Lexustralany And Tecrojian At War
Lexustralany

Preface
"To restore original glory, one must prove its worth," said General Stalin.
"And How do you propose to restore Tecrojia's original glory, General?" said Lugtan Erfae, Communist Ruler of Tecrojia.
"Lexustralany's downfall will make an excellent impact, my Liege," answered General Stalin.
Lugtan Erfae let out a sinister laugh, which could chill the spine of any man. His smirk gave away his thoughts on the invasion and he quickly ordered Stalin to make good on his duties.
RP Description (Skip if you want to read the story):
This thread is primarily for the war between Lexustralany and Tecrojia. Both nations have agreed to RP and exchange information of each nation's landscape, economy, major cities, and will continue to do so to provide a valid story for a war. If at any time you should feel the need to want to become involved in the war we request that you also invite an additional nation to oppose you, in order to keep some balance. This will create a more entertaining war story. Also, there is a language issue. Swearing needs to be partially censored.
And don't come in here and say "Surrender now or we'll kick both of your asses!" because it WILL be ignored. Especially if you can't rp if your life depended on it.
We don't want others come to this thread and complaining about the foul language, so keep it mild and if you use it, censor it (ig: motherf***er) Lastly, this story was constructed the way it is for a reason. First paragraph gives the reader an idea of what is going on. The second section gives the reader an idea of how the soldier/s felt about the situation at hand (optional). And the third section is a short story of what happened during a particular time in the war. Keep the colors solid. Blue will be for the story and translations. Any other color, other than black, will be used if another language is being used. Please use black if you're OOC. If you have another language that you'd like to use, please translate for us. Thank you, and enjoy the story before you.

Thousands of troops from across the nation are stationed in one of the largest bases in Tecrojia. Not only is this one of the largest bases, it is one of the most strict military bases on the face of the planet. The finest of the Tecrojian Infantry train constantly to prepare for whatever may come their way, but not even their training could prepare them for the anguish they would soon have to endure. The lives of the men and women of Tecrojian Imperial Army would never be the same again.
Quotes from interviews:
“Ji regundan dir tavaska vhen ve kurr vekkd gun Andgriegon. Dir cunradat des zankoon du cald truts… oon ju di. Zee duld gevor nedg di zitto devotat. Ji dent zee fuld beh je cunradat ju teht ervi…” said Private Georges Coomblovf of the 22nd Imperial Army, Master Company.
(“I remember our training when we were based in Andyrei. Our commander was someone you could trust… one of us. He would never lead us into defeat. I think he should be the commander of the army…”)
“Ji dent ve duld zankt lan devotatd gi je Lechuzanias Rozal Ervi ukven dir futreya. Game ju dir cuvas kurr hund don vhen vi kurr jacetas teht bejtes. Jo dir cunradats macd nia vekertondires, vi duld beh akitad,” said Lance Corporal Johannes Stalivach of the 22nd Imperial Army, Master Company.
(“I think we would been defeated by the Lexustralian Royal Army upon our entry. Many of our friends were gunned down when we were taking the defenses. If our commanders made no preparations, we would be dead.”)
Andyrei
A jeep pulled up to the barracks of the 22nd Imperial Army, Master Company. Water rolled off of the black jeep as it coame to a stop. Out came a large man in uniform. He was about 6’4” and looked to be about 102.06 kilos of muscle. His jacket was decorated with medals and badges he had earned and the left sleeve of his jacket bore the marks of a general. As the general, and two other soldiers with him, made their way through the barracks soldiers saluted.
“Who’s that?” asked Private Andrei.
“That’s General Stalin. He never comes around unless something big is about to happen. They say that he’s the guy behind all of THIS,” replied Corporal Hector, “And they also say that he was one of them army tough guys back in his prime.”
“WHO ARE THESE TWO!” yelled Captain Stukov.
Captain Stukov stood at 6’5” and had a brooding build, which made the average man cower before him. He loomed over Stukov and Andrei and glared at them, waiting for his reply from the company’s executive officer.
“Private Andrei Meldonov and Corporal Hector Coramin, sir!” replied Lieutenant Veramovf.
“And WHY are they TALKING?” demanded Captain Stukov.
“No excuse, sir!”
“Were these two men given permission to speak freely, Lieutenant!”
“No they were not, sir!”
“Then why are they talking?”
“No excuse, sir!”
“Talking out of line and disobeying a direct order to stand in SILENCE! Your weekend passes are revoked!”
Captain Stukov moved down the line to inspect every soldier in Master Company. One-by-one he picked someone out and pointed out their flaws. Stukov, looking irate, paced over to Lieutenant Veramovf and looked at him. Then he looked at the company. “Lieutenant, tell me why your men are ALWAYS stepping OUT OF LINE!”
“No excuse, sir!”
“Do you hear that, men?” yelled Stukov, “There is no excuse for any of you to be out of line! Yet, it seems that all of you like to get carried away and disobey! How the f***ing hell do you expect to fight an enemy when you have no DISCIPLINE? Squad, tell me who you are!”
“Master Company of the 22nd Imperial Army, sir!” they all shouted together.
“NO YOU ARE NOT! You are NOT Master Company! You are not Beta Company! You are not DELTA company… YOU ARE MAGGOT COMPANY! Until you can show me that you have discipline and grow a pair, you will NEVER be Master Company. DO YOU GET ME!” Stukov yelled with great vive. “WE GET YOU, SIR!” replied Master Company.
“Alright, then… SHOW ME! You’ve got Oligov today! Lieutenant, take them up!”
“Sir, yes sir! Seven miles up, two miles around, seven miles down!” exclaimed Veramovf, “Maggot Company… Show me what you’re made of! Oligov, let’s move!”
Off Master Company went. Their run was from the barracks to the top of the Oligov Hill, around the summit, and then back down to the barracks, where they would complete a list of training exercises. And up the hill they ran. The sixteen-mile run was only the beginning of their day. After the run, they began their obstacle courses and weapons training. Lunch only consisted of one serving of warm food and a round of water. After their lunch, they went back to their training. This was just another day in Andyrei.

The fleets and mechs are all prepped and ready to go. It’s just a matter of time before the Imperial Army is completely ready to mobilize. The twelve thousand troops from Andyrei, including Master Company, are currently being briefed of their newly given task. What they are hearing is not the easiest of news to take to heart, but must be accepted as quickly as possible. The faces on the men and women seem to be confused an slightly disappointed. It’s just a few days away, now, that they’ll have to face their fate head-to-head.
Quotes from interviews:
“Te ivo vi kurr kaboot te zarat e war vif ang acomatelia juganja macd di letti. Lechuzania das e datial nemblad gi Gudo. Oon cuzut jultz gun end plecad viffiey! Nia ervi cald,” said Private Staflin of the 22nd Imperial Army, Master Company.
(“To know we were about to start a war with an economic giant made us worry. Lexustralany is a nation blessed by God. One doesn’t Waltz in and declare victory! No army could.”)
“Ji dent dir tavaska vekertond di cichimi. Jo vi kurr te zankt oon-va yaotzun, vi duld zankt lan pamfroshd…” said Corporal Coramin of the 22nd Imperial Army, Master Company.
(“I think our training prepared us little. If we were to have eleven thousand, we would have been smashed.”)
Night Excursion
“So, she says to me ‘Whattaya want, you doof?’ and said to her that I wanted her in my bed right now! Now here’s the real kicker,” said Sergeant Ivan Zhigatch, “She looks at me with her BIG, beautiful green eyes and smiles. Now, I’m fired up and thinkin’ hey… this dumb broad’s actually going for it. And then BAM! I had a size 9 in my groin…”
Private Gurlukovich and Private Staflin started to laugh aloud, uncontrollably. Sergeant Zhigatch was also laughing at the story. They continued to talk about their past experiences with women as they made their way to the rendezvous. The rest of Master Company, along with twelve thousand other men were gearing up and loading onto the transports. As they approached their respected transports Lieutenant Veramovf greeted them.
“How’s it going, guys?” asked Veramovf.
“Well, if junior heals up in two hours I’ll be the best soldier on the field!” Zhigatch joked.
“Assuming junior heals up at all,” Veramovf joked back, “Well… This is what we’ve trained for. We’re the top company in the 22nd. It’s an honor to serve with you.”
Gurlukovich, Staflin, and Zhigatch nodded and saluted their lieutenant before boarding their transports.
The loud turbines of the airborne transports roared through the base and the powerful engines of the ships could be felt and heard all around. Friends took their final moments to look at each other as many of them were separated from each other on their transports. And this wasn’t just their final look of the day… for many, it would be the final time they’d see their friends. This wasn’t another training exercise in Andyrei. This was much bigger than that. This was war…

It was on March 15th that the Tecrojian Imperial Navy set sail on a voyage that would settle in the hearts and minds of millions. Only thousands would partake in the events of March 15th, but it would be an event felt globally. One million Imperial Troops would be embarking on one of the largest invasions to date. And though such a large force has been mobilized not a single man, woman or child knew of the events which have taken place… not until they’ve already made their mark in history.
Operation Abrasion
All throughout the land, the air raid sirens could be heard. And though the sirens went off and the people fled, there wasn’t a single thing that could be done. Coast guard was no match for the mighty Tecrojian Navy. After the coast guard, there would be no defense stopping the landing of the Imperial Army upon the unguarded city of Rom-Hanaweth.
The battleships of the Imperial Navy hammered the city as the airborne made its way deep inland. A few of the skyscrapers crumbled into large mounds of rubble and debris, making room for the aerial drops.
The 88th Airborne Division began their jumps into Rom-Hanaweth without the fear of being hit by anti-air flack. More troops began to pour onto the docks from the landing crafts by sea. As the Imperial Armies flooded the helpless city, armored vehicles began to make their way onto land. FA-28’s and SE-177’s began to prowl through the streets with hoards of infantry behind them.
But suddenly, to the disliking of the Tecrojians, several uncharted towers began to emerge from the nearby hills. Missile turrets… So, they weren’t undefended after all. Rockets and missiles began to spew out of the towers like rain from a sky filled with clouds. Turrets on the edges of the harbors revealed themselves and unleashed a barrage of torpedoes.
”Good Lord in Heaven, what have we done?” said Private Andrei, while watching from an incoming cruiser, “Everything was going fine and… no, no, no… this can’t be happening.”
Ship after ship took direct and indirect hits from the projectiles. Rockets even unleashed their wrath upon the troops who had already made it onto land. And from that very same hill opened a large hangar, which was made to blend in with the hillside… Not a single person knew about it. Five fighters emerged, along with an avalanche of soldiers. From the flagship, it seemed that at least two thousand troops were stationed there, and not only were they stationed there… they were heading toward the scattered airborne.
The fighters from the hangar flew overhead and attacked the sea vessels and several of the airships. The anti-air guns seemed to do the trick after a long hour of shooting. After several hours, Rom-Hanaweth had fallen to Tecrojia.
The plans to successfully strike Lexustralany prevailed. Not only did the Imperial Army of Tecrojia penetrate Lexustralany’s stealthy defenses, but it managed to drill seven miles into the nation. And though this may seem like a great victory for Tecrojia, the death toll was catastrophic. Of a landing party of about twelve thousand soldiers and heavy armor, approximately 7,150 Imperial Soldiers lost their lives. Six Imperial Battleships, containing about 700 men and women each, were sunk by missile and rocket attacks. 30 air transports containing 15 soldiers each, were shot down. And about 2500 troops on land were killed by projectile fire and opposing military.

Plans to seek revenge upon the Imperial invaders from Tecrojia are underway. The loss of Rom-Hanaweth continues to shock Lexustralany. Mobilization to contain the spread of the Tecrojians in Rom-Hanaweth is impossible at this time, but plans to contain them at all are possible. The lives of those men, women, and children who lost their lives will be avenged. The intruders who come here to take our lands are about to see what nation they are truly dealing with.
Quotes from interviews:
“It’s a shame that Rom-Hanaweth fell to the Imperials. But that didn’t mean we weren’t gonna fight ‘em,” said Sergeant Tacklberry of the 31st Army, Alpha Squadron.
“Them Tecro’s pulled off a nice victory on us. Ya know, they always say that home field advantage always works in one’s favor, but it didn’t really do much for us at the time. Sure, we had our supplies and our armies ready to go… but them Tecro’s had wartime experience. And I think that’s what got us.” Private Talbert of the 16th Mechanized Army.
“I wasn’t just gonna sit by and watch Lexustralany be torn apart. They were like a gang vandalizing a house. Lexustralany’s my home and theys was vandalizing it… and I wasn’t gonna take none of it… not none…” Staff Sergeant Roderick of the 31st Army, Delta Squadron.
Edifice
It’s been about a week since Lexustralany felt the affects of Operation Abrasion. Most of the army is still mobilizing to stop the Imperial Army, but Lexustralany is just too big to move as quickly as wanted. The closer armies have moved to slow the advance of the Tecrojians into Lexustrail territory. At the moment, the Royal Army is fighting against what the Tercrojians have turned into a giant wasteland of trenches, rubble, outposts, and minefields.
“Thank f***ing God that I was born on the OTHER side of Lexustralany! I may sound like a little chicken S***, but you know you’s all with me,” said Staff Sergeant Roderick. He always had a strange way with words. He’d always boost trooper morale with his cheap pop and sly words weather he meant them or not.
“You know… When I get to that General Stalin guy, I’m gonna get my brother’s nine iron and shove it straight up his arse!” said Roderick, getting a few chuckles in response, “Yeah… and then I’m gonna get my wife’s scissors and snip off a pair if you’s catch my drift.” All of the men from Delta who were in the same truck as Roderick continued to laugh, until they began to see the smoke ahead of them. They knew now that they’ve just become part of the war.
The guys grabbed their gear and exited the truck as it came to a stop. They gathered together and stood in attention, waiting orders from Lieutenant Jackson. “Man, oh man, what the hell are we gonna do…?” Private Cold said to himself, under his breath. The air was cold and wet, and the sky was filled with gray clouds. Luckily, the troops had their rain gear and fresh boots.
“Alright, guys…” Lieutenant Jackson sighed, “This isn’t a drill. This isn’t some fancy exercise we’re on. This is the real thing and we need to work together on this.” Delta listened to his words and nodded as he went along. “Instructions, sir?” asked Sergeant Monsweld. Jackson looked around and then back to his men.
“We’re heading out toward Lemorhine. The Tecro’s have us pinned down there.” Said Jackson.
“Sir…?” asked Private Cold.
“Yeah?”
“I uh… I’m scared…”
Monsweld patted Cold on the back and Corporal Hudson put his hand on Cold’s shoulder, hoping to give some comfort.
“John… It’s a war. People come and people die. We’re all scared, John. You’d be a crazy fool not to be…” Jackson looked at his men and nodded. With one more deep breath and sigh, Jackson ordered his men to stand and to head out toward Lemorhine.

Technology isn't the biggest factor. But we'd appreciate that you don't godmode against anyone if you decide to join. So, no bombs that can blow up continents and no space ships that can fry an entire army in a single shot. Keep it interesting.
Ameremont
22-03-2005, 15:46
The war continues to go on, overseas. Though Ameremont is in the same region as Tecrojia, Ameremont has decided to remain in a state of neutrality. Trade cannot be conducted, as it will be seen as a sign of choosing favorites. The possibilities of Ameremont going to war are slim to none, at this stage of the war… but as they say, be prepared for the worst. As time goes on, the citizens of Ameremont are forced to sit idly and watch the destruction of an economic powerhouse and a militaristic machine.
Quotes:
“I can’t say that I’m in favor either of them. If anything, them bloody Tecrojians and those limey Lexi’s need to ring each other’s necks some more! This is one of those times where I can say I’m proud to live in Ameremont,” said Lance Corporal Juan Alvarez of the 1st Army, Second Battalion.
“What will happen to the stocks? I believe the stock market is located in Romexicaneth, Lexustralany and if I’m right… won’t the Imperial Army march right in and take it? And what happens then? Do I lose my money?!” said Petty Officer Richard Wiley of the A.S. Visigoth.
Stagnant Perplexity
The war in Lexustralany drags on and the people in Ameremont are displeased with the way the trade is going. Neither Tecrojia nor Lexustralany are available to trade with. And even if one was, the other would blow the trade cogs out of the water and gun the trade planes out of the sky. Just the luck of an Ameretent.
“ I swear, this sucks so much…” said Mike, “I mean, we were all signed up with Averin Industries and now we can’t even get to them because of the damn war. I swear those guys are stupid.”
“Yeah, well what can ya do?” replied Rick, Mike’s fishing industry partner, “Besides… it’s not like it hurts us.”
Mike and Rick finished cleaning up the loading bay on the ship and walked into the cabin. “So… what if we get dragged into the war?” asked Mike. Rick raised an eyebrow and looked down at his glass of water. Stirring it a bit, he came up with an answer to the question. “If Ameremont gets into the war, I’m leaving the country. HA HA!” Rick turned on the TV in the cabin and flipped through the channels.
The two friends laughed a bit more, telling jokes about how stupid Lexi’s and Tecrojians are. Just then, a newscast brought up a report about heavy casualties in Lexustralany. Not only did it inform them of the death toll, but it also killed their joy when they learned of Rick’s cousin being killed in Lemorhine.

The days have been dark and cold. Currently, the only warmth around comes from the flames put forward by the war. It's the warmth that no one wants to feel. The enemy lies just beyond 18th street, where Green's Groceries and Blockbuster Videos is. Everyone and everything is quiet. All that can be heard is the wind ruffling whatever it hits and the rain splashing down upon the earth below. Perhaps the weather will play to the homefield advantage.
Quotes:
"It was a terrible thing, that. You couldn't really tell if it was about to rain hard or if it was gonna be another soft one," said Private James Rigby of the 32nd Army, Charlie Company.
"Yous gotta realize that this was no game. No, no... This was one of them serious things. Lemorhine was uh... Lemorhine was a doozy. Them damn Tecros always messing everything up for us was real aggrivatin'," said Staff Sergeant Roderick of the 31st Army, Delta Squadron.
"Tension got to the point where you just wanted to go up in there and shoot someone. It was cold and wet... And the Tecros had all of the building shelter. All we had were our boots... We needed to remind them of who's home this is," said Sergeant Ken Monsweld of the 31st Army, Delta Squadron.
Lemorhine
"AROUND!! GO AROUND!" yelled Jackson, as the battle heated. Explosions sprang up left and right as the FA-29 Tanks hammered the landscape. Hanging in the rear were FA-28's, firing long range attacks with their large cannons. One could barely hear Lieutenant Jackson barking out his orders, but his gestures got the message through. It was almost like he was flailing to get his men's attention. "KEEP GOING! WE DIDN'T COME HERE TO DIE IN A DITCH! GET MOVING!" yelled Jackson, as he kicked Hudson and forced him off of the ground.
Monsweld took Privates Cold and Rogers toward the left of Denny's. Just by looking through the holes in the walls, they could see where they needed to be to mount a successful attack. The three waited for Privates Nixon and Mac KenKen to arrive behind the most covered part of the wall. Monsweld grabbed his map and looked it over with Cold and Rogers. "Alright, guys, when Nixon and Mac KenKen get here we're gonna take out this front. Rogers, I want you and Nixon to resume your course to the left alley and draw their fire," ordered Monsweld, just as the other two arrived, "Johnny, you're setting up a machine gun in Denny's and using that hole in the wall as your portal. Cold, you're with me."
Later in the day, Lexustrail 27's moved around the eastern ridge and fired upon the Tecrojian defenses. More troops poured into the city as the battle roared on. The battle became so intense and the troops became so desperate that they resorted to melee brawls in the middle of the streets. It was about 8:30pm that the Royal Army began to retake the fallen city of Lemorhine. The Tecrojian tanks began their retreat, with most of them intact at that. Royal forces suffered heavy losses trying to retake their city. 3,768 Royal Infantry lost their lives in the raid. 15 FA-27’s were destroyed, along with most of their crew. The disaster at Lemorhine maybe have been an eye opener for the Tecrojian troops, but it was the wake-up call for the Royal Army.

The Imperial Forces are slowly pressing the Royals back, but not without its negative aspects of the war. The defendants continue to pelt Imperials with attacks, strong enough to take their land back. After a devastating battle in Lemorhine, the Imperial Army on the east has been experiencing a decrease in troop morale. This is giving the Lexustralian military an upper hand. With the eastern Imperial weakness exposed, the entire eastern half of the front could collapse. This could spell disaster for Tecrojia.
Quotes from interviews:
“Lemriho des a distridat. Dir bejtes cald zut nian. Bit dir cunradats zenkt vekertondires ulgudire, zvinche ve dunt duld devotat je Lechuzaniz… bit ve kurr nisgrat,” said Private Staflin of the 22nd Imperial Army, Master Company.
(“Lemorhine was a disaster. Our defenses could not hold. But our commanders had preparations underway, which we thought would defeat the Lexustralians… but we were wrong.”)
“Lechuzania zenkt oon agudant gun je war: Strugen intrudatial truna. Je zeme acomatelia pengrat des mur pengrecha tin ve dunt. War gun Lechuzania des e gindagrat,” said Private Georges Coomblovf of the 22nd Imperial Army, Master Company.
(“Lexustralany had one advantage in the war: Strong international trade. The damn economic power was more powerful than we thought. War in Lexustralany was a mistake.”)
Recoil
The loud motions of the tanks and trucks could be heard around the troops. They didn’t seem too spirited. Not a single smile could be found on their faces. All that was to be found was a look of disappointment, sweat, and dirt. When Lemorhine fell to the Royal Army it triggered a series of defeats. Helena, Casaban, and St. Georges were all rid of Imperial troops. Each soldier in the transports knew that the lines were breaking and that the east would eventually fall. It was only a matter of time. Many of the soldiers in Master Company looked broken and unable to fight. The fiercest and most proud company in the entire 22nd Army was battered and beaten, which seemed to put a giant shroud over the possibility of victory.
“Why are we here?” asked Corporal Andrei, “I mean, we’re in another country bustin’ our balls and for what? Just the other day I saw Larry get… you, you remember Larry right sarge? Yeah, well just the other day I saw him get his leg blow the heck off. Medics said the poor kid ain’t even gonna make it. He was fresh outta’ high school.” Andrei looked around at the other men, who seemed to be listening to his story. He shook his head and looked down at his boots, letting out a deep sigh. “We’re out here for nuthin’. We’re getting our boys blown to bits, left and right, and for what? Them Lexis’s got themselves their reason. They wanna save their home! But what are we doing? We wanna get into their home, but for what? It’s a load of s*** if you ask me.” A few soldiers nodded slightly, while others just hung their heads lower becoming more depressed as Andrei rambled on.
The trucks finally came to a halt and the troops were let out. Coramin walked around the corner of the truck and saw a damaged sign next to him. The sign read: “Bakersburgh”. Coramin shook his head and let out some obscenities under his breath, walking back toward the rest of Master Company. While the others were gearing up Coramin began stressing out.
“Hey, Hector, what’s the matter? Didn’t get time to drain the pipes back home?” joked Staflin.
“Do you know where the f*** we are?” replied Coramin.
The others looked around and then at each other. Some of them shrugged and then looked back at Coramin with a curious look upon their faces. Coramin, paced back and forth with a sarcastic chuckle. He placed his hands on his hips, looked down, still chuckling to himself. He kicked one of the unloaded barrels, seemingly enraged yelling, “WE’RE IN F***ING BAKERSBURGH! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?” Andrei looked at his comrades, then slowly looked down and closed his eyes with a loud sigh. The more weathered troops in the company knew very well what was happening and they quickly seemed to lose all morale. Private Staflin began to weep, thinking he might never see home again, only to be comforted by a few pats on the back from his fellow soldiers. “What’s the big fuss about this place, sir?” asked Private Lenon.
“What’s the big fuss? What’s the big FUSS?” Coramin grabbed Lenon and slammed him against the side of a transport, pinning him to the cold metal. “If Romexicaneth wasn’t their capital, Bakersburgh would be next in line. Do you know what that means? It means that them Lexi’s got a big can of whoop-ass in there. You’d might as well bend over and kiss yours goodbye while you can, Private.” Coramin flung Lenon to the side as he walked over to Andrei and geared up. The rest of the green troops held onto those words and began to wish they had never been sent.
“Alright guys,” said Captain Veramovf, “This is the big one. This is our time to show them who we are. We’re not Beta Company… We’re not Delta Company… We’re not Charlie Company… And we’re not Maggot Company. We’re Master Company. Now let’s show them why.”

The only good that comes from war is the good feeling of going home. Home is where a tired soldier always wants to be. The carnage and terror floating around the battlefield never seems to soothe the soul like a warm bath and kisses from the Mrs. The sound of children laughing as they played in the streets can actually calm a man who’s heard nothing but the terrifying sheiks of death. Mowing the lawn is a once again a luxury to a soldier who’s had to line up his comrades on the sidewalks of his fellow countrymen. And taking orders from your commanding wife is more pleasant than having your ears ring to the barking of your captors in a containment camp.
Quotes:
“There were those moments… Those moments when you could be at peace,” said Staff Sergeant Ken Monsweld of the 31st Army, Delta Squadron.
“I think that some of the best times of my life were actually um… they were actually during the war. You couldn’t get closer to your family during any other time.” Said Private Rogers of the 31st Army, Delta Squadron.
“As far as peace goes, there was nuttin’ like mum’s home cooking. Heh, it hurt to be out on them fields for weeks on end without having a home-cooked meal from mother,” said Master Gunnery Sergeant Roderick of the 31st Army, Delta Squadron.
“It was just a matter of getting home. This war was about kickin’ them Tecros out of our country and getting home. Just… just to find some solid tranquility…” said Corporal Mac KenKen of the 31st Army, Delta Squadron.

The train runs smooth and quiet on the inside. It’s so smooth that even the liquid in the cups don’t seem to move. Technology has really advanced since the old and busted days. The super trains can get a man from the war front to his home across the nation in a matter of hours, these days. As they used to say back when 7-11 was a popular place, “Oh, thank Heaven!” A ticket home meant only one thing to a soldier on leave from the front lines: Time for some well deserved R & R. And who better to help him settle than a loving family? Then again, anyone could sleep on this train.
“Hey, wake up. We’re almost home!” Monsweld said, as he smacked Mac KenKen’s shoulder. But to no avail, he remained asleep. Monsweld shook his head and smiled, thinking of his family. “Man, oh man, we’re almost home. No more ducking for cover in a f***ing muddy ditch!” yelled First Sergeant Tacklberry. A few of the other soldiers onboard nodded their heads and cheered along with him. One could literally feel the joy filling atmosphere of the train car, just by looking at it from the other cars. And yet, as the men sang and cheered, Mac KenKen remained sound asleep.
As the train came to a complete stop, they gathered their belongings. Monsweld soon pinched Mac KenKen’s nose and clogged his breathing. He abruptly sad up, gasping for air while Monsweld and Tacklberry laughed at him. “Yeah, yeah… laugh it up,” said Mac KenKen in a joking manner. They finally exited the train and went their separate ways.
“10789 Harbour Street…” said Monsweld with a sigh of relief, “I’m home.” Monsweld walked up to the house, just barely lit by the porch light. The house was large and chrome. Trees and exotic plants lined the surroundings of the house and the windows seemed to help set the tone of the house. Monsweld rang the doorbell and waited for someone to open the door. He couldn’t wait to see his family again and grew quite anxious after waiting a whole ten seconds. What seemed like ages to Monsweld turned out to be three minutes. The war had really changed his awareness of time.
Soon, the door unlocked and a teenage girl opened the door. Her eyes were half open and her hair was all over the place. She looked almost too groggy to even recognize that Monsweld was even human. “Hello?” she said in a quiet and tired voice. She continued to try and make an image of Monsweld, but needed time to adjust to the light. Monsweld stepped more into the light and said, “It’s me, Kenneth… your brother.” The girl raised an eyebrow, looked down at one of the door hinges and thought for a moment. “OH! KENNETH!” She hugged him.
“You’re alive, you’re alive! Thank God, you’re alive!” his sister yelled hysterically. Footsteps booming down the stairs could be heard in the dark of the house. “Who’s that? Who are you?” yelled a man, wielding a revolver. “Papa, come quick! It’s Kenneth, back from the front!”
Meanwhile, the tension at Bakersburgh heated as the Imperial Army massed its forces to take the city. The Jewel of Lexustralany prepared its defenses for the oncoming invasion. Automated turrets and a strong standing army was what stood between Tecrojia and potential victory of the war. The 18,000 Imperials were dwarfed by the nearly 32,000 man military sitting in Bakersburgh, not to mention out-gunned by the Royal Army, standing turrets, and secret outposts. But the Tecrojians wanted this city so bad they could taste it. They knew that Romexicaneth would be within their grasp if they could shatter the Jewel of Lexustralany.
Back home, Monsweld soon found himself sitting at the dinner table with his mother, father, and his younger sister. He explained that he wanted to be with them, rather than spend his first night alone at his own home. After, they talked about the war and how it was going for a while, but quickly changed subjects. Most of what they spoke of were the events taking place at home. They’d heard all about the victories in Lemorhine, Helena, Casaban, and St. Georges, but knew nothing of what was about to take place in Bakersburgh. And for Monsweld, that’s how it was to remain. Though he knew he would be sent back to the war in five days, there would be no bad news lingering around the house while he was home to rest and relax. And even knowing his comrades were dying on the fields as he spoke to his family, he knew his family wanted nothing more to do with the war. It was their one chance to escape the nightmare and be a happy family again. Only two hours had gone by while Monsweld was home, but the family agreed to sleep. Monsweld said goodnight to his sister and to his mother, but remained with his father for a brief moment. “I’m proud of you, son. Thanks for keeping us safe,” said Mr. Monsweld. Ken smiled and nodded.
“It’s good to have you home, son,” said Mr. Monsweld.
“It’s good to be home,” said Ken.
