of the same benefits that they do and becoming wealthy. Also, with Risban's ties in the European Trade Union, Morocco would be sure to benefit.
If you have any terms and conditions, please state them.

Yes folks it seems that Morocco is on the verge of being invaded once again. Dino De Laurentis, owner of Cinecitta Movie Studios in Ouarzazate spoke to this reporter earlier saying that he had used his influence to sway public & rebel opinion towards cooperating with Grand Admiral Tarda but only succeeded with the KEKC and the OMA. We also intercepted this return message from a spokes man of the other eight Moroccan Rebel Groups.
On a burning stretch of dark, featureless sand, miles from any major cities, and under temperatures as high as 122 degrees Fahrenheit, eight armies prepare for war.
On one side are 2,000,000 armed conscripts, drafted from coastal cities and temperate mountain valleys, wait behind a huge, fortified wall. The wall runs for nearly 800 miles, surrounded by razor wire, mine fields, and forts full of freedom fighters who wait for the Great Satan to arrive.
We will now return you to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress.

Assalam Allikom & Al-Mamlakah al-Maghribiyah was flying patrol under radar in his trusty Arado Ar 196 for the M.R.S. Qwisnark their rebel groups battleship. They had been patrolling now for over two hours and would soon have to start back because they was nearing their point of no return.
http://usera.imagecave.com/Kormanthor/Quintaview-Cabo.jpg
Because of this Assalam decided to set it down behind Qwinta Point so he could get a birds eye view from flying his gasoline powered airplane with a small camera in the nose. This way he could stay on point longer and have less of a chance of being discovered by the Imperium Fleet. Finally after a couple hours of fruitless but fun flying his mini spy in the air suddenly spotted the enemy fleet steaming southward towards Morocco. He then landed his little air born spy then took off in his Arado Ar 196 staying below radar as he used his satellite capable cell phone to make the call to warn his ship of the enemies location while Al-Mamlakah manned the machine gun just in case.

RIS Antares
The Imperial Third Fleet- Antares Fleet
Admiral Andrew McFinnin smirked as they received word of an enemy ship approaching. These Moroccans were brave... Stupid, but brave nonetheless. He put the fleets on yellow alert and informed Imperial Command of the situation. McFinnin wasn't worried; Antares Fleet alone held over 40 vessels. One ship would not cause great damage.
Meanwhile, he also gave the order to commence with the bombardment of Rabat.
The Moroccan Coast
Meanwhile, not a single Risbanian soldier has landed yet. No, the Grand Imperium's fleet was making sure they would have no trouble on the beaches. They were repeatedly bombarding the beaches, wiping out anything that may be on them. Artillery and machine gun fire from the naval ships were continuous. Not only were the Imperial Fleets destroying the beaches' defences, but they were playing psychological games with anyone who lived even mile and miles away from the beaches. The never-ending explosions were enough to drive some people mad.
The fleets slowly positioned themselves near the coastal cities.
Imperial Telegram to the KEKC and OMA
We are bombarding the beaches right now and wiping out any and all defences. Landing of our troops is iminent. Once the marines and infantry have landed, we will set up bases and slowly move forward, launching several air raids as well.
The fleets are now moving towards Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Tarfaya, Safi, and Mohamdedia. We shall need help taking Rabat and Casablanca. The KEKC shall move their soldiers towards Rabat, while the OMA aids us at Casablanca.
-Grand Admiral Tarda
Grand Admiral Eric Tarda grinned inwardly. Morocco would fall within a few weeks. Their capital and their largest cities were right on the coast. The fleets could take them easily.
Meanwhile, with all of the rebel armies busy defending Morocco, the Moroccan-claimed Western Sahara was defenseless. Tarda sent a suggestion to Dublin about claiming that bit of land as well.

OOC: Lol, Komanthor. Under conditions in which I don't feel like it or am in a bad mood, I'd stamp a nice big IGNORE on that past. After all, you managed to sail between Britain and Ireland (both of which I own), somehow slip by every single ship in my navy, evade my radar and satellites, ignore my land defences, and then sail up a nice littler river to bomb Dublin. And to get into that river you had to pass by Dublin Bay and the naval bases present. And then, of course, there are air defences as well...
But, no hard feelings.
As for where Imperial Ships are, seeing as Risban is the strongest naval power on ETR right now, you can safely say that they're everywhere. Lol.
So, I've decided to take it as you're giving the Imperium some free ships to add to their navy. ;)
Now, I'm going to wrap this up.
IC:
Dublin Bay, Ireland- The Emperor's Private Fleet (The Imperial First Fleet)
"You're kidding!" said Grand Admiral Eric Tarda. "How on earth do Moroccans have the technology to slip by every ship here? Nevermind it. Activate some of the few thousand marines in Dublin and board the ships. Use subs to demobolize them. Activate anti-air defences.
Several Suffren-Class Air-Defense Destroyers deploy, seeking to engage enemy aircraft.
Meanwhile, the Boru Naval Base on Dublin Bay launched some fifty F-14 Tomcats to go intercept the Moroccan forces flying around Dublin. It did not take them very long. With aid from the ground and the sea, every enemy aircraft was shot down within twenty-seven minutes.
Meanwhile, in Dublin Habour, four Emer Class and one Roisin Class Patrol Vessels approached the Moroccan ships, firing with deadly precision on their large guns. Ten Sea Knight Helicopters departed from an air base in Dublin, approaching the enemy ships and trying to take out their defenses. A seawolf sub approached from beneath, firing two missiles into the side of the Qwisnark and instantly demobilizing it.
Meanwhile, eight CHX-182 helicopters approached the enemy ships, holding armed marines. They boarded the now-surrounded and crippled enemy vessels, quickly moving through the ships and compromising the crews.
At the end of the day, Risban lost four people and ended up with three new battleships.
Morocco
Their only navy was destroyed. Their major cities were being bombarded by a powerful navy. Their armies were being wiped out by the two that Risban had hired and the ships shooting their camps on the beaches.
And Risban had not yet even unleashed its army or airforce.
After destroying every coastal defense, the assault ships and landing craft departed from the fleets, releasing the several hundred thousand Imperial soldiers onto the Moroccan coast.
City after city fell, along with several small islands. Tarfaya, Agadir, Safi, El Jadida, Melilla, Mohameddia, Ceuta, Tetouan, Tangier, Kenitra, and Casablanca. After the heavy bombarding, it took Imperial forces only two days to succesfully capture Rabat.
They quickly settled into the newly-occupied coast, preparing to move farther inland. One week after Rabat fell, Fes, Meknes, Marrakech, and Oujda had fallen. Four days after that, Quarzazat fell. Rebel troops barricaded themselves inside Bou Arfa. Imperial forces laid seige to the city for two more weeks before finally managing to take it.
Moroccan was now part of the Grand Imperium.

Definition of Godmoding
1) Saying what happens to other people's stuff.
2) Refusing to take any losses. Or lose. Ever.
3) Having übertech armies that are too large, etc.
4) Having your nation’s geography to your extreme advantage.
